Tiberius climbs the steps to the Thunder dormitories and finds himself looking around the common room. "Wow... it's so... big...." He said with a smile. "So this is the common room. Cool." He walks over to a couch and puts his guitar and bags down before having a seat, finding the couch incredibly comfortable. This was a comfort and luxury that Tiberius was not accustom to, and so it made him more excited then most, but to him this was life in luxury. "I can't believe I get to live in this huge place." He would say to himself excitedly, lying back and enjoying himself.
Tiberius had only ever dreamed of living in a place like this; everything looked so nice and clean and it was almost overwhelming for the boy. For the first time in a long while, he felt excited, energetic, and perhaps even a little happy that his life made a turn like this. Perhaps this was the beginning of a whole new life for him. Maybe it wasn't so bad getting pulled out a foster home and coming here. All the evidence thus far was making it seem so; not that he had a choice though.
He closes his eyes and relaxes, it was the first chance he really had to just sit down in a quiet place and gather himself in a long time. Living in a foster home of seven kids did not really leave any space for quiet time and living in a city did not help any either. But here, there was so many places to just sit by yourself and soak in the ambiance, dwell on your own thoughts, and just isolate yourself for a little while. To Tiberius, this was a wonderful thing.

Though living within the realms of the Hollow, Kennedy was one of those people that you could catch on campus at almost any given time. While the bustling Academy was not as quiet as her lavish housing she had the pleasure of occupying at home, the Beaufort was able to get a lot more done when she was restrained from the distractions at home during the week. The Academy was like her home-away-from-home, which meant she felt confident just walking around in her pajamas when she had finished with all her classes and knew she wasn't going to leave the dormitories unless she really needed too.
Usually, the common room was fairly empty. Those who were there weren't in their long and it was mostly just a place of settlement before you disappeared into your appropriate room. The fire place would sometimes crackle happily, but the light of the commons came from various sources. The storm clouds and other such condensation hovered around the windows, it seemed, waiting to get a good charge once somebody flipped their rocker.
For these reasons, it somewhat surprised the Thunder to find somebody else in the common room as she made her way down in her pajamas to read by the fireplace. He was carrying a few bags, or had been before he put them down, and seemed to have collapsed into the expanse of the couches that tended to remain empty unless it was the weekends. She listened as he talked to himself, seeming to be rather excited about his location. Kenny clutched her book to her chest as she moved almost eloquently towards the circle of couches that faced towards the fireplace.
The boy appeared young, more than likely a freshman, and adorable in a childish way. Not anything that Kennedy was actually attracted too, but she took into account how people may appear to others in order to analyze social rank. That was how the life of the people on the sidelines went. She wouldn't take her time to try and get to meet somebody that would eventually just turn against her.
"Don't worry. It starts seeming a lot smaller," she explained, taking a seat a generous distance away from the stranger. Giving a smirk, she spoke. "Sorry if I startled you. I'm Kennedy Beaufort," the brunette introduced, giving a nod as if to show him that he could introduce himself now.

Tiberius jumped a little at hearing the other's voice, he had not seen her since his eyes were closed and she moved so quietly. "Oh, sorry, did not hear you there." He looks over the girl, noticing she was older than he was. Wow, he thought to himself, she's really attractive. He gives her a small smile. "Nice to meet you Kennedy. My name's Tiberius Wolfe. I just started here at the academy." He gave her a pretty standard greeting. "And I'll tell you, none of the homes I lived in had a room this big." he gives a small chuckle. "Hell, this room could probably fit every bedroom I've ever had in it."
He was surprised to only see one person other than himself here. "So... it's really quiet around here. I have not seen many people in the dorms." He had seen a few other elementals on his way here, a few waters which gave him kind of a glare and just that generally uncomfortable feeling, it was strange to him feeling such a strange sense of repulsion like that without even knowing why, just innately wanting to avoid them. "Is it always so dead around here?" He asked, knowing very little about the academy and life on campus.
He was not sure if he could ever think of this place as small. You could probably fit every single house he has ever lived in throughout his entire life into this academy. The dormitory alone could fit the last place he lived in. And yet, here was a girl telling him that he would come to think of this place as small. He figured that she must come from a wealthy family, he knew that the houses he lived in had all been relatively small, he never lived in a big house or anything. Still, it did make him curious. Though he was still cautious.

Kennedy gave a quiet laugh as she realized that she startled the boy. He spoke formally, almost too rigidly, as he apologized for not hearing her come in and then introducing himself as Tiberius. It wasn't often that students came half-way through the year, but she could understand why. Maybe his powers hadn't settled in yet, or he had been hiding out with his parents trying to avoid the Academy taking their children. Either way, it was good that he got here before somebody else found him.
She nodded as he explained that he never had a house that had a room that big, before going on to say that every bedroom he had probably could fit into. The large expanse of the commons was actually rather large for the traffic that it got. But, everything about the giant room was homey. It wasn't intimidating in the least, the items in the room positioned so as to make use of the space it provided. "I honestly would be a bit jealous, if you had a room the size of the Thunder dorm," she joked, giving a smirk. Her house was definitely big, but it didn't have a room that size. And considering the size of the Ulrich house, possibly the largest in the Hollow, she didn't think there was anything house big enough to house one of the Academy's dorms.
Kenny nodded as he observed the state of the dorm. "Thunder's tend to be... My seclusive than the other Elementals," she explained, giving a shrug. "But there's always the chance that you'll run into somebody," the brunette continued, stretching out on the couch and propping her book on her knees. "As for around campus, anybody is fair game, so I'd keep your eyes open," she finished, a smirk coming onto her features.
She flipped through the pages of her book, trying to recall where she had been before she misplaced her bookmark. "If you need any help around campus, I'd keep to people around your Element," the younger Beaufort advised, glancing at the boy. "Waters and Earths are no good for you anyways, and the Fires may or may not help you," she continued. "Depends on what mood they're in, but I would try to stick to other Thunders for any important information."

Tiberius nods, realizing he probably sounded like a child. Still, he was a bit overwhelmed. All of the foster homes he had lived his entire life in were rather small; most of the families were lower middle class really. He listened to her explanation, giving a small nod. "So I have heard." He would give a small smile and pull his guitar into his lap, running his fingers along the strings. "I suppose I don't mind that really... been a long time since I've had any real alone time..." He thought back on all of the foster kids he left behind. The girl was right; he never really tried to make friends with any of them. If anything, Tiberius was proof that Thunders tend to lean to isolation more than anything.
Now that he thought about it, he wondered if any others he met in his foster homes were like him; gifted with an element. Maybe he should have gotten to know some of them. He shrugs it off and sighs. "This is all just weird. Was it this weird when you first came here? You know, when these powers started showing up? All it's done is freak me out. Almost got kicked out of a home the first time they showed up."He referred to a time where he had gotten into a fist fight with another foster child and had gotten so angry he had accidentally caused a nearby light bulb to explode. Ever since then, he had felt like a freak; isolated himself even more. It was a weight off of his shoulders, though, knowing he was not the only one.

Kennedy listened patiently as the the boy mused over the new information he had received. He seemed more complacent than most of the Thunders he had met, but it wasn't expected for every Thunder to fit their "cookie-cutter" mold of personality that they had. Hell, she was a lot more friendly and violent when she first discovered her powers. There were a lot of reasons she was the way she was and simply "because she was a Thunder" was not why Kenny behaved this way.
The boy had a guitar in his lap, somewhat intriguing her. It was amazing, really, how many students in the Academy had some sort of musical or artistic talent. When he asked if it was weird for her when she first came to the Academy, she shook her head. "I come from a strong line of Elementals," she explained, referring to her dad's side as she took the liking towards. Her mother's side was... Weak to say the least. But love and will to save a line came strong and the Beaufort's did not have any kids without their father's Elemental dominance.
"But yeah, my powers settling in was definitely something of a... Shocker," she commented, a smirk coming on her face as she made her pun and shaking her head. "Did you not have any warning?" Kennedy asked, wondering how exactly the boy went about being surprised that he had powers.
ooc: sorry so short, gotta run.

Tiberius would give a small nod. So the gifts tended to run in the family lines. She was providing a lot of information that Tiberius did not know. Not that it helped him much, seeing as he has been in foster care since he was a baby. He never knew his parents, there was never any real record of him since he had been left on the doorstep of a church as an infant. "I cannot say that I did. One day, they kind of just started to appear." He shrugs. "There was never any way to know what was coming. Until it happened." He said plainly to her with a small shrug and a faked smile. He was being friendly of course; he felt that he would need at least one person who did not hate him in order to survive the academy, a tactic that seemed to work at every other school he had attended.
A thought popped into his head."Is this the only academy for elementals? Are there others in different countries?" He thought it was a fair question. He was quite a ways away from the region he was familiar with, not to mention this world of people with elemental powers.

The boy nodded, but she had a feeling that he didn't completely understand. The whole "Elemental" thing, apparently, was a bizarre subject for those who ran in circles outside of Maple Hollow. Kennedy herself wouldn't know, but it was apparent that not everybody had these powers. If so, then why were there so few books about people with powers? The majority of those that existed never made a mention to that sort of idea. Or maybe everybody had them and they were just hiding them. Whatever the matter, it seemed that he didn't know exactly what had been going on. Which was alright by her.
She hated talking to people who thought they knew everything.
He explained that one day his powers had just started to appear, that he didn't know that it was happening until it did. She tried to imagine the shock that somebody would go through, waking up and realizing that they could change the currents running through the light bulbs? Kennedy had watched her parents use their powers, had seen them settle in with her older sister. She knew what she was expecting. She figured it would have been the same sort of deal. What if she hadn't gotten powers? What if the gene had skipped her, the family line from her mother not passing on? Where would she be today?
When Tiberius asked if there were any other Academies for Elementals, she tilted her head. Thinking... That was a good question. There was no way that all the elementals on the planet were here in Maple Hollow. But there were a lot of transfer students from around the world to come to school here. Maybe it was. As it were, she merely shrugged. "I'm not entirely sure. We must be the best, though, with all the kids we get from other countries," Kennedy suggested. She shifted in her chair so that she was laying on her stomach, facing the boy with her face propped up in her hands. "Where do you come from?" The outside world was something that Kennedy was interested in, something she wanted to see, but never took the time to actually partake in it. She might as well ask as many people as she could about it.

Tiberius would move his guitar down onto of his bags on the floor. He then lays back on the couch, lounging a bit. Taking in her words about the academy, he would just give a nod. Surely there must be another school or city or something. Or maybe people like them were even fewer than he thought; he had figured there must be more if they had a whole town and school here. Maybe they were just so few in number. It was pretty obvious why they had to keep it a secret, sure, but he was kind of bummed to hear that she was not sure if there were other places. Still, 'I do not know' is not 'no'.
When she asks about where he was from, Tiberius would give a small shrug. "Well, I was living in Boston back in the United States before coming here. I stayed in the New England area my whole life, but I moved around a lot. New Hampshire and Massachusetts mostly." He would reply before looking back up to the ceiling a moment. "I don't stay in one place very long. That's the curse of the foster child." He said before letting out a heavy sigh. "But, looks like I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Even if I wanted to, I am fairly certain I would be followed, stopped, or caught. Not that I would fair much better out on my own. Especially if I don't learn to control this... thing. Power. Whatever you want to call it." He smiled a little. "I think it'll be nice to stay in one place for a while... a nice change of pace."
He never really cared much that other people knew he was an orphan, it never really bothered him like people seemed to think it would. Then again, maybe it should have bothered him that he was given up at birth. He guessed that would bother people quite a bit and, maybe, at one time it did bother him a long long time ago. He thought for a moment about all the moving around he did. There was one place he did wish he could have stayed at forever, but that was a long since gone dream that would never come true.

Kennedy watched as the boy shift, moving his guitar to the ground as he repositioned on his chair. She made the assumption that he must travel a lot. For most people she observed, it took a moment to get settled into a new area. They were more tentative, curious, about their surroundings. However, it seemed that--while Tiberius was definitely curious--he did not hesitate to make himself at home. The Academy had never seemed foreign to Kennedy. Both of her parents and her older sister had walked the halls before she had. It was like a second home to her.
She smiled to herself as the boy started talking, explaining that he was born in Boston but he moved around a lot. Sometimes she amazed herself with her observation skills. Other times, she just figured they were average. He explained that he was a foster child, before saying that he was somewhat glad that he would get to stay in one place for a while. What would it be like? To move around constantly? To not really have a family that was packed down? Sure, the Beaufort household wasn't anything stellar, but at least they were together. This boy didn't know that feeling.
Kennedy nodded in acknowledgement to his little spiel. "I guess you could say this, the people and everything, are your family now," she offered, giving a smirk. "I mean, everybody in this dorm is alike. I mean, we don't all look the same," Kenny suggested, giving a shake of her head. "But we've got similar values." If values could be considered powers that, may or may not have, formed from a genetic mutation in their brains. At least they weren't hunted anymore, right?
"So... What did you do when your powers kicked in?" She couldn't help but ask. Everybody was different and for somebody who didn't expect them, it would definitely be an interesting story to hear.
