Alrighty then. Inhale, exhale. Left, right, left right, and then stop. Isabella pursed her lips, leaning against a tree as she looked around. Why were they meeting at the lake of all places again? Oh yeah, right, less people - and she had been the one to suggest it. God, she was incredibly stupid at times. She hadn't wanted to make Emmett uncomfortable by hanging out in a place filled with people, but the thing is, she can't swim! Her fear of drowning has caused her to be extremely weary and uneasy around large bodies of water. What had she been thinking?! She steeled her breath though. She'll be fine. Emmett will come and he'll be there to look out for her.
A beautiful Saturday morning gave Isabella the seemingly harmless idea of going for a walk around the Academy grounds. She'd gone and invited Emmett for the said walk after breakfast, and was waiting for him to show up. She wasn't making any move to step away from the tree or go any closer to the water. Nope. She was very content where she was.
It was kind of amusing how different she and the thunder elemental were. Where he was uncomfortable with large crowds, she was uncomfortable with being all alone. Where he was tolerable, she was short-tempered. But then they also had similarities. They never want to be abandoned. They both had Kai as a best friend, and more. And while she and Emmett were perhaps not as close as he and Kai were, she'd like to think that next to Kai, she was his closest friend. They were a rather odd trio but not entirely uncommon. Besides, she didn't care about what other said about them. Those two were her best friends, no one can say otherwise.
She looked down at what she was wearing to distract her from the fact that she was just a couple of feet away from the very deep (from what she's heard) lake. Bella was decked in a pair of jeans and a red tee shirt that went well with her yellow sneakers. Her hair was down in its natural arrangement, and she had no make up on - as usual. She was never one for them after all.

Emmett sighed from his place on the tree, stretching as he yawned and waited for Isabella. He’d skipped heading to the mess hall and instead settled for a granola bar for breakfast; he knew how busy the mess hall got in the mornings—hell, during all the meals, so he preferred not getting mixed up in the crowd and potentially suffer from a panic attack. Emmett always played it safe when it came down to his… condition. If he could really call it that. That’s why he rarely went into Maple Hallow. Too many people and crowded sidewalks; he felt suffocated the moment he stepped foot there, and each time he even attempted going into town, things just went horrible.
Leaving that thought, he began plucking the leaves from the branches and twirling them between his fingers, half-wondering if he should’ve told Isabella that he never really ate breakfast. Or rather, that he was already waiting and she could come as soon as she liked to, or however late she liked to—because Emmett was fine either way. It was relaxing, sitting in this tree and having the view of the lake in front of him. It was also a plus that the lake was rather secluded today and he’d just be able to relax without any interruptions. Besides, he hadn’t remembered the last time he and Isabella had a decent conversation, one on one. It was always the three of them, Kai included, so naturally the two more outgoing elementals clicked better and often times Emmett was the one watching them, just enjoying the company; never really partaking in it. He and Isabella weren’t as close as he and Kai, but the Thunder still considered her a good friend. It got a little awkward sometimes, considering their contrasting personalities, but Emmett dealt with it just fine. It wouldn’t be before long when Isabella started talking again, and everything would fall into place as if nothing happened.
Emmett glanced down just in time, finding the Fire just underneath the tree he was currently perched upon. She looked uneasy—though, that could be just his own imagination—and he contemplated if he should make himself known before jumping down; but of course, in Emmett’s mind, that took too much effort. Gripping the branch, he jumped down, soundly landing on his feet next to her as if nothing happened. “Have a good breakfast?” Emmett asked nonchalantly, patting off any remnants of tree bark and leaves that might’ve tangled itself onto him and glanced at her, a somewhat amused look on his face. He should really stop with the whole scaring people think. People might begin to think he was weird.
