DISTINGUISHING FEATURES When she was younger she was bullied a lot for her front two teeth being slightly bigger compared to the rest of her teeth. She has since gotten over the insecurity. Also an avid user of her hands when talking to get her point across.
CLOTHING STYLE Jessie's usual outfit choices would better be called costumes on most days. She has strange patterned one piece slips, funky layering, and outlandish color combinations as well as strange pop culture influences. Jessie is recognized for an unconventional musical and performance style added to some of her performance pieces that mixes soul vocals with contemporary R&B, pop, and hip-hop beats. POSITIVE TRAITS
- Adventurous: Jessie was always one to escape the watchful eye of her parents or be the first to volunteer up on stage. She has never had a fear of putting herself out there or presenting things in a new way.
- Affectionate: Maybe it was a direct result from being raised by such cold parents, but Jessie is always ready to offer up a hug, assuring pat on the shoulder, or even cuddle with people she barely knows. She is a very touchy feely sort of woman.
- Creative: It goes without saying that Jessie has to have some sort of creative spark to be an artist.
- Energetic: Whether it’s just talking or physically moving around, Jessie childlike endless battery seems to not be slowing down anytime soon.
- Silly: There are times when people should just forget about the rules and stop acting like an adult all the time. Jessie is a firm believer and practices this school of thought actively
NEGATIVE TRAITS
- Boisterous: She can be noisy, confident, and too off putting for many people. Her crazy style seems to be receive negativity by many people as well
- Messy: You say messy, Jessica says creative chaos. Her work place looks like a tornado might have been in her place. Jessie is not keen on organization, both in the home or classroom
- Forgetful: With some many wild thoughts running through her mind, Jessica doesn’t have the ability to retain short term memories. If you ask her about important details or meetings not within the next few days she will completely blank out.
- Unconventional: Unconventional is a kind term for what people think Jessie mostly. Her students probably would call her bat-shit crazy.
- Opinionated: All of Jessie’s major pieces of artwork are merely artistic outlets used to raise awareness on social issues she believes in. If you cross swords with Jessie, you will not hear the end of her rants.

HISTORY
Jessie was an extremely happy, smiling baby ever since the Yates brought her back from the hospital. She grew up in the upper middle class in Chadwell Heath, London, England since both of her parents have doctorates in English literature and are professors. During her first few years Jessica did not give her parents much time to get sleep. She was a constant running mass of energy, constantly tiring out her parents and nannies. No wall was safe from her creative crayon murals. Her mother and father would dress her up for the day, and by the time it was noon, Jessie took it upon herself to go through several ‘wardrobe changes.’ Many days were spent walking down the streets in Essex with one of her nannies. It was a typical rainy day, but she saw an older woman in a crazy assortment of rain gear with strange patterns and colors. Jessie escaped her nanny’s grip and began to talk to the stranger and asked her a bunch of questions about what she was wearing. The woman was nice enough to entertain Jessie and she told Jessica it was fine to be who she wanted to be, even if her parents didn’t approve.
Once Jessica reached the age of five, her parents spent less time around the house and Jessie spent more time with nannies. Also at the age of five, Jessica’s sister Scarlett was born. Unlike Jessica, Scarlett was shaping up to be much more like her parents. Jessica has always been a creative person. With her off the wall energy, creative passion, and sound stage presence, art was always a clear choice for her. She had little exposure from her parents and school, so most of Jessie’s style and influences are self-taught/observed through her own ways. Jessie attended the traditional English primary school setting until her family moved to the United States when she was ten. Both in England and in the States, Jessica was subjected to lots of bullying, first because of her slightly larger two front teeth, then her outlandish and creative personality. Once she was in the States she was mocked for her thick Essex’s accent.
In her teenage years, Jessica learned to move past the public humiliation and began to feed off it. Jessica learned about her elemental powers while she was mixing up paints one day. She was in the middle of her excuse of an art class in 8th grade when the water in her cleaning jar began to act strange. At first she paid no mind to it, but after a few minutes, she noticed the water floating in mid-air, following the movements she was creating with her paintbrush on her canvas. For as long as she can remember, Jessie likes to refuse her parents’ strict regulations and social conformities, which usually causes strife between the family. They are uptight stuffy, know it all scholars who enjoy quiet time and are awkward around others when not teaching/lecturing behind a desk. In and around school, Jessie was always honest about who she was, but feared that some rumors might make there way back home to her conservative parents. Not many other females her age were gay and she was forced to explore her sexuality with older women in secret. Thinking she was safe from her parents, one day she invited a girl back to her place. Unfortunately for Jessie she had guessed wrong. Her parents interrupted the two, kicking both Jessie and her visitor out of the house saying that it was the final straw of her ‘weirdness’ they could take. Since leaving her parent’s tyranny, Jessie has been completely open about her sexuality.
She spent her high school at the Academy, and during her time there, half of her time there in the dorms before she was kicked out of her family’s home. After her high school years at the Academy, Jessie moved back to England on her own to attend an Art University. She dropped out of University after getting into an argument with her Professor over the ‘correct’ ways of creative progress. Other than her time spent at the Academy, Jessie was not a fan of school. Partly because of the bullies, but also because of the lack of focus in the arts. Jessica had never taken to academia as her parents had. She could not agree with what they were trying to force her to do. Without finishing her first year, she slowly began to build her own method of achieving success. This is when Jessie started to take her art to the streets, sometimes forming rallies or tagging buildings in a form of protest. After a few months of guerilla art pieces and activist performances, Jessie struck gold. Her public art pieces were gaining an underground following when a documentary filmmaker spotted her and asked to make a film about her. The movie gained Jessica public fame in the art community and opened the doors to well known galleries offering her space to feature her work.
At the age of twenty-four, Jessie was offered to teach at the Academy, allowing her enough time to fulfill any future arrangements for galleries and shows. At first she was reluctant, but saw it as an opportunity to enrich young lives with the art education she never received. Jessica moved back to Canada and now lives in modest single room apartment in the middle class residential area. She rents out another apartment next door used purely as a studio. She knocked out part of on of the walls and put in a door. Don’t tell the landlord! The artist had a secret motive in mind when she accepted the position. Now that her sister Scarlett is nineteen, Jessie wants to use this job as a means of reconnecting with her sister. Jessica and Scarlett’s relationship has always been strange. Though Scarlett is much more like their parents, the two sisters could always get along to some extent. The two are almost like night and day. Scarlett has always been a reclusive bookworm, obedient to her parents’ demands to a fault. Scarlett has a bit of her parents’ no-nonsense attitude, but is the only member of her family to keep in touch with her sister. Now that Scarlett attends University classes at the Academy, she tries to keep her relationship with her sister a secret to the other students. She does not enjoy when students try to label Jessie as some strange crazy Teacher.
