Damn it was a hot day for a country that usually was too damn cold. Wasn’t Canada supposed to be covered in snow and ice all year long just so the peace pushers could play hockey and all day long? Guess they need a season where they could chop down some trees without freezing their balls off. Nick ran a hand through his short hair as he waited on the line, his patience being tested as a overweight looking mom tried to decided her three topping. If anything this lady should have been down the street at the gym on the treadmill. Nick only had a thirty-minute lunch break and he was not happy about spending it behind wide load here.
As the lady finally finished Nick noticed the giant ice cream mountain she was walking away with. Granted he was here as well, but he wasn’t about to order ice cream mountain with a side order of diabetes. Nick leaned in over the counter as he asked the girl behind the counter if they had any frozen yogurt options. Not like he was about to go around advertising the fact that he was about to get some pansy option of dessert. They guys down at the auto body shop would never let him hear the end of it. So as the girl went away to fix his cup Nick vigilantly kept an eye out for any of his mechanic buddies. To the other customers he probably looked a bit too shifty, but he had an image to maintain. The chocolaty treat did look a lot like regular ice cream to Nick when he was finally squared away.
Cautiously, he stuck his finger into the top, feeling the thick gooey mess cling to it and leaving a small depression in the remaining yogurt. He put his finger into his mouth and instantly moaned at the sensation. Frozen yogurt was the single most amazing thing he had ever tasted. Sweet ecstasy coursed through his body as his tongue registered the various nuances of flavor present in the frozen treat. There was sweet milky chocolate, then a nutty undertone, and the hazelnuts the girl behind the counter went on about. When combined, they created the most instantly intoxicating blend that he had ever experienced. No wonder all the girls went on about this shit, it was just as good as regular ice cream.
Looking up from his yogurt he noticed eyes lingering on him. Maybe they knew what Nick's treat really was and they were silently judging him. No, he knew this look. With a bit of a smirk he looked the stranger square in the eye. "I don't have something on my face do I?" he asked, well aware that he was a little messy from work. His clothes had some blotches of oil from his last tune up. This was why he couldn't where anything nice during work hours.
