IS THIS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE
finding out i've got the guts to say[/center]
It was about time he arrived at the lake. It seemed like it was miles from the school. Yes, he knew that it wasn’t, but when it was stumping through the nights that it had been snowing, it seemed far. The snow had just fallen on top of the older snow. The hard snow was more crisp and solid, but the new snow covering it was soft and powdery. It might as well have been fairy dust. It almost looked like the movie snow. Justin, being a giant fan of movies, was always fascinated how movies used all kinds of different ways to make snow. Little pieces of paper all ripped up. Little bits of white plastic pieces. Everything different and unique to the director and whoever has the ideas. Whoever said movies were only okay were kidding themselves. Movies were amazing in every aspect. He wished that he would be able to become a part with it. With what he did with his powers. He doubted it.
Most of the days had been freezing cold, but today wasn’t all that bad. It was like a small break in the middle of winter. It was not warm by any means, but it wasn’t to the point where he wanted to be shut in and cuddled up. The sun was shining on the blinding white snow and there wasn’t a hint of wind in sight. He couldn’t stand wearing his contacts a day longer, so he was actually wearing his big glasses. A pair he didn’t wear often, especially in this weather, but they felt nice on her face. It was good to have something off of your eyes for twenty-four hours. He also hadn’t shaved in a while, but that didn’t bother him a bit. Whenever he was out of the classroom, he embraced not have to deal with the annoyance of having to shave. Such a wonderful little thing of not having to be in class. It was such a pity that he wanted to learn so much, or he would be living in Maple Hollow.
He wasn’t sure what urged him to go up here and do this. He supposed that he ought to take advantage of the weather when it was somewhat bearable. The Texan native had a really hard time with the cold. It wasn’t his forte after all. Though he supposed in some ways, having wind was similar. Anything could be warm if it weren’t for the bitter wind biting at someone’s face. Wind was powerful. Justin thought that it was the most underestimated element. He didn’t think that the other elements realized with the right amount of wind, fire could be put out, water could be washed away, and earth could be pulled out of its roots. Though he did admit that thunder didn’t really have one on him. Considering it was technically lightning, the only argument he could make was that wind helped the formation, but that could be done without when it came to thunder elements.
That all made sense except for the fact he usually wasn’t an outdoors person. He would prefer to look at the great nature that was the outdoors and observe it inside. Read a book by a window was like the same thing. Better than the same thing. Right now, despite the change in temperature, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to hold a book with his fingers and concentrate on reading it. He would be more focused on the fact his lack of moving around was making him cold. It was the exact reason that he was moving around. Just walking. Nothing more. It was a slow walk, trudging through the snow that was on the ground and only stopping to observe something. It was just something to keep his legs moving so they didn’t feel like they were going to freeze out here. He wasn’t even sure how long he had been out here.
There was a figure ahead of him. It only looked like a dot from this spot, but it was defiantly one that was coming his way. He wasn’t the only one that decided it would be a nice day to try the walking around thing. He put his arms closer to him before waddling to the path he was heading to. Most people would duck their head in the stranger if that were to ever happen. Look anywhere else. Yet, Justin wasn’t most people. For him, it was very easy to socialize. If he could perform in front of hundreds of people- maybe someday millions of people- than he was able to say hi to a single person. When he finally did approach, he gave the person a half smile, only half looking at her, ”Don’t trip over the tall piles. I know it’s tempting to roll in it, but trust me, it’s cold.” He teased, having little flakes in his hair as he said it.
