HISTORY
Joshua Penraven was a farm boy who yearned for more. When he was old enough he left home and changed his name. In changing his name he believed if no one knew his origins he could find himself a better future. Upon his journey to 'find his future' he ended up in Asia. There he met his future wife Atsuko. They didn't get along at first and actually could stand each other. Over time, numerous meetings, and even interference from their friends, the two eventually became grudging acquaintances. It wasn't until they had met again later in the United States that Atskuo and Joshua got married.
It apparently wasn't meant to be since Atsuko and Joshua divorced when Sho was just two years old. Atsuko retained custody of their sons and moved to the other side of the country away from Joshua. Because of this Sho doesn't have very many memories of his father. Or ones that he can recall don't really stick out that much. Some like nearly drowning when he was seven stick out quite clearly and he doesn't like to remember others.
Being raised in a one parent environment, feeling abandoned by his father whom he considers weak, there was naturally anger there. Some of that anger was directed at his older brother Hideaki for awhile when the older boy went to live with their father for a few years. Unable to release his anger, Sho learned to bottle it up and to get even in small ways where he could.
Sho had gone into shock when his older brother died. Unable to handle it and in denial, he had refused to go to the funeral. That caused his father to disassociate himself even further from Sho causing the boy to get into solitary past times. Because of this it was more obvious when his powers began to manifest. When Sho finally told his mother about his element, his mother moved them to Canada close to Maple Hollow.

SECRET WORD Correct
RP SAMPLESome days Adam wished he wasn't as observant as he was nor as curious. Or perhaps he actually wished that he was more observant. If he was perhaps he could have avoided what had happened. He should have known that it had been too easy. Someone that kept something like that wouldn't put it in plain site unless they were sure that no one else would be able to get to it. Or if they got it, wasn't able to read it. If his curiosity wasn't as great as it was he might have been able to say it was none of his business. Unfortunately his curious nature coupled with his uncaring towards other people's property meant disaster was just waiting for the unsuspecting boy.
Over the course of a week, the boy while sitting at a table doing his written homework caught out of the corner of his eye something odd. It hadn't been odd except that he'd happened to look over at the right moment. Except perhaps it was the wrong moment with what had happened. Someone each day had been sitting at a chair that Adam could see and would be doing something in a book. It could have been writing or doodling, the boy hadn't a clue. But each time the book was placed under the chair cushion. Or so Adam had assumed at the time. Each time, he'd waited for the owner to come back for it, but they never did.
That was just begging to be looked into. It could be someone's diary/journal, a sketchbook, a log book of some kind. Maybe it was a spy book. The temptation had just been too great to resist. So once the person had left again, Adam had gone to the chair and reached for the cushion to promptly pull his hand back out again with a mouse trap attached. From the time it snapped smartly on his first three fingers causing a startled sound to escape him. Tears had pooled in his eyes briefly until annoyance and anger replaced his short dose of pain. The stupid trap wasn't coming off!
