This was just another weekend during the start of school and it was same shift at work that Kiya seemed to have ever since she started to work at Timmies. It wasn't like she didn't like her job or anything, she actually really did but it was more the fact that she could think of a million places that she would rather be at then here working for her family. Though, when she thought about it, with everything that had gone on with her family just recently she would have quite a bit more money because of her job. Which was always a good thing and with it being the new year and everything she knew that she would be able to enjoy at lot more things with her friends before she would have to go to college. Of course she wasn't looking forward to that but it was something that she would have to deal with.
Well, that was also the last thing that she wanted to think about at this point in time, which was a bit of an understatement. To be honest she was happy to not have to think about anything and just do something to get her mind of everything that had happened recently. This was a time for her to some what relax and just wonder and things to wonder at, like serving people and trying not to work. In Kiya's head at this point in time, it seemed to just be a vicious cycle of not wanting to do anything and actually wanting to do something.
So this where are she was right now. In the middle of a 3 hour shift and trying not to do anything. So it was pretty much every other shift that she had ever done. Great. This was turning out to be something that she really didn't need at this point in time. Of course, being able to talk to regulars was always something that she really did like. It was something that she was able to look forward to because after all of the mid-afternoon type shifts that the wind girl had done recently, it was something for her to look forward. Of course then all of the people that she actually talked to where people over the age of 50 that thought all teenagers took things for granted. Okay, this is now official. If she wasn't able to talk to someone her own age soon than shit would go down and it was hit that fan pretty hard!
[[ sorry about how random this post is, i am currently writing this while half tried! that wasn't a good idea now that i look at this! ]]

School had started up again in the new year, and Chloe was already feeling a bit overwhelmed. How could she be expected to get back in the swing of academics so quickly? She could've at least used a week or two more off to relax a bit more, but alas, that wasn't happening anytime soon. At least at the moment she would have some time for herself, and what better way to spend that time than to grab some coffee and just think about things by herself. She had been confused about things-- mostly herself lately, so time to not think about any of that wouldn't be unwelcome.
As she started to walk towards the Tim Horton's entrance she dug into her purse, looking through her money. Luckily she had a decent amount, maybe she'd be able to come in a few more times this week, which would be nice, coffee was, surprisingly enough, decent enough to help her relax. She walked into the coffee shop, looking around. It had been a while since she had been in the coffee shop, maybe she'd see someone from school there? As she walked in, she couldn't tell immediately anyone she's seen in her classes. She walked up to the counter quietly, looking over the menu briefly.
Looking down from the menu she saw the girl working, and couldn't help but find herself a bit attracted to the girl. At the very least she was definitely pretty. Very pretty at that. Shaking her head very slightly to try and get rid of the obvious distraction she was facing from looking at the girl and gulped, "Um, hi. I'll, uh... I'll just take a coffee, black, please," she said, rather meek compared to her usual self. She quickly looked down to dig through her purse again, hoping that she wasn't a bright red at the moment, pulling out a ten dollar bill and handing it to her. "You can keep the change," she told her with a smile, mentally telling herself to stay calm. She was reaching for a way to try and start up a conversation, normally she was good at talking with people, but when face-to-face with a girl that looked as good as this one did, she couldn't help but be flustered. Chloe wasn't even sure why she was getting so hot and bothered over this girl she didn't know in the first place, the chances of her being a lesbian too felt too slim to her. Though, it was still nice to dream of the possibility. And just talking and becoming friends with her wouldn't hurt, would it?
