HISTORY Scarlett was born in a very small town, and throughout her whole elementary days, her home life was perfectly normal. She and her twin sister, Margot, were best friends and a perfect replica of each other. But around age eleven, their parents starting fighting. At first, it was just arguments, but the girls never knew what they were arguing about. By age thirteen, though, their fighting had turned physical, and both parents started taking their frustration out on the girls. Both of them would go to school beaten and bruised, and everyone just pretended not to notice.
But one night, it went too far, and they were close to killing Margot and they didn't even realize it. Scarlett wasn't home at the time, she was at a friend's house. When she got home, she found her sister dying on the floor and her parents trying to figure out what to do with her. Thirteen year old Scarlett became so filled with hatred for them that her ability of wind exposed itself and she almost blew the house down. Both of her parents were knocked back against the wall and blacked out and she called the police. Her parents pretended not to know anything and didn't know how Margot became so beaten. After a few nights in the hospital, her heart failed and she died.
That night Scarlett moved out of her parent's home and moved in with her uncle, who also has the elemental power of water, and she's been with him ever since. He introduced her into the Academy of the Elements and he helps her control her power the best he can at home.

RP SAMPLEFrom Always. v2Lizzy’s footsteps were silent. Her insomnia was getting the better of her tonight. Of course, she hadn’t slept in nine years, so why start now? Lately she’d found herself wandering toward the astronomy tower at nighttime. Somehow she felt a connection to the stars, since they were both the only ones who could manage to stay out so much later than the rest. Of course, even the stars manage to outlast Lizzy, but she found company up there all alone in the tower with them. And tonight was no different than any other night. She never changed into any type or pajamas or nightgown, there was no point. She only lay in bed for maybe three hours each night, and even then it wasn’t very restful. So all of the night clothing that she had brought from home was kept away in her suitcase under her bed, where it had been since the first day she got there.
She hadn’t checked the time in a while, but she could tell by her eyelids drooping that it was time to go back to her dorm. Even though she knew the prefects were usually roaming the castle in search of students like her, she’d never been caught. Well, she technically was caught once, by a professor, who luckily took pity on her and decided not to punish her. Lizzy fully intended on never saying anything bad about that professor ever again. Not that she had said anything before. Although her eyelids were heavy, the rest of her body and her mind were not tired yet, so she decided to take the long route back to the dorms. It was probably a reckless idea, considering the prefects and professors who might be roaming about in search of her, but she overruled her conscience tonight.
The dark had never been something that bothered Lizzy. Even though she could easily use her wand as a flashlight, she decided not to. It had taken a while for her eyes to adjust to the dark, so why spend time disoriented by making a sudden bright light in her face? The last thing she wanted to be at this time of night was to be disoriented, no matter for how short a time. So she continued down the staircases and corridors in the pitch black darkness of night until she reached the ground floor. She considered going outside, but decided against it. She didn’t want to accidently wind up in the Forbidden Forest because she was too tired to tell which direction she was going. As she continued to walk, though, she suddenly caught the sound of footsteps that didn’t belong to her. Her sleepiness suddenly vanished from her and she was alert, her eyes wide and searching for the person to whom the footsteps belonged.
Following the sound of the echoing footfalls, she turned a few more corners until she spotted a light from a wand. Lizzy could tell by the hair and the shape of the silhouette who it was. She was walking in the opposite direction and hadn’t yet heard Lizzy, so she waited to see where the prefect was going. Actually, it was more of stumbling than walking. She had planned to turn and walk the other way, and to find another path back to the dorms – hopefully before she made it back – except the sound of a thud and a dropped wand caught her attention. Turning back around to see her, Lizzy turned in just enough time to see Andromeda sliding to the floor, moaning. So much for not getting caught tonight, she thought grimly. She could have easily left Andromeda there, disoriented and in pain, but she was a fellow Ravenclaw, and Lizzy (even though she looks emotionless and a bit hateful sometimes) couldn’t leave her behind. She sighed, walked still silently with her bare feet to the prefect, lighting her wand on the way, “Lumos.” She spotted the girl’s wand now that she could see, which had rolled away when she’d run into the hourglass, and she turned back to Andromeda and handed it to her. “You really should be more careful. You are the prefect after all.”
