The Academy grounds where one of of Aramina's favorite places to study, mainly when it is really windy outside for the obvious reasons. Considering the weather at the moment the only reason she was walking around at the moment was the fact that she was actually able to get out once in awhile. As soon as she walked around the gardens a couple times over Aramina finally decided to sit down under a tree that looked like it was bursting with life. Finally feeling the glass under her fingertips as she sat down she began to wonder what was going to happen today. She was, for once, under the impression that something happened each that could change your life. Like yesterday when she only just passed that pop quiz that her class was given because she was up all the night before playing MMOPRG's. She had to admit though, it was a really good raid but whatever.
Sitting down and taking a nice deep breath of fresh air Aramina began to wonder. What was actually going to happen what she lift this school. What challenges what she have to face when she enter the world as a power woman or whatever. That was the one thing she was worried about. Thinking about this just made it harder to relax in the peaceful surroundings. Lying down on the soft grass was like something had washed over her and it was like something was different. Maybe something new would happen today. As she laughed as she placed her head on the grass and stopped thinking, her mind wiped clean for the thing she was thinking and she just looked up to the sky and smiled.

”It’s hell out there,” the boy said, hand on Nell’s shoulder with a solemn expression on his face. She nodded, equally grave. ”Oh my god, yes,” said another girl who was hiding behind the bush. ”It has to be, like, two-thousand degrees. Hell pales in comparison.” After an planning their strategy, the three Earthies bolted out from behind the bush, water guns in their hands. The Water students of course had an unfair advantage—they didn’t need water guns, they were water guns. Unfortunately, the grounds were pretty open, so you had to be quick in order to get out of the way of the opponent’s stream. Nell thanked the good lord above she was light on her feet, even when carrying the rather large gun.
Her brown eyes were shrewd as they scanned the area, feet bare against the grassy lawn. At first, it was to be shirts for skins—the girls adamantly refused. Then it turned to shoes versus feet, the shoeless being the Earth students. Nell’s shirt was already soaked, and luckily she wore softee shorts. Nothing more uncomfortable than drenched denim. Even so, she’d be glad for the relief from the heat. She couldn’t believe how hot it still was in August, but here she was, having an elemental water gun fight.
Spotting a water student out of the corner of her eye, she dodged behind a tree and it grew an extra limb to protect her from a spray of water. All the while, Nell was unaware of the girl laying near it. Pumping the gun, she peaked out from behind the shelter of the tree and shot at the water student. ”Heck to the yeah!” she cried successfully when she got him. Then, she noticed the girl who had been minding her own business and came out from the protection of the tree. ”Oh, you didn’t get wet, did you?” she asked, her voice tight with concern. It was no fun to get involved in a water gun fight you wanted no part of. Another water student appeared, and Nell held her hands in an awkward ‘T’, the universal sign for time out. ”Three seconds,” he warned. ”Wanna join?” Nell asked the other girl with a mischevious grin, because it looked like there really was no way out.

"Don't worry, I am fine." Aramina said as she came out from the protection of the she was just lying under. After hearing a couple of people yelling from just behind the tree she decided to get up and check out what was going on. To then find out that they were having a water fight and the random girl in front of her wanted to know if she was alright. If this was the thing she had been waiting from then. After a little bit the girl began to talk again, saying something about joining in.
"You serious?" She said in a sarcastic tone of voice, just trying to state of obvious, yep; this was the change that she had been waiting for all day, I swear it was just a really funny question. To be asking someone this particular question, while it is this hot outside is just stupid. Of course she wanted to join in. It had been a couple years since she had done anything like this though, the last being around 2 years ago during her summer break; her brother and his wife took them to the beach for a weekend and they just shot each other with water guns for ours. "It has been awhile since I have done this, so yea. Let's do it!" She continued as she walked from behind the tree and over to the girl, just before she could tell that the game was about to re-start she then quickly said, "The names Aramina by the way."

Nell blinked at the sarcasm, though she was still wearing a rather sly half-smile. If the girl really wanted to cool off, she figured she’d be at the lake or something, not lying around in the grass. It felt only polite to ask first, since it didn’t sound fun to be unwittingly dragged into a water gun fight. Though she had been pulled into a water balloon fight with Josh and his mother, but she was at least asked first. ”Welcome to the team,” she said, her lips in a wide grin, brown bangs sticking to her forehead. ”Don’t know if you’re an Earth elemental or not, but if you want to be on our sides, shoes got to go.” The girl spoke quickly, and in the same breath she introduced herself. ”My name’s Nell and we’re running to base now, kay.”
She took the girl by the hand when the time-out ended and they were being shot at as the left the protection of the lone tree. The ‘base’ was a small collection of trees that some of the less courageous Earthies were using as a hide-out. ”We got another,” she said. ”Anyone got a gun Mina here can use?” A guy who claimed to be out of the game handed over his water gun, which was rather large. They were playing with big guns, here. With the heat as it was, kind of necessary. Pumping the gun before she had to head back out, she told the girl, ”Objective of the game is to find the other base and get their flag.” Nell pointed upward, even though Mina probably wouldn’t be able to see through the branches of the tree. ”Our flag is way up there. They have no chance.” Nell certainly hoped the girl didn’t have classes or anything, but the day was over so she thought not. The kids she was playing with right now were boarding, and she should be heading home to feed Pablo soon enough. But not before she captured their flag. ”You ready?” Nell asked, winking and brushing back a few strands of wet hair.

As soon as they reached the base Aramina quickly took off her shoes, threw them over toward the bottom of a nearby tree and then began to gradually take in all the information at Nell was feeding her, piece by piece, little by little but by the end she got the jest of it. After looking up to make sure that she remembered the location of our teams flag so that she could at least keep the other team as far was they could away, she looked around the small grassed area to see her team, All them she didn't recognize very much but they looked they could hold themselves in a water fight. Gripping her overly large water gun, that to her; the size seemed like something from World of Warcraft, tightly she began to feel the adrenalin running throughout her veins and she could begin to feel like she could run a thousand miles while not having to stop for anyone or anything.
”You ready?”
And that was it in her eyes. The race had started and she need to get that flag at all costs. Aramina look back toward Nell and smirked, the game was about to begin and team work was key to the strategy, in her mind at least.
"You better believe that I am, Nell! Let's get that flag and win this thing!"

It was quite like guerilla warfare, this game. And it seemed Aramina was taking it very seriously. Nell like that, enjoyed it when people approached something with vim and vigor. Oy, I sound like an old man. It was the truth, however. She just enjoyed people in general, which was why she roped Aramina into the game with her. ”Good,” she said sternly. ”Since it’s the Water kids, I can bet their flag is somewhere near the lake. We’ll have to be extra careful, though.” Because this was the Water students they were talking about, and the lake was literally their element. It was why the Earthies chose the little cluster of trees. Even though it may have been a bit apparent, it would take a skilled tree climber to get up therre.
Nell tried to be as stealthy as possible, but for once she didn’t like the wide open space. It made her feel unprotected. They were like sitting ducks, fish in the barrel. Which is why as she led the way to the lake she tried to keep her movemenets swift. It was easy to point out the Earth students even if they’d worn their shoes—they needed the water guns. She wouldn’t be able to tell who was a Water or not. And that was disconcerting when they reached the lake, where there we quite a few people lingering. ”Spot the flag anywhere?” Nell asked as she squinted. She really wished she had worn her sunglasses right then, but it wasn’t like she could trek to her apartment and come back. If I were a Water student…? There wasn’t really any place actually in the lake, and if they had dove down to put their flag in the sand or something, that was cheating. It needed to be visible. With that in mind, she looked up at the cliffs and noticed something blue. Blue was the color. Nell pointed. ”Up there! Jeez, stupid cliffs are so steep though.” She stood to contemplate for a few moments, before turning her squinting gaze to Aramina. ”Any ideas?”

After a couple minutes of walking around and looking for the flag Aramina finally found out what type of students they were going up against; Water Kids. 'Okay then, If I were a Water Kid then where would I hide a flag' She thought to to her self as she began to look around with not much of a clue where they might hide it. Another couple minutes and they still hadn't found any clues until Nell said something. Apparently it was on some cliffs. Aramina smiled a little and just looked back at the flag, it should be to hard to create a little wind that might just bring the flag their way. 'But what if it is cheating, might as well ask?' Just in case it was alright to do so, Aramina began to concentrate on energy into her hands and began to wonder what she was going to ask.
"Are we aloud to use powers, because if we can then I might be able to create a small wind that can bring the flag at least a little closer." She looked over to Nell as she said this and wondered what she was thinking at this time. It wasn't very often that Aramina got to use her powers, so every time that she couple use them, she did. She could feel her hands becoming warmer and warmers as she continued to concentrate on the energy in her hands. Realizing this Aramina quickly let go of all that energy and a small burst of wind grabbed the flag and bought it at least a quarter of the distance from the cliff. "Opps"

Winking at Aramina, Nell said, ”Don’t worry, powers are a-okay. That’s why we split up accordingly.” It was offered as not only a fun game to cool off after the long day of school but also a way to practice their powers. She actually didn’t know which element Mina belonged to, but she figured she wouldn’t have so easily tagged along if she was of an enemy affiliation. Especially a Fire student. Nell didn’t really think that they would particularly enjoy playing a game with Water students. And Thunders weren’t exactly the most social group, she didn’t think. ”So which element are you?” She asked curiously, but she soon found out when a gust of wind knocked off the flag.
Thinking quickly, Nell grew a vine to crawl up the cliffside and grab the flag. While trying to keep her concentration, she looked around furtively for any Water students. The vine moved over to them as if a sentient being and she took the blue flag. Nell grinned at the Wind girl as if she had just told her quite the scandulous secret. ”We did it,” Nell said, her voice enthusiastic and quiet at the same time. She didn’t want anyone overhearing, especially if they were—A blast of water hit her back, and she loaded before turning around and coming face-to-face with four Water students standing in a row who must have been guards waiting for the perfect moment to attack the girls. Crap, they were ambushed. ”Run this back to base,” Nell said, before assailing the other students with water. ”I’ll catch up with you later, comrade!” She felt as if she was making a noble sacrifice to protect her brethern. Unfortunately, if Mina got caught, she’d be taken as hostage. Hopefully the girl was quick enough to hurry back to base so their team would win.

As soon as the flag had reached her palm she knew that she had to get this back to there base as soon as she could. Four water kids where in her way and she had to figure out a way to get around them, looking over to Nell she could see a couple different scenarios in her mind. You know, just like the times she had played World Of Warcraft when she was supposed to be doing her homework. Thinking about all the attacking and defending combos she could Aramina began to charge. As Nell shot a couple down so did Aramina until there where only a few left, then began to charge. Running through the few water kids that where left she got closer and closer to her base.
As soon as she was close enough to the trees where this whole thing had started. She soon saw her worn out converse and her phone that was buzzing around, indicating that someone was contact her but at this point in time, that was the last thing on her mind. 'Gotta get this to the base.' Aramina continued to think as she get even closer. As soon as she got to the base she yelled as she sat on the ground and placed the flag on her lap, "YES, WE WON!", just waiting for Nell to get back to the base so that they could celebrate the newly found victory.

Not for the first time, Nell was glad she wore a black tantktop and bra, otherwise this onslaught of water would have been quite the disastor. Even the Water kids liked to be trolls, they knew better than to actually viciously attack, keeping their jet streams at the same velocity as the actual water soakers. Nell just hoped that her sacrifice wasn’t in vain and that Mina was getting back to base safely, that she even remembered where it was. After moving away a bit, someone who must have been a ‘scout’ for the Waters came to call out that they’d lost.
Letting out a loud whoop, Nell hurried back to the trees that served as a base and—upon finding Mina—she practically tackled her into a hug. ”We did it, like freaking Dora the Explorer!” she giggled while jumped around, Mina still in her arms. Letting her go, Nell poked the girl’s sides playfully, saying, ”Actually, you did it. Mina, you are a champ.” Stepping back, Nell wrung out her tank and shook her head like a wet dog. She was shivering, even though it was hot, and hungry she found. For some reason, water always made her hungry. ”Hey Mina, wanna come to the bathrooms with me so we can dry off and then get something to eat.” The mess hall was always open, thank god. Food was something that Nell always had a great passion for? And she really needed to dry off before she got sick. Well, if she ever got sick. The girl prided herself in her powerful immune system.

After laughing for a little while Aramina began to think about what was going t happen next. The game had last around about an hour and there wasn't really much else do to now that their team had captured the other teams flag. Though, the next thing that her new friend had said kind scared her a little.
'Was Nell really serious when she had said that' she thought to herself a little after she had heard Nell say what she thought she said, if that makes sense. It wasn't everyday that something like this happened to Aramina, she wasn't really sure what to do. But after a couple of seconds she decided that she might as well do this. It wasn't everyday that you meet new people, in which afterward some want to do stuff with you. This was a very new thing for her indeed. "I guess, Nell. That sounds really cool. I guess I am a little hungry anyways."
Walking to the bathrooms was a little awkward but as soon as Nell had dried herself off they were both on their way to the Mass Hall to grab some food. By this time Aramina was starving from all the running and power that she had used trying to make that wind earlier. As they walked in she could smell the new smells and the yummy food that had been made and she could defiantly not wait to tuck into it.

One thing to know about Nell was that she was genuine in everything she did. From her small smiles always affixed to her face, straight down to the way she looked at an individual like they were the most wonderful thing she’d ever seen. She was so striaghtforward and open and yet held so many secrets, never talking about herself. She was a girl with things to hide, as she supposed everyone did. No one liked to talk about their dirty little secrets, and yet hers was a facet of the media right now. She wondered how it was back in America, if the news turned its spotlight back to her and her family now that the trial was coming up. She wondered if the blond standing before her, seeming a little caught off-guard, would ever find out about what she’d done. Mina, if you knew I was a murderer, would you look at me the same? She was sure no one would see her in the same way if she told the truth, and that twisted her gut to think about.
So she didn’t think about it. Instead, she took Mina’s hand and swung it with exaggerated enthusiasm, sing-songing, ”Off we go then!” And it was all happiness and smiles for Nell, because if she couldn’t do that, then what was there? If she couldn’t have fun in capture the flag with water guns, what else did she have? Just her thoughts, things that could tear her apart if she let them. In the bathroom, the Earth girl joked, ”It’d be nice to have a Fire kid around, huh?” She remembered when Josh and his mother had dried themselves off after the water balloon fight. She was always amazed by the other elements, like she was amazed by Aramina, but she loved Earth like nothing else. Thinking of this, she looked in the mirror and tapped a finger to her head, watching as a blue flower blossomed in her locks.
Now the mess hall had to be her favorite place in the Academy. Stacking her plate up, she said, ”This school has the best food, I have to tell you.” Seriously, she’d heard of the stereotype about lunchroom food sucking, and that’s all she had to go off of. She’d never been to school before the Academy, after all. Nell peered around the room before spotting a cluster of her friends at a table. Tapping Aramina’s arm with the back of her hand, she said, ”Hey, let’s sit over there.” She guided them over and said a few greetings to the group before turning her attention to Mina, speaking between bites of food. ”So what grade are you in?” she asked, and for some it may have been some trite conversation, but Nell was honestly interested.

Aramina laughed a little when Nell had made her joke about the Fire element. She had always been fascinated by the other elements and what they did and how they were each beautiful in their own individual way. After seeing Nell use her powers just before she could tell that her new friends was a Earth Child. One of her favorites, might I add. She always loved the way that they could make the environment around them look so beautiful even after the strongest of storm.
"I have to agree with you there." Aramina said when Nell had made a comment about the food. If there was one thing that she loved more then storms and music was food and her friend defiantly knew the pleasure of food as she did herself. To her, that was something good. Just thinking about all the different types of food that the caff had at the different times made her smile and after the days events, she felt that she had smiled enough for a couple days. After hearing what Nell had said she had just remember that neither of the two new friends knew more than each others names.
"I am a tenth year at the moment." She said as she looked up from her food, knowing that Nell wasn't in the same year as her, considering the fact that she hadn't seen her in any of her classes. Thinking about this for awhile, she decided to ask the same question back. "What about you? I am guess that you aren't in the same year as me, considering I haven't seen you in any of my classes."

Nell tried not to let herself get too distracted from conversation because of food. It was a passion of hers, though. The reason she’d become such a big eater, however, was something she supposed most chalked up to a glorious metabolism and high energy. The fact of the matter was that before Tilly died, she’d shrunken to a practical skeleton. Seeing her twin like that scared her more than anything. It was like looking in a mirror, everytime she cut up an apple or tried to get Tilly to eat a piece of chicken, and Tilly would just turn her head and look out the window. By now, she just really liked to eat and could consume a lot.
Still, she had decent table manners. She may not have been raised right, but she knew what to do and not to do. Not to do: speak with your mouth full. She swallowed. ”Twelfth grade,” Nell replied. ”I enrolled late, though, so that’s probably another reason why we haven’t met yet.” And that was about as much as Nell would reveal. She was too interested in other people. ”How was summer to ya? Do anything fun?” For Nell, these kinds of questions weren’t simply for the benefit of a conversation. They were serious and asked with a smile—she wanted to know all Mina would offer her. Of course, she never went too personal, even thoguh she understood some questions she couldn’t answer were ones that would be relatively easy for others. “Why don’t you live with your parents? Where are you from? Why did you enroll late?” She hated lying, but when it came to that, it was either lying or “It’s complicated.”

"Summer, um," Aramina began wondering what she was going to say. She could tell her what she had actually done but then that might lead to a life story and that was the last thing that she wanted to tell at this particular point in time. On the other hand she could make up a little white lie but then that might backfire in the future. After a couple second she decided what would be the best course of action. "I spent it with my brother and his wife over in their house just a little while from London. It is sort of in the country, I guess. All we really did was, you know, family stuffs. Talked and gossiped ect. Heaps of fun." The only thing that she didn't mention was the fact that her parents had died when she was younger. Even though she didn't remember much of what had happened, that was a tale for another day. Today, for her at least, was about her hanging out with a new friend and just getting to know each other a bit better.
After a while of just sitting in another, with the beyond awesome food that she was eating, she remembered that she should have asked her the same question. Looking up Aramina could see that Nell was the same as her, she could transfer herself to another place while she was eater, or at least that was what she could tell by the current look on her face. To see other people around her was amazing and there was on better feeling in the world to see someone either laughing or even just smiling. It was at this point that she decided to speak.
"What about you, Nell? What did you over summer?"
