DISTINGUISHING FEATURES She has three tattoos. One tattoo of the letter V that represents her and her grandmother's spirit combined, since her name 'Vera' and element was from her late grandmother. The second tattoo is of a star on the left side of her lower pelvis, something she and her best friends got for fun. The third is a tattoo of the words 'Made From Nature', something referencing her family which were mostly made up of Elementals, her mother as well being an Earth Elemental.
CLOTHING STYLE Vera is more into the latest and hottest fashion for that season, so seeing her around in different outfits and get-ups isn't surprising. City/street fashion is the majority in her lovely closet and has a tendency of wearing a lot of pastel and pretty colors during the day while her black and dark earthy outfits tend to fit her better during night. Even though Vera seems to like tight fitting jeans and tops, breathable and longer shirts with comfortable shorts make her feel happy as well as breathable leggings. From denim jeans to leggings and band t-shirts to leather jackets, she enjoys them all and isn't afraid to show them off.

BEST MEMORY When she received her high school diploma. As childish or as weird as it sounds, Vera's first real main goal was to get through high school without having the urge to drop out. Her parents wanted so much more for her and expected the utmost best from her as well as showed her so much love when she did succeed, so that diploma was more of a present for her parents but still made her feel almost complete... until they mentioned college, of course.
WORST MEMORY Loosing her grandmother to breast cancer when she was eighteen.
LONG-TERM GOAL To be better as a whole, than what she once was when she thought of this goal.

HISTORY
Vera was born into a family that was based on love and peace. Both of her parents met in college in Canada and went on to get married with a goal of living the rest of their lives in New York City. Her mother's side was Dominican with a long line of Elementals, majority of them being Earth while her father was Native American who had a complete mixture of different Elementals, his mother, Vera Nua being one of the most powerful Wind Elemental in their family. It was a secret that both of them kept from each other until the time that both of the two got into a heated argument (which rarely happened) and caused the whole neighborhood to experience an earthquake. By the way, New York City doesn't get earthquakes... at all.
Months passed by and the two did so happen to get married and became pregnant with a blessing. Around this time, Serenity had started up her fashion line with the help of her husband Joshua and moved into their own huge property as well as move Joshua's mother, Vera Nua in since his father died from cancer. He wanted to make sure his mother was as close to them as possibly, which was a good thing because Vera Nua helped a lot with Serenity's pregnancy as well as to make sure her son kept on with making sure that Serenity's fashion line and his law firm were running smoothly. As well as making sure that Serenity had been keeping her connection with her element daily, especially with the new baby, she'd need that guidance and soothing peace throughout her pregnancy.
Though the name of the child hadn't been announced, once it was time for Serenity to go through labor and deliver the child, the married couple made it clear that the new baby girl would be named Vera Essence, after her grandmother and one of the Native American spirits. No one was quite sure if this child would be an elemental so the parents raised brought her up and raised her as if she was going to be a normal child, just in case. Vera had been taken care of by her grandmother while her parents went back into work and was even close to being home schooled when she became of age but her parents wanted her grandmother to have some peace to herself and had put her into a well known private school in upstate New York. Vera wasn't raised to be spoiled but she did appreciate everything that was given to her, if she deserved it. So for the most part the little girl was well behaved until she started to develop her own personality and despite the fact that she looked just her father, the girl was starting to have a mixed personality of both parents. She loved to be adventurous and go exploring with her friends, playing around, unleashing pranks but also had a headstrong side that didn't allow herself to give up and when she did give up it wasn't for long and she would always dive back in, head first. Which is why they started their little princess off in gymnastics at the age of six, it was the perfect addiction for Vera and surprisingly the girl had a graceful flow to her moves as well.
Once Vera started growing towards her preteens, she started to get into a bit more trouble than what her parents were used to. Like hanging with guys that she liked but her parents didn't, staying out past curfew and getting detention for styling her school uniform into something more... 'revealing'. It was a bit too much for them to handle since they had a lot on their plate everyday so they did do the minor disciplinary but left the heavy stuff to her grandmother and her grandmother's 'groundings' were more like long and boring teachings with hours and hours meditation sprinkled on the top. Vera hated this and wasn't one to sit still but she had no choice to. During the age of fourteen the proof of her being an Elemental had surfaced during a heated argument with her mother over wanting to see a concert and staying a week over her friends but her mother disapproved. Her grandmother had witnessed the sudden gust of wind that blew in every single door in their huge house, the older woman knew what it meant because she had once gone through the same development.
With that, the family had a talk with Vera about her being an Elemental, how they all grew up with this knowledge of their histories and new rules concerning her new abilities. She followed most of this even though she did break a rule every now and then but her grandmother had always been there to guide her. Around the time that Vera turned eighteen, her parents also mentioned how they would take a quick move to her their birth place, in Canada. With Vera's behavior and new secrets, they couldn't risk them staying in a city that might get attention put on them if something had happened by accident. The young girl didn't like the idea of moving out of the United States and leaving her friends just to live in some weird Elemental community in some weird place called Maple Hallow. Honestly it was all stupid to her but she went with it only because of the fact that she had recently graduated High School and wanted to move onto bigger and better things... like College. Though, once they started their long process of moving, her dad and grandmother came to Vera and her mother with horrible news about how Vera Nua suddenly developed breast cancer.
As if leaving her friends weren't enough, the fear of losing her grandmother landed on top of that. It wasn't long before her grandmother lost the fight once they were months settled into their new home. Vera had just lost one of her best friends and her body didn't know how to cope with it. It was as if she had never felt emotions before and this caused her to break down. For weeks, Vera did not once leave her room and her parents couldn't blame her. Their daughter was much much younger and she couldn't mourn as well as they could but they gave her all the time she needed until she was ready for college. They hoped that her college years would be better for her since they figured out ways to get her into a college that was focused on a student's education but also had people just like them. That way they knew their daughter would be among similar people like her, at this point Vera hadn't objected but didn't really agree upon it either.

RP SAMPLEThey stung. Their focus never faded from Sergio... but they stung.
Her eyes stung but her body was starting to find comfort in it because it wouldn't go away. For some reason, it wouldn't go away and now she would have to get used to it... until she could calm down, emotionally of course. The mixture of no sleep and tears made it a bit difficult to focus, it made her powers uneasy to use but as long as she kept calm, she wouldn't have to worry. Calm was something hard to keep. The moment she heard that Sergio and Professor Munroe had ended up at the mansion in a state of 'injured', well even injured was an understatement. Jade had been studying at the time and... and all she could remember was that she had simply blanked. It was a weird habit of Jade's, a fear that her parent's deaths had triggered and it wouldn't go away. To know that those two could have died, to hear that Sergio, someone who she cared too deeply for could have died? It didn't settle easy for her and that right there had caused her to rush to the Medical Wing but even then, they wouldn't allow her to visit him. The nurses recommended that she had to come back later and that didn't fly to well with Jade but after she got tired of arguing she did indeed listen and go back to her room.
During all of that time she had to herself Jade had laid in her bed without much sleep, trying to remind herself that he was going to be just fine. Right? Though the rattling and shifting of the items in her room had said different. Sergio had now been her main source for her emotions and emotions that weren't stable equaled her powers acting out of line. The phone call she had gotten later on from one of Sergio's men didn't make things better either because now she was given word of something... of something that she couldn't even handle herself, so how would she able to tell Sergio and then sit there and see how he'd react to it. She couldn't do it, this was the first time in a long time that she couldn't handle all of this... fuckery of events.
Now she was here, breathing normally, as calm as she could be at this moment in her grey Iron Man graphic tee and grey sweatpants. Her brown eyes stung but she would sit in this chair and watch over Sergio as long as she had to, regardless if she had already been there longer than any one human or mutant could take. Last time she had seen him hurt was with baby scratches compared to now, she had taken care of him and never wanted it to happen again... sentinels had hit harder than any Brotherhood member that she had ever seen.
Storm! Storm!...
Sergio's sudden outburst had taken Outburst off guard. Surprising, huh? She jumped slightly but it was a sign that he was awake and that made her heart settle then beat even faster. Her hand gently placed over his giving him an assurance that he was alright and soon he realized it and she knew this because he made her smile and that made her push back tears as best as she could.
Her voice wasn't normal. It had been a bit raspy and as shaky as a settling earthquake, the girl was a mess."Let's hope heaven is better than this, besides... they can't have you yet." She quickly wiped her face with the other hand, Jade promised herself that she wouldn't cry in front of him, she wouldn't...
"...morning sleepyhead."She let out a shaky and short chuckle. It was actually between afternoon and evening but if she hadn't looked at the clock Jade wouldn't have been able to tell and she doubt he knew either way.
