No, that won’t do… Flipping his pencil, he erased the line he had just made. Benny was very artistic and wanted to make sure the final results were perfect. He had just sketched a tree with snow covered branches. Ben was very good with drawing things off of memory, especially off of the fresher ones. He had seen the tree as he was walking to Tim’s. The wind elemental didn’t know what gave him the motivation to draw the tree. He guessed he just felt like it. Setting his pencil down, Ben took a sip of his coffee. The day, so far, has been what Ben considered “the usual”. Nothing special had happened to the wind boy just yet. Nothing terrible either. He woke up, got ready, and then he left to go to Tim Hortons.
He didn’t feel like socializing with any fellow wind students during the morning. Sure, he said “hi” to them, but didn’t bother to get into a conversation. Resting his cup of coffee back down on the table, he went back to his drawing, carefully outlining it darkly. His goal was to make it comic/cartoony looking, but also detailed. Suddenly, somebody bumped into his shoulder, causing Ben to screw up. Eyes widened, he instantly went to erasing his line he had made. Once done, Ben sighed. His eraser wasn’t good enough; he could still see the line. He couldn’t scribble it out, because that would just make everything worse.
Turning his head, he looked to see who the culprit was. It seemed like every time he came to Tim’s, an asshole bumps into him. It wasn’t fair? What did he do to deserve that? Absolutely nothing. Looking up at the ceiling, he thought, At least next time please make them small enough for me to take down. You don’t always gotta send these immature young adults at me. It’s not fair. On the bright side of things, whenever there was an ugly sight, there was a pretty one to go with it. One of the big reasons he always chose to go to Tim’s was because there were always some gorgeous girls hanging about. Not to mention, there were also quite a few of brunettes always there too. Hell, he had been going to Timmies so often that one of the ladies working at Tim’s remembered what he usually orders. It made things a whole lot faster when someone remembers what you normally order.
Another major reason he went to Tim’s was that it was a quick escape from the cold. Winter wasn’t really ever Ben’s favorite season, mainly due to the coldness. He liked feeling warm better than he did cold. Plus, winter never really gave him a lot of muse to draw. One thing Benny loved to do was draw and most of the time, he needed muse. Snow was just white and boring. He needed colors and life. That was a major reason on why he liked fall the most. He loved drawing the leaves. They were just so colorful and nice to look at. During the winter, there were no leaves. During the summer, most of them were just green. During the fall, the colorful leaves started to fall and fly with the wind. Nature had always been one of his main sources for muse.

Seriously, why couldn’t anybody give him a break? Benny was just sitting there and drawing, minding his own business, yet the same guy bumps into him again, clearly on purpose. As the guy and his friends walked out of Timmies, Ben shot him a glare, though it didn’t seem like the guy noticed. Once the guy and his laughing buds walked out though, the wind student’s eyes met a pretty sight. It was a cute blonde. He normally preferred brunettes than blondes, but there was just something about her that he found very attractive. He could have sworn he saw her in the academy one time. It was a somewhat familiar face, he could say that. Ben was never good with names for some reason. Unless he had their number or hung out with them often, he had a hard time remembering the names that connected with their faces.
Anyways, returning to his work, he gave a mental note to himself that he’d have to try to talk to her before he left. Erasing his messed up line again, he went back to work. Ben felt like listening to music for some reason. With all the chatter that was going on, he needed something to block it all out so he could concentrate. Benny was never really good with ignoring his surroundings for some reason. He needed something louder, something more distracting, to knock out his surroundings. Now what would he listen to? Breaking Benjamin? Three Days Grace? He could go on and on about which band to listen to, but he considered it pointless since all rock bands were considered good bands. He could draw sticks? Perhaps he could write down all the band names on sticks and draw one? But, that would take forever and it would be unnecessary.
He’d just use his little friend “shuffle”. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his I-pod. It wasn’t new, but it worked. Placing it on the table, Benny started to reach under his chair to zip open his backpack for his ear buds. Before his fingers could touch the zipper, his table reached the population of two. It was that cute blonde. Huh, that was very fortunate. Setting the thoughts of his drawing and his music aside, he replied, “Hey”
. Putting on a smile, he asked as she sat down, “How’s it going?”Ben took a sip out of his coffee. What was she? Was she a freshman? Was she in his grade? She couldn’t be older than him, could she? Nah, he didn’t think so. He’d be surprised if she was though, especially if she was a good year or two older than him. Benny didn’t consider himself lucky or a good guesser, so he’d just have to wait and see if the conversation would lead to those answers. “I’m sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. Ben Woods.”Taking another sip out of his coffee, he added, “And the lovely one I’m talking to would be…?” See, now if Ben knew her name, he could stop addressing her in his head as “cute blonde”. Now Ben wasn’t good at remembering names, but perhaps her name would be a name he’d remember? Another thing he’d have to bring up later is if she went to the academy or not. That would obviously end up with the element topic, which was one thing he was looking forward to. He knew for sure she wasn’t a fire. His gut just said so. Ben had a feeling she was an earthie, but then again, he was a terrible guesser.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

she said with a smile. Karina hoped that mentioning the lake would spark a memory of her in his mind, or if he had only seen her a few times before, give away the fact that she was a water elemental. Hopefully then he would tell her what he was, for some reason she couldn't make a proper guess, he could even be one of the few friendly fire's for all she knew. "What about yourself? What are you up to on this fine afternoon? she asked being polite. Karina always believed it was important to let the other person talk in a conversation. People tend to get very annoyed when they never get a chance to speak. She felt a bit awkward when he introduced himself and asked for her name. Sure, she knew there was a slim chance that he knew who she was, but she still would've felt better if he had known her. |Karina Parsons she said with another smile, holding out her hand to shake his. She hoped that he didn't find her creepy, or else everything that she had just done would have gone to waste.[/ul][/blockquote]

Ah, so she was a skater, eh? He couldn’t remember the last time he went skating. He recalled he wasn’t too fond of it. Maybe it was because he was bad at it. Now that he thought back, he remembered that his mother had signed up his brother and him up for classes. They were quite young, so maybe it was because the young wind boy threw a fit after falling or something. Ben wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. Would he try skating again? He didn’t know. He probably wasn’t going to do it in his free time like the pretty girl in front of him would. He probably would try it again if a situation called for it. He’d probably suck at it though.
“I haven’t done really much today. I came here and that’s pretty much it,” he replied, but then remembering something, he continued, “Oh wait. I also practiced my guitar for a half hour or two. Yeah, nothing really exciting.”
He chuckled at the end of his sentence. Nothing really big has happened to him in the past two days actually. They were pretty much the usual. Sometimes the usual days were nice though, especially if the days that weren’t the usual were bad. He’d rather have a non-exciting day than a horrible day. That was what pretty much everyone would choose, right? Ben couldn’t imagine himself actually wanting a crappy day. Reaching out, he shook her hand, not having any problem with it. Karina? What a lovely name. It fit her. She, to him, looked like a Karina. She also looked like an “Emily” too, but that was just him. Alright, he thought it was time he started talking about if the academy. It was really bugging him, since he didn’t know what element she was. It didn’t really matter to him what element she was, but he was just curious. It was now between water and earth. Maybe it was because she liked to skate that made him lean towards her being water. Turning his head, Ben looked to see how many people were paying attention to their conversation. Everyone seemed to be in their own conversation, so that meant no one was listening in on them. Returning his attention back to Karina, he asked, “So you go to the Academy, right? I’ve seen you in the halls before, I believe.”Benny made sure he was talking loud enough for Karina to hear, but not too loud that everyone else could hear in their conversations. He knew it was probably bad to be talking about the Academy in public, but as long as he kept the parts about being elementals on the down low, he thought that it would be okay. In a quieter tone, he asked, “So what are you? I’m a wind soon to be eleventh grader. What about you?” He was quite curious on what she was. [okay, so I’m pretty sure she’d say “yes” or something to the academy question, so it’s alright that I just assumed she’d say something like that, right? If not, tell me, I can change it for you. ^^ Sorry for the short and crappy post btw D:] [/blockquote][/blockquote]
