Enzair sat at the far side of the beach in front of him beyond the academy, behind him the woods. Today Enzair just wanted to get away from the schedule of school. So he came down to the lake to enjoy that peace, he did not mind who came even if it were an water or earthy he will behave himself, the stress of it all was getting to him, he ended the day yesterday rather ill due to the stress that had plagued his body the past week, so the nurse told him to take it easy to breath. Well he could not agree more, so he sat a few yards from the water legs crossed eyes closed, not meditating but enjoying nature as it is, he may be a fire but he sure as hell is no destructive bastard, he won’t destroy nature for fun.
Most of his HS and college career he spent his time hating others, but he found it rather enjoyable to settle down once in a while. Right now he was wishing a party would come to the lake hell that would be fun, maybe a rave, some casual hanging out would be nice too. He eventually cleared his thoughts and opened his eyes now starring at the water resting his chin on his hands. Some might say they saw a whole new person, but even the meanest person has their calm periods and Enzair thought that this as he is now is what they might be… just a thought for all he knew their calm period would be teasing some poor kid. Not that he would care for the meddling bothers of the human kin.
“hmm… should of brought my I-pod” thought Enzair, “perhaps some of that relaxing stuff my sensei would play during our meditation sessions…” Enzair sighed and flopped back into the sand hands behind his head, legs straightened out, he felt his knees pop, "damn been that long already? he thought to himself with a little smirk for a moment.

Joanna walked along the beach, feeling the sand sift between her toes. Sometimes she would just stand there, right in the middle between where the dry sand ended and the water started to make everything damp. She stood on the fine like, squishing the sand with her toes, until the water would flow up and swallow her feet whole. For some reason, it made her think of a shark, surprising someone from behind and then eating them all in one bite. She would then continue walking.
I little ways down the beach she saw a guy laying back in the sand. He looked unfamiliar, so she guessed he wasn't a water elemental. Either that, or he was quite older. Though he didnt look much older. Regardless, he looked approachable. And, thinking about how she had earlier that day dared herself to make five new friends today, that is exactly what Joanna did. Joanna loved daring herself to do things. It was like setting a goal, but when it was called a "dare", she felt more of a need to do it. She could not pass up a dare. She always accomplished everything she set out to do anyways.
Joanna didn't even wait to introduce herself to him, or visa versa, all she did was walk up to him so she blocked his sun and her shadow cast over him, then plop down right in the sand next to him and joined him into looking off into the lake.

Enzair looked up at the newcomer as her shadow was casted over him, without a word she sat down next to him, a little too close for comfort. Sitting up and scooting over a to make more room between them Enzair then asked, “What brings you here this fine evening, my name in Enzair.”
Enzair did not bother to tell her his element because, he was sure she could already tell if not his reputation in the academy as a rather cruel bully towards non fires and thunders will give his element away, or it could give it away as that he was a part of a local band called the Fire Ferrets. Not that their famous or anything yet, they are still in the construction stage, but still their excellent musicians.
While he waited for a response Enzair watched as the small waves beated against the shore created by others mainly water elementals on the other side of the lake closer to the academy from here they seemed like ant’s, but that is just fine because he could not hear them, their voices did not travel far over the water. It made for good relaxation.
Enzair may be a fire elemental but he loves swimming, which is why he wore a sleeveless white shirt and some Element Brand black and white shorts. As for shoes his sandals were a few feet to his left. He had some stylish and expensive sunglasses which were in his pocket at the moment.

Joanna noticed how Enzair was uncomfortable and scooted away. Part of her wanted to enjoy making him uncomfortable, and scoot with him, because it made her laugh to make some people feel awkward, but she didn't feel like it. That wasn't her goal anyways. She gave a half smile. "I was relaxed, yet bored. And you looked relaxed yet bored- so I figured we could be relaxed and bored in each others company." She shrugged.
With just one look from far away, she could tell he was a fire. She could tell he was probably the exact opposite of her, and yet they probably had some similarities. Joanna had never cared about the differences in elementals. Sure, sometimes she was a little frightened of the Thunders, but thats only because of her bad time years ago when she got stuck in a lightening storm. Subconsciously just thinking about it, she moved her hair to make sure it was covering her noticeable scar on her chin.
Sometimes she wondered why she wasn't a Fire, like her brother. She had some of the characteristics of them. Of course, not like her brother, but enough to make her question. But then she realized, it would take a lot for a fire to just go and sit down next to a Water, especially if the possibilities was outright hatred and torment, which Joanna was possibly putting herself into right now. That didn't matter to her though, she was so outgoing, she would try it. She thought if she was a Wind, it would have all been easier and she wouldn't have to worry about Alliances, but she decided she was good being a water.
Wanting the boy next to her to know what she was, without just going out and saying it, she gently pushed the water on the shore line and go higher and higher until it swam around their feet, and dampened the hems of his shorts, and her skirt. It was subtle enough, but she hoped he understood. And then waited for his reaction. Would he go against all odds and just not care?

Enzair just softly sighed and looked away for a moment as she scooted closer. To avoid annoyance he stayed put. He then looked at her when she spoke, “Did anyone ever tell you, you state the obvious?” Enzair joked.
Enzair did not pay much attention when she moved her hair to hide a scar, but he did notice a blemish, but he did not ponder over it. Enzair watched as the water rose up all the way to his shorts. Enzair did not move but he rather enjoyed the cold on his feet. Enzair then stood up slowly and took the sunglasses out of his pocket and took off his shirt, wrapping the sunglasses in the shirt he tossed them over to his sandals and then walked further into the water, up to his waist which would be around his knees if the water elemental did not raise it.
Turning back around he then said, “Bet you never thought you would meet a fire who likes to swim,” he turned back around and began walking deeper till his hands were submerged, he turned back around to face the water elemental, he raised he right hand out of the water then thrust it down at the same time his hand seemed to burst into flamed, when his hand hit the water there was a bright flash in the water, not all that noticeable in the day, and a ton of warm water splashed into the air mainly heading towards the water elemental. Enzair smiled and laughed. It was however the best he could do as a trick with fire and water, the water around him was warm for a second before it cooled back down.
Sure it might be a mistake splashing water onto a water elemental especially since they can do oh so much more than make a large splash of water.
“oh it is too bad you’re not dressed to swim,” teased Enzair with a half smile on his face.

Joanna was surprised. Mainly, she was surprised at his reaction, and his teasing. It wasn't what she usually got from Fires, especially not what she expected from him, but it made her smile. And then she was surprised when the warm water hit her, soaking through her skirt and leaving water spots on her shirt. Normally, she would have been able to stop the water from splashing her, but she hadn't wanted to with this. She wanted the joy of being splashing- which also came with the joy of being able to splash back.
"Cute," she said. "And really, Enzair, who comes to the beach not ready to go swimming?"
She wiggled out of her skirt and pulled off her tank top, tossing them to the ground on top of Enzair's stuff. She was dressed in her pretty blue bikini, and then plunged into the nippy water, not caring about getting her hair wet or anything else. When she came back up, her blonde strands stuck to her face and she smiled wide, as the water around Enzair swirled around him, and then splashed up and over his face, soaking him so that his hair dripped into his eyes.
She waded in the water over to him, slightly tapped him on the shoulder and smiled wide. "Tag, you're it." And then the dived into the water and swam farther out into the lake.

“Well… I never thought of you wearing it under your cloths.” Said Enzair as he watched dive into the water. Unsuspectingly he was drenched in water by the elemental, he closed his eyes and held his breath as she did it.
When she decided to play tag Enzair just raised an eyebrow, it was a child’s game, and he would much rather swim for the hell of it. When she took off Enzair hesitated for a moment before deciding go after her. Diving into the water he swam as fast as he could to catch her, Enzair may not be a water elemental but he was a superb swimmer.
When he caught up to her he grabbed her foot and dragged her down underwater then he took off to deeper waters. Enzair then slowed down and turned around and started some back strokes. The deeper he got the colder the water got. He then began to heat up the cold water around him with his elemental power to control heat.
About now Enzair was in deep water, he could not even see the ground now. When he was younger he loved to swim especially where he could not even see the ground, sure he got in trouble with his overbearing foster parents but he never listened to them. While gently swimming back the winds began to pick up, it made surface swimming colder but hey he is a fire he can just warm up using fire elemental power of heat.

Joanna resurfaced from under the water, and she felt refreshed. She hadn't really gone swimming in a while, and had never imagined that she'd be having fun going swimming with a Fire elemental. Of course she knew that the silly little game of tag was for kids much younger than them, but it was fun. And Joanna always thought that as long as you're having fun, what you're doing doesn't matter in the long run.
Joanna noticed how he would heat up the temperature of the water when it got too cold for him, and an idea clicked in her head. Whenever he started to heat up the water around him, Joanna manipulated it a bit so that it would get a bit colder. She played with it a little bit, and wondered about how he would react to it. For a minute she got scared, and all she could think about was it being something her brother would blow up on her for. She stopped.
Joanna waded in the water. And then she wondered if he knew her brother. They looked like they sort of been the same age, but she wasn't sure. "How old are you, Enzair?"

When the water around him grew cold he compensated to make it warmer, Enzair noticed her momentary reaction when she stopped, he did wonder why she got scarred when there was no reason to as Enzair see’s it, whatever it was, he would ask her later.
“I am nineteen, a sophomore and by the looks you are a high schooler, sure you can cool stuff down but exactly how fast?” said enzair full well knowing he can heat the water faster than she can cool it. With in moments the water around enzair became boiling hot for a moment before he cooled it back down to the waters normal coldness.
“I can make it hotter but then that becomes dangerous for anyone who can’t cool it down fast enough to keep cool and safe,” said Enzair. He was a bit curious of why she asked for his age. It was sort of irrelevant. If she had plans on hooking up with him that would never happen.
Enzair swam a bit closer to her and then asked, “By the way you never told me your name?” he then splashed her a little by smacking the water with his hand, “it is polite tell people your name when they tell you theirs,” Enzair added with friendly sarcasm.

Sometimes she hated to admit it, but she nodded. "Yeah, I'm still in high school. I was curious if you knew my brother, he's you're age, so I'm just gonna take that as a yes that you do. I would be shocked if you didn't." She sort of wanted to end the topic of that right there, but somehow she knew it would pan out into who her brother was and all. If he was friends with her brother though, he probably would have recognized her right away. The two siblings didn't look too similar, but just enough that it was recognizable.
Joanna jumped when the water got hotter, but smiled, she knew he was just fooling around. She tried her best and thinking of what she could do, and when she made the water colder, she started chilling it at the tips of his toes. The chill slowly crept upward until all of the water around him the freezing, exactly how freezing, she wasn't sure what her powers were allowing her at that moment.
"I never told you my name? Must have slipped my mind," it actually hadn't though. She usually avoided telling people her name when she just met them. She wasn't exactly sure why. Part of it was a mysterious thing. She liked the idea of being mysterious, and people trying to figure out who she was, and see if they were interested enough in her to attempted to figure out. Another part of her just shrugged it off a security thing. "It's Jo."

“Oh? So you are Joanna… yes I have met your brother,” replied Enzair. When she made it freezing cold Enzair compensated by overpowering her capability by making it hotter faster than she can cool it. But he only kept the water at a warm temp, if she were to stop using her cooling power surely the water would become quite hot rather fast, but Enzair was ready to compensate if she did stop.
“I don’t know why he hates you so, if I still had my sis… never mind” Said Enzair pausing as it only brought the memory and sorrow. If he still had his sister he would not care if she were a water or earth. He would cherish her, love her, but she was gone from this world. He never even knew what element she was.
Clearing it from his mind he swam to the shallows so he could touch the ground, “Well anyway, you should know water is stronger than Fire, even though your just in high school, if you can surprise him or confront him where there is a lot of water like this lake you will own his ass,” laughed Enzair.
“If he tries to heat up the water it will only fall apart on himself as the hot water would only hit him,” explained Enzair, it was not betrayal thought but he did not like to see sibling rivalry it is a lot like war, so it would only be funny to see his younger sister beat him, just for laughs on Enzair part.

Joanna bit on her lip thinking about it. Unpleasant memories of when they were little passed over her mind. The first few years, everyone was happy. Joanna and Victor loved each other. But when she turned five and he was around nine, whenever their parents turned their backs, his attitude changed. All of a sudden he just became bitter towards her, and she loved him, but he only gave spite back. They'd be at the beach and their mother would turn around and all of a sudden he was grabbing her and holding her under the water until she was close to dead. Things changed for the worse when their parents split, Victor decididng to put the blame all on Joanna. And when they started getting their powers, nothing changed. He just found new ways to torment her. She still loved him though, because he was her brother, and what more could she do?
"I don't know why he hates me so much either," Joanna sighed. "It has nothing to do with our elementals either, it started much before either of us knew anything about our elementals."
She stopped cooling down the water, and began playing with it a bit. Just simple tricks that didn't take much energy, but could possibly take her mind off Victor. But it didn't work. Sighing again, "Sometimes I think he just came into this world backwards. Sometimes I think it was me who came in backwards. I'm not sure why it happened, but he just snapped. On me at least, I'm not exactly sure how he is to other people. And no...I don't want to fight him. Not in the least," she said, not wanting to admit that her big brother scared her.

“Well I aren’t no therapist but maybe I can find out for you, for all you know you could have done something that meant nothing to you but meant the world to him,” Said Enzair as he brushed his hair back with his fingers a few times till every strand was laid back.
Enzair would never know what it is like to have a sibling, since he has lost his a long time ago, so he would never know the feelings she has, the conflict. But if he could change time he will and he would not care if his older sister was a bully to him at all.
Enzair knew Joanna was scared of her brother, mainly because her brother already told him all about the two, well not all but enough for him to know, thinking on that he decided to drop the subject, “Well anyway, have you heard of the academies local band called the Fire Ferrets? I am the founder, it is fire elementals only, but eventually we hope to play for the school board and even something greater,” Said Enzair. He was proud of his band, and even if few are a part of it he will keep it up even if he has to start from scratch again.

She could tell he was pondering something. Part of her wanted to ask him about it, but when he changed the subject she decided against it. She didn't know him that we'll anyways, and considered asking too much would be getting to personal. "Really? Are you guys any good? Let me know when you guys are playing, I'll be sure that I go and watch you guys. Cheer you on."
Even though he had changed the conversation, her mind still lingered on the subject. At first Enzair had reminded Joanna a little bit of Victor. She realized that they had a lot of similarities, but they different. She enjoyed Enzair's company, and had fun being around him. She wondered what her brother would think of the sort of friendship forming between Joanna and Enzair. And she realized- there probably wasn't going to end up being a friendship.
"We probably aren't going to talk again after this- are we?"

“Now that is just speaking too soon, mind you that I don’t like this war between our elements, it changes people for the worst of course it doesn’t really change fires that much as most of us live for war and destruction. I may be cruel to water and Earth by your terms, but it does not mean I hate you guys, it just means I don’t like you, and to gain my trust and friendship will be a long and hard road. And it is mostly true, for the long hall I won’t speak or acknowledge you in front of others, and besides this whole war thing is between you high schooler’s, us College students and grads have more important things to do than have petty squabbles between each other. But there are some of us who just cannot learn when to grow up, your brother is that fine example, he is an college student now, an adult for crying out loud! He just needs to grow up get over the petty sibling rivalry, when you reach your sophomore year of college remember that he will begin to fear you as you then become stronger than him, as water is stronger than fire,” Explained Enzair.
“And really, don’t be afraid to use your powers against him, us fires can get rather carried away it is only a matter of time before he actually harms you enough to send you to the hospital.” Said Enzair before he gently leaned back into the water and slowly swam backwards to deeper waters. The friendship might not last as he had high doubts a water or earth could bare the duel friend/foe relationship long enough to become actual friends. It might be easy for a water but for a fire to befriend a water is hard and needs to be taken slowly, it either might end with the water giving up or the fire calling it off, only time will tell.
