MOURN FOR ME ,
Nell spent a lot of time doing volunteer work, and helping prepare for the masquerade ball was a part of that volunteering. She helped decorate the space, though there hadn't been much to do seeing as the hotel was already very nice. Any way she could help her community, and she would be there with a smile and perhaps too much eagerness. Especially when it came to celebrations. The upcoming event made her buzz around with glee, aiding in preparations and also making her own costume. Never having been to a masquerade, she didn't know what to expect. All she knew about it was what she had learned from Phantom of the Opera and other movies. As a matter of fact, the song seemed to have been stuck in her head for days on end, causing her to sing it under her breath.
When the day finally arrived, she couldn't have been happier. Well, she could have been if her husband could come. Unfortunately he was busy, and though she had accepted the fact that he was always busy a long time ago, she still missed him. However, she still wanted to enjoy the night and her first experience. Nell helped in lighting the candelabras that were placed strategically around, creating a dark ambiance. The ball room of the hotel seemed perfect for such an occasion, even having a stage for the band to perform on. She believed Maple Hollow did a wonderful job putting this all together, from the food to the ball room to the entertainment.
Okay, so she was really really excited about the buffet, fully catered and delicious looking. This she only found out the day of, as she helped move around tables before getting changed. She made the mask herself, gold and red and regal-looking. Her dress, also red, had been purchased however, seeing as she didn't have the time to make one herself. Dark hair cascading around her shoulders in loose curls, she tied a few strands back as she looked in the bathroom mirror as she let a rose grow and twine with the strands of her hair.
When she returned, guests were beginning to trickle in and so she hurried about making sure last minute things she had planned to do were complete. Unfortunately, rushing in heels and a dress weren't very wise things to do, and she almost face-vaulted into someone, before righting herself and quickly saying,"Oh jeez, I am so so sorry, are you okay?" She straightened her mask, the concerned expression on her face near-invisible. What a way to start the evening.
