CLOTHING STYLE
Bailey happens to be a pretty eclectic guy. The fact that he has to dress up as a teacher doesn't always go so well, he'd much rather wear jeans and a t-shirt most days. Some days he tries to get away with it, and occasionally he succeeds. If there's one thing he wears every day, at least when it's cold, it's his leather jacket. It's simply comforting, more like a security blanket than anything else. He likes odd accessories and local, wearable art from the places he's been. Usually it comes in the form of shoes. He's also partial of sunglasses, even at night. It's due to having his vision corrected when he was younger, simply liking the novelty of it.

BEST MEMORY
Bailey's best memories are a widespread affair. He'd be between the day he was finally able to see without his glasses and when he finally graduated high school. The first was an interesting day, one not long after he'd graduated university. He'd always been stuck seeing behind eyeglasses and to finally be able to see everything clearly was an experience he'll never forget. The latter was the first time he ever felt free to be what he truly wanted to be.
WORST MEMORY
Not to be a bleeding heart, but Bailey still shudders at the thought of leaving his first love. There was a shining young man, his brother's best friend-- exhibit A of bad idea. Kason had been everything Bailey wanted and more. The decision to part ways came after Kason was accepted to Cornell, following in the steps necessary to be a vet. It shattered the young man, and he never quite recovered. There was a nite that they simply laid out under the stars, and maybe that night belongs in the above section... the morning after, watching him drive away, was what really hurt Bailey.
LONG-TERM GOAL Make an impact on the community... and maybe even some friends.

HISTORY
Bailey James Salem was born on a cold night. His parents joke that it was in a barn, but really, it was in rural Iowa. He was a healthy young boy, the second of three. There wasn’t much to complain about, to be perfectly honest. His parents were dairy farmers. It’s true what they say—a farmer will never be rich. A lot of the time they won’t be too happy either, but Bailey found enough happiness to go around. His mother was a kind woman of the earth element, his father wind… no big deal. Everything was relatively peaceful in the house.
Bailey hadn’t really had any interest in much of anything until starting high school at the academy. For some reason they’d thrown him into Theater Arts I and he didn’t have much of a choice but to take it. It was with theater that he fell in love with, that really brought him to life. The first role he played? Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Honestly, he had more of a flair for acting than he did with his element.
Bailey went on his first date as a freshman, but didn’t find himself in a relationship until he was too late to stop it. It was the summer after he turned sixteen when he fell, hard and fast, for his brother’s best friend. It was something that dragged him under and swallowed him up, how hard he fell. Kason was someone he could run to ad someone he could trust. It was funny, the young man being a couple years older. Bailey didn’t have to feel superior, didn’t have to feel what seemed to be a consistent bout of ‘middle child’ syndrome. Yeah, he didn’t have a problem with it.
He didn’t have a problem with Kason until he did. They had to keep a secret. Kase was one of Jake’s best friends… that wasn’t cool. Bailey managed to keep hidden from everyone, but it was stressful. When the acceptance letter came from Cornell for Kason almost a year into their relationship, Bailey found his heart shattering in his chest. Long distance relationships that involved one or the other going to and from school were one thing, but Kason being so wrapped up in it was entirely another. They knew what they would have to do, but none of them wanted to do it. It didn’t matter, because the end was inevitable. It was a so called mutual decision that broke Bailey’s heart.
He pretended to move on. He’d withdrawn into working harder and pushing himself to be the best with his element he possibly could. It took a lot of blood sweat and tears, but eventually he got the hang of it. It took until just after his birthday in his senior year, but he finally started to get it. Bailey, being an awkward turtle, went on a few dates and took a nice young lady to prom, but he honestly never let go of Kase. As he graduated and decided he wanted to teach, unsure of where. It was with this place in mind that he went through university and learned the arts involved in passing on what he loves.
Bailey has come with a willingness to share his flair for Shakespeare, though he fears he may have to give up acting forever in order to do it. It's something that scares him, but he's learning that it might be worth it after all. His first year of teaching was spent at the Academy, the very halls he walked as a student, and it’s strange to him. Still, he’s decided that he wants to keep going with it, and that he really does like helping the kids that are sort of… well… late bloomers, like he was.
