OTHER abby neville - her father's fiance, fire elemental, currently a stay-at-home wife.
HISTORY The defining life in Blythe's life was definitely the divorce of her parents. Her parents had conflicting views on the human world. Her mother loved humans and spent so much time around them that she came to feel like a freak for having elemental powers. Her father thought humans were for the most part dull and boring (the only interesting humans, he said, were to be found in politics - and then only a rare few of them) and looked down upon elementals marrying humans and otherwise weak lineages. Her parents fought so much about this seemingly insignificant topic that they got a divorce when Blythe was 5 and her mother left for the mortal world. Blythe loves her mother (a very significant thing, since Blythe uses the word "love" to describe very few of her relationships with others) but unfortunately for her, contact with her mother is sparse. The last time she met her mother face to face was when she was 12, and she's lucky if her mother calls her or writes her once a month. Without her mother's influence, her father raised her on his own - which turned out not to be the best thing. He showered her with gifts, but was rarely home, instead hiring nannies to take care of her - which, taking her cue from The Sound of Music, she then proceeded to play countless pranks on. Otherwise, she had a sheltered life and was never a troublemaker - never did drugs, never drank, never got tattoos (mainly because she had no friends to partake in such behaviours with.)
She was a late bloomer when it came to her powers - which made her father worried. She knew about the Academy from a young age, but as the years past, both she and her father considered it less likely that she would be attending. Around the age of 13 however, the way she interacted with electricity - or, more accurately, the way electricity interacted with her - changed in a hardly noticeable way (she never got shocked when she shuffled across the carpet in socks, rubbing a balloon on her hair didn't make it stand on end, etc.) The first time she ever really manipulated electricity was when she was 14 (shortly before she came to the Academy) - when she got into a screaming match with a nanny and was so full of emotion that she caused a nearby lightbulb to shine so brightly that the filament caught fire and the lightbulb was rendered useless. Blythe freaked out and quickly called her father at work, who - much to her surprise - was overjoyed. Her father quickly fired the private tutor who had been teaching her and began to organize her attendance at the Academy.

SECRET WORD correct
RP SAMPLERory had never really thought about the concept of having a room mate before. I mean, of course she knew she was going to have one when she was accepted to Willow McKenzie. Even before she knew she was going to be attending a boarding school in America, she knew that she would have a room mate when she went off to college for her A levels and then later at uni. But she never really considered the implications of what having a room mate meant.
A room mate shared their freaking living space with you. They would notice all the little things you had forgotten about yourself - the way you eat, the noises you make in your sleep, the odd little habits that came out when you were bored. Overtime, they’d come to know every weird, disgusting quirk you had. And they weren’t a member of your family, which meant that they didn’t have to love you unconditionally despite your gross habits. That thought was terryfying.
Rory knew who her room mate was - a girl named Maddie Rutherford. She had even talked to her online a bit. But she had absolutely no clue what she was going to be like in person. So as Rory opened the door to her dorm room for the first time, she was nervous as hell and had absolutely no freaking clue what to expect.
