And So It Begins (Charlotte)

Takeru wouldn't lie. He was nervous. He hadn't been this nervous in, well, ever. Not even dancing made him this nervous.This was a first for Takeru. Why was he nervous? It was because of a girl. Not just any girl, a girl that he would be going on a date with. This was a first for Takeru. His first date. The fact that he had bucked up the courage to ask this girl out was amazing for even Takeru. That had been hard enough but this was really the hard part. Trying to not act like a complete idiot. He really didn't want to screw this up. Takeru had to chill. Over-thinking would only make things work. He had to chill. First he had to finish getting ready. He checked his clock. He was on schedule. Good start.

When he was all dressed he made sure he had everything he'd need. He grabbed his phone and keys. He was set. He walked out of his room in the living room. His brother was out which was a good thing for Takeru. The last thing he'd want is to deal with his brother right now. Okay. He grabbed a light coat because it was slightly chilly outside at the moment and it would probably get colder as the night wore on. He checked his wristwatch. Still on schedule. He sighed in relief. If he just remained calm he may not screw tonight up, or at least avoid making look like a complete idiot. He took a another deep breath, picked up something from the table and was out the door. He locked up and was on his way towards the stairs. His date lived in the same apartment complex as he and since the complex was located in town it would be an easy walk towards there destination. As he walked down the stairs he thought about his date with a smile. Of course he had been surprised that she had accepted, someone as beautiful and fun as her but of course was overjoyed when she did. It had been the first time that Takeru had gained the courage to ask a girl out and it had ended in success.

The moment of truth. He walked up the door and stood for a moment. This was it. He took in another deep breath. With a single rose in hand he knocked on the door. He worked on calming his nerves as he wait. And this was how his date with Charlotte began

Charlotte wasn’t nervous; at least she didn’t think that she was. Okay, so she was nervous. SO nervous that she had gotten up at 6 o’clock in the morning because she couldn’t sleep she was so nervous. She had spent all day sitting in her bed with her hair in a ponytail on the top of her head because she didn’t want to have to deal with it before she really had. The one thing that she really didn’t need was to not make a good impression on the date that she was going on tonight. She had liked this guy for quite a while, well ever since he had started to talk to her once she had started college at the academy. Then again, he was also one of the first people to talk to her when she had started as well. It wasn’t until an hour before TK was due to pick her up that she realised that she really needed to get ready for this first date of hers!

Tumblr was still important but she really wanted to make a good impression on the boy that was going to be knocking on her door to take her on a date and again, she was defiantly nervous. I don’t know how many times she had said this in her head because it was the only thing that she could think have at the moment! She knew that she had to get read but she also knew that she really didn’t want to stuff this up, it wasn’t every day that you had a date with a person that you have liked for quite a while! Hair was also something that she was quite unsure about, well considering she was unsure about most things! Nervous, remember!

After getting ready it was more of the waiting game, waiting to hear her door bell ring because that was just what she had to wait for. It was the moment that she had been waiting for. To pass the time she decided to just back the little bag that her mother had a few weeks earlier because they hadn’t seen each other in a few months due to college. “Phone, check. Lip gloss, check. Purse, check. Keys, Check. I think I might be ready.” That statement couldn’t have come any sooner as it just happened to be the moment that she had heard a knock on the door. This was the moment of truth, the moment that her life would probably change forever. First dates where always something that you would remember and hopefully this would be a good one! Opening the door to see her TK was one of the moments that she would probably never forget, so of course the first thing that she had to say was , “Hey Tee.”

A thousand thoughts ran through his head as he waited for Charlotte. He thought about when they had first met. It had been in one of his dance classes. She was a freshman and thus one of the newbies to the class. They had been partnered up and had instantly hit it off. Charlotte wasn't a dance major like Takeru. She was actually studying theatre as well as English. It hadn't taken long for the two to become friends nor for Takeru to find himself becoming attracted to her and beginning to like her. Talking with Charlotte felt very natural and he just loved spending time with her. Of course Takeru being who he was could never bring himself to ask her out. He knew she didn't have a boyfriend but he was just to shy about it. That is until the summer holiday approached. It was the final week before the summer break when Takeru bulked up the courage to ask Charlotte out and to his surprise and excitement she had accepted.

Now here he was, standing in front of Charlotte's apartment door a bit of a nervous wreck with a flower in his hand. Although he was nervous he couldn't be more excited. He didn't think he'd expect his first date ever to be this nerve wracking, then again this wasn't just any girl for him. It was a girl that he had strong feelings for and he really really didn't want to mess things up. He took another deep breath as he put on a brave face as the door opened. There she stood. He didn't think she had ever looked so beautiful. He smiled. "Hi Charlotte." he said as he looked at her dreamily. He snapped out of it when he remembered the gift he had for her. He held up the rose bud. "This is for you." he said. Then before her eyes the rose bud began to bloom until the rose was in full bloom. One of the benefits of being an earth elemental. He could do things like that. They were great tricks for impressing a girl. Of course he could only hoped that she liked it. "I got us tickets to the Avengers movie. " In learning what Charlotte like he had learned that they both liked superheroes which made picking a movie rather easy. "I thought if you'd like we could grab some ice cream before the movie."

Attention was something that Charlotte really didn’t get to often, mainly when she was in high school at the academy. During her final year most of her time was spent trying to get the best grades possible to be able to get into het theatre course at the academy college. She really hadn’t gained or wanted any male attention during that point in her life and it was also something that had look past during the start of her college career, well until she had met Takeru that is. Dance was one of those subjects that she chose to do within her college course during her first year and she really didn’t expect to meet a guy in the class, which was for sure. She had to admit that the moment that he had asked her out had been one that she wouldn’t forget any time soon, that was for sure. They had been such good friends up until that particular point and she couldn’t think of any other way to move forward with their current relationship. She never really knew who to tell about what had happened but she knew that she would tell someone eventually.

Once she had seen that Takeru was just as nervous as her she had just a little sigh of relief, which was for sure. It was kind of nice to know that he was just a little nervous about their first date together. It was his smile that had gotten her in the end, and right now to be completely honest. Just to see him smile when he had seen her made her blush just that little bit, she could have sworn that his smile was what drew her in the first place. Once the rose was placed in her hands Charlotte looked at the way that he was able to make it bloom right in front of her eyes, she smile back and him and said, “Thank you!” It wasn’t like it was an empty comment or anything, it was more the fact that she was overjoyed to have someone do that for her when she was as nervous as she was. Avengers. That was one of the things that the pair had in common. Their love for superheros on general and as soon she he had told her that they were going to see Avengers, Charlotte had to keep herself from running and jumping into his arms! “You know what, ice cream sound lovely night now! Shall we go?” It was an invitation for her first date with this guy and for here on in she was going to be so excited!

Nervous was an understatement. He was beyond nervous at this point. He was a complete wreck. At least he was inside. He was doing his best job to at least appear a bit calm. He knew that he would look nervous but at least he didn't want to give away exactly how nervous he was and his nerves hadn't started today. His nerves had been implanted the moment he had asked Charlotte out and they only exploded even more when she had yes because a part of him had expected her to reject his offer. They had been friends for so long at that point that perhaps that was all they were meant to be and there he would be making things awkward by bringing up the idea of a date. He didn't want to loose her friendship over that. Of course that had been how he felt before she had said yes. When she did accept his date he could have died happy.

Now here they were. Charlotte standing at her doorway and Takeru out in the hall. He was completely memorized by her. Her pretty eyes and her beautiful smile. It had been the smile that had completely done him in and drawn him to her. She had the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. Just looking at her smile now at his little trick with the flower made him melt. He was happy that she had enjoyed it. The beauty of the flower though was nothing compared to Charlotte herself. "May I?" he asked softly as he gently took the flower from Charlotte. The stem was long enough that he could tuck the flower behind Charlotte's ear. He had never felt this way about anyone before and he knew that it was because Charlotte was special. He'd do that little flower trick all the time if it made her smile and he knew that watching the Avengers was just an added bonus. He had been very pleased when he had learned that they share a common interest in superheroes. That wasn't a trait that you found all the time in girls. He also believed that Charlotte would get along very well with his best friend because of it.

Ice cream it was. "Your wish is my command my lady." he said gentle voice. He stuck out his arm for her to take before they started walking out of the complex. If there was anything else that he had learned from his mother besides dancing was to be a perfect gentleman with the ladies otherwise he'd knew he'd earn a whack from his mom which was not something he looked forward to. So yeah, maybe the whole thing was a bit old fashion but sometimes old fashion worked for people and right now he knew that it was suitable. Now Takeru figured that while they walked to the ice cream parlour he should try to make small talk as to relieve his nerves, although if he was honest he was starting to feel more relaxed the longer he was with Charlotte.

It was getting better that was for sure. At least she was starting to feel much better about everything that was currently happening and she was also starting to realize what was going to happen during the rest of the night. She was on a date with the guy that she had had a crush on for who know how long it was finally happening! It was calming her down just a little to know that it her TK that she was going on date with and that was always something, that was for sure. Of course one of the only things that were currently going through her mind was the first time that they had actually hung out with each other. It was around the time that Charlotte had gotten her apartment and it just happened to be in the same complex as Takeru. It was just that they had seen each other in the elevator and stuff had just happened. Next thing she knew he was helping her unpack the kitchen and they were just talking. It was something that she really hadn’t seen happening in a million years, mainly because she had just starting liking him around the time that this meeting had happened and it was one of the things that had really made her start liking him. Well, it was also the fact that he was good looking and funny but that meeting. Half the time they just sat there laughing and enjoying each other’s company and it was just nice.

And this is what had happened and this was also why Takeru was currently standing at her door being the gentlemen that he was and Charlotte loved it. “You may.” She said as a reply while moving the newly bloomed flower toward the college earth man. Once he had placed the flower that was once in her own shaking hands around her ear Charlotte knew that she was blushing like anything. It was defiantly that she hadn’t been used to, though she really hadn’t had too many dates in her time, let alone a earth that was the most amazing person that she had really known. When started thinking about she really didn’t know too many earth people, Takeru was probably one of the only ones that she currently knew on a first name basis, though she really hadn’t spent too much time gaining new friends once she had been placed into her new college classes. It wasn’t high up on her list but she knew that she was starting to come out of her shell a little to her people that where in higher classes than her own and was almost at that point where she was up to getting some new friends to be able to have around the house, which was feeling more and more empty by the day but she wasn’t going to tell anyone that!

Ice Cream was that one thing that she would be able to eat as much as she could until she just couldn’t eat any more. Again, that was also probably something she wouldn’t tell anyone unless they were go into her freezer and actually see the amount of ice cream that she had stored in there. It was her dirty little secret. Once he had placed his arm out for her Charlotte gladly accepted it and linked her own arm with his while saying, “OH thank you lovely.” For some reason it was something that she had been calling everyone lately and she really didn’t know why she did it, it was just something that she had gotten used to over the past couple of months. Everything had changed for the wind girl and for some reason she was glad that it was. If it wasn’t for her actually going to her dance class then she wouldn’t have met the guy that she was currently with and she defiantly wouldn’t be feeling the way that she was, which was for sure.

At this point of their date, even though they had only just left the apartment complex, she just began to think about things that they could talk about. It was something that came really easy to her when she was around Takeru and it was also something that she was really thankful for. She was able to talk about the first thing that came to her mind and they would be able to have a good conversation about it. At this point is what was going to happen on the date they were currently on, or what was actually going to happen later on the date, the AVENGERS! The pair had a common love of superheros and it was something that they had had many conversations on in the past but not recently, unfortunately. “So Tee,” Well, it was always awkward to be the first to talk, “What are you looking forward to in the movie?” It was something that was big interest of hers because of all the different ways that one tale could be told. It was something that had always interested her and as soon as she found out that Takeru was the same she really knew that the two of them where going to get along really well.

Honestly, the last thing he had expected was to find Charlotte moving into the same complex that he lived in. To bump into her in the elevator had been a complete coincidence and he was more than happy to help her out. It meant spending time with her which he wouldn't pass up and they had had a lot of fun unpacking her things and just talking, enjoying each other's company. There hadn't been a dull moment that entire time. They had hung out a few times since then but it was always casual. Just two friends hanging out talking about superheroes, classes and just anything they could talk about.

When Takeru was placing the flower behind her ear it felt like a spark of electricity had shot through him in that small moment that his finger touched her skin. He had been completely oblivious to Charlotte's shaking hand. It was probably because he was focusing on keeping his own hand from shaking while he was placing the flower just right. The flower only added to Charlotte's beauty but in all honesty it paled in comparison. He smiled at her when he brought his hand back down to his side. He didn't notice a light blush coming from Charlotte but he played it off as his eyes playing tricks on him. The last thing he'd be expecting is Charlotte blushing at him. If anything it should be the other way around. Takeru blushing at the site of Charlotte. If Matt or his brother Taisuke could see him now. Melting at the sight of this beautiful girl. Most of his friends would probably tease him at how he acted when thinking about Charlotte but he could care less.

Ice cream it was then which was awesome because he hadn't had ice cream in a while. Being a dancer Takeru didn't eat a lot junk food all that often but every now and then he would. Since he worked out a lot not just with dancing but with soccer and a lot of running to just stay in good condition eating junk food wasn't the wisest decision but that didn't mean that he should avoid it like the plague. Just meant that had to keep in check how much he did eat. Tonight would be a glad break to eat some sugar. Takeru loved ice cream. So with Charlotte's hand linked with his arm they were off to the ice cream parlor.

It was a chilly night but not extremely cold as they walked from the complex to the ice cream parlor. They weren't too far apart from each other since the complex was located in town. It was a clear night sky and the moon was shining brightly alongside the stars that night. He looked at her with a curious look at the sound of his nickname. "What I'm looking forward too? Hmmm, well I guess the just the interaction between the cast. I mean we don't get a bunch of heroes in one movie." he said slightly excitedly. Takeru absolutely loved that he could talk about superheroes with Charlotte. He had met a number of girls that only knew superheroes through the actors that had portrayed but that wasn't the same with Charlotte. "Extremely different personalities clashing is going to be a lot of fun. At least I hope considering how much build-up they've been putting into this." He said as they reached their destination. He pulled the door open and waited for Charlotte to walk inside first before entering himself. There weren't too many people in line so they wouldn't be waiting long. "How about you?" he asked as they moved forward in line and eventually reaching the front. He put his order in for a mint shake. He waited for Charlotte to order her treat and then paid for both.

Ice cream had been one of Charlotte’s favourite foods, other than everything else that she could really think about. She knew that Takeru wasn’t able to eat foods like this because of his dancing and everything but she was happy that he was willing to do something like this because he wanted to have a good time. It was something she had always been that she had been thankful for, you know having someone that was willing to do something like this and just let go of some really important things because of the relationship and the feelings that they share for each other and that was something she didn’t want to let go away.

It was a little bit of a cold night, but most nights were like this during this time of the year. She was still kind of happy because the walk between the ice cream parlour and the complex wasn’t that much and she wouldn’t have to be out in the chilly breeze for too long. It was good that he seemed to be alright with the nickname that she had decided to give to him. It was something that she had come up with just out of nowhere and she was over joyed to know that he was starting to get used to it! “You have a point, a bunch a superheros are always awesome!” She said sounds just as excited as Takeru had been, Superheros had been something that had been able to relate to and had been something that had always been able to connect with. Once Takeru had finished his explanation about what he was looking forward to they had reach their first destination, the ice cream place! “I can’t wait to see how they just make to work! I can’t wait to see everything, if you know what I mean!” She said with a big smile on her face, on top of that she also had the most excited look on her face. You really couldn’t wipe that smile off of her face. Once Takeru had given the man his order she then placed hers as a scoop of strawberry ice cream, she just wanted to be craving for some strange reason.

Once they had finished the ice cream/milkshake’s they had decided that it might be a good idea to start walking to the movie theatre, considering the fact that the movie was starting in about half an hour. It was always really good to be able to do something like this when it was a movie that the two people where really interested in. Charlotte had been just trying to picture the comic books in her mind as they had started to walk. That was the one thing that she really hoped that they did. If they didn’t do the comic book justice then she would be on the internet as soon as they got back to her apartment. It was what she had when she had seen Twilight and that was something that she never wanted to think about again!

“THAT MOVIE WAS….. AWESOME!” Charlotte had said as soon as they had been a few minutes away from the movie theatre. She had felt as if she had doubted the series before going to the movie but it was just so awesome that she had to yell out something. Though, while doing so she also jumped on the dancer and gave him a massive hug. It was just something that she did whenever she was excited about something but it was even better that she had this now with him. It just felt even more special. Even though the hand holding in the theatre had been something that she couldn’t help but blush a little when thinking about it. The walk back from the theatre was something that she had really liked, because they had spent the entire way back just talking about what they liked and loved about the movie that they had just seen!

This was the part of the night that Charlotte was really wasn’t looking forward too. After spending the past couple of hours with the person that she could see herself with for the rest of forever, she knew that is was going to be weird to say good bye. Even though that was true she knew in the back of her mind that is was something that she had to do. As soon as they had reached her door she knew that this would be where they parted ways. So she turned around so that her back was to the door and just waited to see who would be first.

Anyone could probably agree that Takeru and Charlotte were a rather perfect match. Here they were, getting ice cream and getting super excited over a superhero movie. How many girls got like that and not just over the guys in the film but for the storyline and characters and because they like superheroes. Takeru didn't meet many all the time, at least not many that he got along with this much. When they finished their treats they took their leave to the theatre. As they got closer Takeru became more excited about the movie and their enthusiasm began to grow. He had no doubt that the movie was going to be great.

"Awesome? That was beyond words." he said excitedly as they walked out of the theatre. The movie had exceeded all expectations and Takeru could not describe how giddy he was because of it. Of course their hand holding while watching the film had added a whole extra layer to his excitement. When it had happened Takeru couldn't help the fact that it was as if butteflies were swarming inside of him. Yes, he sounded like a girl but he was head over heels for this girl so why couldn't he feel the way he did. As they were walking back home they were both just bursting with excitement over what they had seen and talked nonstop the entire time. Restating their favorite scenes or saying their favorite quotes.

Sadly though all good things must come to an end at some point. This was their's, at least for tonight. It was time for them to part and say goodnight. Takeru really couldn't reiterate enough how amazing his night was. All thanks to Charlotte. To say that the atmosphere wasn't a awkward would be a lie. It had to with the obvious reason that neither really wanted to say good night. "I guess this is where we say good night. I had a great time. I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much." he joked trying to lighten the mood. There was something he wanted to do that he's wanted to do for a while now but obviously couldn't. Now was his chance though but the question was was he going to be able to bulk up the courage to do so.

Oh screw it. After a couple more silent, awkward moments Takeru decided to take a chance. He cupped the side of Charlotte's face and inched forward until his lips met hers in soft but sensual kiss that lasted for what felt like an eternity. As soon as their lips met a jolt of electricity raced through him, down his spine, and throughout his body. Takeru broke the kiss and had a smile on his face as he looked at Charlotte. After a few more moments he said "Sweet dreams." in a soft but soothing voice, placed one last kiss on her lips, turned and began walking away. Inside he was backflips and jumping off the walls but on the outside he remained cool and collected.

When he got home he opened the door, closed it and just leaned on it for a moment as he replayed the night's events repeated in his head. Best night ever.
