Maddie definitely enjoyed her peace and quiet. Esspecially on decent, friday nights. She was a bit of a rebel, and firmly beleived that rules where meant to be broken. Oh, it was such a great motto. At least to her it was. Tonight she was some place she was pretty sure that nobody else was going to be. Not many people where as crazy as her to go to cliffs at about ten at night. She would do just about anything for a bit of peace and quiet, though. It was something she craved. Like many people in her element, she was a bit of a loner. Yeah she had friends, not any that she considered to be really close friends though. She didn't worry about that too much. She figured that if people came into your life, they where there for a reason. If somebody came into her life that was meant to stay, they would.
When she was alone was when she did most of her thinking. It was wonderful that this night happened to be clear and starry. However, it was sort of chilly. She sighed and laid back, with a folded up blanket under her head that she had brought with her. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a grey sweatshirt that said "Dream on Dreamer" that she had gotten from Zumiez. It wasn't very fashionista looking, but of course - she was on top of the cliffs at ten at night. Nobody was going to see her. She put her arms behind her head, bringing one knee up so that it was bent at about ninety degree's. She loved looking up at the stars. She could see many different constallations, and she knew quite a bit about those. She read a lot of books - and astrology happened to be something she was very interested in.
The silence was beautiful - to her anyways. She could fall asleep up here. In fact, she figured that she probably would fall asleep up there sometime before the night ended. At this point in time however, she was content with counting the stars that hung lazily in the night sky above her. Don't think anything could mess up this night. She said, with a contented sigh. Just then, she saw two shooting stars frisk across the sky. "Oh!" She breathed out, before sitting up a little bit and closing her eyes. Why she couldn't wish laying down? It was just a personal preference. I wish... She started to think. But nobody was around. "I wish they would find him..." Her voice was still hushed, and she opened her eyes and looked back up at the sky. She was obviously talking about her father, but to anybody else who may have heard her, they wouldn't know that. She sighed and laid back, folding her arms behind her head, and looking up at the stars. Tonight was just about perfect.

The glory about living in the dorms was that you did not have parents watching and controlling your every move. You could do homework whenever you wanted, sleep whenever you wanted, and there was no mom to nag about picking up your laundry all of the time. Sure, homesickness happened even to the most independent of people, but Adam coped quite well. The weekends were his time to go into the Hollow and spend time with Molly and possibly stop in at the shop to bother the hell out of Asher. Tonight, however, was a bit less than stellar as he sat on his bed playing a video game. Mid-way through one of the levels, he could hear the wall next to him making some sort of repetitive thudding noise. Adam ignored it at first. Dumb mother fuckers putting shit up on the wall. Then, a muffled mewl came from the other side of that wall and he groaned. Oh great, just what he wanted to hear tonight. If it had been him in that situation he would probably not care all that much but since he was on the other side of that damned wall Adam was not interested in the least.
He went on for a few more minutes--after turning up the volume on his television--and finally dropped his head on the comforter. They did not seem intent on quieting down. "Mother fuckers." Grunting, Adam rolled off of his bed and slid his shoes on, intent on going out for a little bit until the rabbits were done having at one another for the night. It was a bit chilly considering the night, but he shrugged it off and pushed onward across the Academy grounds. Being outside was refreshing he supposed. Better than listening to people having sex.
Just as he reached the lake, Adam looked up at the cliffs and huffed a bit before making the trek upwards. It was as good a place as any to relax and wait to go back to the dorms. Maybe it would be quieter when he got back. When he neared the top of the cliffs he heard a voice and stopped mid-step, observing the girl as she sat up and looked towards the sky. A familiar face, at least. Adam cracked a smirk and finished the last few steps to the top. "Yo," He greeted, not really thinking about the fact that she was practically talking to herself. "Were people having sex in the room next to you too? Because it really is the most annoying fucking thing in the world." He dropped his head back slightly, looking exasperated before observing the stars. It was a clear night. "I mean, I guess I wouldn't give a shit if it were me but it's boring just listening to it." Not that Adam had had much experience. One time was hardly much to boast about, anyway. He plopped down on the ground and crossed his legs, leaning back on his hands to get comfortable. "So what's up?"

It was the solitude that had drawn Maddie up here tonight. The fact that she wanted to be alone. She wasn't feeling very social. Typical thunder, most would probably say. But she wasn't quite as anti social as most of the thunders where. She liked to spend time with her friends, she just had to be in the right mood to do it. She wasn't like some of the waters who wanted to be with people all the time. No, that wasn't her at all. Occasionally being with other people was alright though. She wasn't going to push others away - not right anyways. But of course, she couldn't see why any body else would be on top of the cliffs at this time of night.
Well, she thought that for a little while anyways. She was watching for more shooting stars to streak across the sky, when she heard a voice and jumped a little, sitting up now, and turning around to look at who it was. "Oh. Hey Adam." She said, in her usual, flat tone. She wasn't overly excited to see him, of course, but at least it was somebody that she knew. She sighed a little and shook his head at his question. After a moment she laid back down, folding her arms behind her head. "No, nobody having sex that I know of." She couldn't help but stifle a small laugh. "I bet you wouldn't mind. But those people in the room next to yours would."
She sighed and continued watching the sky. She really liked shooting stars. It wasn't something you saw very often. Even though, in reality, they where just flaming rocks going across the sky faster than you could imagine. It was actually really intersting to her. The things you learn as kids are actually completely different. She didn't believe that the wishes you made on them would really come true - but anything could happen. After all, she could control the element of thunder. Her companion for the evening - Adam, could control fire. "Just kind of... chilling." She didn't want to come off as rude by saying she was hoping to spend the evening alone. But she didn't mind Adam. At least he wasn't annoying. "Looking for shooting stars." She said, sounding almost childish. She didn't mean for it to come out as child like though, and felt her cheeks get a little bit red at that. However, he probably couldn't see it. "What about you? Besides, you know, escaping the sexcapades in the room next door?" She looked over at him, searching his face with her eyes as best as the faint light would allow.

Adam lifted up a hand to confirm his greeting when she returned it, not overly enthusiastic but there none the less. He was not really the type of person to reveal a reel of emotions, unless they were his defaults which were normally more grumpy and angry than anything else. Not many people enjoyed his company for that reason. Once you got past that initial wall, though, he did have redeeming qualities. "It's so fucking annoying," Adam commented, looking as flustered as ever. "But hey, if they can do it and disturb everyone and their mother without caring, then I can too." He jabbed a finger at himself. Feeling entitled for something like that was a bit strange but then again he was never really considered normal. Whenever he was able to be in the position where he had a more consistent girlfriend then he would probably have loud sex every night just to piss off the guy dorming next to him. Enjoyable but with a dash of vengeance. Glorious.
"Sounds extremely fun," He deadpanned, looking at her blandly. Why did he always manage to make friends with the quieter types? The boy could probably babble on and on for hours on end about random things but Mona and Madeline were not as chatty. Annabel was, which he supposed was a good thing. Unfortunately secret friendships did not leave much available in the way of conversations at school. "Shooting stars? Don't tell me you make wishes or some shit on them. You know that stuff doesn't actually work." Or did it? Hell if he knew. In Adam's mind it seemed rather pointless because the stuff he would wish for never came to fruition. Of course wishing for new video games was a little less important than, say, wishing Molly would find herself in a happy relationship with someone. That was something he kept to himself. He did huff a laugh at the word 'sexcapades' and shook his head. "That's pretty much it, actually." Adam rolled his shoulders back in a sort of half shrug. Had it not been for the douche bag and his fuck buddy (or girlfriend, but he did not care) he would still be playing his video game. "But I guess I can chill out here until the mother fucker decides to give it a rest and go to sleep." Ah well, it was just a video game anyway. He saved it so whenever he got back to his room he could pick up where it left off.

There where some times that Maddie was more outgoing. Like mall trips with her friends, she certainly wasn't the quiet type. Or seeing her on stage while she was acting you would never guess that she was more quiet. It wasn't so much that she didn't want to talk, it was just more that she always had a lot on her mind. Or just liked to think. She was one of those people that was always thinking. She liked listening to people talk, telling stories and the like. As long as she wasn't busy thinking about something. "Well then," She started, smirking over at him. "I guess you should find somebody to help you out with that then, huh?" She said, raising an eyebrow. It was pretty obvious he couldn't have sex with himself. Well, maybe he could. That was the point of sex toys and what not, but she was pretty sure he meant with another person. Maddie wasn't opposed to anything like that, though. Just because she was a virgin, and almost fifteen, didn't mean she didn't think about it.
"Oh yeah. It's just fucking the best thing ever." Her voice was obviously extremely unamused, and accompanied by a sigh. It really wasn't a lot of fun, but it was better than sitting in her dorm doing nothing. She just wasn't in a talkative mood today. "Oh no, of course not." She stated rather quickly, which was a lie, but he wouldn't know that. "They're just cool to watch. Don't you think?" She turned her gaze over towards him. Maybe he wasn't as deep as she was. She was pretty proud of her invented word. "Sexcapades." She muttered, almost under her breath. "I think that should go in a dictionary." She said, brooding the thought for a moment before turning her attention back to Adam. "Well, at least you can get away from it, right?" She said, smirking at him again. "Sorry if I'm not as entertaining as whatever you where doing before you came out here. We can do something? Or talk. Or just here in complete utter silence and do nothing. Really, you can chose." She laughed a little and smiled at him. She really didn't mind just about anything. Hell, at this point she would probably dive off the cliff into the lake if somebody wanted to.

"Are you offering to be help?" Adam asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes, a smirk playing on his lips. "I mean, what a coincidence that I ran into you right?" His flirtatious tendencies were often relentless and--to some--annoying but it was something he tended to do subconsciously. He enjoyed complementing a pretty girl and hesitating in doing so was simply not in his nature. So long as his friends could roll with it and not take it completely to heart then he was okay. Not that there were not a few scraps now and again with said friends' boyfriends. Those hardly ever ended well.
Adam eyed her, not quite sure how to take her response. Why would she come out here to chill out if it was not something she wanted to do? His visit to the cliffs, unfortunately, was not something would have volunteered to do at this hour. He looked back up at the stars, his neck craned back as far as it would go before shrugging. "I dunno," He thought on it for a second. "I mean I guess they can be. I don't stare at the sky all of the damn time, you know." Adam was not a heavy ponderer. Not in the sense that he wondered about the meaning of life and tried to dig so deep into the philosophy that he could not find a way out, at least. When it came to literature and poetry he did enjoy tearing bits and pieces apart to better understand what was underneath but people were far too complicated. Hell, he was complicated and he knew it. "So I'm guessing you're a star-gazer then. Do you believe in horoscopes and shit too?" He had no idea how all of that stuff worked and never particularly cared for it, but if Madeline was interested then he supposed it was best to ask questions. She was a friend, after all. Strangers were not so special.
Perversion was not beyond the kid. Not only was he just past puberty--his voice was getting deeper and he had more of a thing for the ladies--but he was also a guy. Sex was on the brain quite often. "Hell yeah it should. We should start our own dictionary or some shit. Instead of Websters', it'll be uh...Madasters. Or something." Yeah, that was going to need a bit of editing but it could be fun either way. Random words all piled up in a notebook for random use sounded like a way to pass the time. Adam huffed a laugh. "For now. That mother fucker loves to be obnoxious no matter what he's doing. I guess he likes being annoying as fuck sexually too." You got to know people when you were in the dorms, so it was no surprise that he heard his neighbor babbling on and on in the common room about one thing or another incessantly. It was irritating but then again Adam was not much better. He adjusted his position on the rock. It was so uncomfortable. "We can do whatever," He replied, not particularly caring one way or the other. He had not planned on anyone being out here anyway. "You can just keep staring at your stars and I'll...do something." He had no idea what that something would be.

Maddie was a flirt. She wasn't a whore, but she was a flirt. Most girls her age where, she figured. But around somebody more flirtatious than her it was hard not to be a flirt. " Well... I'm not saying I wouldn't help..." She said, looking over at him smirking a bit. "I don't really think anything is ever really.. a coincedance. Everything happens for a reason, right?" She raised an eyebrow at him. She had a bad habit about leading guys on. However, if he really wanted to do anything she probably wouldn't say no. The teenage girl side of her wanted to do something. That pretty much came with the puberty thing.
Maddie tried not to talk like she was really quite that strange. But things like that did interest her. Stars, philosophy... all sorts of things that people didn't pay much attention to. She liked to read, and poetry especially, but plays where usually what she read. She was an actress, and liked to familiarize herself with the works of different plays. Shakespeare, Beckette, Ibsen... she could probably list off most famous playwrights - and their plays, with her eyes closed. "But they can be kind of cool." She said, before pointing up towards the sky. "That's the big dipper. They say that's what led all the slaves out of slavery." She said, before moving her hand off to the right. "And that constellation is Ursa Major. It's supposed to be the mother bear protecting her baby... which is just off to the left.." She said, before biting her lip and dropping her hand, looking over at him. " Sorry you probably think I'm weird."
Maddie shrugged a little at his next question. "I read them sometimes." She admitted. She wasn't a very good liar, so that probably wouldn't happen. [color=yellow "But I think they're a load of bullshit."
She said, snorting a little and shaking her head, her hair picking up with the very light breeze. "I mean, I don't think anybody really believes those things. Saying " you will find the love of your life today" doesn't mean that is going to happen." She said, with a small sigh. When she was younger she read them every day, and believed most of what she read with them. But what she realized was that they usually only came true if she made them come true. Maddie nodded and laughed a little at his suggestion. " I like it. Madasters. I could see that catching on." She said, pondering that for a few moments. Starting their own dictionary was definitely something the two would be capable of. Something teenagers would read, anyways, with words like Sexcapades. She grabbed a nearby rock, that was fairly sharp, and scratched a circle on the rock between them, and wrote Sexcapades in it. "There." She stated, placing the rock down. "Now we won't forget it. We'll just have to come up here more often." She mused, glancing back over at him. "Obnoxious sex. Of course. Not like I haven't heard it before. The dorms can all get a little crazy." She said, rolling her eyes, before sighing and standing up. "Do you wanna go for like.. a walk or something? A little late night exploration never hurt anybody." She said, flashing him a bright smile. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Adam searched her face, trying to figure out if she was actually joking or not. He was joking (mostly) and wondered if Madeline took it the way he had intended or if it was serious. He was a guy--a boy at puberty no less--so yeah, his mind dove straight into the gutter as he continued to smirk. "I might have to take you up on that offer one day. Be prepared for a phone call and all that good shit." Like a booty call, only more awkward since they were actually friends. Should he be asking her to have sex with him? It seemed kind of wrong but at the same time his body compelled him forward. A bit of a dangerous combination. The boy shrugged. "Well, I'm not normally a sucker for the whole 'fate' bullshit, but I guess I can make an exception in this case." His dark eyes still held that mysterious, mischievous glow, though his expression remained rather neutral. He wanted to see how she would take it. He was forever pushing the envelope and testing the waters. How people would react, what they would say, what they would do when he said or did something. It might be wrong but he liked to mess with people.
The two of them were really quite alike with their strangeness, which was amusing because Adam liked to pretend that he was no where near that end of the spectrum. He avoided talking about his love of English, his love of Shakespeare, because people tended to poke fun. It was okay for other people to babble on and on about their more academic interests but the boy refrained. His eyes drifted upwards again as she talked, eyeing her every time he noticed that her hand moved. "Huh, interesting," He said with a distant tone to his voice. Not bored, merely pondering. Part of him wanted to be snarky and poke fun but the other half knew how angry he would get if someone did that to him. So many conflicting feelings. "Yeah, you are weird," He finally said, deciding that it really wasn't a big deal. "But hey, who gives a fuck? It's not like being normal is any sort of fun anyway. All of those people don't know how to have fun and live it up." Which Adam felt to be true. Normal was boring, and that was that. If only he could embrace his own words and be more outspoken about his affinity for English. Then he might be less of a hypocrite.
"Reading and believing are different, but at least you have no shame. I like that." He would never find himself reading horoscopes, no matter how tempted he was to read one and see if any of it wound up coming true. The boy scoffed and wrinkled his nose in distaste. "Tch. Love at first sight is bullshit anyway." He was only fourteen and never experienced any sort of emotion like that but he was pretty damn sure that love did not work that way.
He lifted his chin and got a haughty look on his face, smiling a little. "Yeah I figured. It is a pretty epic name, isn't it?" Well, at least Madeline thought it was and for now that was all that mattered considering she was the only one in the vicinity. He watched as she carved the word sexcapades in the rock and could not help but laugh and nod. "Yeah. And to make the word official we'll have to have sex on top of that." He pointed at the word before laughing a little more, his tone a bit suggestive. Hey, he was a guy. When did he not have sex on the brain? At least he was not loud and obnoxious like his dorm mates, though he had the potential to be if given the chance. More or less it would be out of spite but that did not make it any less fun. Adam always talked and thought as though he was some sort of sex god who had had many partners. Nope, just one, and it was probably a failure. Not that he would admit to that. He nodded and looked up at her after she stood, shrugging a little. "Sure, whatever sounds good." Adam stood up and brushed off his pants before shoving his hands in the pockets and making his way down the cliff side. "We should go into the woods or some shit. Sound good? Good." There was no arguing with him on that one. He reached the bottom and stretched out a little bit. "Maybe we'll find something creepy." So long as it was not a big dog or a clown, he would be okay.

At this point, Maddie wasn't actually sure if she was joking or not. If he asked her to have sex right now, she probably would. Mostly for the rush, the thrill, not because she actually thought it was a good idea. But her parents never really cared much - probably because they thought Maddie wasn't going to get herself into trouble. But she was a teenager, she was going to get into trouble. It was just a fact of life. "Alright. I'll be waiting for it." She said, looking over at him and smirking a little. She had a bad habit of leading guys on, even if she wasn't interested. However, in this case, her brain wasn't exactly the most reliable things sometimes. " Well good. Glad to be an exception." She said, laughing a little bit.
Maddie actually had a lot of strange hobbies that people didn't know about. Or at least that she didn't brag about. Her love of Shakespeare wasn't a total secret, but she didn't brag about the fact that she had read every single one of his plays. That along with many other playwrights. She pretty much only read plays, but occasionally would pick up a book. They usually bored her, though. She liked the twists in the story that Shakespeare always put into it. However, Romeo and Juliette she wasn't a big fan of. It was too overused. Even one of her favorite childhood movies, The Lion King, seemed to hint at the play. Hell, everything did. He didn't really sound too interested when he said Oh, interesting, but Maddie didn't blame him. Not many people where interested in the stars as much as she was. Weird is the new normal." She said, nodding her head briefly, even if it wasn't visable. "But... that would make us boring. And all be damned if we where boring." She laughed a little again. She didn't think either of them where boring.
"No shame. Ever." She said, laughing a little again. She really didn't find herself being embarrassed most of the time. Sure, there where some things that she could probably get embarrassed about if people found out about it. "Oh, for sure. That's all shit." She said, snorting a little and rolling her eyes. She didn't really believe in the love at first site shit at all. She didn't think there was any way that could happen. She doubted anybody really had something work out if they said Hey I just met you, and this is crazy... but I love you. She was pretty sure if somebody said that to her she would either think they where on drugs or just plain.. crazy.
She nodded and smiled. "Pretty epic alright. I think we should patent that." She actually could see that catching on. They would be pretty much famous, and it would be the best dictionary in the world. People everywhere would buy it and give it as gifts. Reading the dictionary would never be a punishment again... okay well that was a lie. Reading the dictionary would always be a punishment. Her parents made her do that once when she said Fuck in front of them. They thought it would help her find 'more creative ways of expressing anger' . But in her mind, saying fuck worked about as well as just about anything. "Well.. I think that might be kind of.. painful." She said, glancing up at him smirking a bit. "But maybe someday. if it will make our word official, anyways..." She shrugged a bit, as if making it to be not a big deal. She talked like she wasn't a virgin - but she was, she just wasn't going to brag about that. Society seemed to make it look almost bad to be almost fifteen and still a virgin.
When he got up and started walking also, she walked next to him down the cliff side, grabbing her blanket she had brought with her, and carrying it tucked under one arm, with her hands in her pockets. "Sure, the woods." She said, even though it wasn't needed. Adam had already made up his mind so it wasn't like she was going to be able to change it. He was a boy, and when his mind was made up, there probably wasn't much she could do to change it. Unless of course she said Hey let's have sex on this rock right here, right now. Sound good? She was pretty sure he would have changed his mind then. But exploring the woods sounded good too. "But creepy things are.. creepy." She said, glancing over at him. She wasn't easily scared, but there where things that could scare the crap out of her. Like spiders. She hated those little fuckers. She looked off a bit as they reached the bottom of the cliffs. "Well, let's do this, Neopolian. Explore this uncharted territory." She said, trying to sound tough, and she doubted this was uncharted territory. She started walking off towards thew woods, knowing Adam wouldn't be too far behind - but not wanting him to get too far away.

He wasn't actually sure if it was something that would happen, calling Madeline out of nowhere for some sort of sexual fulfillment, but the boy had little to no filter with his words and hardly ever thought before he spoke. Whatever came to mind, he said. Was it always a good thing? Definitely not, especially when it came to making sexual comments towards his female friends. Mona had to put up with it too, and so did Annabel. Briefly Adam wondered if it would come back to bite him in the ass one day but as quickly as it appeared it vanished. There was no need to dwell on things like that. He had no intentions of changing who he was for anyone. "Yep, you should feel honored," Adam boasted, puffing up his chest a little. Not that this conversation was serious or anything. Hardly any of his flirtatious comments were to be taken into heavy account.
"Fuck being normal," He nearly spat the words, though it was not out of anger. Adam wanted to be different. He liked to stand out, to make a scene and be noticed. Whether the fame were to be good or bad did not exactly matter; the boy simply liked to prove that he existed and was not afraid to do so. "Being boring is so...boring." Great use of words to be sure. "We'll have to find a way to spice up our lives. Show everyone that we aren't like everyone else." He had no idea what that would all entail but you could be damn sure he would figure something out. Besides, it would give him something to do and keeping Adam busy was important. It kept him from getting into worse trouble. He was the type that, if offered a chance to try something, he would try it. Drugs he avoided because of Collin but drinking and possibly sex and doing crazy things were not off the 'no no' list completely. It did not help that his online life as a gamer was spent with a lot of older guys who talked about that stuff all the time. Fortunately, Adam was also not the type to play follow-the-leader for too long. He liked to make his own statements and make his own decisions. This kept him out of the party life, except for a few random escapades every now and again.
Adam laughed with her and agreed with a nod of his head. "Nope, no shame." And he had very few reasons to feel that way. Madeline didn't have many reasons either, he supposed, because everyone was different for a reason. At least she agreed with him that horoscopes were nothing short of ridiculous; Adam could be an argumentative person when he wanted to be and probably would have gone back and forth until his face turned blue to try and prove his point. Unhealthy, really.
Foul mouth and sexual comments aside, the boy was still only fourteen and did enjoy stupid or random things that most would not think he would enjoy. Things that actually excited him for no real rhyme or reason, like discussing their making a dictionary with all of their own made up words. Such nonsense, but Adam was genuinely intrigued by the idea. "We definitely should. We can't have anyone taking our ideas." Not that anyone was around to hear it, but still. He smirked again, and tilted his head a bit to the side. "Tch, it wouldn't be that bad," He waved it off as though having sex on a rock was really no big deal. It would be really uncomfortable though, and possibly painful. He would not let on to that though. "But I guess we'll have to wait and see, yeah?" As tempted as his hormonal fourteen year old body was, part of him knew that that would be a bad idea. Honestly, Adam made no sense. That was okay; he did not like for people to figure him out anyway. Being placed in a box meant that others were trying to define who you were in entirety, assuming you were entirely predictable. That was not something he wanted.
At least Madeline was willing to follow along with him on his excursion into the woods; had she said no, he still would have gone, but it certainly would not have been as enjoyable. "Creepy things aren't really all that bad," He shrugged, knowing that his fears did not really lie within the confines of the woods. That is, unless clowns decided to become hermits and live in the bases of trees. "Uncharted? Well, I dunno about that but we should be able to find something cool. You never know. Like a dead body or something." Not that that was really considered 'cool', but Adam was not really sure if it would freak him out. He passed through the trees, hands in his pockets and looked around lazily. "The woods at night are not really as scary as people make it out to be. Those movies are so full of shit." Horror films never really bothered him.

Maddie had spent enough time around teenage boys to know how their brains worked. At least, she thought she did. It was pretty much sex all the time, wasn't it? Sex and women. She didn't take too many of his comments too seriously, as she shouldn't have taken his seriously either. Boys also seemed to think it was cool to talk about how many women they had screwed. Maddie had heard stories from some of the older guys, and even some of the younger ones. It was like bragging rights, and almost made her wonder why they thought that.
"Right. Normal is for the weak." She replied, with a quick nod. She didn't ever want to be normal. You wouldn't ever be famous if you didn't stand out, right? "I agree. Everybody will know our names, like, it will be written in the sky." She said, making a sweeping motion towards the sky with her hand. "I'm going to be famous someday." She said, her voice a little bit more hushed. It was true, or at least she thought it was. She was damn sure that someday she was going to be famous. She wanted to be on tv, in movies. Wanted everybody to know her name. And if Adam wanted to join her on that escapade, well, that was totally okay. She had big dreams.
No shame sounded like a pretty good motto to live life by. No regrets. Do what makes you happy, not what other people expect you to do. It seemed like a good way to live life - that was pretty much the way Maddie did live her life. The older she got, the more independant she got. She really didn't give a shit about what most people thought about her. Why should she? It was all bullshit anyways. People lied. It was a well known fact. "You should try out for the school play." She said, looking over at him. It was random, yes, but he did say no shame. "We're going to be doing "A Midsummer Nights Dream." I mean.. not sure if you're a fan of Shakespeare but... it should be fun." She said, smiling at him. "Plus, we need more guys." Which was true. Not enough guys ever turned out for the plays.
Maddie was still young. She enjoyed things that some older people would probably think of weird. She was fairly mature for her age, but that didn't mean she wasn't stupid sometimes. Although, it was less stupid and more just having fun. Making a dictionary of their made up words with Adam actually sounded like a lot of fun. For the time being anyways. Unless they couldn't get enough words and the idea flopped. She was determined to start writing these words down, though. "Says you." She said with a snort. "You wouldn't be the one on the bottom." She said, laughing a little. The conversation wasn't serious - at least, she didn't think so, but she smiled at him a little bit anyways. "Yeah, only time will tell."
"They're called creepy for a reason, Addie." She said, glancing over at him to smile, even though it was really hard to make out his features in the dark. She only used his nick name because she knew he hated it. Addie and Maddie. ha ha. She mused to herself, before rolling her eyes. Maddie hadn't ever really been that afraid of the dark, or the woods for that matter. "Such a boy. Only you would think a dead body was cool." She said, laughing a little bit. It wouldn't really be scary, she wouldn't think. In fact, she might go as far as poking it with a stick, but she didn't think it would be that cool. "Well, they would probably be a hell of a lot scarier if I could see anything." She said, sarcastically, moving her arms out in front of her like a zombie. "Can't you like, light something on fire so we have some light?" She said, trying to think of what that might be. She knew the older fire students could, she wasn't sure if Adam could. After all, he had only been in the academy for one semester. She wasn't much more advanced with her powers. "Are there bears in these woods?" She asked, out of curiosity. She wasn't really from around this area - and this was actually her first time exploring the woods, so it was a legit question she thought.

"Yeah, if we pay someone to take a plane and put it up there," Adam replied with a scoff, clearly not caring whether or not their names were etched in the clouds. That would cost too much money. He wanted to make a name for himself, though, and he was interested in being the one everyone recognized on the street. The boy hardly caught her next words, but ignored them for the time being. Everyone wanted to be famous; even if it was just five minutes in the spotlight or a lifetime, even the most reclusive of people desired to find themselves a dose of public attention. Maybe Madeline would get what she wanted, and Adam knew that--as a friend--he would have her back. His loyalty was not so fickle as his brother's.
If there was one thing he did not like to deal with, it was having someone potentially find out about his academic love of English. Madeline was a friend; he could probably tell her anything and know for a fact that his secret would be safe. Then again he was halted by his fear of being teased. What if it was let slip? Adam would not do well with that. Not at all. His expression altered a great deal at her suggestion to join the play, then switched back as he narrowed his eyes. "There is no way I'm trying out for the school play. No way in hell." And not because he did not like plays or want to be in them, but because accepting so easily would make it obvious. He needed to tug at the leash and pull back. "There's a reason that there aren't a lot of guys that join in on plays," Adam explained with a rough shrug. "I think to High School Musical and I cringe at the thought. Midsummer Night's Dream or not." Even he made fun of those movies because really, they were so flamboyant and ridiculous. He could not imagine what would happen if he were a part of it.
The smirk on his face returned once again a bit of a chuckle resting at the back of his throat. "Who says I like being on top?" He replied, quirking his eyebrow suggestively. He always spoke as though he had had many experiences, enough to make him well versed in the ways of sex.
Addie. Oh, how he despised that nickname with every fiber of his being. It was not merely because it was a nickname, more that it implied he was being spoken to like a child. Molly often dubbed him Addie and only did so whenever there was a moment of childish acting out. Adam grunted and glared at Madeline with disdain. "Call me that again, I dare you." The boy warned with a dark, dangerous flash in his eyes. "You know damn well that I don't like that name. It's just flat out Adam." They could even call him Rizzo for all he cared, but Addie was not a name he preferred to hear from anyone but his mother.
The prospect of a dead body did excite him to an extent and, although he was still flustered about Madeline using his nickname, he managed to look interested in this particular conversation. "It could always be worse. At least I'm not some sort of crazy serial killer or some shit." He had been told that his serious face was scary but a look certainly didn't make someone a killer. His aggression was dangerous but not deadly. Adam glanced over at her, lifting up his chin a little as he tried to find her features in the dark. "I would if I could." But he couldn't. He was only a ninth grader and his powers were not controllable. A few spurts every now and again but he could not hold a flame and he certainly could not conjure one out of thin air. Lighters were always the most helpful. "Bears?" He repeated. "I have no fucking clue Maddie. I guess if we get mauled by one, we'll know right?" What a way to go out of this world, at the hands (or claws, rather) of a large bear. Escaping the dorms because your dorm mate was having sex would have seemed like a rather horrible idea if that were the case.

Her comment about writing their names in the sky was obviously not serious. She didn't think that they would seriously have their names written up in the sky. That would be cool, but she knew that wouldn't ever happen. Unless, like he said, they paid somebody to go up in a plane and do it. She just kind of shrugged off his comment. "Yeah I guess so." She replied. It really wasn't a huge deal to her.
Maddie hadn't ever been the type to really hide things from people. She didn't have a whole lot to hide. She didn't grow up troubled or have a deep dark secret to keep from anybody. She didn't go around blurting her whole life story out to everybody and their grandma's dog either, though. In fact, she rarely told anything to anybody that wasn't a friend. And she didn't have many people she considered to be friends. Adam and Mona where probably her two closest, and that wasn't saying much. She didn't open her heart up to many people. At all. "Whaaat!" She said, sticking out her bottom lip and looking at him. "Pleeaaaassseee!" She looked at him for a moment, before scoffing. "The difference is high school musical is a bunch of fags with no talent. A midsummer nights dream is actually a well written piece of art." She liked Shakepeare, so she thought just about everything he wrote was a peice of art. "Besides, there is a kissing scene, you know."
Maddie laughed a little and rolled her eyes. "Right. And I'm sure you're a sex master." She really didn't know about his sex life, and wasn't asking to, but she did know at fourteen he probably didn't have a whole lot going for him. That just didn't seem probably. He didn't really seem like the kind of guy to fuck around with every girl he met, either, even if he was a flirt. But she could tease him.
Maddie knew that Adam hated being called Addie. She also knew that he had a bit of a temper. So she was, no pun intended here, playing with fire. But at the same time she knew that Adam couldn't really do anything. Except maybe go back to first grade and push her into a pile of leaves? "It's a bad idea to dare me because I'll probably do it." She said, smirking at him a little, before he continued. "Right, right, I'm sorry." She said, throwing her hands up in mock surrender. "I won't call you Addie ever ever again." She had to say it just once more for the spite, but that was alright.
Maddie had been told before that she was scary when she got mad. She didn't have a huge temper, but like anybody, she did get mad sometimes. And people didn't really want to be anywhere near her when she was mad. Though for the most part, she tried to be happy. "Oh, I always assumed you where. Thanks for clearing that up." She was obviously being sarcastic, but she wasn't being rude about that. She knew that Adam wasn't a serial killer. At least she was pretty sure he wasn't. At the same time, people could surprise you. She wouldn't ever be able to do that. She would feel too bad about it afterwords. "Well that sucks." She said, scrunching up her nose. "Oh well. They say things are scarier in the dark." She thought they said that, anyways. "I guess so." She said, glancing around, and trying to see something in the dark. "Though I'd prefer not to g--" She stopped, and jumped a little bit when she heard something that sounded like a stick cracking, followed by some bushes rustling. "What the fuck was that?" She asked, stopping in her tracks.

Adam crossed his arms and lifted his nose, as though her request was completely ridiculous and he was too good to acquiesce. In reality he was sort of interested in try this out but at the same time he knew what happened to people who joined in on plays that people did not deem 'that type of person'. Laughing stock. He was confident in himself enough to avoid feeling bothered when people did it without reason but if he were to actually go through with this it would be warranted. There was something not exciting about being made fun of. Then again, there was a way to work around it. Lying would be involved but it would be within reason. Still he did not want to give in so easily. That would be too obvious. "It doesn't matter what play it is," Adam countered with a snort. He silently agreed with her, though. "We are in highschool so most of the people who will be in the play will probably be talent-less asshats anyway. Waste of time." He flipped his hand to dismiss the topic. That was, until she brought up the prospect of kissing. A wicked gleam flashed in his eyes as he observed her, a playful smirk on his lips. "Oh, is that so?" This was the perfect opportunity to say yes without seeming out of character. "I guess you can count me in on that."
He would just wind up telling anyone who asked that he was forced into doing the play because of the trouble caused in class or something like that. A good cover up. Adam liked to keep his reputation and image in tact, if possible. "I am the sex master. Just ask anyone and they'll tell ya." Wouldn't that be awkward if Madeline did go asking around and she heard a whole bunch of nothing?
Most anyone who was around Adam long enough knew within twenty-four hours what he hated, and his nickname was at the top of the list. He was not exactly discreet with his anger; if you stepped on the right toes you knew. "Yeah," His eyes flashed dangerously. "And you know it's a bad idea to call me Addie. You above just about everyone else." Madeline, Mona, and the family knew better; Molly was simply the only one who could get away with it and only receive a cold stare. The 'mother' title allowed for that. He snarled a bit when she said it again. "You're such a spiteful bitch sometimes, you know that?" Adam snapped with the same ferocity of someone who was actually capable of doing anything about this situation with physical confrontation. He was a scrapper but he had his limits. "You're lucky you're my friend." Which that particular group was in short supply for someone like Adam. He could be a dick but he did silently cherish the people he had. Too bad his mouth and temper got the better of him most times.
He nodded. "Yep, always glad to enlighten people and all that good shit." Always good to know that one of your friends was a serial killer, right? Nice to be in the know and keep up to date with what people were doing in their private lives. "All the body parts are in the basement freezer, if you were wondering." You know, just in case he wound up disappearing and people needed to know what was up. He shrugged and glanced around, wishing that his eyes would adjust more to this intense darkness. The moon was a decent light but not enough to make everything extremely visible. "No it's not. Not really. It's just the woods. It's the same now as it is in the daylight." Logic, right there. Of course Adam was not easily scared by the dark or all of those simple things that a lot of people squealed over. Like spiders or ghosts, those made him laugh. Just as he stepped around a tree, he heard the same noise Madeline did and turned his head in the direction he assumed it came from. "I dunno. Wanna check it out?" Adam glanced at her, waiting to see if she was interested. "Maybe it is a bear. Or maybe it's my partner in crime, the one that helps me with my serial killing. He likes to cut up the bodies."

Maddie knew she was going to be a star. Maybe not right now, but someday. She didn't have the ability to go to broadway, and make the big time - not right now anyways. So she would settle for school plays. That was really her only option right now. And she wanted to be seen. She loved to be on stage, for everybody to see her, to know that she was going to be the star of the show. She was determined for that. Nobody was going to beat her out for the lead - she knew she was talented. And in her mind, one of the most talented to probably even try to audition. She frowned playfully at him. "Except me, of course. I'm going to be the star of the show." she said in a sing song voice, smiling at him a little. Her smile turned to a smirk as he finally agreed. "Perfect! You know what that means, right?" She said, raising an eyebrow at him. "We're going to have to run lines together, of course."
Maddie snorted and rolled her eyes at the next comment. Everybody knew that the more guys talked about sex, the less they probably had. Adam was only fourteen so she really had trouble beliving that he had that much sex. But hey, she wasn't one to judge. Maybe he had, but she knew his brother wasn't like that. Her older brother was friends with his older brother, so she heard stuff about him sometimes. She didn't think Adam was that much of a man whore either. "Oh yeah? Tell me who to ask then?" She said, smirking and raising an eyebrow at him. She was slyly trying to get the truth out of him, the names of the girls he actually had slept with.
Maddie knew that Adam hated his nick name, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to push him just as far as she could. All in fun and good times, but she also knew that Adam had a bit of a temper. She didn't think he would do anything to her except for maybe get pissed and leave, which would probably be worse than just about anything else. She didn't mind being alone, but she wasn't a big fan of being alone in the woods. "I'm sorry I wont ever say it again." She said, laughing a little and shaking her head, before looking at him. "Yeah I know. It's hereditary, I'm sure of it." She said. She knew she could be a bitch sometimes, and she had been called spiteful. Not at the same time, but it was bound to happen eventually. She wasn't the worlds nicest person. "I guess I am lucky for that." She said, smirking at him a little bit. She thought Adam was a pretty cool guy, so in any way, she did count herself lucky to be his friend.
Maddie really couldn't see Adam as any type of serial killer. It just didn't fit his character at all. Sure, he could get a temper, but she couldn't see him just flipping out and killing people. She just laughed a little bit as his comment, keeping her eyes on the space in the dark that she could hardly make out. "Oh, the freezer? That's so not creative. Should have put them under the floor board. It's a lot harder to find that way..." She said, trying to stifle a laugh. Trying to make a funny conversation sound serious. She was actually good at that, though. "Well it may look the same, but what about all the things that only come out at night?" She said, nudging him a little. "You've gotta be a little bit scared." She said, smirking a little, before stopping in her tracks. She didn't want to sound like she was terrified. "Uhm.Yeah, let's do it." She said, moving towards the direction of the sound. "Well good news is, if its a bear, I bet I can out run you." [/color She said, trying not to sound nervous. As she made her way back into the bushes a little bit, and jumped slightly as something made its way out of the bushes. It was a big, black, furry dog. It's fur was all matted, and looked like it hadn't been taken care of in ages. "Aww - Adam! Look!" She said, kneeling down and starting to pet the dog. "He looks scared."
