It was summer vacation! Alina wasn’t sure just what to do with herself. She was supposed to leave Maple Hollow to go and see her Nana, but the plans for her trip hadn’t quite been arranged yet. She’d been staying with Carson and her family until she had the means to come out to the city. Alina was pretty sure she didn’t have so much time to even spend with her Nana anyway – which was sad. She missed her Nana. She had been trying to find a way to break it to her Nana what she was, and that her Nana needed to move closer so she didn’t always have to wait for long weekends or breaks at school. She’d probably only have a week or so with the woman before she’d have to come back to the high school. Since she’d already wasted basically a week waiting on figuring out how she’d even get there. She should’ve had this all figured out earlier, but Alina’s brain tended to be full of thoughts that were all over the place and didn’t really have an end to them. And it kind of drove Alina insane sometimes, to be honest. Not that by looking at her, you wouldn’t think she was SOME kind of eccentric…but she wasn’t a mad person. She just wasn’t the best at focusing. She’d never been. But she had found a trick to help her. Walking it out. And that’s exactly what she planned to do.
All of this thinking had made Alina a little anxious. That and since all of Carson’s siblings were home with her, Alina hadn’t really had any time to herself. After letting Carson know she was going on a walk, Alina headed out of the house, taking in the warm June air. June already…this was crazy. It seemed like this part of her life was going by so fast. After taking a little stroll, Alina believed she would probably get the most good out of looking around the town a bit. If she would be living here, she would need to know her way around. Taking in the sunshine on her skin and the slight breeze moving through her hair, Alina found herself wanting her close her eyes. And this of course, was a bad idea, seeing as how she was walking. And she found herself, once again, running smack dab into someone. This time around, it was much worse, as she almost knocked the poor girl over. ”Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” She moved a bit to make sure the girl was alright, looking at her, ”I keep doing that. It’s such a bad habit. I’m really sorry.” Last time this happened, Alina had made a fast enemy. She really hoped her luck was changed this time.[/blockquote]

The only reason Rhoswen was outside during a bad sight day was because she needed to pick something up from the store and her parents were on their only vacation for the year, their anniversary. Migraine growing and eyes hurting she continued on to the store, wind changing and smelling different scents of the people around her.
She hadn't really been paying attention to the wind hitting a ruffle skirt and breaking around them until she was hit and half on the ground sporting a minor dizzy spell. She heard a voice above her and moved her head in that direction staring with blind eyes at a very colorful blur in front of her. She raised a hand and waved it with a soft grin. "No, no it's okay."
Rhoswen stood after a moment and then reached out blindly when she teetered. Her hand grabbed the girls shoulder and then white tinted blue eyes looked at her. "I couldn't have avoided you either, so it was also my fault for not paying attention to the natural sound breaks in the wind." She smiled and then patted her pockets making sure she had everything thing.
She used the wind to fix her hair before she turned back to the girl. "Would you help me, i have to get some stuff from the market but I can't see well today?"

Alina wasn’t sure just what had gotten into her lately, she was running into things all over the place. Not really things, but…people. She was used to being pretty graceful, she just hoped she wasn’t in for an awkward spell. She’d already gone through those years in elementary and middle school, she was kind of content where she was now. She had gotten past the…weird hair, weird skin, growing body parts phase. She was proud to say she was actually proud of what her genes had done. She didn’t exactly have the best mother around, and she had been a preemie at birth, so it only made sense that she was still small. Preemie because her mother hadn’t been drug sober when Alina was born. So if the only thing Alina had to complain about was her height, she’d take it. Getting back to the situation at hand, she was more than sorry that she had almost plowed this other blonde over. The girl seemed just as surprised to be on the ground. Alina pulled her hands back as the girl waved her hand, ”I truly am sorry. I had my eyes closed, I wasn’t even paying attention. I shouldn’t have a license to walk on the sidewalk…” She laughed a bit, before it seemed the girl hadn’t quite caught her balance. Alina reached her hand out, catching her a bit, meeting the girl’s eyes. And wow…she’d never seen such eyes before. ”You alright? Got your balance?” She just wanted to make sure the girl wasn’t going to fall over again. Listening as the girl spoke, it was only then that Alina realized the girl couldn’t see. Well, she wasn’t totally blind, but mostly. She shook her head slowly, ”No, shhh. It’s totally my fault.” She smiled lightly at the girl. Her eyes widened as the girl used her powers, and Alina found herself getting a little excited. ”Are you a wind too? So am I! That’s probably why I messed up your perception…I tend to play with the patterns around me.” She blushed sheepishly, looking to the girl, about to introduce herself before she was being requested. ”Oh…sure! Sure thing. I’ll be glad to be your eyes.” She smiled a bit. If the girl could handle her eyes being bright, colorful, and hyperly all over the place. ”I’m Alina…what’s your name?” She thought a bit, linking her arm to the girl’s slowly. She knew the girl was probably completely capable of getting around herself, but Alina had already made her lose her balance twice. So she felt a little obligated to help her out. ”What thinks were you wanting to get from the market? Just let me know and I’ll be sure to keep a watch out for them.” She thought a bit, walking with the girl, ”So you DO go to the academy, don’t you?” Now that she thought about it, she was sure she’d seen the girl around the wind dormitory before.[/blockquote]

Rhoswen really didn't like being fused over but she let it pass, the girls energy just seemed to flow around her and become maybe just a little , addicting. She looked in her direction when she started speaking, she listened as she righted her self back to being in balance.
"Ah, that's why it was difficult." She said softly before laughing quietly, when the girls arm looped around hers, she tensed for only a moment before accepting the help. She still relied on her sight after all even if her other senses were good.
Rhoswen perked up, "I'm Rhoswen, you can call me Wen if you want, it is easier." She admitted before watching around them with blind eyes as they began moving. "I need to get some fruit and other food. Maybe pick up a few clothes, but I lucked out on my eye sight today." She spoke.
At the question about the school, she nodded, "yes, I'm in grade twelve." She answered her, "you?"

Alina knew she could be at first…a little overwhelming. And she could only imagine what it would be like for someone meeting her for the frist time who couldn’t actually see her. She had heard that blind people had the best perception and could tell who a person was by just how they breathed or moved. Or what they gave off. Alina had always tried to keep her aura clear, and to make sure she didn’t piss karma off at all. She knew the other day she had stepped out of line, and she was kind of expecting payback at some point, but for right now, she was on her best behavior. And if doing more good deeds would erase the horrible one bad deed she did, she’d pile up on the good ones. Not that this counted as a good deed. Rhoswen had caught her attention and Alina found herself wanting to know more about the girl. She smiled a bit, nodding slowly, ”Probably. I’m sorry.” She laughed a bit. She was always playing around with her element, making sure to perfect newly learned tricks and trying to see if she could find any new ones through practice. That was just how she was. She might not have been good at math or reading, but she would be good at what could eventually change her fate. That was the most important thing. Feeling Rhoswen tense, Alina apologized, ”I’m sorry. I’ve been told I’m very affectionate. Actually, clingy…but I don’t like that word. If it bothers you, you can tell me.” She didn’t want to scare the new girl away. She never wanted to scare ANYONE away. She smiled a bit, one of those smiles you could feel. ”Rhoswen. That’s a BEAUTIFUL name. Wen is alright. Nicknames can be kind of lazy though…especially when your name is pretty enough to begin with.” She listened as Rhoswen listed off what she needed, nodding slowly, ”Do you have a favorite fruit? I like starfruit and kiwis myself. Is it kiwis or kiwi? I have no idea…” She giggled a bit, before looking to her, ”Lucked out? What do you mean by that?” She had some idea, but not really. She smiled a bit, ”I’m in grade twelve too! Isn’t that wonderful, both winds and the same grade? That’s amazing.” She was sure she’d have some classes with Rhoswen when school was back in session, she just had to have a class with her. ”Do you live in Maple Hollow or do you stay in the dorms at the school?” She stayed in the dorms herself. She just wondered, was all.[/blockquote]

Rhoswen tried to keep up with the girls conversation, she struggled for a moment but then caught up with what Alina was speaking about. She smiled slightly, it was just a tilt of her lips, "It's okay, really." She said at first before listening to Alina speak about her name.
"It means white rose in Irish." She explained to Alina before matching her stride and walking eaiser with her, not really getting tired out this time because she wasn't paying to much attention to the wind anymore, just letting it flow gently around her, playing with her hair.
"Favourite fruit, hmm." Rhoswen was quiet for a moment as she thought about it. "Watermelon and Honeydew Melon. I guess are my absolute favourites." Although Rhoswen went quiet at her next question. "My eye sight is leaving me, so I have good days where I can see 20/20 and then i have days where i can't see at all. Like today." She explained in a soft tone.
At the note about where she lived, she nodded slightly but then tilted her head, "I live in Maple Hallow, You?" She asked.

Alina breathed a bit, looking over to the girl. The last thing she ever wanted was to run someone off because Alina was making accidental mistakes. She was just glad the girl seemed to understand, seemed to be alright with it. Alina didn’t really know how to change herself to be what other people wanted her to be. And she didn’t understand why anyone would. She knew that her mother could do it easily, and Alina was glad that she hadn’t inherited that. She was glad she wasn’t really ANYTHING like her mother. Except she did have a slightly addictive personality, and that’s why she always had some kind of sugar on her. Because sugar was the best kind of thing to be addicted to, of course. No, that was sarcastic. But it was better than things that were actually destructive. Either way, Alina had tried to tone down who she was, but it always just made her really sad. After getting a bit depressed and lost in what she was on earth for, she swore, never again. She smiled a bit, ”That’s beautiful. I wish my name had such a pretty meaning. I mean...the only reason I’m named Alina is because when they asked for a name from my mother, she thought she’d had a boy. And so the very first name she came up with was Allen. So the nurses took pity on me and…feminized it.” She made a slow face. And legally, they could do that. Because her mother hadn’t been sober when Alina was born. So it hadn’t really mattered. Alina was MUCH prettier than Allen, that was for sure. Observing the girl a bit, Alina mused, ”You have such control over our element. I wish I was the same way…” Alina would practice more, but she got distracted so easily! She would probably have a better knowledge of Wind if she actually worked with it more. It could’ve helped her out when she’d gotten into a fight with Altair. That girl knew her element like the back of her hand…Alina had the upper hand with her element, but no idea how to use it. She was just glad it got broken up when it did or Alina would’ve died. She wouldn’t think about that now, though. No use a mood change over something in the past. ’Those are good. I like those. I like grapes and bananas too…and pineapple. Most fruits are good.” Alina felt things get a bit serious as Rhoswen answered, nodding slowly, and she glanced to the girl. ”Well, I’m glad to know you. No matter what kind of day you’re having. And I’ll help get all the watermelon and Honeydew melon you would like.” She entered the store with the girl, grabbing a little basket. ”Do you want to hold the basket?” She looked around a bit. Oh, the looks the girls were getting. Two beautiful girls with such white blonde hair – it wasn’t a normal sight. She walked with the girl a bit, more into the store. ”I live at the school, for right now. My Nana lives in the city, but I believe we’re moving to Maple Hollow soon. So that should be fun.”[/blockquote]
