So basically, Sean Matthews Helix's stuff to do for the day had been ticked off one by one slowly but nonetheless, had them done before it got dark. The sun was just about to set and the night hadn't started. He was fifteen and alone and bored.
Now we all now just how 'bored' got him screaming.
Sean wasn't one to just sit around and do nothing. Moving was like his air, if he didn't move, he'd die. It was suffocating, how the walls closed in on him. He'd tidied his own place in the dormitories as well as he could and when that was done, found himself frowning at the window. His schedule was supposed to last him for the day. Too bad he was so good at taking care of himself he'd done everything in a blink of an eye. He flopped on the bed and sat down, checking his cellphone.
No messages.
Well not like he was expecting any. He shut the cellphone and laid it by his side. He was new in town and no one would know him. He'd formed a few attachments from his previous home but when he left, he thought it better to forget them than hang on them. They'd leave him too anyways, so why not be the first to commit the crime. Letting his thoughts wander, he walked to his trunk and wore the first clothes he could put his hands on. Leather coat, soft undershirt and glasses, never ever forget the glasses.
Since he was new, why not check around and get used to the surroundings.
After a few minutes of walking though, getting too distracted with the whole new scenery, he was lost. He'd been following a mural down a dark alleyway and just kept on walking and thinking and thinking that when it hit him, he groaned. He had no idea where he was. The town was huge and since he was usually good at geographics, this was saying something.
Sean tried to retrace his steps and heard a noise of sorts booming from a nearby building. People. Maybe I could ask around, he thought as he walked towards it and stood hesitant. He wasn't invited, and he knew no one. Still, everyone usually liked him when they weren't homophobes.
Sean just stood there and debated on his decision, his glasses hanging by his neck.

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? Nell looked at the money in her wallet. It was the most she’d ever had on her person at one time. Possible the most she ever had in her life all-together. The other bartender looked over her shoulder at the money folded in her wallet, and snorted. ”Why the fuck are you still working here?” Smiling brightly, Nell teased, ”Because I love you so much, and I know you love me.” They went back to work, the Earth girl barely contained. She had a party to go to tonight, and it was the perfect way to escape her problems.
No war. No father. Just a bunch of her inebriated friends stumbling around on someone’s front lawn. She really thought it to be more fun sober. That way she was completely lucid when she was having fun and could enjoy it more. And of course, she wasn’t the one draped over a toilet bowl afterward. Plus, she was always the designated driver. Her friends quite liked her new PT Cruiser for some odd reason, and luckily no one had puked in it yet.
Shift over, she tossed away her apron and put on her party fedora. Everyone had probably already started drinking and having fun, but she’d be a little late thanks to work. The real reason she didn’t quit? She wasn’t going to become one of those teenaged brats who rely on their father for everything. She didn’t want to rely on her father. Nell was just using him and draining him like a parasitic vampire. Oh god, that sounded so bad. But it wasn’t like he’d ever go broke, not that she wasn’t trying her best to get some form of revenge on him.
Arriving at the house, she stepped out of the car and shut the door. Nell pressed the button on her keychain and listened for the tell-tale beep that said it was locked up. The car actually had an alarm, which was new for her. Which was just as well, since people didn’t really care about alarms anyway. One goes off in the middle of the night, and all you can think is that someone had better turn it off. It never crosses your mind that the car might be getting stolen. Nell was walking up to the house when she spotted someone nearby. He might have looked familiar, like she’d seen him around somewhere, but she couldn’t be sure.
So, she changed directions and practically bounced over to him, spinning her keychain around her fingers as she greeted him enthusiastically. ”Hey, hey, hey, you’re looking a little lost there, chico. Can I help a cutiepie out?” She winked at him and chuckled right after. Drunk on life, you could say.

Sean took the glasses hanging by his neck and brought it to his mouth, absentmindedly nibbling one edge with his lips. No teeth. Techno music blared from the windows and lights danced across the road to him. The party must've been, and is still, a blast. What if everyone were too drunk to even point him to the nearest bathroom. That was more likely to happen.
His shoulders hunched and he put the black shades on. The dark streets which ahd been enveloped by the night looked even darker. Sean was used to it though, hence, he could still see clearly. He closed his eyes for a minute and tried to remember the alleyways and roads he'd walked on. When he somehow could figure out some parts he opened his eyes and looked at the dark sky above him, stars squinting down at him. He squinted back.
As he turned around, he saw a car now parked nearby and a girl walking towards him. The girl looked like she was ready to party the whole night with her clothes. The friendly smile on her face was the most catching and Sean couldn't help but smile back as well. He'd been so deep in thoughts that he hadn't heard the car arriving, nor noticed the girl changing directions and walking towards him. It was safe to assume, however, that she was heading towards the party. Her wear was practically screaming kill the boredom in the world at him. He nodded in approval.
As she spoke, he couldn't help but grin and like her person there and then. He walked closer for she'd stopped a few feet apart to show respect, mayhaps. He liked being close to people and always radiated warmth and friendliness from himself whenever he dared to walk into everyone's personal space.
"Am I that obvious?" Sean answered while his hands gestured to himself and then her, hinting on both the lost and looks part. "But yeah, I actually am," he shivered involuntarilly and tucked his leather jacket closer, the cold night starting to seep in. "Would you perhaps know the way back to the Academy?" His smile never left his face as he drowned himself in the girl's enthusiasm. Attention and pretty girls, after all, made his day better. If she didn't know the way, then he could probably ask for the nearest police station or somewhere he could get directions and be on his way. Her excitement for the evening was tangible and he was barring her way to a night she was looking forward to. That was wrong of him and he hoped to be of little troubles. "If you could just point me the direction, I'll be off and be on my way."

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? The guy was wearing sunglass, and she shoved her hands into her pockets, grinning. A certain song got stuck in her head, but she shook it off. Yeah, he definitely gave off that fish-out-of-water vibe. As should she. She was an illegal, after all, and her New York accent didn’t really blend well up north. So she knew ”Aw, just a little.” Poor kid must have been freezing. And he was walking around out here at night? And apparently lost? Well jeez, that’s pretty amazing to get lost like that. And then he mention getting him back to the Academy. Aha, that’s why he looked familiar. He was from school. ”So you’re a student, huh? Same here. Earth, twelfth grade. The name’s Nell. You?” As she looked him up and down, trying to decide if he was a Thunder or Fire or someone to look out for in general, she leaned in conspiratorially. ”But it’s not a good idea to go around saying that, homes. What if I was a normie, hmm?” Yes, the Academy was secret and all but she was simply joking around.
Guy smiled at her so genially, she had to laugh. Lost and looking oh-so darling. Nell just couldn’t resist. The second she found someone or something cute, her instant response was to take it home with her. But totally not in a perverted way. More like wanting to dote on the target of her affections, and offer them food or something. She wondered if anyone ever found her creepy? She tried her best not to give off that vibe, even though the was always the haunting thought that since she was a murderer, people instantly picked up on it. Nell wondered if the guy would be scared away from her, but he didn’t look intimidated in the least. Quite affable, really.
It seemed like he didn’t want to bother her. Sweet guy. But she was having none of that. Nell stepped up to him and threw her arm around his shoulder, not thinking of how he was a complete stranger to her, even though he was a nominal ally. ”Come on now, you have a party over this way—“ Nell gestured with her free arm at the house booming music and laughing and some wild screaming, ”And you want to go back to the Academy?” She shook her head in disapproval. Nell moved her arm from his shoulder to link it through his and said, ”How about you crash, homes? Give something they can talk about.” It wasn’t really a party to get invited to, really. Traveled by word of mouth, so practically anyone could come. Everyone crashed. And she wasn’t about to let this cutie go running off to the Academy without having some fun. He was new, right? Therefore, he needed to get used to his surroundings. What better way than a party.
”I’ll introduce you to my peeps,” she continued, ”And you could have a bit of fun, no?” She didn’t know whether this kid was a hardcore partier or anything, but who didn’t like having fun? Sober or not, it was nice to mess around and be silly and just forget about your problems for a night. Which is exactly what Nell was aiming for. And she was trying to get this kid join in with her. There was nothing forcing him back to the Academy right? If not, she would definitely enjoy his company for the evening.

Sean should have stopped himself from asking the location of the school the second he even thought of asking anyone the location of the school. He must've droned out of the house rules the mistress of the house had given him. But then again, he was such an obedient boy, so maybe, he didn't. Just that his common sense had been left back at the dorm. Whatever the reason was, it was beyond him.
He bit his lip from the slip-up and tensed for the girl's reactions.
She just stood there, hands in her pockets, smiling at him, as a naughty tune sparkled in her eyes. He leaned in closer when she did and nodded as she spoke, feeling a wave of relief wash over him for the mistake unintentionally committed. The boy was too caught in himself sometimes he just couldn't help but talk his wits out, more often than necessary.
The warm smile which had been gone absent for a few seconds instantly returned on his lips as they both straightened from the hushed words. As though the surrounding darkness could not be trusted for fear of getting found out.
When she introduced herself, he grinned and handed her his hand, his head looking around to make sure no one was looking. Opening his fingers, a little rose bloomed slowly which had colors that matched her eyes.
"A lovely rose for the lovely Nell," he offered as he bowed his head and took his hand back. "I believe you're my senior. I'm Matt, eleventh grade and loving the earth." He winked at her and noticed how her eyes was eating him up. If she could just see behind the glasses, she would have figured the deed was being returned. She was pretty, no doubt, and he kept himself from pushing behind her ears a stray lock hanging by her forehead. If people loved him, he'd love 'em back and more. Just like how he could sense the girl was taking a fondness for him.
His hands took out the glasses he was wearing, about to hang them by his neck again when the girl came forward and wrapped her arms around him. Sean liked the closeness and leaned onto her. As she tugged him forward, arms now slipping into his, towards the party, he didn't give it a second thought. Sean was down for a few parties and more. There was a fun to him after all and the fact that he liked people who liked him back.
"Not really," he said, sullen. His sadness was so sudden that he looked like he would cry. "Let's bring that house down!" He shouted not a second longer and tightened his grip on her arms, himself leading the way now. He couldn't help but sing along his favorite wasted song and when he neared the end. "The party ain't starting 'til..." Sean trailed off and looked down at his partner, pulling her to a stop at the front door. He waggled his eyebrows at her and grinned his lopsided grin.
Sean looked her up and down for the last time, before placing the sunglasses in his hand on her head like a tiara. "Damn baby, if looks could kill," he couldn't help calling people terms of endearment once he got attached. His eyes rolled in their sockets as he pretended to faint, wanting to emphasize how good the girl infront of him looked. He gave her a wink and faced the door, looking back at her once more and then back again at the door; his excitement building.

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? Nell noticed the change in demeanor, from being lax to looking pretty worried. She shook her head with a smile. ”Relax, hun, I’m not gonna snitch!” She was the farthest you could get from one as a matter of fact. He was safe with her actually. If only he could turn that frown upside down! No one should be sad on a night like this. And there it was, back on his face like nothing happened! Ah, that was good. Everyone makes that mistake, so he didn’t have to worry. Besides, he didn’t say ‘of the Elements’ so it wasn’t like people would catch on easily.
Lifting an eyebrow as he looked surreptitiously around, she wondered what he was planning to do. Then he opened his palm and she saw a flower and grinned. ”Oh why thank you, Prince Charming,” she said as she took the flower and put it in her side bun. ”I’m impressed by your skills, Matty. As a matter of fact, I swoon.” Nell couldn’t see the wink, but she was still flashing him a toothy grin when she placed the back of hand against her head. Hey, she was a girl who loved magic tricks. And so she pulled one of her own, deciding on a thornless red rose to bloom around her fingers since she couldn’t see his eyes and tucking it in a zipper of his jacket. ”You need a corsage, yes?” she said playfully, patting his chest.
Matt took the glasses off, and she was finally able to see that he had lovely eyes, even in the dark. Oh jeez, he was just so adorable! She was glad to see that he gave no argument to her taking him along—in fact leaned in close—so she pulled him up to the house to ensure this cutiepie had a wild night. Then suddenly there was the saddest expression on his face that broke her heart, and almost instantly he picked himself back up. ”All right, then!” she said encouragingly, feeling a laugh lacing through her tone. Well damn! It was wonderful, actually. He’ll definitely be an interesting companion. Nell finished for him, sing-songing, ”I walk in!”
Stopping in front of the door, she looked up at the guy with a mischievous expression. He tucked the glasses into her hair and cracked up at his dramatics. By god, Matt was something amazing. With a mock-disgraced expression, she held her hand to her chest as she said, “I’d be serving five to ten!” She was glad to see him instantly warming up to her, like they weren’t just complete strangers who’d met on the street. Nell loved friendships like this, where you just clicked with someone and that was that.
Nell knocked loudly on the door, able to see writhing bodies and the swirling dots of an electric disco ball. And it was soon answered by a guy holding a red plastic cup. ”What took ya, Nell?” She actually knew the owner of the house, so she readily tugged Matt closer and said, ”This guy here. Matt here's my plus one, kay?”
He let the two in without further ado, and they were instantly swept into the mass of people. The house was large, and the staircase already littered with paper cups. She faced the dancing crowd, shouting out, “Where my homies at?” The voices raised into a shout of approval, though half the kids she didn’t even know .They were just drunk enough to not have a care. She turned to Matt and said over the pounding music, ”Whaddya wanna do first? I’m sure there's a keg around here somewhere if you want a beer, and if they’ve got the supplies I can mix some kickbutt drinks.” Oh, the benefits of being a bartender. Though she didn’t drink much, she was becoming pro at getting drinks for others. ”And then we can dance the night away and maybe skinny dip in the pool!” She laughed at this, loud so he could hear her. Skinnydipping would be okay as long as no one looked at her scars.

Adjusting the corsage on his leather jacket, the red and black ensemble creating a somewhat dark effect, he held his breathe as Nell knocked on the door... or more like banged her hands on the door. The music was loud. Very so that from where they were standing, the music was loud enough for a party outside as well, what more if... and the door opened.
The music was deafening... to an old lady, that is.
Sean was used to such parties and his smile grew only wider, his excitement for the night too much that he pulled Nell into his arms and hugged her fiercely.
"You're my saviour," he whispered into her ear and let her go a few steps. He leaned in and gave her a light peck on the cheek. Tugging her some stray hair behind her ears, he looked into her eyes, his brown ones melting into chocolate. "Thank you, Nell." His voice was low and husky, from the adrenaline and from his sincerest gratitude. "Now let's start some serious partying!" He laughed and pulled her into another embrace before they were ushered inside and were enveloped in writhing bodies.
His eyes scanned the crowd and saw how the people were really enjoying themselves, letting their bodies dance to the rhythm. Who wouldn,t? The DJ was fixing up some pretty nice tracks that even a person with two left feet would try dancing and not caring about his awkward moves at all. Not for Sean though, he was born to dance.
As Nell shouted at him over the loud boom of the stereos, he stared at his little angel with a gleam in his eyes, liking her suggestions and most especially the last. Skinnydipping sounded fun and he was none shameful of his body. He knew he was hot. Sean waggled his eyebrows at her to show her what he was thinking and then winked as she burst into laughter.
"We'll do all that," he shouted back, leaning in close. Thank God he'd been chewing on tiktaks. "But first..." He stood ramrod straight as he let the music sink into his bones, finding the perfect rhythm and then finding his moves before his body started to sway with the beat. He was flexible and he showed this with the ease of how he was moving, eyes fluttering open and giving Nell a teasing look, lips twitching at the corners. With one swift motion, he pulled her small body to him, he was a few inches taller, and danced behind her. His hands went up the sides of her waist as he ground his body to hers, feeling her up. "Dance with me, baby," he said softly into her ear, his breathe blowing on a few strands of hair. She smelled lovely and he kept his head close to hers, hips swaying.
Sean liked how she was comfortable in his presence and seeing as she didn't give any show of slight awkwardness with him, he pushed the lines further a bit and hoped he wasn't going too far. Then again, when people sent signals of invitation to him, he'd just jump the train and comply. No thinking, just, doing.
From how she'd greeted the crowd earlier, not to mention the deafening reply that soon came after, Sean guessed that Nell wasn't just some girl. She was the girl and somehow, he'd known that earlier. With her air of kindness and friendly smile, everyone would definitely want to be with her. He smiled into her hair as he felt eyes on him. The attention was welcome, as long as it was harmless, it was welcome.

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? Nell giggled when he drew her into a hug, wrapping her arms around his neck. His voice in her ear made her want to do whatever she could for him, her heart basically putty right now. She murmured back, ”Any time, Matt,” before he pulled back to give her a kiss on the cheek. Her cheeks colored lightly, not having expected that, but it was certainly not something she protested against. The girl had never met one so cuddly and touchy-feely before, and she absolutely loved it. Matt was just a big teddy bear, with some stylin’ shades and handsome looks. As he tucked a strand of hair behind her ears, his voice low and intimate, she took his chin with her thumb. You’re welcome.” Winking before dropping her hand she cracked up as he pulled her against him, saying, ”Hell to the yeah!”
He seemed perfectly at home walking in, like a king returning to his throne. And he was hers for the night. She got a look inside his devilish little mind at the eyebrow waggle, and wondered why he waited so long to get to the Academy. Sure, she had other friends here, but right now she was giving her full attention to Matt and his eyes that must have broken quite a few hearts. His breath—thankfully untouched by booze and smelling as nice as he was—brushed across his face as he suggested something. Matching his mischievous look, she asked, ”Oh?” wondering what exactly she had in store with him.
Nell was no expert in how to dance, but she knew how to move and use what she got. She was nothing compared to Matt, though, with the way he moved as if the music was an extension of his own body. Or vice versa. She couldn’t really tell, but she looked on in admiration. Like no one was around them, watching him made the dance floor disappear. He gave her a charming little smile, and she couldn’t resist as he pulled her against him, their bodies molding together like two halves of a whole.
She was willing to let him guide her with his dance mastery as she let the music tell her where to move, let his body take control and sway into the motions. Matt was nothing if not a beautiful dancer. His voice filtered back into her ear, the only thing she heard above the music as his breath blew against her hair. Lifting her arms up and leaning her head against Matt, she said, ”Mmm, I think you’re gonna have to teach me. I don’t quite get it.”
Yeah, Matt was this dude she just met with his hands on her and his body so close, but she wasn’t uncomfortable in the least. What, like she was going to run away from fun-personified? She didn’t think so. She loved the feeling of this night, and she wouldn’t let it escape her. Even if Matt was a person of interest, the new guy that everyone wanted to see what he was made of. And she had to say, they were the finest looking pair in the party right then, with the music vibrating through the floor and Matt’s arms firmly holding her. Nell turned in his arms and wrapped her arms around his neck, tilting her head back with her body still pressed against his. ”How’d you learn how to move so fine?” she said, sing-songing lightly as she kept moving. "I think all eyes are on you, love."

Life had sucked ass for Sean. Like overly, heartbreakingly, people dying, backstabbing, loathe and hate all rolled into one suck ass motion. The guy had a life full of pain behind him. Still, occasionally, there had been some times when he was seen smiling and enjoying himself. Not completely though, he was careful always, wary. He liked having fun the most but it was never really the one where his head was high up in the clouds, just normal, sometimes boring, partying here and there.
Now though, he was acting like as if there was no trouble in the world. Completely enjoying the night and drowning himself in its excitement. All thanks to the girl in his arms. She somehow made him feel safe in his own skin. Probably something earth kids shared when they were together amidst a crowd. That you'd be drawn to each other. Like how he was drawn to her. Sean liked being close with people... but not how he was acting right now. He felt like he could stay glued to Nell's side for all time and stay safe and secure.
It was something new but he didn't question it. Instead loved it, embraced it, welcomed it.
For the first time in a long time, he was finally starting to feel like he was at home. After his nana's death, he'd felt lost, disconnected. Moving to a new place hadn't seemed like a good idea back then. What was the use?
But since his relocation, he'd found people he actually liked. Moving to the academy had probably been the best decision he had ever made in his life. Else he'd never meet this awesome girl in his arms right now. He knew she could dance. The girl was just unsure of her skills. Doubting it, even. All she needed was a little push.
"It's easy, yeah?" he whispered inside her hair.
When Nell turned around to face him, her head pulled back so she could clearly see his face, he smiled a wicked smile.
"I was born this way baby," he winked as the song came blaring from the stereos. "And this DJ rocks!" he exclaimed, adjusting to the fast beat whilst helping Nell sway with him. He could pull off a partner dance despite the techno feel of Gaga's anthem. His anthem. "I'm beautiful in my way, cause God makes no mistakes. I'm on the right track baby, I was born this way." He sang along the lyrics, body fluid, eyes glued to her face. He guided her, and at times let her move freely. See? She could dance. "I know," he grinned when she felt it too. He leaned in closer. "It's probably because everyone's jealous that I'm the partner, and not them, of the hottest girl in here." Pulling back, he fanned himself and appeared like he was on fire, never missing a beat.

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? It was quite possible that Nell’s goal in life was to make others happy. A people pleaser by far, she wanted to make sure everyone around her was okay. All right. And she’d do anything possible to see it that way. It was this trait she extended to Matt, someone who looked so much like a lost puppy who needed to let go. Even if for a short time, there would be nothing else except this night.
She wasn’t a veteran of this life by far. Actually, she was quite possibly as new as him. After jumping the border of Canada, she adapted as well as she always did. Improvised. Learned and discovered. And so, she found new things to do each night, new places to be, new people to meet. She was always learning and finding. And every night she was invited out, whether it was to a movie or a party or to just lounge around with her girlfriends and rag on boys, she felt new again.
Like she wasn’t a murderer. Like she wasn’t a criminal. Like she didn’t feel like a liar to everyone around her. Even now, she was lying to this boy who didn’t even know he was dancing. Your body is pressed against a killer’s right now, do you know that? But there was no guilt tonight, no way. There was only Matt and the music and the thrumming of her blood through her veins, adrenaline all through her body. It was nice to let go, even if it was fleeting and transient.
The song was popular enough that she could sing along, too, so at least she didn’t feel like a complete idiot. But no, she didn’t think it was possible with Matt. It felt like there was no way to embarrass herself, even with her lack of dance skills. His energy created its own electric spark in her. So he was having a good time. She grinned up at him, half-enigmatic, half-playful, as he exclaimed how much he loved the DJ. ”Stick with me, kid, and there’ll be even more DJ with awesome music.” Nell would definitely like to stay his friend, to have more nights like this, to take him by the hand and help him experience life in the fullest and just have fun. Matt seemed like he needed it.
Rolling her eyes and batting at him playfully, she felt her energy just increase. “I think we're just burning up. A little too hot, maybe?” She threw her head back to laugh at what was about to be a lame pun. ”A dip in the pool after so much dancing would be nice.” Winking, she pressed her body even further against his if possible. Nell wasn’t sexy. She didn’t have that appeal that some girls had with their glossy hair and high heels. She just had her playfulness and her outgoing nature and clear brown eyes free of care. And therefore, fun meant teasing, it meant flirting, it made making this guy feel like he was perfect. Skinnydipping was an adventure. In the dark, she didn’t have to worry about others seeing her body. All she felt was the thrill of doing something outrageous and fun. There were likely already others outside who were practicing what her thoughts were moving toward.

Whatever was coursing through Nell's thoughts, Sean's were somehow along hers. He had a past, she had her past... and they fit like puzzle pieces. Both born of broken fragments, both finding their place in the world. Hey, maybe this was their new spot in the world. Who knew? Boy gets lost, girl finds a date, they click, they walk, they dance, they grind and most importantly, have fun together. What could be ever more needed?
More partying.
"I thought we already agreed on that when our fingers intertwined," Sean said in a teasing voice. He raised her left with his right and locked his fingers around hers, liking how both fit perfectly. This called for the most used dance move ever and he twisted her around and around and caught her when he couldn't breathe from laughing anymore. "I'm yours..." he said, eyes sparkling, lungs heaving. "And you're mine..." he claimed her as he pulled Nell close and gave her a fierce hug. His mind came up with future images of him tagging beside her as they did what their heart's wanted for the day. Bar-hopping, skipping school, partying and then more partying.
Which translated to balancing school and a social life. Sounded easy.
Not.
Anyhow, the fun was now and Sean was drowning himself in it. He grinned at her as she pressed her body to his own more. The people around them pushing them closer. "Hot, eh?" he teased, before eyeing a nearby table and flinging his jacket to it, easing out of his clothes easily while dancing. Trust him to be multi-tasking. "Guess it's still too hot," he smiled as he shrugged out of his shirt, feeling the girl's rough fabric sliding against his bare skin. He gave a boy, who'd been staring at him for a while now, a wink and cocked his head to his clothes as if to ask him to guard it... for a price. Maybe. His chuckle rumbled in his chest as he waited to see what Nell's reaction would be, raising an eyebrow for her.
"Gawd, we so hawt," he mimicked in a mexican accent, turning his head around and looking for the bar. "A drink perhaps?" he murmured and as if on cue, the boy from earlier, the one who answered the door, came to them and handed them both a drink, smiling warmly. Sean looked at him and then Nell and his grin was wicked as he leaned in closer. "Your boy?" He whispered, looking at her naughtily.

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? Lacing her fingers through his, a crooked smile sat on her face when she murmured, ”Oh, I wasn’t aware.” But as he spun her around, she became aware that she already knew these things. That there was an instant click. Nell just sensed something about him, which drew her in. Maybe it was his laughter, because as she was back in his arms—dizzy and laughing like there was nothing that could hold her back—it was the most wonderful thing she’d felt in a while. ”Together forever?” she said teasingly, feeling like a four-year-old. Yeah, that would be pretty damn nice. More nights like this.
Matt stripped off his jacket, tossing it on a table, and she wiggled her eyebrows at him. And she meant literally stripped, dancing and taking off clothes at once. She wondered how far he would actually take it… He motioned toward a curious on-looker and she couldn’t help but grin.
”Take it off!” she cried, raising her hands in the air and drawing the attention of others so that they could admire Matt’s bare chest. And the crowd couldn’t help but stop and stare. Placing her hands back against it, she used her fingers like to dance up his chest and then lightly tap him on the nose teasingly. ”Feeling a little cooled off?” She looked slyly around, debating in her head. It was dark with only flashes of the electric disco ball to illuminate the gyrating mass of bodies. Even if she drew attention, it was hard to notice scars in the dark. And so, she pulled her shirt up and over her head, then swung it around which drew even more eyes. Pressing her body back against his teasingly, others seemed to catch on as they drunkenly yanked their clothes off, shirts and pants and soon most were dancing in their undies.
"¡Si, muy caliente!" she joked back. Unlike him, she was actually Spanish and so the words flowed off her tongue as naturally as the English language. It was like speaking of the devil as the ‘owner’ of the home for the night came over with a couple of beers and passed it off to them. It would be the only one for the night, she knew. For one, she was the designated, and for another, bad things happened when you got Nell drunk. She thanked the guy, and at Matt’s devious question, she grinned wolfishly. Nell inclined her head, looking up at him through her eyelashes with glimmering eyes, taking a swig of the beer. “Why, are you jealous?”
People began to filter out to the backyard and she was bubbling with laughter as she guided Matt by the hand after the crowd, feeling exposed in her bra but knowing that everyone was starting to strip as well and they couldn’t actually see her marred skin. So it was much easier as others began to jump into the pool, in their birthday suits and drunker than either of them. She turned away from Matt as she kicked off her shoes and stripped her jeans, placing the bottle down on the concrete. Looking over her shoulder, she said, ”No peaking!” And oddly enough, in Nell’s mind she wasn’t being sexual or naughty. Just playful and having fun. Bare of clothes, she ran and jumped into the pool, others calling out in loud voices of approval as they held their plastic cups above the water. She bobbed back up in the shallow end, not knowing how to swim and feeling the chill in her bones. Nell folded her arms over the side of the pool and winked at Matt. ”Join me?”

"Together forever," Sean breathed and the finality of that statement almost made him cry.
Almost.
For a long time, he'd never really let himself fall deep into attachments with people for he never trusted anyone. They would only hurt him, so why form anything deep with them. For always, his relationships were superficial, almost as if there wasn't really any and he'd lived in a lonely world, along with the one true person he actually loved and had yet left him. Love brought hurt with it, he knew that, and yet here he was, falling.
For once, he didn't feel the ominous air of dread that seemed to envelop him everytime he found himself getting closer to a person. Something had just sort of clicked between the little time he'd spent with Nell. They met, they clicked and now, they're together forever. He found himself liking that idea and killed all thoughts that nagged him to be wary, to be careful. He felt safe and secure with her so there wasn't really anything to doubt... right?
Sean shoved all thoughts away and before his excitement got killed, he, once again, drowned himself in the music and let his body sway alongside the rhythm, keeping Nell in his arms. When she pushed away gently, he opened his eyes and found himself, like all other eyes were, looking at her as she tugged off her clothes playfully, teasingly. He grinned and found himself pulling her back as soon as she was done. Everyone seemed to like the idea, with how they were cheering her on and soon after, clothes were flying all around and Sean had to duck here and there expertly to keep the rhythm in his bones and Nell's. It was fun, drinks in hand fun.
"Maybe," he teased and drew her close, hugging her to him. "Him, or maybe you, who knows?" he continued, chugging his drink down in one, letting his eyes trail on the party owners lean back before looking back at her and winking, sending his own thoughts. They've never really established the fact of his sexuality, nor hers, but if she was this comfortable around him, halfnaked and all, then maybe she knew... like the boy who kept ogling at him from a corner knew. The ones on Nell's too weren't to be missed and he found himself blocking her, protecting her from hungry eyes.
He sighed inwardly as she tugged him suddenly forward, getting pushed along by the crowd and before long, they were facing the pool where most of the party had gone to. He gave her her privacy as she took off her jeans, being the gentleman he was and when he heard the rush of wind beside him, he turned around just in time before Nell splashed into the water, sending a small wave toward everyone else who were having a great time as well. Katy Perry's teenage dream soon came blaring through the stereos and the moment couldn't be anymore perfect.
"No regrets, just love!" he chimed in as he hastily pulled off his tight jeans and left his boots plus socks on a deck chair before running in after Nell. He spun once in the air and landed with a cannonball in the water. The deafening roar of the crowd, alongside more splashes were lost on him as he was plunged deep into the oversized pool, the loudness suddenly replaced by muffled silence. As he resurfaced, his eyes scanned the crowd for where his girl was at by the side and he swam to her, leaving a splatter of water in his wake. When he was close enough, his grin was wide and he bobbed in and out before finally settling beside her. "Hi," he voiced out, the enthusiasm so tangible you could touch it. “Every male in this club is eating you up.... even me,” he joked and poked her in the ribs.

LA FAMILIA if we sleep together WOULD YOU BE MY FRIEND FOREVER? The words seemed to mean a lot to him by the way he breathed them out, and Nell’s smile was no longer excited and wild—it was warm and welcoming and more open than it had been in a long time. These days, it was hard to find a time to smile, but she didn’t every day. Walked the halls with a half-smile on her face as if she were in her own little world even when that world was crumbling. But here she was with Matt, smiling more sincerely than she thought she could.
It must have been the night and the music and the feeling of being close to someone. I don’t let anyone touch me. It was like her creed, and it meant so much to her. She let no one know about her, but held people close in her heart—like she was feeling about Matt. But for tonight, she’d let him touch her on that level that she felt as if she could tell him anything in this moment. Even “hey, I’m a fugitive matricide on the run, working as an underage bartender alien.” She wondered if this kind boy would accept her for what she really was.
But that wasn’t on her list of priorities tonight. On top would be dancing the night away and being close to Matt. He was really just a stranger, but it felt like she’d known him for years. Which is why she felt comfortable enough to even remove clothing around him, even though there were others around, watching through hazy eyes. The two of them seemed to create a movement within the crowd, like they were the leaders and everyone was tagging along for the ride. It was a great sensation, like being on top of the world.
Her eyes sparkled as she relaxed into his embrace and said, ”Oh?” Nell had a hint. Her girlfriends told her about this infamous gaydar, but it was something in the way Matt treated her. He wasn’t just some sleazebag who wanted to get in her pants, else he’d have taken her upstairs the moment she stripped off her shirt. This suspicion was the reason she even considered taking off an article of clothing. But it didn’t change her mind about him. Sexual preferences were something she never paid much mind too, both in her innocence and her acceptance of anyone. And if Matt liked it with the guys? More power to him—she bet he could bag even the straight ones if he looked at them a certain way. Looking over to the side, she saw a guy eyeing Matt like he was a big lollipop and she chuckled. ”Oh man, it looks like I’ll have to keep you close lest you get taken away from me!” She felt safe from any straying male gazes while in his arms, so she didn’t worry about that.
”We can dance until we die!” Nell sang into the air as Matt jumped into the pool, creating a wave that swept her off her feet. Looking around them she could see they were the ones getting attention and everyone was waiting for their next move. It was exhilarating, this kind of experience and she made sure that she would keep this close to her heart. That she’d always remember the night she met this boy and how he made her feel good when most of the time she felt like something inhuman.
Matt swam back over to her and she placed her hands on his shoulders, smiling like a goofball. ”Hey there, baby. You cooled off?” she greeted back. She had been sweating like a mother and it truly had been hot, so the icy water felt great against her. She chuckled and swatted at his hand as he poked her in the stomach, surprisingly not minding the contact on her bare, scarred skin. It was much nicer than how she used to be touched. ”Oh really?” she said, brushing her hair over her shoulder in a mock snob girl motion. ”I can say the same for you.” She tilted her head as she let her gaze sweep the pool again, catching the gazes of a few people, eyes on both of them. ”I think I might have to send out a warning to protect your innocence.”
After all, people are getting freaky everywhere, even making out in the pool. She wouldn't want her new friend to be taken advantage of. "Don't worry, I'll defend your honor." she winked at him as she twirled around in the pool, joining in the group singing as everyone was crying out to the lyrics of Teenage Dream in a drunken sort of unison. Yeah, it kind of felt like living.

Everyone has issues. Every living soul has a dark secret they have the right to keep only to themselves. If such issues were revealed, only two outcomes could be brought forth from such revelations. Either said person lost the other person whom the secret was shared with, or said person would form a new kind of relationship with the other person. Course, no one shared secrets as easily as a snap of fingers. Time was needed. Trust needed to be formed. A foundation of mutual understanding built.
Sean's brows furrowed and he found himself asking why such thoughts were entering his head. In the midst of the loud singing and body-trembling stereo, he could still hear himself thinking, pondering, wondering. Of all places, he was smack dab in the middle of a party and he was in the middle of an epiphany. Wow. Really? He didn't have issues. Nor any bad background. Or anything. He was clean... too clean that it was scary. Or did he just not want to remember his tortured past... but that was another story so not suitable to the current situation he was in with Nell.
The fact that he was finding it to be completely just himself and feel comfortable in his skin with Nell was... amazing. Probs why he was suddenly growing this urge to share secrets with her, like she was his own personal pillow. Pillows were mostly the keepers of his secrets. You could scream into them. Cry into them. Embrace them. Snuggle. Sleep. Feel comfy. And most importantly, they listened and gave no shit to whatever you were saying to them. Just accepted it and remained silent forevah. Yes, pillows were handy.
And Sean better get his head back in the game. Random musings wasn't exactly a great party ingredient.
"Naw," he answered her as he put his finger to his lips and touched the surface of the water, creating a sizzling sound with his teeth. "Even the pool's burning up, babe." He chuckled and pulled her towards the deeper parts of the pool, grinning all the time. As she looked around, he followed her gaze and like he'd noticed earlier, all eyes were on her... and him. Yep, there were eyes on him as well. Not the iwannafuckingkill types but more... iwannaeffyou ones; which were flattering. It was a nice change of attention he had grown up used to.
"Innocence you say?" Sean asked with a tone of dirty innocence and looked around the both of them. "Where?" he chuckled, the confusion on his face. "I can't seem to find any." his shoulders shrugged and he pouted, a sad look.
To say what the party was turning into was freaky was an understatement. It was getting wild, wilder and wildest by the second. Sean had to keep a firm hold on the girl else she be pulled by someone and taken somewhere. He found himself inching closer to her. "Why thank you milady," he said, now his turn to act like the damsel-in-distress. "I'm pretty sure them bo- peoples be wanting to go all over me." he almost said boys and stopped himself, not wanting to freak her out. He turned her around easily. "See there, that group has been on you the whole time." he whispered in her ear. "Group," he stressed and if she was facing him, she would have seen the brows on his forehead waggling. "You like groupies?" He chuckled. "Not on my watch though," he added and hugged her closer to him. "You're mine tonight," he said as he swayed their bodies together, now dancing in the water.
Someone, thinking it was funny, suddenly opened the hose and started targetting the people in the water with a painful spray of... liquor? It tasted like liquor when it hit Sean and he was amused. Owner be rich to be wasting liquid... in the pool.
