LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? She snorted at his joke about the pool being hot, poking him in the side as she smiled. ”That’s a shame,” Nell said. ”I was kind of hoping to cool off, but since the pool is apparently a hot tub…” Winking at her own lame joke, she held tightly to him, fingers clinging to his arm, as he brought them out deeper. She didn’t want to sound like a little kid by telling him that she didn’t know how to swim. But Nell wasn’t even one to be exactly prudent, and drowning was a very real possibility if she wasn’t careful. Or drunk. If matt decided to get absolutely hammered, it was all good—she’d hope he had a good time, wait as he hurled in the bushes, then drive him back home or to the Academy or wherever he wanted to go. But she was staying stone-cold sober, being the designated and all.
Her eyes widened and mock surprise, as if he’d said something very scandalous. ”Naughty, naughty, seems you misplaced your innocence!” She shook her head making a ‘tsk’ing sound with her tongue. ”Unfortunately once you’ve done so, there’s no getting it back.” Even though she was joking, there was truth in it. She wondered if this guy was a virgin or not, but she had enough respect not to go and ask out of nowhere like that. Not to say she was a prude—she could flirt and joke about sex and it was no big deal. But she still had her virginity intact considering she’d never gotten a chance to lose it. And she didn’t think she wanted to be rid of it so soon—in her mind, she kept thinking of how it’s one of the only pieces of innocence she had left.
And despite being a virgin, the antics of those around her didn’t bother her. This is what happened a lot, put a bunch of horny teenagers at a party with a keg and skinny dipping, and it would be surprising not to find them getting crazy. The energy simply fueled her. She was glad for Matt’s closeness, not only because she had already become quite fond of him but because they had wandered into deep waters and she didn’t want to slip away. ”Any time, good sir,” she said valiantly, leaning onto him as if to offer him protection from the evils of the party. Nell caught the shift, and she was pretty sure he was about to say ‘bowlers’, which only gave her more of a clue. People here probably had their own gaydar, which allowed them to choose which ones were game for them. But the girls definitely wanted a piece too. ”Not tonight—you’re all mine.” Of course she didn’t want her new friend to be taken advantage of at this stranger’s party!
When she heard his voice in her ear, Nell directed her attention to the group he spoke of with an aside glance. Much like him, she wasn’t used to the good kind of attention. Well, the thoughts in their head were certainly not pure, but harmless nonetheless. ”Groupies? As long as they don’t kill my single swag.” Her attention was almost immediately back on Matt, since he was the most important person her tonight. Anyone else didn’t need her attention. ”No worries, I’m not going anywhere,” she said as he pulled her closer, leaning against him, stating a very real truth. Dancing in the water was a very interesting experience, but the weightlessness allowed them to move more freely. Never had she been gladder for bringing him here with her.
When they let the hose loose she gave out a high-pitched laugh and hid behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist as she rested her cheek against his back. ”Protect me, oh human shield!” It was kind of pointless, really, considering they were in a pool, but people were readily letting the hose soak them, opening their mouths wide to get as much booze as possible. Damn, she’d need a shower tonight. Not only perspiration was a problem, but the smell of booze wasn’t too nice. But she didn’t have a curfew, and so it would be a long night of partying.

Sean noticed when Nell clung to him, not just because she was going to follow him but more like she was clinging on for dear life. She wasn't afraid of the water, right? She was an earth student, she must love being in the water. Perhaps. "No sinking on my watch either," he whispered into her hair, finally understanding the earlier clinginess. He didn't mind really. He himself clung to people, but not physically, more, emotionally. When you got into his circle, he would keep you in place for all eternity, unless you tried to desert him and since he wasn't one to endure the pains, he'd leave you first. A bad habit he had since he was mostly leaving the people he loved behind when he got to conclusions that they would leave him cause he wasn't needed.
When she 'tsk'ed at him for losing his innocence somewhere. He rolled his eyes. Looks like someone's head was liking the gutter. He gave her a playful pinch to her side and laughed. He found it amusing that when people where the one pinching him, they had to exert effort to find a place on his waist they could pinch. Sean liked to exercise after all, having a fast metabolism was a plus too. "Someone's in the gutter, someone's in the gutter," he sang annoyingly and again, rolled his eyes at her. "I'm in eleventh grade for god's sakes! You dirty wench," and there he was again, using words most suitable for his closer friends. The fact that he was using his full vocabulary with her was saying something. She'd gotten on his train without her even realizing it. "But then again..." he trailed off, just so he could make her head hurt to get back at her for thinking of... stuff in the first place. "Maybe tonight," he leaned closer and gave her a dirty wink, before laughing hysterically in the water and choking in the process. Laughing in a pool wasn't easy.
Nell again, renewed her possession of him and he nodded in agreement. Not that anyone was actually wanting to get into his pants. The girl was too focused on him, and he liked that, to notice how all the males were ogling at her when they thought she or himself wasn't looking. She didn't know she was drawing attention to them and not him and that made her more irresistable. If he was straight... he wasn't. So nevermind such thoughts for it would kill his fun.
Seriously. Stop.
As he felt her body calm and swayed against his own squirming body, he closed his eyes and let the liquor wash all over him, even opening his lips to taste some. Not that he wanted to get wasted on the first party he ever attended, or had he done so in his lifetime. He drank, alot, but he could take the alcohol. He had a strong endurance after all and he hoped someday, it would come out as a skill rather than a disappointment. The water gave them both the ease to move freely and to sway both hips more slowly and gracefully, the weight of the pool slowing their movements. The moment was disturbed though, when he heard Nell squeal in surprise and hid beneath him in a swift motion. Boy had he never seen a girl so scared of liquor. He found himself chuckling infront of her. He turned around with a devilish smirk on his face. "Oh, but I swore only to protect the lady from the harmful grasps of men, not beer," he said, licking his lips as his hands grabbed her arms. "One... two...three!" his grin grew wider before he turned themselves around to meet the full blast of the hose. God would they smell drunk when the liquid dried up on their bodies.

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? She felt like a child and what it must have been like for them to be first learning to swim, being carried along by sweet Matt. Sometimes, she did feel like a little girl. The traits were there—naïve, trusting, somewhat gullible. But then she remembered how she’d been forced to grow up and take responsibility for her sister, though that too had been childish in a way. In her innocence, she believed she could save the girl. Now she was teetering between childhood and adulthood, and she really didn’t know which one she was leaning toward.
Squealing and swatting at his hand when he pinched her, she gave a cheeky smile when he started a little chant, like a kid on a playground. After sticking her tongue out at him, she claimed, “I know not of which you speak!” At the wench comment, she tried her best to keep her mouth in a frown of disapproval as she pretended to slap his face. It was more like a pat though—hurting someone was something she didn’t want to consider—and pinching his cheek, she said, ”Oh right, the ickle eleventh grader is innocent of such debauchery.” Letting go of his cheek, she laughed when he said that maybe tonight. ”And I’m the dirty wench!” She shook her head as if thinking him as disgraceful, enjoying all this messing around. It was nice, it was an escape—there wasn’t a war, there wasn’t her father forcing his way back into her life.
Nell wondered if she’d have to keep an eye on him, like a mother hen. She didn’t really know what kind of person Matt was, if he could have his heart broken by a one-night stand. Nell had dealt with friends like that before, was the shoulder to cry on after a girlfriend got plastered and slept with a guy who she’d liked and then getting her heart broken. She remembered one cruel break-up that resulted in Nell taking revenge in the form of ivy growing along the walls of his dorm, something near-impossible to even rip off. She guessed that was her Thunder vindictiveness. Nell was a nice girl until you hurt someone she loved. Then shit got real. And she knew it would be the same for Matt. She did have a mama grizzly instinct, one she probably developed when her sister was alive.
Matt seemed to be enjoying the alcohol shower, and she momentarily wondered if he would have to be driven home along with her other friends. Or maybe they could just sleep over, since she knew the ‘owner’ of the house (really his parents’ house, but as these things go, what the parents don’t know won’t hurt them). A lot of nights ended up like that—she usually slept on tables because the floors were always covered in beer and vomit. She couldn’t see his face and the mischievous look he acquired which meant he was up to no good. Nell didn’t know whether or not he’d be her human shield, but it was made apparent that he would have none of her pussying out when he started counting down. She was pulled out into the spray, and holding up her hands defensively, she couldn’t even get a “Traitor!” or “You betrayed me!” out as the liquor filled her mouth. Nell could steal herself well against alcohol—a lot of her family drank and she wasn’t someone who never had a drink before. So it took quite a bit to get her drunk.
But it was shaping up that way, as she could feel a little bit tipsy now, the buzzed feeling where reality began to shift and stretch. The beer she had earlier probably didn’t help. And when she started to get drunk, she became much more giggly, airheaded, and dangerous. She turned to poke Matt in the chest, then said between giggles, ”If you plan to get me drunk, mister, it’d be a good idea to remove me from the pool.” After all, a girl who didn’t know how to swim floating around in deep water while getting tipsy? Not a good idea. Yeah, she could tell quite a few people were sleeping over that night.
