These are pretty much self-explanatory. Streets, just in case you don't feel like dipping into any of the shops. This can technically count the sidewalks, back alleys, roads, and the like. Anything that isn't an actual shop or location.

If you're visiting an NPC character's house for either a party, a breaking and entering, or some other reason, post the thread here. If it's your own character, though, request a residence in the important threads board and make it there.

If something serious has gone wrong, and it doesn't have to do with the elements, you're likely to wind up here. It's not a very happy place, and despite being white, the walls seem to suck the happiness away like a black hole. Though depressing, it's staffed with a brilliant team of doctors, so recovery is likely.

If things get out of hand and the authorities get involved, there's a good chance you'll end up here. No one likes spending the night in a cell, but it's your own fault if you end up drunk driving or hurting someone.

Maple Hollow's Centre for Recreation and Sports is quite large. As it is the only one in the city it has a large area for sports fields and courts, a pool, and an attached gym for all your sporting and fitness needs. You need a membership of course, but there are different sorts: cheaper ones that only allow use of the pool, ones that include the sports field or gym, and an all-access pass for the most money which allows use of everything. Paid monthly.

Like all good malls, it's got a food court. Some teenagers come here to get a part-time job to fund their rent, and others just to hang out with friends. There are a lot of different stores, so do what you will. Just try not to piss off mall security.

Where America has Starbucks, Canada has Tim Hortons. It's a coffee and donut shop, the food served fresh and the coffee steaming hot. A favorite of the teenagers is the Iced Cappuccino. There are tables, as well, so you can sit with friends and chat.

This is Maple Hollow's largest and most well-known park. It's a beautiful place even in the middle of winter, with a fountain in the centre and plenty of benches. The park owns a large section of forest which is criss-crossed with trails, and there's also an area for mothers to bring their younger kids complete with a set of playground equipment.

The public library might not be as grand or as impressive as the Academy library is, but it's still a pretty decent place if you're looking to take out books for studies or personal uses. There's even a large area with comfortable chairs and an assortment of tables where you can read in the building.

The lake situated closest to Maple Hollow is so large and expansive that the locals use it as a quicker alternative than driving all the way out to the coast for the beach. It certainly looks like one in the summer with all the sun and sand. It's free for local access, but you'll be kicked out if you litter or start trouble.

Burger King isn't the fanciest place, but it isn't all that expensive, either. If you're willing to ingest the massive amount of calories, feel free to pig out. This place is frequented by both middle-class and downtown residents.

Northern Lights is the place you eat out... if you've got the cash to afford it. It's very fancy and dimly lit, which of course means that, for good food, you've got to pay up. It's worth it if you prefer real food over the junk at the burger bar, though.

A nightclub and bar, enough said. You've got to be eighteen to get through the door, and a roomful of drunk, sweaty bodies awaits you. But hey, a few of the Academy students can slip by with a good old fake ID, and get a taste of the nightlife. Crime rate here is high, and most of the upper-class folk turn a blind eye.

Contrary to what most believe, it's not dedicated to playing Blackjack. Rather, it's one of the more upscale bars, which classifies itself as a 'gathering place which allows the consumption of alcohol'. Whatever you call it, you're more likely to see smarter-dressed people in this place than it's dirtier counterpart.

The first and only casino in Maple Hollow, Casino Hollow is definitely an impressive establishment. Gamble at the tables and hang around with friends, just make sure that you don't get too drunk and completely drain your bank account. They'll only laugh at you as they rake in all your cash.

Popular with piercing-sporting teenagers and their friends, the tattoo parlour definitely chose a good spot for business, so close to the Academy. It's right in the midst of the downtown neighbourhood, however, so if you aren't part of the tough crowd, glance over your shoulder every so often.

It's your typical theatre, showing all of your latest flicks at a semi-affordable price. Of course, the price for popcorn and soft-drinks is absolutely ridiculous, but who can resist that buttery goodness? No wonder they're rolling in cash, these people.

Maple Hollow is surrounded on all sides by a wide variety of mountains that are certainly good for the adventurous folk to go on hiking trips. There are a few tourist areas where you can take supervised hikes but for the most part the locals like to rough it on their own.

If you want to go somewhere else, you've got to take the bus, first. Airspace is restricted so that people don't discover the Academy accidentally, so the bus is really your only way out. ALL THREADS OUTSIDE OF TOWN TAKE PLACE HERE.

Because everyone likes the frozen stuff! They defy the norms of society by staying open during the winter and proving their chilly treats all year round, for those crazy enough to want a cone in thirty below weather.

Board Description

This is the small city near the Academy, the only settlement really close enough for people to be able to go on the weekends. It's your typical place, with nightclubs and restaurants, variety stores and cafes. There is an upper-class area featuring a small collection of mansions, a large residential middle-class area, and a seedy downtown center.
