Leo didn’t plan on getting drunk that night. In the back of his mind, he knew he exactly what he was doing every time he reached over for the plastic red cup filled with an unknown “juice,” though for some reason, the Wind didn’t seem to care. He just wanted a release—and getting drunk would help him do that.
Normally he made it a point to just get tipsy at the most. He never liked getting drunk. The hangovers, the forgetfulness, all of it. It gave him headaches and Leo just didn’t like that kind of pain, though it was quite silly to think of. It was nothing an aspirin couldn’t fix, but any slight pain made Leo cringe and panic, so he’d rather do without the head-splitting headaches that being drunk induced. So why was he getting drunk, now? Perhaps for one night he wanted to go against the current, or maybe he just felt like it—or maybe it was something deeper than he liked to lead on. Vulnerabilities. He was taught not to show them.
Being alone with his oldest brother did that to him. He’d tense up, become anxious, and stay quiet. Quieter than he usually was. Leo never felt comfortable around him and he felt the mutual feelings coming back to him. They never had a good relationship and the Wind had a good hunch as to why—he just never liked to vocalize it. He didn’t like being called a murderer.
Maybe that’s why Leo was here, getting shitfaced drunk. He was forced to be with Everett alone. Of course, that didn’t last more than five minutes, and Leo didn’t hesitate to leave without a word. He had a cell phone. If Everett wanted to call him, then he would. But for now, he’d stay at this strangers house, be surrounded by strangers, until a stranger took him home.
After stumbling around the house with his red cup in hand, Leo spotted a familiar mop of hair amongst the crowd. He grinned stupidly, stumbling along the crowd and took Alec’s arm in his hand. “Heeeey, Alec!” he slurred, still grinning. Maybe he now had a drinking buddy with him! Perfect. Leo was starting to feel a bit lonely. “You should have some of this, it’s really good~” He thrust the plastic cup at him, leaning against his friend a bit heavily. This… probably wasn’t one of Leo’s better plans. But he was getting away, trying to forget. For one night, he would let loose.

*one last breath and just spin the bottle now* [atrb=border,0,true] [style=width: 250px; height: 290px; padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11px; text-align:justify; color: #333; line-height: 99%; overflow: auto] Alec was excited that school had started up again. He got to be back at the Academy, where something exciting was always happening. It was back to movie nights with friends and pulling outrageous pranks, sometimes on a school-wide scale. Then there were the parties, like the one he was at right now. It was one of those parties celebrating the beginning of the school year, but really it was like every other one. Everyone would get shitfaced, play weird party games, or hook up in the upstairs bathroom. Or maybe even a combination of all three. Alec preferred the weird party games or would maybe even just stick to people watching. Sometimes it was even more fun watching drunken shenanigans than being a part of them, especially when said shenanigans end in pain or embarrassment.
Right now, he was content with sipping from his coke and watching everyone play truth or dare in the living room. Most of it was sexual, like daring people to switch underwear or flash everyone. He'd had to shield his eyes a couple times for that last one.
He was startled from his people watching when he felt a hand on his arm. Alec grinned when he noticed the person connected to that hand. He giggled at Leo's drunken speech. "Having fun, Leo?" he asked, still grinning. Alec shook his head when offered some of Leo's drink. "No thanks, I'm sticking to my coke," he replied, raising his cup to bring attention to it. "And you should think of trading yours in for a water," he suggested, gripping Leo's shoulder and attempting to lead him towards the kitchen. "You look completely smashed, man." [/style] | [/style] |

It’d been a while since Leo got as drunk as he was. Probably a rare thing for others to see him drunk, too, though honestly it could be taken as both a good and a bad thing. Good, because he had a side where he could let loose without a care in the world. Bad, because he did stupid shit 90% of the time. This night was teetering closer to the bad side if someone didn’t tear the drink from his hand now. Leo grinned at his friend, putting a hand on his shoulder on the Water to steady himself, and leaned against him heavily. Yeesh, another thing he hated about being drunk—his balance deteriorated two times as worse than the normal human, that was for sure. “Of course I am! Can’t you tell?” Leo laughed to himself, the stupid grin on his face again as he took another sip. It burned his throat and somehow didn’t taste as sweet as he remembered it to be.
“Are you sure?” he asked, thrusting the cup at Alec’s face again, its contents splashing out a bit. “You’ll be missing out~” Leo’s sing-song voice could barely be heard in his own ears over the loud music as he spoke; at least in his ears. There was also a loud buzzing which he assumed wasn’t normal, but he didn’t bother mentioning it. Too much hassle, and he was there for some fun! “Nooooo, why would I do that?” he whined, though he let his friend lead him to the kitchen. The contents of the cup began to splash around, more so than before, as he stumbled along. By the time they reached the kitchen it was empty and he pouted, tossing the cup over his shoulder. “I am not.” Leo leaned against the counter, grabbing a water bottle obediently. “I’m just a little tipsy.” Because stumbling around, slurring his speech, and the clear smell of alcohol radiating from him told that he was just tipsy. Leo logic = best logic there ever was.
A buzzing in his pocket suddenly startled him and he reached inside his pocket, shuffling around to grasp it. Once he finally managed to get it out, he glanced at the screen and narrowed his eyes, throwing it on the counter as if it carried a life-threatening disease. Everett. Like hell was he going to pick up.

*one last breath and just spin the bottle now* [atrb=border,0,true] [style=width: 250px; height: 290px; padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11px; text-align:justify; color: #333; line-height: 99%; overflow: auto] Alec immediately responded to Leo leaning on him by shifting his weight, making sure he wouldn't be knocked over. He giggled when Leo said he was having fun, amused by how enthusiastic he was when drunk. "Oh yeah, you seem like you're having a great time," he said. "This party's great, eh?"
Alec moved to make sure none of the drink spilled on him. Woah, buddy. He laughed at Leo's sing song voice and shook his head. "I may be missing out," he told Leo, "but I am driving tonight." He paused and smiled, taking a drink from his coke. "And when I drive, I make sure not to drink even a drop of alcohol. Sorry, Leo." He really wasn't sorry at all. It didn't seen like Leo was here with anyone so he probably needed Alec to help him from getting too shitfaced. And Alec usually had trouble keeping people from getting wasted when he was drinking as well.
He chuckled when Leo whined about not wanting to switch to water, but was grateful when he didn't try to keep them from entering the kitchen. He noticed that Leo's drink kept spilling as they walked. Dam, Leo really was completely smashed. He was glad to have gotten to him when he did or his friend might have gone a bit overboard. Alec smiled when Leo did, indeed, follow his advice and grab a water. He laughed when Leo said he was only tipsy, raising an eyebrow. "Oh no," he told Leo, leaning against the counter next to him and slinging an arm around his shoulder with a smile. "You are definitely drunk, my friend. Really drunk." He squeezed his shoulders in a playful, quick hug. "But I am here to help," Alec continued. "I am here to make sure you don't have a major hangover and/or puke on something expensive."
Alec frowned when Leo threw his phone on the counter. What was that all about? "Something wrong, Leo?" he asked, slightly concerned. Maybe it had to do with why he'd gotten so wasted? [/style] | [/style] |

“It is the greatest thing ever,” he agreed, throwing an arm around his friend’s shoulders as he did so. Leo was always a bit more affectionate when he was drunk despite who he was with, so Alec wasn’t an exception. He wouldn’t mind, right? They were friends. “You should come to more parties with me,” he offered, the lazy grin on his face again. Leo practically lived for parties ever since his brothers took him to one last year; the energy, the people—everything. He fed off it.
Leo pouted at the Water. Didn’t drink? Even a little bit? Sure, he only drank until he was a bit tipsy and the rare times he got shitfaced drunk, so Alec not drinking was a bit weird to him. Leo just really liked the feeling it gave him, and this time it was numbness. At least Alec was responsible. Leo wondered if he could ever get his friend to be corrupted—even if it was just for one night. “Fine, more for me~” And the Wind took another drink, savoring the burning feeling as it slid down his throat. He just knew e was going to have a bad aftertaste in the morning. “Can you give me a ride home?” he asked, looking down at his cup. Sure, he was drunk but he still had at least a bit of common sense left. Walking home in the middle of the night didn’t sound appealing to him.
A bit of water spilled onto him as he drank and he frowned, wiping his mouth with his wrist. Holy crap, the simplest of things were getting a bit harder for Leo to control. It was a good thing he found Alec when he did; who knew how many more drinks he would’ve had? Leo wouldn’t have stopped, that’s for sure. Unless they ran out, or something. Which was highly unlikely, considering the sneakiness of high school kids. They never seemed to run out of alcohol. “You, Alec, are an amazing friend,” he slurred, laughing a bit afterwards. That was a good call. He hated hangovers, and he didn’t want to pay for something he puked uncontrollably over. “Maybe next time our roles will be switched, and you, my friend, will be taken care of.” He grinned, nudging his ribs with his elbow. It was highly unlikely, but Leo would still keep that promise. Who knows? There might be a hidden party animal under all-things-innocent Alec.
Leo really didn’t want to pick up the phone. He didn’t want to talk to Everett, period, so he let the phone continue to ring until it eventually stopped, the words one missed call covering the screen in its annoyingly bright letters. He needed to change that. “No,” he said stubbornly, refusing to admit anything. Leo shoved the phone back into his pocket and flashed Alec another grin. “No worries. Just the big bro calling. No big deal~” Except it was.

*one last breath and just spin the bottle now* [atrb=border,0,true] [style=width: 250px; height: 290px; padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11px; text-align:justify; color: #333; line-height: 99%; overflow: auto] Alec smiled when Leo slung his arm around his shoulder. He knew Leo was pretty affection when he was drunk so he'd expected it. He didn't usually mind it when his friends were affection with him, but he tried to avoid it with his guy friends just in case someone got the wrong idea. Or the right idea, in Alec's case. "Yeah, sure," he told Leo with a nod. "I'd love to come to more parties with you." He was sure he'd be able to make time for more parties around his schoolwork. He was a good student and could use a break now and then. Plus, it was spending time with friends and he always made sure he had time for that.
Alec nodded. "Sure, I'll give you a ride," he said with a smile. He was glad Leo's intoxicated state didn't completely impair his judgement. He really hadn't been looking forward to wrestling anyone into his car to make sure they got home safe.
"Woah, careful there," Alec said when Leo spilled some water on himself. "Think you should go home yet?" he asked. He only asked because it wasn't too late that he had to get Leo home and now that he was getting water he could afford to party a bit more. If Leo felt he'd had enough though, he'd gladly take him home. " Aw, thanks," Alec grinned when Leo said he was an amazing friend. He shrugged when Leo said maybe their roles would be switched next time. "If I'm not designated driver, maybe," he said. "Though I'm sure I'd be significantly less drunk." He'd had a sip or two of alcohol before, but he'd never really drank before. That didn't mean he wasn't interested in drinking though. He was a little nervous what he'd be like drunk though.
Alec studied Leo's face when he said nothing was wrong, seeing if he could read him. "Hmm, liar," he said and took a sip of his coke. Were him and his brother fighting or something? "You obviously don't wanna talk about it though so I won't push." He gave Leo a smile. [/style] | [/style] |

“Good!” he shouted over the music, grinning widely. “Maybe I can finally get you to loosen up a bit!” It wasn’t a bad thing, of course, that Alec was probably a million times more responsible than anyone in the immediate area by vowing to stay sober in order to deliver his friends safely home. Usually Leo was also that kind of friend, but yeah, he was currently drunk and could barely walk straight, let alone drive safely. Sometimes he let his emotions get the better of him, and in turn, he’d numb himself with the best anesthesia he could get his hands on—alcohol. Obviously it hasn’t been going well.
“Home… sounds like a good idea right now,” he slurred, stumbling a bit before he leaned against the counter. Leo was sufficiently wasted right now, that was for sure. And even in his drunkenness, he knew better than to keep drinking. It wasn’t going to solve anything, as much as he wished it would. Besides, Leo was starting to have a pretty big headache with the loud music being blasted in his ears and the alcohol that was driving his high at that moment. He probably should have checked what kind of alcohol he was consuming—it made him feel completely shitfaced after a couple of drinks. “Don’t worry. I’ll be the designated driver,” he said as he clapped a hand on Alec’s shoulder, grinning stupidly. Just… keep Leo away from the refreshments. Everything always managed to get spiked somehow.
Yeah, Leo was never good with hiding his emotions. He kept calm, but literally everything could be read from his facial expressions. Him currently being drunk probably didn’t help the situation, but instead of staying silent, he pouted in defiance. “Am not.” Leo shoved the phone towards his friend’s face, as if the phone would give him proof of anything. No one really knew the situation between him and his older brother, after all. It’d be hard to explain, but he was thankful when Alec dropped the topic. Leo slung an arm around his shoulder, grinning, “Take me home, yeah?” And not until after those words left his lips, he realized how inappropriate that sounded. Oh, well. He was drunk. People would understand, even the sober ones.
