YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
A party: one of the most realistic and thrilling things of high school. There was a different one every other night and they were always more extravagant as people tried to show others up. This party was supposed to be better than the last, maybe even the best of the year. Mya wouldn't know, she didn't go to the last one so she had no idea which would be better.
Normally she wouldn't come to something like this, she would sit inside of her dorm and sleep or read or tend to her flowers. It didn't matter what was going on, she was always that nerd that never left her room unless for classes. But tonight was different. high school was a time to experiment, a time to do new things and meet new people. Now was the time to do so, so she left her dorm and headed to the house where she heard it was going to be at.
It was a seniors house, a fire student she thought. She didn't remember everything, because she had been so focused on convincing herself to go to the party in the first place. This would be a one time thing, that way she could tell her children she had officially went out somewhere and had a good time. That was, if she had kids.
A lot of people she knew were heading to this party; and a lot of people she didn't were going too. This was a year of making new friends and having fun, so she showed up at the door of the party.
Instantly she could tell this was a bad idea. She could hear the music blasting from down the street and on the front lawn there were at least seven couples making out and doing more. It was awkward walking up to the front door, which was wide open for anyone who wanted to come in.
She stepped inside, the smell of beer smashing into her nose. She didn't like it, and it made her cringe away in a sort of fear and hate. Then she looked around the house. It was weird seeing the house in such a state, one that she would never let hers go to. There were cups everywhere and people were all making out on everything and anything they could lay on. The music was overly loud, to the point where she couldn't even understand what they were saying. People were crowded through the halls, blocking her from getting into the kitchen.
She shoved through, making her way to where the food was. People bumped into her, shoving her back and she tried to get through. She didn't bother to say anything, there was no point. That was the perks of her personality, she didn't care if someone hit her or pushed her. She would be the punching bag if you wanted, she didn't necessarily want to fight back though. There was that bone inside of her that longed to fight, everyone had one and some were more profound than others. But her bone was buried deep and hidden away. Only she could feel it, and it was starting to come out a little bit more.
She made her way into the kitchen and saw that there were couples everywhere. And there, in the center of the room, was a single brunette girl. Mya couldn't remember what element she was in, so this was probably going to end in a bad way. She walked over to the girl and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Um, hello. My names Mya, Earth. What about you?" she put on her sweet voice and talked as smooth as she could, even with that pounding music int he background.

OH GRAVITY!
why can't we seem to keep it together Kennedy wasn't one for parties. Most people knew this about her, especially because of her bookworm grades and loner personality. However, her parents expected her to get out of the house every once in a while. Maybe it was because they were so used to having Rebecca ask if she could leave that it just became an automatic question as to if she was going out for the night. Whatever the matter, Kennedy stayed home for the most part. Sometimes, she would venture out and about, but she would never really do anything worthwhile. There were a few times where she had come up with some crazy things to do, none of which ended too well.
So, when her parents had heard about the "party of the year" going on at some upper-class Fire kid's house, they made sure to ask if she were attending. The word no was already forming at her lips when she reconsidered the thought. She had a lot of steam to blow off. Being able to vent it off on some drunk people, who would not remember it anyways, would be a good change. Plus, her ever running conquest of getting "dirt" on people for acts of later revenge was too tempting. If it was a big enough party that Rebecca had leaked it to their parents on accident, it had to be something worth going too.
Within the hour, she had gotten ready to be "party presentable". She even went the few extra steps to put on some make-up, though most qualified mascara and eye shadow as nothing, and straightening her hair around her face. She had pulled on a fairly simple outfit, but she made it look good. When Kennedy glanced in the mirror, she smiled. Nobody, even sober, would be able to really connect that the girl looking back was the Kennedy Beaufort they knew. Which was good. At least she could go back to being unanimous afterwards to anybody who claimed they saw her.
She flitted downstairs then, waving good bye to her parents as she started down the road. The party was about five minutes away from the house and she wasn't going to risk driving it. Drunk teenagers did not make the best drivers after all. The crisp air felt good as it stung her lungs, her breath coming out in little puffs. She probably should have dressed warmer, but the Thunder knew she would be sweating by the end of the night. It was a party, the party, which meant there would be loads of people, packed into the smallest of crevasses, gyrating against each other.
The party started to lose it's appeal but she couldn't go home now. Might as well go. Within a few minutes, she started seeing the cars lined up along the streets. She wasn't particularly early but there were spaces between the vehicles large enough for more people to park. Those that were smart must have decided that they didn't want their car smashed. Kennedy mentally cataloged the cars, trying to place the person with what they drove. It passed the time before she could start to hear the bass pulsating through the air and the lights coming from the lone house at the end of the block.
Kennedy stepped onto the grass, which was illuminated by the lights inside. Most of the people had remained in the building as she arrived and, as she pushed her way through the door, the inside was vacated enough that she could move without bumping anybody too bad. Making her way to the kitchen, she sat herself on the counter as more and more people started filtering in. The kitchen wasn't her ideal location to be, but she knew that most people didn't chose to linger in the room. It was more a grab and go, which meant she would have enough space to herself at least for a little while.
After a while of people bumping into her, mumbling and slurring apologies, somebody came up to her. Kennedy thought she recognized the blonde, but couldn't quite place her anywhere. She introduced herself as Mya, Earth. She shook her head, giving a laugh. Whoever this girl was, this must be her first go around at a party. "Nobody cares what element you are, so you can cut that part out of your speech," she called back, rolling her eyes at the other girl. She wasn't going to give a response to the girl just yet. It was much more interesting to critique her on her abilities to socialize. Even Kennedy, the one girl who didn't party, knew how to behave.

YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
Mya's mouth was slightly agape, as her eyes narrowed into slits. She didn't need someone to pop and attitude at her, this was a time to be fun and have a good time. She didn't need to be given an attitude at a party she didn't even want to be at. But she wasn't going to reply to that, nothing at all. There was no need to fan the flames and make matters worse. The last thing she needed was a fight at the moment. That could risk the two of them being expelled from them school. Depending on what this girls record was.
She bit her tongue, keeping herself from saying something she might regret. She was passive, so she wasn't understanding why she wanted to slap this girl so much at the moment. Maybe it was the thrill of her current situation. Loud music and drunk people everywhere, it gave a slight edge and buzz to everything. She felt weird, high almost. But it wasn't a bad feeling, it was more of a feeling that came with doing something good for another person. The whole rush of being at this party made her warm inside, making her crave to do it more.
But this girl, the one in front of her, was sort of putting a damper on her mood. "Sorry, didn't know if I was about to run into an enemy or a friend here. So it just came out, sorry to bother you." she mumbled the words, her voice blending into the music around her.
That music, it was not only pumping into the walls and the floor but into her very soul. She felt like dancing and having a good time, even though certain instincts told her not to. The music was pumping through her body, controlling her more and more. Mya was getting into a better and better mood even though the girl not even two feet away was sort of ruining it.
She felt reckless, she felt free, "And brighten up! This is a party, this is supposed to be fun. No need for the rudeness and being a completely horrible person. Just because I'm from the Earth element doesn't mean I'm completely pacifistic, I can be a bitch sometimes too." Mya winked, turning her back towards the girl who was acting like she owned the place.
The second the words left her mouth she felt horrible, but her mind was telling her she did the right thing. Her body was split up into sides, her heart telling her she had done wrong and shouldn't have done that but he brain was telling her she had to stick up for herself and that she had done the best thing. The complete conflict was clear on her face, and she just hoped the girl wouldn't notice.

OH GRAVITY!
why can't we seem to keep it together Kennedy wasn't trying to be rude to the girl. She was honestly just trying to help her along. You didn't introduce yourself with your element at a party. Not only were the population usually too shitfaced to really remember you anyways, but it would just cause tension. You would remain nameless, a wisp, that forbidden fruit for a later date. But, surrounded by partying and teenagers with lack of judgement, you didn't want to start an alliance riot. That was one way to get yourself arrested. Or killed. While Kennedy was here to blow off steam, she wasn't here to get picked up from downtown at the police station.
However, Mya didn't understand this concept. Especially as she mumbled an apology about saying she wanted to know if she were going to run into a friend or an enemy. Kennedy rolled her eyes, refraining from explaining to the girl the entire concept of anonymity as she might to a small child. It even seemed that she might leave her be, off to bother somebody else no doubt, when she turned back around. There were many things wrong with what the girl said to her, which set Kennedy off. She had come to blow off steam and, apparently, this Earth elemental wanted it to be on her instead of some drunk who wouldn't remember what happened.
Brighten up? First off, Kennedy was no ray of sunshine but she was trying to be nice to the girl. It wasn't something she often did, especially out side of her alliance. Whatever this girl was playing at, it wasn't very funny. Rudeness and completely horrible person? Yeah, that was strike two. You don't just go around insulting people like that. Strike three was her actions while saying that this particular blonde could be a bitch as well, winking as she turned. If there was one thing you didn't do was turn your back on a predator.
"Excuse me?!" Kennedy replied to the girl, slipping off her perch on the counter. "I don't know who you think you are, but when somebody is trying to help you, most people don't call them rude and horrible people," she snapped, her voice incredulous and challenging. "If you wanted to come here to "party" and "have fun"," Kennedy continued, putting air quotes over the words as she spoke them. "Then you don't bring in alliances."
Kennedy tried calming herself, she really did. But honestly, the girl had snapped that last thread she had been using to hold herself together and she was going to get the full wrath of her rant, whether she wanted it or not. "As soon as you bring in earth, you get a fire with a grudge, a water trying to control things, an electric threatening them, and the earth trying to stop the thunder," the brunette took a breath, shaking her head. "Girl, I hope you brought a ladder, 'cause this whole you've dug is already six feet deep."

YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
Mya's eyes went from bright and full to small little glaring slits. She went from the sweet Mya everyone knew and everyone loved to be around to a complete animal. Her eyes were no longer hers, but that of a cats, her mind wasn't even in her control, she was taken over by a raging animal. Her whole body wanted to move forward and just rip the girls eyes and hair out. But the controlling and little piece of sanity left inside of her kept her from doing so. She wasn't completely animal, not yet at least. It wouldn't take much more to set her off, she was already replying with rude comments which she never did before.
"You're excused," she said with a snap of the tongue and a quick little wink. Her eyes were still small slits, but she was smiling in a cocky sort of attitude. She was no longer completely Mya, she had no idea what she was and who was going to come out.
"I don't know who you think you are, but when somebody is trying to help you, most people don't call them rude and horrible people," the rude bitch said to her straight up. Mya wasn't in the mood anymore. She just wanted to punch her and completely gauge her eyes out. The animal was set to come out at any moment from now, which wouldn't be as pretty as some people thought.
She clicked her tongue onto the roof of her mouth a few more times, thinking up something good and rude to say to the girl, but the girl continued talking before she could even utter a single syllable. "If you wanted to come here to "party" and "have fun"," oh this girl was getting Mya mad, "Then you don't bring in alliances." She was done, her animal was coming out and she was having trouble shoving it back inside of her. She only had a matter of seconds, so she thought as fast as she could.
"Listen, babycakes," she said in a smart ass tone of voice, "First of all, I believe I tried to introduce myself to you before you decided to lecture me. Like I said ebfore, my name is Mya and I completely believe I'm her. And secondly, you didn't seem all that helpful with the horrible attitude that you decided to give me. Now I don't know who you think you are, the way you talk to me. You make me sound like a rabid animal. Yet for some reason, I'm getting the impression that you were raised by wild beasts. Who taught you to act this way? A bear?" There was only so much a single person could take before they snapped and lashed out like a whip. Mya had reached the breaking point, and she only slowed down to take a quick breath before continuing on again.
"Now who's to say I came here to have fun? Last time I checked, the reason I was here was because I needed the experience. But clearly you weren't planning on having fun either. You sit there mopping around like a little dog, with her tail between her legs. You act like the queen of the place, well honey I must say you aren't. You're just another little bitch who thinks they know anything. Don't tell me how to live my life and I wont tell you how to live yours." she breathed really deep, the run on sentence getting the best of her. She was gritting her teeth and rubbing them back and forth. This girl was really turning her into a small piece of nothing. She deserved everything she had coming towards her.
And then the girl had the nerve to continue on! "As soon as you bring in earth, you get a fire with a grudge, a water trying to control things, an electric threatening them, and the earth trying to stop the thunder,"
"And when you talk to a mean girl at a party, trying to be nice, you get an attitude and whole lecture. Like I said honey, just shut your mouth before I shut it for you." She had never talked that way to another person before. Maybe it was the music in the background, pumping her on and making her a new person. She didn't know the reason, but she was sort of happy she was finally sticking up for herself.
The last comment she made wasn't even worth taking a breath on. Mya just gave a light laugh and crossed her arms. Not only did she cross her arms, but she jumped onto the counter top and held her arms crossed there. This girl didn't deserve her attention, she didn't even deserve the air she was breathing.

OH GRAVITY!
why can't we seem to keep it together Now, Kennedy wasn't one to worked up over nothing. Obviously, she had set perimeters for what she would let pass and what she would take action upon. She wasn't a blind animal, she was cold and calculating. Like a lion stalking her prey, Kennedy took quiet steps, creeping closer as the grass hardly made a sound. Then, she she had factored in all possible ways of escape, obstacles that one might encounter, she would pounce. However, unless the creature was careless, the lion might not even lay sights on them. They might even let herds move past them until that one creature caught their attention, which set them in motion.
It was interesting, how easily high school could be compared to the wilderness. Wasn't it in that movie, Mean Girls?, that they compared it to the plains of Africa? It couldn't have been more fitting, as they girl continued to take to her unkindly. Sure, Kennedy could have gone about talking to the girl with a better tone. But she was the one who brought it on herself. She must not have been able to connect the fact that Kennedy was obviously not on her side of the alliance. Either that, or she was too stupid to care. Which made Kennedy feel like she had a bit of an advantage.
There were many things wrong with how Mya was behaving. Maybe the girl had drank a bit too much already. Especially because this petite and gently Earth girl was trying to stand up to a cold meticulous Thunder. While she had the Elemental advantage, Kennedy had been in situations like this more than she predicted the blonde had. Kennedy straightened as the girl ranted back, taking deep breaths afterwards. She obviously was short-spoken as well, which made her give a confident smirk. Everything thing the Earth did was just giving her more and more reason to snap.
The girl threatened her, saying that she should shut her mouth before it was shut for her, sitting on the counter and folding her legs like the priss that she was. Kennedy took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. She couldn't afford to explode any lights again, especially because this wasn't a reasonable place to have things go exploding. In fact, this was probably the worst place for her to lose her temper. So much electricity surrounding her, Kenny could actually seriously injure somebody.
Maybe it was this thought that simply left her clenching her fists with her teeth gritted, breathing sharply through her nose and trying to regulate her heart rate. She could practically hear the buzzing of the lights going from a solid B to almost a C sharp. It was a subtle change, but enough to set her on edge. If she bent the electricity around her into the more direct area, not only would she kill the lights in the further reaches of the house, but the lights in the kitchen would probably explode all over the drunken party guests.
That made a fire hazard and, while they had water students, she doubted enough were completely old enough to generate what they would need to put out a fire. Not only that, but she would most likely be placed on the charges. Instead, she gave the girl a challenging glare. If she swung first, despite the antagonizing that was going down on the Thunder's part, then she could play it off as self-defense. That would leave Mya with the problem and she would just get a slap on wrist for letting her powers get out of hand. However, the girl was new to the "battle" scene, and wouldn't know of this. Which left her back in the advantage, especially because they were inside. Now, she just had to wait for the other girl.

YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
Mya smirked and winked one last time, noticing the girl was clenching her fists and gritting her teeth back and forth. She hadn't replied, simply telling her that Mya had "won". She was new to this fight scene, yes, but she knew how to handle herself well. She had watched her father fight, she had watched him for hours on end trying tom explain to her how things worked and what to do if a situation had occurred. Her father had wanted her to be ready for anything that life would throw at her. Maybe today wasn't the day she was going to have to put her skills to use. Thank god, she was sort of scared of her first fight. What if she beat her to death? Or hurt her enough to kill her. There were many different things that could go wrong.
But she didn't bother wasting her time with this girl, all that was important was getting out of this damned house now. She was beginning to get claustrophobic as more and more people surged into the kitchen. She could feel her pulse raise, moving the blood through her body as a river moves everything through it's body. She had to get out of here before she fainted. That was something that she had realized recently, she didn't like tight spaces no matter where and what. She felt her heart quicken, broke out in a sweat, and got the nervous shakes. She just couldn't handle it.
"Obviously this conversation is over. See you around school, I guess," she got up off the table and made her way towards the door. As she walked, she felt her feet go unstable beneath her. She was walking like a drunk person, weaving through the people as best as she could. The amount of people around her just wasn't even funny, she felt sick to her stomach. The presence of her claustrophobia was taking over her anger. She could feel the thoughts of that girl melting away in her mind: she was useless to Mya now. All that mattered was getting out of the house.
Fresh air hit her face as she stepped outside. Getting outside was like seeing a new day in the eyes of another person; it was a whole new outlook and it brightened her mood up just a little bit at a time. She felt better now that she was outside, more freedom than she was cramped up inside. She could feel the breath go from her own mouth into the dying flowers around her, making them perk up just a slight bit and become more flushed in color. Not only was every breath relieving to her, but to the flowers and plants around her. She healed each and every one of them with a new breath until the entire yard was completely anew. The once dead grass was a bright green, the wilting flowers now stood perfectly straight, and they all looked better than they ever had.
Mya had no idea how she had managed to do this, seeing as she was only just learning to manifest her powers into something more. Maybe it was all that pent up anger that was inside of her, it was starting to flow out of her into something more. She could still feel the pent up distaste for that girl back in there, she didn't deserve the effort though. It was time to become nice little Mya again. But she didn't want to go home, not yet. She would disappointing her father yet again with her not being cool enough for school. She figured she'd wait another hour or two, just chilling on the front steps. So she sat down and allowed herself to wait a little while.

OH GRAVITY!
why can't we seem to keep it together The last thing Kennedy had been expecting was for the girl to turn tail and leave, saying that the conversation was over and that she would see her at school. Part of the Thunder wanted to go after the girl, but she knew it wouldn't get her too far. Not to mention the Beaufort was not a Fire, and therefore she wasn't not that quick to snap and lash out once somebody walked away. She would plan a revenge, a good one at that.
Kennedy, however, wasn't done with the party. While the closeness of the other people bothered her, she wasn't too worried about it. She had been in these situations before and she knew how to clear some space if she needed too. Glancing at the clock, she figured she'd probably end up staying at least another hour at the party. She had refrained from taking anything to drink, not wanting to get caught walking home staggering. Taking her perch back on her counter, people continued to filter through the kitchen, some stopping and talking to her about how they weren't expecting to see her there.
It was interesting to her, though, that even some of the drunk guys wouldn't even give her a second glance. She figured it was understandable though. The Thunder didn't have her boobs half hanging out of her shirt, wasn't grabbing onto anything with a dick she saw. The lives of teenagers was something that always sort of intrigued her. How girls always wanted "good guys", complained about always getting with douche bags, but ended up shitfaced and hooking up with anything that could possibly please them for a night. Then they would wake up to an empty bed and wonder why guys were such jerks.
Kennedy glanced at the clock again, satisfied with the amount of time she had burned. Her parents would probably be enthused she'd stayed out just past midnight. So long as she didn't make it a habit, of course. So, the young Thunder picked herself off the counter and made her way through the slightly less crowded throng of people. The music still pumped through the speakers, loud and proud. She doubted that the neighbors were getting any sleep and the cops would be called soon. Whatever the matter, she honestly didn't mind what was going on between the groups of people.
However, as she pushed her way through the front door, she nearly tripped on a figure sitting on the steps. Apparently, the girl Mya hadn't wanted to leave the party just yet and had succumbed to sitting on the front steps. She shook her head, making to move around the girl, hoping to be able to get out of there before she made too much of a ruckus.

Mya post YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
Mya was sick of this girl. Not only had she just insulted her to a maximum, but she had the nerve to almost trip over her even though she was clearly out of the way. Or maybe she wasn't and this music was just getting to her. Yes, the music was still too loud even though it was past midnight and the neighbors were probably angry by now. How anyone could sleep around this was begin her. She could barely think, let alone sleep and hold a peaceful dream.
She gave the girl a dirty look of loathing. They were complete enemies and just by the look anyone could tell that. Mya hated her and there was nothing that the girl could do to make it better between them.
She contemplated giving up her pacifist ways and becoming an enraged monster willing to fight and hurt her. She would never in the real world, but maybe here at this party she could turn into something more. Over the course of these school years she was becoming more and more less like the girl she knew from before she discovered her abilities. She had been so quiet, so easy to manipulate. And now she was blossoming, much like a flower, into a young woman that could stand up for herself and become a leader in most situations. Not that the situation had occurred yet where she had to stand up for herself.
Mya slugged a punch right for where the girls mouth should have been. It was dark enough that she couldn't see, but she figured that was where the mouth had been. She made contact with full on skin, she felt something crack. Hr hand hurt now, and she realized it was her own knuckles that had cracked against the girls face. That was a hard ass punch to make her own knuckles crack and to make the sound it made.
Oh the sound it made! It was horrifying to her virgin ears. She had never heard such as skin striking skin like that. It was horrible and made her cringe away in fear of everything she hated the world at times, but times e these called for actions like the one she just took. No longer was she a virgin to the fight, she had just entered her own little hell with what was to come.

OH GRAVITY!
why can't we seem to keep it together Kennedy hadn't meant to almost trip over the Earth. That's just what happened when you parked your butt right in the middle of the walkway. It was dark, Kennedy herself could hardly see. She didn't want to pick another fight with the girl, she would have been happy to just up and leave the location. That was how things worked, right? If you didn't want to fight somebody, didn't want to get to know them, you left. You didn't bother allowing them to effect you at all. Brush them off, keep walking, keep your head high. That was how you could get rid of all your problems, right? Those were the calculations in her head at least.
Kenny earned a dirty glare from the girl. She could handle that. Mya's glares wouldn't really affect the Thunder. Kennedy had dealt with a lot more than just looks from people and she could definitely handle the amateur Mya. She started her motion around the girl, diverting her gaze from the girls eyes as if she didn't give a damn about what she did. However, the Earth seemed not too want her to just leave as she got to her feet. Maybe she was going to try her hand at yelling again. It had actually been somewhat entertaining. Something that she wouldn't mind visiting again. Kennedy Beaufort, the girl who made the soft and "wonderful" Mya Kirkland snap.
What Kennedy hadn't truly been expecting was the girl to throw a punch. It was a good punch, little to no form, which was why the crack that resounded was from the girls hand and not her jaw. Needless to say, the blow hurt but it wasn't the worse that she had endured. Her dad was a self-defense instructor, she knew how to fight back if she needed too. It was funny in its own way, that Mya seemed to think that she could take on the Beaufort. In fact, it was almost outright hilarious. There were a lot of guys who didn't want to take anything up with her, and for good reason. The only thing this girl had going for her was an Elemental advantage. Something that wasn't needed in a hand-to-hand battle.
Kennedy couldn't help it, she cracked her neck and gave a slow smile towards the girl. "Is that the best you can do?" she challenged, her face almost completely innocent if not for the fire in her eyes and the curve in her smirk. Self-defense. The cops, should they be called, could not get her in any sort of trouble as she was protecting herself. Any damage was provoked and needed because she was being threatened. There were rules, of course, to beating the shit out of people. Her father had taught her as much. If she was going to take action, she was going to take it well.
Kennedy rolled up onto the balls of her feet, her fists taking up a defensive sort of position covering her face. Bouncing just slightly, she took a side stance towards Mya before sending a roundhouse kick to her upper arm. It wasn't powerful enough to break anything, but enough that it would probably bruise the next day. Enough to show the Earth that she meant business and she should back down before she was forced to actually really injure the girl.

YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
Her dad being a pacifist and her mom gone for so long she had never really gotten the chance to train in self defense or anything that had to do with fighting. He mom was a thunder, so it was expected that Mya would have a sort of spark in her. But it had never really jump started till those few moments ago. She had actually hit someone and it had turned out all right. She didn't hurt the girl, that was a solid fact by the way the girl now stood: poised to attack. Like a snake ready to bite someone.
If this all took a turn for the worse it would be bad. She couldn't play it off as anything because she had instigated the fight. She was literally locked into the problem now as she took a defiant step back onto the solid grass. SMACK! something collided with her arm so fast she wasn't entirely sure what it was at first. It dawned on her that it was the girls foot, coming from her stance. No longer was it a hit and run, but an actual fight where the girl wasn't afraid to hit back. Well this had turned for the worse.
The feeling in her right arm was completely lost. She could lift it and move it, but it caused a deep sort of pain. That kick had jarred her bones and made her insides quiver. She felt funny, almost like a piece of jello on a platter ready to be served. She shook her arm out, causing the pain to return, but it help to alleviate it also. The fun was about to begin.
This fight wasn't like the ones you see in real high schools. Where the girl grabs into the others hair and just pulls until the other is on the ground. Oh no, this was a fight of hands and fists and then the elements. Yes, she was going onto use her element as a defense now. Hr last defense.
When she had attacked she figured that the girl wouldn't dare hit her back, but she was wrong. Now Mya was going to have her turn to hit again. Her punch hadn't done much damage, but lets see how her plants were going to do against the she-bitch.
Mya felt the power inside of her come boiling over. She felt like a whole new person, completely defiant of the old Mya. She called upon her stores of energy she had been saving from before and used it to create a vine from the ground. It snuck its way up towards where the girl stood, on the porch. It would momentarily distract her and wind its way up her leg and onto her body. Maybe that would hold her back.
Mya could feel it grow as it moved more and more. She was putting almost all of her focus into making it seem like she was just standing there, she'll shocked that she had been hurt. It seemed to be working, neither Mya nor the other girl were making a move. It might have been the only chance to entrap her in the vine.
Mya could see the vines top peeking over the cement. It was climbing, right for where the girl stood in her defensive position. It was then that she began to wonder what element this girl was. She hadn't mentioned it before during her little bitch out, so it was still a mystery to her. If she was a fire, then they had a problem. But a thunder would be perfect. She was weak against the earth element. She would be at a disadvantage, and Mya on top.

OH GRAVITY!
why can't we seem to keep it together Kennedy was confident that she could take on everybody and anybody that she would possibly need to should it be a battle of physical, hand-to-hand combat. Luckily, this girl held firm to the stereotype of the Earth elementals. She was probably internally wondering what possessed her to punch somebody in the first place. Kennedy gave a grin and an arch of her brow at the girl, that was just how she was going to play this game. If the girl described her as a snake, that's exactly what she would be. Coiled and ready to strike.
She took the girl by surprise with the kick. Kennedy could tell as she sort of stepped away, how the arm sort of just flopped, that she gave the girl a dead arm. But still, she seemed like she would continue to fight. Kennedy rolled her weight to her back foot, giving a scoffing laugh and a shake of her head. "C'mon, don't tell me you think you can take more of this," she almost taunted, watching the girl evening as she shifted her weight back to her front foot.
The girl had managed to get herself into a hole. She had to have something up her sleeve, something that she felt would hold her up in this battle. Kennedy was able to summon small amounts of electricity from nothing, but she did have a huge house with so much charge running through it she would have no troubles getting enough to combat the girl. But they were also outside, where there was a lot of earth to be found. The girl could throw rocks at her for all she knew. Maybe that's what she was planning to do, though it wouldn't really be that good of an idea on her part.
It was in that moment, glancing at the shell-shocked girl, that she decided to look down at the ground and make sure she wasn't going to throw anything at her. In fact, it was good she did. A vine had started its way towards her and Kennedy rolled her eyes and laughed. With hardly a twitch of her foot, she smashed the vine as it got close enough, grinding it into the concrete. It was somewhat satisfying as she turned back towards the girl, the slow curve of her smile growing on her face.
"Listen. Mya," Kennedy said easily, her face innocent and sincere. "I don't want to hurt you. Now," the Thunder continued, watching her evenly. "You can leave me be, let me go home, and we can pretend this never happened," she glanced towards the house, rolling her eyes before looking back at Mya. "Or, you can continue this little game and get something broken. It's your choice," Kenny finished, watching the girl evenly. By laws of combat, Mya should not attack until Kennedy did. However, Kenny had chosen to pass her turn in a chance to compromise. She wasn't going to break the girl if she didn't need too.

YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
Mya snarled a bit, a low growl coming from deep within. Where that had come from she had no idea, but she did know it was a sort of warning. Never would she give up, especially against this girl right here. She was such a little bitch that she needed to be put into her place by someone who was smaller than her. Of course Mya knew she wasn't going to do a lot of damage to her: she knew karate and how to fight with electricity. But little did she know Mya had tricks up here sleeves as well.
All through this winter break she had been practicing more and more with her abilities to control plants and make them do as she pleased. The effect of plants on humans could range anywhere from light and fluffy to severe and catastrophic. She had seen some Earth elementalists use their abilities to shake entire cities at once. No longer was Earth going to be brought down by puny people who knew nothing. She was done being a pacifist. Now she was Mya, the warrior.
A plan began to formulate inside of her bright head. She had an idea on how to get the upper hand over her. It would be sneaky, a sort of cheat, but it would work. It would prove that she was more than just the dirt she walked on. She wasn't dirt, she was a flower in bloom, a vine ready to grab hold, and a weed taking route. She was the plants, the plants were her.
Since she was in the grass now she didn't have a problem with the plant growth and keeping it secretive. It could form fit behind her and poof, there it was ready to attack. Despite her ready set of mind, the words of the girl rang through her head as she stood there. "Listen. Mya," the girl said, "I don't want to hurt you. Now," she was a bad lier, of course she wanted to hurt innocent Mya, "You can leave me be, let me go home, and we can pretend this never happened," there was no leaving be anymore, this was a fight that she couldn't back out of. "Or, you can continue this little game and get something broken. It's your choice."
The words still rang through her head as she answered the snide remarks. "There is no backing down, not after everything that just happened. Oh, no, this fight won't be over until I feel it's time to be,"mher voice was lower, deeper than normal. Almost like she was growling rather than talking, "I'd rather get two broken arms and a broken leg rather than admit defeat from a petty bitch like you."
She had nothing more to say, but she had a lot more to do. She could feel the vine growing up her two legs, each one mimicking the way her body worked. Once they reacher her spine they intertwined into a single, thicker, vine. At the arms they spread apart again, into two long whips that reached the floor when Mya put her arms at face level. No longer was she weapon less, she and two whips on her arms and a big support on her feet and back, ready to trip the girl if she came close enough.
SNAP! She cracked her newly made whip into the air, making a loud sound as it cracked, not hitting any mark. It was a warning., not meant to hurt someone. It was telling the girl to back off before she had to take action. But now she couldn't wait anymore, she had to be the first one to attack or else she might get hurt one.
She held onto the whip at her hand, giving it more of a grip on her body. The back was sticking to her clothing perfectly, like the whip was made out of her. Or she was made of the whip itself. She didn't know the complications of it, but she took action. She crack it, aiming for where the girls face was. Did she meet her arm? She couldn't tell for sure, but she really hoped she did.

OH GRAVITY!
why can't we seem to keep it together Kennedy wasn't really worried, but she was a bit concerned for the girl. She was turning feral. Maybe she had been bitten by a raccoon and contracted rabies. Most sane people didn't growl at people, even while fighting. Growling was something that animals did and, while the human race was a species of animal, they tended to have more class and dignity than growling and screeching like banshees. It was really quite embarrassing and Kenny was glad that anybody around them was probably drunk of their ass and didn't hear it. Because it was really hard to get out of labels such as "crazy animal".
While Mya had been practicing with her element over break, Kennedy had occupied her time with reading and common exercise. Her endurance was higher than most, which would prove to serve her well shortly. The fact she had also went with Hunter and Caleb out and about got her introduced to another thing that Mya would have never seen before. She was new to the party scene, the Earth girl was. However, it wasn't entirely new to Kennedy. Nor was fighting with the Elemental disadvantage. And while Mya had a lot to draw from for this battle, Kennedy felt she had the strategy enough that would make the girl back down.
The girl didn't take kindly to her offer. It was evident in her face, the tone of her voice as she shot down everything that Kennedy offered. Fine, she would leave her with two broken arms and a broken leg. Maybe a rib or two. When the Thunder was done with her, she would have wished she never decided to slip out of the Earth stereotype. While she did have the Elemental advantage, a good shock would still do her well. Put her back in her place. Because, honestly, Kennedy wasn't in the mood for any bullshit.
Especially when that bullshit decided to grow whips as arms. Goddammit. This girl really didn't know what was good for her. She cracked the whip like some sort of circus freak and Kennedy narrowed her eyes. She was going to definitely hit her with that, she needed to be ready when she did. She wasn't going to lose and eye or get a tooth knocked out today. Kenny rocked on her feet for second, watching the girls arm to see when she would be attacking. She brought up her arm and cracked it again, this time the vine coming up and lashing at her face.
Kennedy feinted to the side, but she wasn't quick enough. I mean, who could really be quick enough to dodge the speed of sound? The whip embedded itself in her cheek, instantly causing blood to well up on her face. It stung, but she tried not to let the pain show on her face. The girl was going to pay, Kennedy didn't care how much blood came to the surface from those whips, the girl was leaving with something broken. She should have broke her arm when she had the chance, should have bashed her skull in. Kennedy readied herself, when she stopped her motion.
Her eyes widened, but she didn't really have a lot of time to look at the girls reaction. While Mya would think that Kenny was running from the fight, as the Thunder turned tail and started at a brisk jog away from the house. She wouldn't leave this battle should she not seen what she did. Kenny hoped the girl wouldn't understand, think she scared her off, and would happily remain at the house. Because at the end of the road were the flashing colors of the cops.
And Kennedy was no where to be seen. It was like she was never there...

Mya post YOU GOT ME HIGH you got me low
Blood. Mya had drawn blood from the girls face where the whip had met. She could see it on the vine as it recoiled back to her side, right where it could be used again if need be. She wasn't ready to give up, not just yet. She was going to stick it out until the last possible second, or when she was unconscious. Either way, she wasn't going down without a proper fight within this fight. She was going to give her best efforts to putting this girls ego down a whole lot. Mya was going to do that and saved the girl from this witch.
She could see the party inside the house, inside the windows and the open door. Nobody was paying any attention to the two of them. It was a waste of time to look at them when they were odious better things. Like getting drunk and having sex. Oh, those were so pleasing. She rolled her eyes at the thought of sex, it disgusted her. There was no need for that type of love unless you were committed to the person for life through marriage.
She knew she would be called old fashioned for the way she thought about sex. But honestly who cared? It was her thoughts and not those of another's. she wanted to save herself for that one man that would keep her safe until the day she died. That was the way she was, and people could deal with it for all she cared.
The girl wasn't going to strike again, so it was time for her to lash out yet again. But it was weird the way she was looking off into the distance. Much like a dear caught in the headlights and didn't know what to do next. But the girl seemingly did know what to do. She turned on her heels and ran off into e darkness, out of sight. It was trance the way she moved away; in a sort of frenzy to get away.
If Mya had been to other parties, ones that had ended like this one then she would have known what to do. But sadly she had never been to many parties and was new to the scene. She was caught in the headlights with no way out. She had been using her ability in a fight, and was about to be caught in the act too. The vines quickly receded down her arms and turned back into a piece of grass. The cops were there at that moments, and everyone else was hightailing it out of the area.
The police officer stepped out of his car and grabbed ahold of the nearest person, which happened to sadly be Mya. She couldn't get away now, it was too late for sure now. She as stuck here to take the fall for everyone else's actions.
The police took her away and locked her up for the night until her father came to get her in the morning. But that was the worst night of her life, and she would never forget the horrible girl who she still didn't know the name of.
