* YEW NOVOTNY SKAARSGARD *
[bio, seventeen, earth, hetero, COMPLICATED]
Yew is a pensive, brooding, secretive, complicated, but sociable individual. People see him as the underground-hipster-intellectual type, though his soft-spoken nature attracts everyone to him. He is inherently kind and trusting, befriends people easily, and is chivalrous beyond imagination. But what lurks beneath is anger, unhappiness, and a deep existential desire for meaning.
FRIENDS || Any and all-- he gets along with everyone, though most of his friends are only surface-ones (at least on his end.) He has a hard time making real connections with people though his very genuine nature forces you to believe that he values you greatly. It's not that he doesn't like people, per say. But his principles force him to only be attracted to people of great intellectualism and depth.
ENEMIES || Though he doesn't fancy a lot of people (even his friends sometimes), he treats everyone with regard. Since he puts on such a convincing smoke screen, even the most rambunctious people don't annoy him. There are exceptions though, to what he can tolerate and who can exploit his ticks.
LOVERS || Currently in a relationship with a girl back home, although the vulnerability and distance of this figure can come and play havoc with his life.

josh&yew.CLICK FOR BIO. I'm not sure Josh is going to like Yew much at all. He doesn't like the snobbish image, intentional or not, and the fact that Yew expects people to be of a certain intellectual level and all that definitely turns him off to the idea of being friendly. He'd meet the standard, most likely, as he's very intelligent, but he wouldn't like him much. Maybe we can spice it up by having it be a mutual thing? Josh could always do or say something that causes Yew's judgemental side to kick in and they could have a tense dislike going on between them.
ashton&yew.CLICK FOR BIO. He likes everyone but it's all a matter of whether Yew would like him or not. He's definitely not the sharpest crayon when it comes to school or any art forms, as Ashton's more into socializing and winter sports. (He's going to drop out and become a pro-snowboarder, I'm thinking). So while Ashton is friendly by default, they might not have much if he's not Yew's type.
rowena&yew.CLICK FOR BIO. Already replied to the PM!
caterina&yew.CLICK FOR BIO. Would he take a drama/theatre class, given his interest in artsy type stuff? She'd probably roll her eyes at his hipster-esque persona but at least we could get something out of them xD More than the others, at least!
Left Belle out since they probably wouldn't interact. I'm willing to thread with any of my characters! We can do more than one thread, just one, none -- all up to you!

JOSH | I can certainly picture a volatile sort of relationship between two smart guys. Unless Josh very explicitly does something Yew doesn't like, Yew doesn't have anything huge against him. I think it'd be fun to explore a like-dislike relationship between the two. Both seem really similar. I think it'd be a nice dichotomy. Like they could call each other out sometimes but appreciate or respect the fact that the other individual is smart and conscientious.
ASHTON | I think they'd work as acquaintances. Yew likes Ashton's easy-going nature so they could have friendly interactions in and around school, but probably not apt to hanging out outside of a classroom atmosphere.
ROWENA | Noted.
CATERINA | Yea! I think a drama class would be really fun. I picture him going to her for office hours/meeting after school and questioning a lot of things. Not sure yet, but this could be a fun teacher/student dynamic.

josh&yew.CLICK FOR BIO. Hm. Not sure how this would work, actually! Josh doesn't do the whole love/hate deal, usually. He tends to be quite firm in what he thinks about a person. Since he doesn't see himself as being above other people he definitely wouldn't like that Yew was the sort that did. If we want to give Yew a definite reason to dislike him, we could always work that out! I'm not opposed to it!
ashton&yew.CLICK FOR BIO. Works for me! Ashton's got quite a few friends that he knows from school but doesn't interact with outside of the Academy so it makes sense.
caterina&yew.CLICK FOR BIO. I can't tell whether she'd approve of this or not, LOL. I think it all depends on how he approaches it. She really can go either way with people >> But I'd be interested in seeing what happened!

welcome back to the site! you know me, it's stark, and before you ask, yes i'm still awesome. i got my characters to show off, but i'm leaving out tom because he's a college professor.
&&NELL if josh doesn't like yew much, nell probably won't make it a point to hang around him. she trusts her husband's instincts about people. of course, she will always be nice and polite, but she won't actively try to become his friend. and they wouldn't have much chance for interaction, her being a college sophomore and all.
&&ALTAIR she will hate him. she generally hates everyone by default, but he's an earth. and she would make it a sport to get him aggravated in some way. i see enemies here, if she can succeed in this. and if she doesn't, she'll just try harder.
&&YEAGER yeager would probably know him, being that they're in the same grade. however, i think yew may be a little too quiet for him to really hang around with. he's used to the rambunctious water elementals. but they can be class buddies. haha. that is, if yew is fine with his sarcastic 'tude.
&&MONA mona is a ninth grade thunder. her mother recently died, and she's been really cold since then. he would probably annoy her, because she's an easily irritable thunder and doesn't like the earth types at all. she'd probably try to zap him, fail horribly because she's a freshman, and then curse him out.
&&ISRAEL israel is an eleventh grade wind. he's not exceptionally smart, really spacey, and withdrawn. he's a nice guy, but that's if you actually take the time to speak to him. it's really up to yew if he'd approach him, that is if issy would be up to his intellectual standards.
