DISTINGUISHING FEATURES Ashlyn doesn't have too many scars, but she does have a small one on the back of her right hand. The diagonal line serves as a memory from when Ash got into her very first fight in the orphanage.
CLOTHING STYLE Honestly, Ash's clothing style is just simple yet cool. Often, she wears blue jeans, a graphic tee with a cardigan or black denim jacket, and black high-top converse or combat boots as shoes. Also, although it is very, very, very rare that you see Ash all dressed up formally, she is capable of wearing a dress if she was forced to. However, don't expect it to be an easy task if you really do want her to.

[ TAKE EVERYTHING FROM THE INSIDE & THROW IT ALL AWAY ]
POSITIVE TRAITS
- SINCERE - Ash gives her all, as long as she thinks its worth doing. If she thinks it's worth it, she will give it her all no matter what situation she's in. She has the set of mind to do things. Ash won't give up on it either.
- OUTGOING - She loves adventure, despite how much she wants to shows it. Ashlyn loves the feeling of doing something fun; adrenaline is her best friend sometimes. Jumping off of a big rock to jump into a river, getting on a roller coaster that is old and rickety, and even sky diving if she could, anything that catches her interest, she'd love to do.
- UNEMOTIONAL - Even while she was young, as she received the news of her parents' death, Ash never showed how she felt. She has become numb to different feelings, but one feeling she has forgotten completely might be love. She was so young when her parents left the world, and she can barely remember a time when she was actually hugged or taken care of well by a person. Mainly the only emotions you can get out of Ash now-a-days are irritation and anger. Nothing more.
- DETERMINED - Ash isn't one to give up on something once she's started it. She will keep on going and going until she can't do anything more. Most of the time, this is one of the many ways that Ash is able to get sick. She just overworks herself too much at times.
NEGATIVE TRAITS
- ANTI-SOCIAL - She hates people. It's that simple. Ash can rarely get along with them because of many different reasons. For one, most people don't enjoy hearing the straight truth, but that's what comes out of Ash's mouth all of the time. Another reason is that Ash isn't the kind of girl who just goes up to a person and tries to be friends with them. It has to be the other way around and that person has to be persistent in order to get along with Ash.
- FRANK - She gets to the point right away. Ash hates beating around the bush, it's a way of trying to avoid the truth. She finds it ridiculous if someone lies just to make sure another person doesn't get their feelings hurt. Life holds bad experiences, and people can't avoid it.
IRRITABLE - Ash can easily get annoyed because not too many things can amuse her. Her sense of humor died long, long ago. Most of the time, if she knows your're annoying her just for fun, she'll just brush it off, but if you're purposely annoying her to get her upset, Ash can definitely blow her top of. That will not be a good sight.- GUARDED - Ash isn't open to people right away. She'd lost her parents at such a young age that now she will refuse to give her trust to a person. She already stays away from people as much as it is, but she doesn't care yet again. It will take patience and time for her to open up.
- STUBBORN - This can go along right with her independence. She refuses to accept help from anyone. If she were ever caught asking for help, it would be an all time low for her. Ash won't allow it, but there will come a time where she has to.
- RECKLESS - If Ash has a challenge, she will take it. She'll go all out on anything and anyone. She can't ever think before she acts. Nothing and no one can stop her either. One day, it's possible this could lead her to her demise.
LIKES
- Skateboarding
- High places
- Drawing
- Quiet places
- Her element
- Dense forests
DISLIKES
- School
- Loud places
- Bright colors
- Her dyslexia
- Showing weakness
STRENGTHS
- ARTISTIC - Ash is able to do amazing details when sketching and can sing smoothly and strongly often. She has an impulse to do something artistic in everything she is doing. She could be doodling in a notebook, humming a random tune, or even drawing on the dirt with a stick. Anything that can keep that part of her brain active.
- STRONG - Both inside and out, Ash has had different beatings by many people she has come across. She can pack a punch as well as she can take an insult. Ash's pain tolerance is considerably high, but she does get hurt like any other person. She just doesn't want to show it too much.
- INDEPENDENT - Ash was raised in a place where she had to look out for herself, and she has been able to do so ever since. She doesn't care about what people think if they wanted to help. She's going to do her thing herself. She won't let anyone else break her many years of self-serving personality.
WEAKNESSES
- DYSLEXIC - Not being able to read quickly right on the spot can be a bad thing at some points. Ash knows this and just hates it about herself. She wishes that it would just go away, but sadly, it's not possible.
- ACADEMICS - This goes hand in hand with her Dyslexia. She just can't do well in classes. She is awful at listening, just because she finds school boring, with the exception of World History.
- VIOLENT - Ash is immensely... aggressive for lack of better wording. She just wants to end things through fists. She isn't afraid or getting in trouble because it doesn't seem like so much of a big deal to her. Besides, she somewhat enjoys having a chance to work out and things of that sort.
FEARS
- LIGHTNING - She doesn't know or even remember how this began. All Ash can remember is that ever since she has been young, every time lighting streaks across the sky, she freezes and can do nothing about it. That's why, during storms, she prefers to be away from people.
- POWERLESSNESS - It goes hand in hand with her dislike of showing weakness. She won't be able to do anything to defend herself had she been powerless.
- DEATH OF A LOVED ONE - Although she doesn't care about too many people at the moment, Ash can get immensely upset if she had to lose someone she can finally care about. She lost her parents already; she can't let it happen again.
BEST MEMORY Ash doesn't have many good memories, in all truth, but her best has to be when she was out in the streets of London in the middle of the night. The young eleven-year-old Ash was just walking around when she heard someone playing guitar. Curiously, she followed the music until it lead her to a teenage boy, who looked to be homeless. She was wary of him, but Ash noticed he didn't seem dangerous. He actually gave her a smile. That night, Ash was able to make at least one friend in London. The two talked about music and sang a few songs until daybreak hit. Since then, Ash has been visiting that guy, who's name was Connor, every night until she had to be moved to British Columbia.
WORST MEMORY Though she can just barely call it a memory anymore, Ash's worst has to be when her parents died. She was only five-years-old, but she remembered the police picking her up from the day care rather than her pretty mum. Ash and the police talked with each other in the police station. The little girl was so shocked she couldn't cry; her face itself was just all out scared. That was when the nice policewoman handed Ash her mum's favorite pewter necklace, did the news finally sink into Ash's young, innocent mind.
LONG-TERM GOAL Ash wants one thing, and one thing only in her life. She wants to become a digital artist and create movies that look so realistic that people would think it really was the real thing. With today's technology, Ash believes it's possible.

HISTORY Ashlyn Grift came into the world on the 20th of November to Kaya and Ryan Grift in London, England as an eight-weeks premature baby. Things were difficult for her right from the start, but however critical her condition was at birth, Ash was able to pull through as a survivor. The young couple was overjoyed to find their baby daughter healthy as she was, being brought home after two months of being in extensive care in an incubator. Ash was really as hard as nails even then. They were all finally able to become an actual family. Or so they had thought.
Things were great for a short amount of time, but after a month or so from little Ashlyn's fifth birthday, her parents were caught in a terrible car accident. It was their small Honda CRV against a large moving van with a drunk driver in the front seat. Ash wasn't in the car because she was staying at the day care for a little bit while her parents bought groceries, but things turned out unexpectedly for the young child. You see, Kaya and Ryan were both only young adults when their parents have died not to long ago as well, leaving Ash completely alone. The officers who tried to break the news to Ash got very little response as the young child couldn't understand entirely, but as one of the female police handed the young child her mother's favorite leather necklace, Ash seemed to get the message that mommy and daddy won't ever be coming back.
Thus, Ash was taken to the orphanage. She was raised there, but was never really close with anyone. In fact, she avoided all of the other kids, staying in her little bed in the corner of the room, staring out the window or drawing what she could see in a small sketchpad she had. As she grew and more kids in the orphanage became annoying and continually picked fights, Ash began learning how to stand her ground. A few punches and bruises were exchanged between Ash, some of the preppy girls, and older bullies, but luckily nothing major. Often times, Ash was punished because she supposedly started the fight, but she didn't care. The punishments were ridiculous chores, and she rarely did them anyways.
This attitude of hers got her into so much trouble that the authorities in the orphanage saw it fit to keep her away from the other kids and not giving her proper meals. Yet again, Ash couldn't care less. She had her own ways of finding food. Often, after everyone had fallen asleep during the night, she would sneak out of the orphanage through the window her bed was set next to and go out into the streets. She taught herself how to pickpocket people for a little extra money for her to be able to get something to eat from her favorite restaurant, Nandos. It wasn't that she was proud of what she had done, but she needed to eat in order to leave, didn't she?
As far as schooling goes, Ash was awful at it. She found out at an early age that reading and writing itself was a very difficult challenge. Often getting teased for her grades, Ash tried to keep calm, but nothing worked. It just resulted in more fist-fighting from the young girl, and more detention as a "lame" punishment. She tried harder and harder, but her little fist fights with others was often a distraction
By the time she was thirteen, Ash was causing too much trouble in her school in England and in the orphanage. So much so that she was going to be transferred to a sister orphanage in British Columbia. There, Ash was at least able to find a little more peace. Not as many fights broke out, seeing that most of the orphans there were much like herself: distant and independent. Ash was able to concentrate more on her drawing skills then and even learning how to read a bit more. Also, as she was able to stay outside during the summer months, Ash was able to find good company with stray cats, but her silent personality continued to stay with her.
It only took a few months, not too long after she turned fourteen, until the scouts from the Academy found her and took her away. Ash was very hesitant in coming to the Academy, but she didn't care soon enough and complied to the scout's order. That was how she ended up here, in a place where there were alliances and wars were held. Though she still gets annoyed with most people, Ash tries to avoid that by isolating herself with most kids. Hopefully the rest of her years here will be just peachy.

SECRET WORD Correct.
RP SAMPLEDestine was walking on the campus roads one morning enjoying the crisp autumn weather, one morning enjoying the scenery ahead. A slight zephyr blew leaves with the prevailing patterns of red, orange, and yellow along the air, gliding as if almost air resistantly. Breathing in the scent of the leaves all around her, Destine smiled contentedly to herself. As leaves crunched under her black combat boots, Destine sighed delightfully. Today was a good day for her. Well, for now at least. No bad memories returning in her mind to haunt her, no scaring anyone away with her awkward personality, just a regular morning that Destine always wished to have, and now, she was enjoying it.
The young sixteen-year-old wasn't wearing anything crazy today, which is unlike her. Instead, she wore a graphic long-sleeved shirt with one of the sleeves ripped at her elbow. Along with that were some normal blue jeans and, as I've said before, black combat boots with buckles clinking at every step she took. On her head, Destine wore a light blue beanie that covered the base of her dark brown hair. As the wind blew, Destine felt her wavy hair sway lazily with the wind.
Perched on her shoulder, awake and alert, was Eon, Destine's sugar glider companion. To Destine, she found it awkward that he sat up so awake, considering he was nocturnal. Normally, he was getting ready to sleep at this hour. Suspecting something might have been wrong, Destine slowed her walking pace and tried to cast another sideways glance at he pet. "What's wrong, Eon?" she asked him, petting his small head. Of course no reply came, but Destine heard the small mammal snort. Rolling her eyes, Destine continued to walk up the path. Suddenly, though, the wind picked up.
As the calm zephyr turned into a sudden gust, it blew Destine's beanie right off her head. You can only guess she would do the natural; she ran after it. Because the beanie was so light, it didn't take much of the wind to make it airborne. The further it glided down the path, Destine then suddenly noticed her hat heading straight for another camper. Oddly enough he seemed to have heard her because he stood there smiling. Walking now instead of running, Destine could only watched as her beanie went straight for the boys' face.
Just by the time her hat had reached the boy, the gust died down and returned to a soft breeze. "Really?!" she muttered to herself spitefully. On her shoulder, Destine heard Eon squeak quietly in what she guessed was supposed to come out as a snicker. She simply just hushed him as she walked over to the boy. "Sorry about my hat," she muttered quietly as she approached him with a slight bashful look, "The wind just sort of blew it away."
