TAKE MY HAND , I'LL SHOW YOU THE WILD SIDE Winter was officially over and Ridley was beyond thrilled. She hated the cold, hated snow and rain and storms. Bad weather like that held you prisoner inside of your own home and she hated spending all of her time in doors. It was boring. She liked to get out, to see people, go places and do things. And you couldn't do those things when there were crazy blizzards and torrential downpours. But it wasn't just her dislike of shitty weather and how it kept her locked up inside that had her excited. It was that the party she and a couple of her friends had been planning for months was finally going down.
They'd been planning it since before December, 'a party to top all other parties' in the caves. But the weather had stopped anything from actually happening. Nobody wanted to party in a cave coated in snow and slick with ice. It had turned out that waiting wasn't so bad anyway because they'd had a lot to figure out and prepare, like lighting and music and alcohol. And with over five months of waiting for the weather to get better, they'd managed to get everything they'd needed and though Ridley wasn't one to brag, she thought she and her friends had done a pretty damn good job.
"Shot, shot, shot, shot!"
Ridley was working her way through a line of tequila shots, knocking them back one after the other in an attempt to reach the end before the guy to her left. Slamming the last tequila glass down on the table, she threw her arms up into the air and screamed a cheer along with the small group surrounding the pop-up table. The party was well into its second hour, which meant that it had to be nearing midnight and Ridley was already passing tipsy. But she guessed she shouldn't have been surprised because that had been her third drinking game of the night. 'Slow it down, Frey' Taking a deep breath, she pushed a hand back through her hair and exhaled slowly. Sure tonight was about getting wasted and having fun but she didn't want to be K.O'd before one a.m. She was the type that liked to remember the nights before, to remember all the fun she'd had. Getting so drunk that she blacked out and remembered nothing made the whole thing pretty pointless.
Deciding to grab some water, she began to make her way over to the area where they'd stock piled the alcohol. Bodies pushed and shoved and danced their way through the caverns, cheering and shouting and singing along to some trance song with a heavy bass. She weaved through them, tripping a couple of times but managing to catch herself at the last second. She definitely needed to slow it down. "Hey!" she called back over shoulder at a couple of friends and pointed towards the drinks when they started to urge her over.
Finally reaching the drinks, she leaned down and grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler on the floor but froze when she felt a hand smack and grab her ass. Stiff with annoyance, Ridley straightened and turned to face the asshole who had thought it was okay to come over and grab her. "Do that again and I will kick your ass." He looked surprised, like maybe he'd thought she'd like a total stranger coming over and feeling on her ass. She didn't. Holding his gaze, Ridley didn't take her eyes from him until he'd disappeared back into the crowd. "Ugh," Unscrewing the cap on her water, she pressed the bottle to her lips and took a small mouthful.

A party? Alina couldn’t really believe it. Everyone at the high school was so vastly different. She wasn’t sure if they should even TRY to get so many different people in one place. Though if they all had a common goal, maybe it would be better. People would probably be less on edge if they were all there just to have a good time. Either way, it was going to be interesting and Alina HAD to be there. She, of course, double checked to make sure she was actually invited. She didn’t want to be the one to cause trouble. That would’ve made everyone else’s evening go downhill. She would just be a wallflower, take in the sights, look at the people, see the goings on, and she’d probably be in bed before 1 am. She would say 10, but this party started a bit later. She wasn’t sure how many other winds would be there. They were a neutral element, and truthfully, she hadn’t met that many who actually got along very well with EACHOTHER, let alone other elements. And Earth and Water were not allowed. Alina had friends of both elements – would that mean she wouldn’t be allowed in? She had never been so nervous to go to one place than she was to go to this party tonight.
After getting ready, she grabbed a sweatshirt, pulling it over her outfit. She knew that it was May, and May was warmer, but they were going to be out by the water, and it got chillier there. She knew it shouldn’t be too bad if a lot of people showed up, there would be a lot of body heat. Plus, it WAS thunder and fire. They were the hot heads of the bunch. She grabbed her bag a bit, thinking about it before just grabbing some cash and shoving it in her shoe, taking a few things and stashing them on herself, leaving her bag behind. Better to leave it then something happening to it. IT took a bit after hitch hiking, but soon Alina was heading up the cliffs. She had certainly dressed for the occasion. Even if she was just planning on leaning back and staying out of the limelight, she would catch attention anyway. She couldn’t help it, when she thought party, tutus and corsets were the only things that popped into her head besides balloons. She was pretty sure though, this party would NOT have balloons. She could already hear the music, feel it booming through her chest as she walked in, looking around slowly, her blonde hair catching the light. So many people already! Was she late? She was probably late – those math problems had been tricky and she really didn’t even want to think about that.
Alina moved in a bit, moving to get a drink. She would just take whatever her fingers touched first. She picked up a glass, sipping on it. Some kind of soda. She didn’t even know. Alina was looking around the room before someone almost assault Ridley. She crinkled her nose at the treatment. She knew Ridley from around school. She hadn’t said much to the girl, ever, but she was just sure the two would get along. Though she knew that the Ridley she knew from school wouldn’t put up with stuff like that. She moved over to the girl slowly, shaking her head, ”I would’ve slapped him…” That’s what her Nana told her to do anyway. ”He still got a touch in, and at this point, he might feel he could do it again. Though with what you said, I think that would be kind of interesting.” She laughed a bit, before looking around, swaying to the music a bit. So far, it seemed like a good idea, everyone was enjoying themselves…though Alina wasn’t drunk enough to even start in with everyone else. She put the soda down, grabbing two alcoholic beverages, trying to sip a few sips from both. She had to do something…she wanted to have some fun too.[/blockquote]

Post by PARKER DANIEL CARTER on Feb 9, 2013 12:00:35 GMT -5
Laughter is brilliant, especially when it's at another's expense. Parker had been helping himself to alcohol for the past hour, chatting to people he recognised but didn't know (nor care to remember) their names. Parker's been known to get hold of some of the more illegal substances for some of the people that he particularly likes. Every now and again that leaves him with some manipulative little bastard trying to get on his good side. They make an amazing source of entertainment and rarely get a thing from him in return.
One in particular had been loitering around him for a while, being a little too nice and a little too eager to grab him another drink. It hadn't taken Parker too long to point out Ridley and plant an idea into his little 'friends' mind. Admittedly it hadn't really taken much, a simple 'see her, she's well up for it' and the guy was off grabbing some ass before Parker had even downed the shot in his glass. It was why he was now sat comfortably on the floor laughing his little ass off loudly enough to make a few people look at him weirdly. Not that he cared.
When he reappeared with a sullen expression on his face Parker just waved him off, laughter having brightened up his entire demeanour, "piss off, you're done. Get outta my sight before I toss this at you and ignite it," he held up the small shot of spirit as an emphasis, downing it moments later when his 'friend' turned tail and merged into the crowd.
Now void of his own personal waiter Parker was faced with a dilemma; getting his own drink. Which wouldn't be happening if he stayed where he was at the edge of the cavern, butt parked on the stone quite firmly. Something had to change and change quickly, so using the wall for a support he found his feet and made his way over to the drinks, close enough to Ridley to overhear Alina's advice. Grinning brightly he interrupted before the fellow Fire elemental could respond, "I'd pay good money to see him try again, she'd knock all the remaining sense outta him." Which is what he'd originally been wishing to see, but he'd take what he'd get. The night's still very young.

Gaius sipped from his beer, watching the crowd surge back and forth to the heavy bass. He had situated himself in one corner, and contented himself with watching everyone have a good time for now. When he had first gotten to the party, he had chatted with a few acquaintances and grabbed a drink. Nothing hard though. He was never one to get drunk at a party. In fact, he never drank much at all. But still, he was having a good time, so far. He sipped his drink again, scanning the mass of people from under his hood. He wasn't one to dress up really. He came in a simple pair of jeans, a Born of Osiris t-shirt and a black hoodie, and he felt like it was enough. He sipped his beer again.
The young Thunder elemental pushed off the wall, wading into the crowd. He skirted around the edge, finishing his drink before dropping the cup and plunging right in, moving with the music. He searched the crowd of faces for people he knew, and waved or nodded in their directions. He had to say, of the few parties that he bothered going to, this was one of the best. He jumped up and down along with everyone else as they chanted along with whatever lyrics were playing. He didn't pay much attention to the music. He didn't mind house music, but anything with a heavy bass was good with him. He liked actually feeling the music vibrate through the air. It felt like the buzz of electricity surging across the cave.
After a while, he made his way over to the drinks, looking for another beer. A dozen feet away, a Fire girl snapped at some guy that had grabbed her ass. Looked like the guy had one too many and got a burst of confidence, but it ran out as soon as he knew that he was messing with a hothead. He watched as the girl was accompanied by a pretty looking blonde girl in a corset and a guy that looked like he'd had a few as well. He recognized the first girl as Ridley Frey. He'd seen her in a couple of classes, but never really bothered talking to her.
"Eh, why not?" He asked himself. He made his way over to the trio, trying to get the Fire chick's attention. "Hey. Ridley, right? I'm Gaius. Just wanted to say great party, girl! You sure know how to throw 'em."

TAKE MY HAND , I'LL SHOW YOU THE WILD SIDE Savoring each mouthful of water as it washed its way down her throat, Ridley watched as people danced, idly thinking that the whole thing looked and felt pretty primal. Old, rusted oil barrels (scavenged from a junkyard outside of town) were scattered throughout the caves, being used as makeshift fire pits. Flames danced from them, warming the cave and providing much needed light. And it was the orange glow cast against the jagged walls and the people gyrating and grinding against each other to the heavy bass that was giving her the primal / cave people feeling. It made her want to dance too, to run her hands through her hair and grind up against some cute guy like some kind of wild animal in heat.
Her train of thought was interrupted by a voice and she blinked out of the drunken trance she'd been in. "Wha-?" slapped who? It took a moment to realize this chick was talking about the guy who'd grabbed her ass. Ridley was about to tell the other girl that he'd get more than a slap if he tried that crap again, but Parker popped up and pretty much beat her to it. She rolled her head to the side and nodded at the girl in the corset, confirming what Parker had said. "Hey~ Parker, are you enjoying my amazing party?" she bragged shamelessly and nodded her head at the dancing crowd, before looking back to him with a grin. The new girl was swaying to the music and had helped herself to two bottles of beer, it looked like she was enjoying the party. "I'm Ridley, by the way." she smiled at the girl, realizing that she didn't even know her name, and then pointed a finger at Parker, "This is Parker."
"And if you want to get drunk," she started, looking at the two bottles of beer gripped in the girls hands, "Then I'd start with some shots." Turning so that she was facing the long table stockpiled with alcohol, Ridley poured out three shots of vodka and then offered one to Parker and another to the Blonde. keeping one for herself she held up the glass a little, accidentally spilling liqour over fingers, "To getting wasted!" she cheered, already forgetting that she was supposed to be slowing down and not necking more shots. Wiping the back of her hand across her mouth once she'd knocked her shot back, she grinned and was placing the glass back on the table when a familiar face joined their little group.
He commented that the party was great and she gave him a wide, happy grin in return. "Ah, it was nothing." she waved her hand dramatically, as if parties like this were a normal occurrence for her. Which she guessed they were, at least where attending them was concerned. It wasn't often that she actually threw big parties herself. Small ones at her house with party friends and some of her close friends sure. But not big parties where she invited a hell of a lot of people and went all out. But when she did, she made sure she did good. She wanted people to have a great time, to wake up the next day with horrible hangovers but great memories of the night before, to talk about 'the awesome party ridley frey threw last night'. It was a nice boost for her ego.

At some point before here and her entering the room, Alina had taken off her jacket. She normally ran cold – she’d attributed that to being a wind – but it was actually…really hot in this cave. She was sure she wouldn’t even NEED the alcohol buzz to warm her up. She normally didn’t drink, but she figured if she wanted to get out of here in good spirits, she’d probably need some. Because she was noticing things. Alina wasn’t normally one to judge, but this party seemed to be like one of those Rube Goldberg machines. A contraption that had one thing leading to another to make a bigger income. She hadn’t seen the boy send the other boy over, but she had noticed he looked a little proud walking up. Alina shook her head a bit, listening as the boy spoke up. She was sure he would pay to see it. But she was sure he’d probably caused it, too. Ridley seemed to not really care – she could handle herself. Alina listened to her as she seemed to realize Alina had said something. Though she hadn’t gotten to say what she wanted to because of the over confident guy who had laughed at her beforehand. Alina shook her head a bit, ”Well then, for his sake, I hope he stays away from you.” She was nervous enough around fires sometimes – she didn’t know what in the world that guy had been thinking. He had no smarts apparently. After helping herself, Alina realized she couldn’t really open one bottle without putting the other down. It was obvious she didn’t do this very often. She smiled up at the girl, ”I’m Alina…” She was good with introductions. She normally remembered faces over names so she’d have to work on that. She nodded a bit, waving with her fingers towards Parker, mostly cutely but really, she only had her fingers to use. ”Ridley, Parker…” She repeated under her breath, trying to remember. She blinked a bit as Ridley spoke, slowly putting down the bottles and moving to pick up a shot glass instead. She nodded slowly to agree, ”To…that, yep.” She took a sip of the shot, not trying to focus on the taste, looking over at everyone before seeing another person join the group. It was a bit crowded so she didn’t get the best look at him. Just a tuft of curly hair. Alina shook her head a bit, ”But you did. It’s great. Are there parties often here?” She wasn’t quite new, but to parties, she was. She looked to the dance floor, wanting to dance but not if she was by herself, then it wasn’t any fun.[/blockquote]
