The sun rose slowly over the horizon, shining brightly through the window. Marcus groaned ever so slightly, trying his best to cover his head from the light. The sound of his roommate rising from his bed could be heard and he lifted the sheet ever so slightly, opening one eye and he noticed him walking into the bathroom. Great, it would be a while before he could shower. Sitting up in bed slowly, he stretched, arms reaching high above his head before sighing and scratching his neck. Glancing out the window, he could see a few students heading to class and he was so glad that he had nothing to do today. It was his lazy day, as most Friday’s were and it was nice to be able to just take a break from everything. Standing, he made his way to his desk, opening his laptop to check his mail. He sorted through it, deleting spam messages and such before replying to the emails he had from family. Most of them were from his parents but there were a few from old friends who had left for college elsewhere. He smiled, typing back to them quickly and hitting send, hoping to get them all done within a few minutes.
His roommate finally finished in the bathroom, coming out in a towel and looked to Marcus. ”Hey, do you have any more of that body spray…the Calvin Klein stuff?” he asked. Marcus nodded and reached over into his bag, pulling out the cologne and tossing it to his friend. His roommate smiled and said a quickly thank you and Marcus looked away so he could change. Closing all the open tabs, Marcus stared at his computer back ground. It was of him and his friend Sam Hill, someone he had met a year before when he was a freshman in college and she was just a junior in high school. He smiled a little, tilting his head as he looked at her, the smile on her face was genuine. It was of them during an outing for the earth students and they had gotten permission for Marcus to attend even though he no longer attended the high school. During the outing, he hung out with Sam, laughing and joking around the entire time. Spending that time with her had really made him realize just how good of friends they were and had even made his realize that his feelings maybe stronger than he had thought. Now, looking at the photo, he couldn’t help but grin as he stared at her face. He liked her. A lot. And today, he would admit it to her. Sure, she probably knew from how much they flirted and hung out. They had even had those moments where their hands would linger next to one another’s. Now was his chance to put it out in the open and hope for the best.
Hurrying into the bathroom, he stripped down out of his sweats and boxers before starting the shower. The water fell, hot and steaming and Marcus stepped into it, sighing at the feeling. It was amazing, the heat on his body making him shiver as he began to scrub his body and head. If he had more hair, he would wash it but of course, he didn’t. He kept it short in order to keep from having to worry over it. It was easier that way. Hurrying through the process, he finished and climbed out, drying off before walking into the room, towel around his waist. His roommate tossed the bottle of cologne to him and he sprayed himself and tossed it onto the bed next to him before pulling on some boxer briefs under his towel. Tossing the towel away, he pulled on dark jeans and a white button up shirt, rolling the sleeves up just below his elbows and letting it hang out. He looked casual but nice, enough to make girls heads turn and he knew it. Yet, the only thing he truly cared about what for Sam to notice, especially today. Placing on socks and shoes, he turned to his roommate and smiled. ”So, what do you think?” he asked. He was nervous already and he felt the need for a second opinion all of a sudden. ”Looks great. She is going to like you dude, stop worrying. Besides, you have known her long enough for her to know the truth and I am sure it will work out the way you want.” Marcus nodded and smiled a little, exhaling and shaking his arms and head. ”I am glad to have you around, you know that?” he said and his roommate laughed, tossing up a thumbs up before dropping down on the couch and flipping on the TV to play the Xbox. Marcus hurried to finish and once he was done, he left the room, hoping this all went well.
As he made his way down the hallway, Marcus got out his phone and typed in Sam’s name on the screen, finding her number and beginning a new text. Hey, you in the mood to hang out in the gardens? I have no classes and thought we could chill. He smiled a little and prayed she would say yes to hanging out. He needed to tell her how he felt and what was on his mind. Of everyone he talked to, Sam knew he best. She knew about the death of his brother, about how his parents were rarely around, and even about his plans for the future. He couldn’t think of anything she didn’t know and it was how he liked it. He had finally found someone he could fully confide in and someone who he was confortable around. He just had to know if she had mutual feelings. If she did, he was going to take the chance to ask her to be his girl. Normally, he was not this open. Normally, he would have given up already, deciding that it was best to keep this to himself but he couldn’t risk losing his chance. It was now or never. He stopped just outside the garden, making sure she wasn’t already there and when he saw that she wasn’t, he walked in and stood nearby a tree in the corner. Silence enveloped as he began to practice what he would say in his head. With each second, his nerves increased. Hand on his phone, he waited patiently for her reply.

As soon Samantha woke up in the morning she knew that this was going to be a really weird day for her. To start off with her Dad was actually home and made her breakfast, which he had never done before, then her mother gave her 20$ to spend on whatever because she though that her own attitude to school and stuff and changed or whatever, she wasn't really paying attention once she had the 20$ bill in her hand. Than as soon as that as over she just went back up stairs to go back to sleep. The one thing that really only seemed to be the same was the fact that her dog had slept on her bed all right and was the one to actually get her up that morning, even though she was ale to sleep. Samantha had a lesson of frees on Friday, even though she would rather it be in the afternoon so that she get home from school really early and go back to sleep or at least hang out with her friend, Marcus. The two of them had been friends for ages and she couldn't remember the last time that they hung out. As she hopped out of bed she put her hair up in a simple ponytail and slowly walked over to her computer desk so that she could work on a little of her homework.
After a bit she finally realised that it was 8-ish in the morning and that it was around time that she started to go through her daily routine, you know. Going in the shower, getting dressed, the drying of the hair, so on and so forth until she looked like she was ready. Picking up her bag and walking down stair she found out that she was, just like most days, alone in her lovely and empty house. Grabbing the bottle of milk she took the top of, grabbed a glass and poured half a cup full of the white liquid. As soon as she drunk that she grabbed an apple and rushed out of the door, grabbing her keys on the way out, and sat down in her car. Just as she was about to start up the engine all she could feel was the vibration of her iPhone in her jean back pocket. Grabbing it out of the pocket she entered her pass code and read the message she had just received. Smiling as she read the message she began to write him a reply.
Hey hey Marc (: I would love to hang out, give me a minute thou. I only just got into my car Meet in the usual place!
Closing her phone she began to wonder what he wanted to talk to her about, considering that he sounded like he want to talk. Letting that go, she revved up her car and began her drive toward her school. As soon as she reached the school, she parked her car in the car park, grabbed her messenger bag then began to walk toward the school gardens, her favourite place on the whole campus, but only he knew that. As soon as she had reached the gardens she just began to look around to see if she could see him.

The feeling of his phone going off in his pocket had Marcus' nerves on end. He read it slowly and smiled, texting back only to say 'okay' before closing it and sitting down on a bench. What was he going to say when she arrived? Would he stand and hug her? What if she didn't want to him to hug her? What if she didn't like him anymore? The thoughts were ridiculous, he knew it but he couldn't help but think the worst. He had never been the guy to ask a girl out, nor had he even been the one to talk to girls at all. He was always alone or too shy around them and normally, that would be a turn off. He just wanted to see if she felt the same and if not, he would take the no and leave the situation at that. His only hope was that this wouldn't mess up their friendship. But why now of all times? Why did he decide to do this today and not sometime when they were already hanging out? Probably because he woke up with balls this morning and didn't want to miss his only opportunity. Sighing, he stood again, pacing a bit. A few students lingering nearby watched him, giving him quizzical looks but he ignored them as he went through exactly what he would say. Hey Sam, I think you and i make a great team! No....how about, Hey Sam, I know this is a bit forward but you make me smile. No! Ughhh...why is this so hard? He fought with himself in his mind for a few minutes but he knew he needed to calm down. He was about to sit back down when he noticed someone enter the garden. He was tempted to hide but instead, he stood there, nervously smiling as he rose a hand to wave her over to their spot. Shoving his hands back into his pockets, he attempted to hide his shaking fingers as he waited for her to approach him. This was it, the moment he was going to say exactly what he had wanted for so long and he couldn't think of what to say first. So, as she reached him, he smiled and said the only thing that came to mind. "Hey there."
Notes: Sorry about the typos in the first post. I fixed them for you so yeah. And about the length, I couldn't think of anything else to write for that moment but most all of my other posts will be longer, I promise you this. Enjoy.

One thing that Sam couldn't wait for was to finally meet up with one of her best friends, Marcus. After getting the text from him, getting to school and now walking around the garden to try and find him she was just gaining the excitement, until she finally him that was. The truth was that she actually had had a crush on him for a little while now, not like he actually knew that or anything. The only person that she had actually told was one of her best friends, Aramina and she had sworn not to tell anyone, especially Marcus himself. Though just as she was about to enter the gardens she wondered what they were even going to do today, considering Sam did have class in an hour or so. Walking into the garden Samantha looked up to see Marcus standing and waving to her to show her where he was. As soon as she saw him she could believe himself. He had looked all dressed up while she had just thrown a couple things on because she didn't know what to wear. Walking to over to him was even more awkward, considering all she could see was many many girl eyes on him, she could help but feel just a little angry. They were looking at her best friend and she didn't really like that.
'Wait a second,' she thought to herself just as she was around half way to Marcus, 'Why am I even thinking that! Weird much?' She really had no idea why she would even think something like that when she was only friends with him, even though she had wish for more. As soon as she reached him she could help but smile, he did look really nice in what he was wearing, that was for sure. When she heard him greet her she couldn't help but smile just that little bit more. "Hey to you too." She said reaching up to give him a hug. Just standing in that hug for while just made her feel like she belonged and felt safe, for some reason. "So,what do you wanna do today?"

The sight of her was enough to stop him dead in his tracks. She was gorgeous, even when she was dressed simply. He liked her for her, not for her looks. Those were definitely a plus though. All the feelings he had shoved inside were now coming to his mind and he bit lightly on his lip and he spoke to him, returning his greeting. He smiled and took a seat on the bench casually, placing his elbows up on the back of the bench as he rested and waited for her to sit next to him. Once she had, he looked over at her and smiled, shrugging. "Honestly, I have no idea. I figured we could just hang out here for a while and talk. I haven't seen you since last week so thought we could catch up, you know?" he said, obviously nervous. He knew that she would eventually notice but to be honest, it might give him a reason to tell her the truth. Still, he was not sure how he was going to tell her. How would he say it? What if she didn't feel the same? These questions and more were rising to the surface. He knew how he felt, but even if she did like him, would she be comfortable with going public in a relationship with him? Not that anyone had a problem with him or that someone didn't like him, but maybe he wasn't her type. He looked away from her slowly, swallowing hard as he trying his best to get himself together.
Leaning down, he picked up a small flower off the ground that someone had dropped after picking and he sighed, placing it against another severed stem. Using his abilities, he let the stem parts grow together slowly and made the flower at full bloom before looking back to her. That was one thing he cared about more than anything was life. After his brother's death, Marcus realized why exactly his abilities meant so much to him. He was able to bring life to things, and the feeling of restoring life to nature made him happy. He was always much more content in nature then around others. Maybe that is why he liked Sam so much. She was one person whom he could be around for hours and never grow tired of her. She made him happy.

As soon as she saw Marcus sitting down she instantly did the same, while facing him so that it looked like they had been sitting together for a while. Listening to what he wanted Sam could tell that he was nervous about something and being the nosy person that she was, she knew that she would find out what he was nervous about. That was a promise to herself, at least. Though as soon as he turned away from her she realized that he was nervous about something, now she was just more sure about it then she had been before hand. Watching him pick up the flower and look at it for a second, Sam couldn't help but smile. She knew that his powers had been a huge part of him ever since his brothers death. At this point Sam couldn't help but smile a little to herself while she watched him reconnect to flower to it's stem. Placing a hand on his shoulder, she just wanted him to know that she was and would always be there for him. "You defiantly do have a point there," she said looking over the shoulder that she was currently holding on to try and get a good look at the flower itself, "We haven't talked in ages."
She couldn't help but laugh a little to herself, for her it had just been one of those days and after the morning he had just had all she really wanted to do was to hang out with one of her really good friends before she had to go and bore herself it her class later on in the day. Looking back at Marcus she couldn't help but blush just a little bit, this always happened when it was the two of them and once she realized that she was blushing she quick released her hand from his shoulder and placed it, along with her other hand, onto her lab and sighed. Marcus was the only person who had been able to do this to Sam, though at times she didn't really mind. "So, how have you been going in your courses?" She asked having no idea what to say, while looking down at her hands, hoping that he couldn't hear the nervousness in her voice.
