WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives Justin missed the warm weather. Warmer than this winter at least. He hadn’t considered this place really ‘warm’ considering he grew up in the south part of the United States, and he was now all the way here in Canada. A place he knew he was going to end up since he was born (as long as he developed the ability properly), but still never expected to actually come. Until he had come up here, he had never really fully understood the term freezing balls. The snow was nice for about the first month, but after a while, it got old. The wind was nice. Of course that was other people’s number one complaint, but Justin had to say the wind was the only comforting thing about it right now. The bitter wind hitting his face (though it was making him shiver) brought a strange comfort to him. No one might have guessed. Being a typical wind, he was hard to predict.
Right now he was just walking through. He hadn’t found himself here many times. It was still ‘under-construction’ but had a few little things about it that made it somewhat presentable. He wondered how long the group had been exactly working on something like this. There was never a time he could remember where this thing was actually finished. The requirement level he supposed had to be someone at the college level or possibly above. It was hard to say considering he hadn’t paid much attention to the other elements and what they could do. He was very picky about what he cared about. Fire, Earth, Water, and Thunder really hadn’t interested him. Only the people could really interest him. Not the elements themselves. Anyone that knew him well should have known that wasn’t a particular insult. It just hadn’t grabbed his attention. Simple and honest enough.
He tilted his head up toward the sky, seeing the clouds not even giving a chance for the sun to peek out. It made his usual bright clear blue eyes to a dimmer glow. His nose red because of the cold but the rest of his face snuggled up in a jacket and scarf complete with a winter hat. He was known for dressing quite well, but that was for the purpose of taking care of himself. Wasn’t he allowed not to look like a slob? Mostly right now, it was also for the purpose of making sure that his ears and neck didn’t freeze off. Something he knew was nearly impossible, but all the same. He didn’t want to feel like they were about to. Why the man was even out here was a mystery to some. The truth was, he was meeting someone here. He wasn’t going to stand out here for just anyone either. No, anyone else could go and find him in a more comfortable spot, but if she could put up with him, he could certainly put up with her. Just undesirably cold.
It wasn’t actually all that bad in this area though. As soon as someone stepped out, sure, but the inside of it was enough to make him start thawing out. It was the shortest way to some of the classes and somewhere anyone could get a breath of fresh air alone. Sometimes someone needed to be alone… that was, except for Justin. He was a social butterfly and needed to be out with everyone and everywhere. The silence was too loud for him. To sit back and just enjoy the view wasn’t also his style. He would much rather sit in silence with someone else than to sit by himself. There was some sort of strange comfort level for him. He was the center of attention. He had to be loved by people around him. So if he was by himself, there was no one there. That was probably what he was thinking, but he never really did take phycology. There were many people fascinated with how the brain worked, but he would rather not know the reasons as to why. Just live the moment and stop asking so many questions.
He wanted to sit down, but his legs felt too numb to move, so he just stood and waited a little bit. Justin was early- a stupid mistake on his part. He was sure that her being a teacher was exhausting enough. He couldn’t imagine trying to teach a classroom full of… well him. He knew how he was in the class. He knew that he liked to make a challenge. There were few teachers he didn’t get rambunctious with. The detention room used to be his daily thing until he realized that he ought to probably cool off a little bit. Justin pressed buttons- nothing more. Unless there was a bad grade given to him. Then his little ego was damaged, causing him to rebel a little more. But what was life without a little rebellion?
OOC: Wasn’t sure if this was okay. Lemme know if I need to change anything <3

She hated the beginning of the year with a passion. For Rin, the start of term meant the influx of a new group of brats that hadn't yet been moulded to her ways. They always stepped into the classroom with the confident swagger of a high schooler that suggested they thought they were above the system. They were better than their teachers. They could do whatever they wanted. And Rin, for the sake of her paycheck, was going to have to put up with all their bullshit and crack down for the first couple of months until even the toughest of her students had backed off. She was no pushover to be taken advantage of and she liked them to know this. Caterina had a reputation amongst her students for handing out detentions and extra homework assignments like they were candies on Halloween and she didn't accept excuses for being late or skipping class unless they had solid alibis. No bullshit was to be tolerated in her classroom. Unfortunately for the redhead, her current batch had yet to get the message through their skulls. "Now, because you've all paid such great attention, I'm sure you'll be more than equipped to handle the assignment I have prepared." She loved to see the mixture of disgust, exasperation, horror and indifference in the kids as they groaned and exchanged glances. "We haven't even done anything!" one of the quieter and less obnoxious students piped up from the back with indignance. She considered him for a moment. No, she didn't have a fondness for this one. He wasn't getting off the hook. "Then you should thank your classmates for the opportunity." She explained the assignment with cheer in her tone and ended with, "If they're not on my desk by Monday, they'll be a zero. No extensions." Let them try and miss with her now.
Though she had taken some joy in knocking her students down a peg, the theatre teacher was likely as relieved as they were when the bell clanged loudly to announce the end of class. Thank fuck for that. The classes felt long some days and she knew she'd back out of the position in a heartbeat if it wasn't what was putting food on her table. Someone had told her once that you should only become a teacher if your heart's in it because of the mediocre pay and now she understood what they meant. Wonder what Justin's up to. She'd arranged to meet her friend in the courtyard and she was looking forward to the chance to vent about her irritating-as-fuck students and wind down with a good chat. That the fellow Wind was still a student mattered very little to Rin—he was a college student, a junior, so it didn't bring her the weird sensation she got whenever a high schooler became a little too familiar. There had never been that awkwardness between them. He was probably one of the closer friends she had and she really felt that he understood her. A fellow actor—aspiring, at least—Justin was a good guy to have around. She did the irresponsible thing and neglected to grade her papers before heading out to meet him, deciding that they could wait. Just because she was supposed to be a responsible adult didn't mean she always followed that path. Procrastinating wasn't just for teens.
She spotted him before he noticed her and came up from behind, greeting him in typical Rin style with a not-too-light whack across the back of the head. It wasn't meant to do any real damage but anyone who said that she 'hit like a girl' was probably lying in her opinion. She'd always prided herself on being able to hold her own. Regardless, Justin was a friend. She was only busting his balls here. "If you stand there much longer you'll become a part of the scenery. You'd make one ugly ice sculpture, you know that?" Her icy blue eyes were glittering with a teasing sort of light as she smirked at him. Yeah, she definitely enjoyed being a dick to her friends in the spirit of fun. If they took her seriously then they weren't worthy of a friendship, now were they? No. Not in her books. "How long have you been standing there? I'm no model when it comes to attendance but I—" She drew out the word as she pulled out her phone and checked the time to be sure, "—am right on time." Maybe he hadn't been there too long, she hadn't a clue. "So did you manage to get through class without nodding off? Always found that difficult myself. But hey, I didn't murder my students. Good of me, eh?" She held up her hands with palms out as if she was inviting him to ensure there was no blood there, still with the smirk fixed on her features. She often joked about murdering the entire class out of frustration but she hadn't done it yet. Jail wasn't a place she wanted to be, anyway.

WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives This is what he got for arriving early. Stupid Justin. He should have learned by now that showing up early meant that he was waiting there forever. Or it felt like forever. He supposed that if the weather was warm, he would have been able to sit out there forever, but at the moment, he should have been a little warmer. He bundled himself closer to his coat, not paying attention much to his surroundings. He was a little tired, considering the nights before he hadn’t slept very long. Staying up late and getting up early was taking a harder toll on him, but clearly not enough for Justin to change his life style. He needed to start, or he wasn’t going to have enough energy to do anything with wind. Shaking his head to himself, he felt a quick hit at the back of his head. It was quite unexpected and Justin was ready for anything, but he should have known who it was. His head whipped around, but ended up giving a smile when he saw it had been the very person he had been looking for.
He didn’t know how teachers didn’t age fifty years in a day. First hand, he knew how awful kids could be. Quite honestly, he wasn’t a good kid in the classroom. He was extremely smart, but he knew it, and tended to be a little cocky about it. If it caused in more work, it didn’t bother him any. When he was in high school, he hadn’t done it as much. In college, it seemed to switch the mode from being a good kid to a bad kid. If bad was even the word for it. It was more like causing a little more fun in the classroom when everyone else was about to fall asleep. Teachers seemed to always take offense to that. If Justin were a teacher, he wouldn’t know how to deal with it either, he guessed. Looking at Rini, he figured that he might have behaved for her. He tended to be a sweet kid when the teacher was more attractive. He couldn’t help himself.
Teasingly, he puckered his bottom lip out, and rubbed the back of his neck. ”Don’t be such a husband beater. I don’t think that’d look good on your record.” But a smile came across his frozen lips as he put his hand down to put it back in his pocket. At her comment, he managed a small laugh and lifted his head up, having a little wind peek into the place enough to ruffle his bit of hair peeking out of his hat. Looking back at her, he shook his head, ”Bullshit, I’d make the best ice sculpture this place has ever seen. Unfortunately, becoming ice isn’t my specialty.” Most of what came out of his mouth was similar to that, which was why some of the strangers he talked to didn’t understand. He said it with the most serious face and serious tone, no different than what he might have said talking about the weather, but that was the perks of being an actor, wasn’t it? She out of all the people he knew would understand. Though her teaching methods were hard and strict, she was making the best drama out of all of the kids who thought they were hot until they walked in there. He would know. He had been one of them. In many ways, he still was one of them.
Justin wore his watch and pulled it out to observe the time at the same time she did. He knew most modern day of people used their phones to check the time. It was the main reason he wore a watch. Being different was something he liked to be good at. He shrugged, but didn’t really answer considering he really hadn’t been there long. There were just a few moments where he thought he had been there a while, but now that he was thinking about it, it wasn’t too terribly long. He clutched closer to himself as if to trap in any heat that he was penetrating as he watched her. Yes, indeed, the life of a teacher had to be rough. A tough woman like herself was sure to take care of that. She could take mostly anything that came at her, unlike most women, who took the smallest things and made them into giant problem the world was forced to deal with. It was one of the things Justin liked about her.
He started walking with her, leading to get something to eat- as a growing boy was always hungry. His legs were able to make small little steps, looking forward most of the time and occasionally turning his head to show her that he was listening. An amused smile appeared on his face, ”I had no choice. I try to make the classroom interesting and I get in trouble for it. So I have to doze off. They prefer it that way.” His voice was almost always soft and had a sort of soothing melody to it. It also had a twist of an accent that came out of it. This accent only showed itself when he was tired. It was a little softer, but he did have to make it somewhat audible considering the environment they were in. Luckily, Rini announced that she hadn’t killed any of her students. One of those days, huh? ”Oh very good. Let’s hope that you can survive the week that way. You’re far too pretty to be locked in a jail cell. I’m far too pretty to go and visit you.”

She liked people that could handle her friendly aggression. It wasn't like she was trying to do any serious harm, after all. Justin was one of her friends that took her attitude and rolled with it. She could respect that in a person. "Can't be a husband beater if I don't have a husband," she said with a smirk. "Marriage isn't my thing." She didn't actually know what her thing was seeing as only one of her relationships had gone on long enough to be considered serious. Then he'd decided that he was going to study in America and she'd refused to go with him, so that had been the end of that. And good riddance. She didn't like being reliant on anyone. "Besides, that's probably the nicest thing I'd have on my record." She chuckled, joking. She had a couple DUI's, an assault charge (she insisted the guy deserved it) and of course the wonderful parking tickets. She always joked that it was only because they hadn't found the bodies yet but Rin was not really a killer. Just in her jokes.
Rin swept a critical gaze up and down his appearance, frowning as if considering what she saw. "I don't see it." It was all too easy for her to feign disinterest and disdain. They were both into the wonderful world of acting and so they understood one another on that level more than anything else. It was what she liked in a friend. It was a similarity that they easily clicked over. "For all your skill it's a little hard to do a good impersonation of a Water graduate, huh?" They could take the ice sculpture thing up to eleven and turn themselves into living statues encased in a layer of ice. She'd seen a couple of them showing it off on the lawn the other day. It did little more than exasperate her. It was a cool trick but she had issues with disliking anything she couldn't do herself.
She lifted her brows. "Interesting, huh?" Oh, she knew that word only too well. "You're lucky you're not in my class. I'd enjoy knocking you down a peg." Things would undoubtedly have turned out differently for the pair of them if they had met as student and teacher instead of as friends, she figured. She was much like a Thunder in how easily first impressions could define her opinions on an individual. Justin was one of the people who had given her a decent first impression and then succeeded in building upon it in subsequent meetings. She had to wonder what sort of impression her bitchy, selfish and ball-busting nature had left on the fellow Wind elemental in the beginning. She didn't have a whole lot of boundaries when it came to her jokes and with how easily offended humans could be overall it wasn't surprising that she rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. But she was friendly and easily replaced any connections that she lost. A social creature, she thrived on the company of others. "Least you can catch up on sleep. It's considered bad taste for a teacher to doze off at her desk. Tch." They were irritating and boring enough to put her to sleep sometimes.
Truthfully she was surprised by and even proud of the fact that she had managed to hold down her job for so long. She didn't think she'd actually snap and murder them all but quitting had felt like a very real possibility in the beginning. Now, three years later, she was amazed that she was still around. She was actually accustomed to the job much as she complained about it and the students she was forced to teach. "Ugh, jail. I've seen enough of that for a lifetime." It hadn't even been for that long but apparently when you got drunk and started wailing on your ex-boyfriend they threw you in there to straighten up. It hadn't worked out all that well, she was still a spitfire when she was intoxicated, but she hadn't landed herself in jail again yet. She considered that an accomplishment. "Good to know you've got my back if I end up in the slammer, though. You're a real friend." She rolled her eyes but the smirk on her lips suggested her lack of offence. "So where are we going, anyway?" She didn't mind either way, she was usually up for doing anything with a friend, but it would be nice to know.

WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives There were very few people that he could just stand and talk to for hours on end without having to do anything but talk, and still be amused. He did it sometimes not to be rude or he was gaining some brownie points. Don’t get him wrong. It wasn’t as if he would put a shiny apple on a desk, but if he could get on someone’s good side that easily, he was going to do it. He just had to be careful- no one liked a teacher’s pet. Not even a teacher. Or so the stories he had heard. The only time he really got along with his teachers was after he was out of the classroom environment. They were a lot less tense and Justin was a lot less obnoxious. Outside of the classroom, they were equals. It made things a lot simpler. If Rin and himself had met on terms of the classroom condition, he was sure they would hate each other’s guts. She would try to put him back down and Justin would do all of his work perfectly and still manage to make as much ruckus as he could manage.
With a huff as if it should have been obvious, he teased, ”Oh come on, since when was that a requirement? In any case, any type of beater is frowned upon in society.” He frowned upon it too. There was this bitter judgment and label someone had on someone else when that happened. The same judgment when there was a mug shot on the news. For all he knew, they could be innocent, but that was only about five percent of the time. Ninety-five, they were guilty. It was the five that probably had the hardest life. Five was quite a few people when there were millions of people like that. So unfortunate. ”Is not most people’s thing. Frightens people when they are forced to be tied down.” He said as if he were an outsider watching the human race function. It sure indeed frighten him. As much as it scared him to get a woman pregnant. He never wanted to consider that option.
Justin stayed as still as he could when she was observing him with the scenery. He was taking shallow breaths and suddenly the world was a little dizzier, but it went away after one big breath. Then of course, she put on her verdict and his shoulders dropped. He was still the most beautiful sculpture here. Everyone knew it was going to take a lot more than that to put someone like Justin down. If he let every judgment like that get to him, especially someone who was just trying to give him shit because she could, he would be nowhere. Most people that thought highly of themselves weren’t very sensitive. Ever notice? ”Critics.” He muttered loudly under his breath, ”I can impersonate a water graduate all I want. However, actually doing the whole water thing would be rather difficult. I stopped doing magic when I was ten.” So many tricks he was out of practice of. But not too bad for someone that couldn’t reach to get the milk. He was a shorty. For a guy, anyway. He just wasn’t those crazy towering basketball players running around on campus.
Being a teacher, she knew the exact definition of interesting when it was coming out of a student’s mouth. ”How would you punish a kid who does all of his homework but still makes a mess in the classroom? That’d be the fun challenge I’d provide you.” He sneered, although she probably already knew what kind of tormenting child he would be within the walls of a class. It was a wonder that the school even allowed him to proceed. It was hard to think that in only a couple of years, he was going to be out and making a life of his own. Part of him was excited while the other was trying to figure out what he was going to do. Getting an acting job would have been the perfect solution, but that had to be the dream every other person had, wasn’t it? Out of all the people, Rin would completely understand that. The hard life of drama kids. ”I know I wouldn’t mind. Bastards.” He cursed, shaking his head and stepping out into the cold wind. Up and flying his hair went again.
Justin couldn’t picture her behind bars. Despite how sometimes she could get a little bit of a temper, didn’t anyone? Anyone should have known what happened if you attacked a man with no reason besides he was an ass. ”Did you attack the inflatable snowman again?” He sighed exasperated. Truly no record of her ever doing that, but the picture came into his head and he giggled to himself as he just pictured the redhead leaping for the lit up snowman smiling and waving to the rest of the world. When he was younger, some of his friends attacked one and got in trouble with the police. Apparently it was more than just frowned upon. ”To get coffee. Or tea, depending on which one. If you don’t like either then.. fine, be cold.” He told her with a half-smile, not being able to keep a straight face for too long. The trick to a straight face was thinking about something else. Which was the hardest thing to do.

Caterina rolled her eyes, determined not to be outdone. "Since they called it spouse beater, dumb ass." The redhead scoffed in her throat and shook her head as if questioning why she ever hung around him but it was all in good fun. If he irked her that much she would have cut contact a long time ago. Rin had a lot of friends and she was social enough to be confident that she could replace any that she lost with relative ease. Not that there would be any replacing Justin. She'd never admit it to him (his ego didn't need any boosting) but he was one of a kind in her books. "Society can suck my dick." She didn't like being told what to do. There was an instinct to rebel and that was part of what had made the teaching job so hard at first. What did they mean, she had to cover up her tattoo? And why couldn't she cuss in front of them? It wasn't like ninth graders had never heard the word fuck before. But she'd adapted because money, unfortunately, was much more effective in the real world than her good ol' stubbornness.
She thought about his words, shrugged. "I don't get it, really. It's a couple of words and a ring. What's the point?" Her view on marriage was more due to her view on money than anything else. Why would she spend thousands of dollars on one single day when she could buy a new car or put toward a better apartment? "And divorce settlements can get nasty as fuck. If I break up with a guy there ain't a thing the law can do about it." For a while she'd thought about marriage when she'd gotten into her first truly serious relationship but those thoughts had been shattered when he'd chosen his education over her. "As for being tied down... eh, if you're a cheater, you're a cheater. Don't see the big deal otherwise." Marriage wasn't an inescapable pact, it was just a hell of a lot harder to get out of than an ordinary relationship. If there were kids involved you could forget it.
"So what you're saying is that you can't impersonate them at all," she dead-panned, unimpressed. No one could, though, so it wasn't like she could be all that critical. She'd like to be able to go all Fire elemental and blast the cold into next week but her genetics had decided that fucking shit up tornado style had been a little more appropriate. She also enjoyed blowing things out of people's hands to be a bitch. She wasn't all that friendly.
It did not take her very long to come up with a response. "Three strikes and you'd be out of my class for good. It wouldn't be the first time I passed off my dirty laundry to one of the other teachers." She smirked. unashamed. If there was a problem child that she couldn't defeat by piling on the homework then she would appeal to her boss and get them transferred out. It was easy enough. "They don't listen to my authority," she'd shrug, "so maybe another teacher would do a better job. They disrupt the learning environment." It was usually a load of bullshit but if took a problem off her hands she was more than happy to spout it. "You know," she said in a light and conversational tone, "from an objective standpoint, I kind of hate you." Her sweet tone gave away the fact that it was not a real issue. If she'd actually hated Justin she'd be more likely to go for him or start in with the really hard-hitting insults. She was an absolute terror to her enemies. "Of course you wouldn't mind." She laughed, squinting as a gust of wind tossed long red strands of hair into her eyes. That's what she got for always wearing it down.
Rin blinked. "What." Was there some kind of joke going around about her taking out her anger on that stupid thing? Her head was big enough to believe that people would spread things around about her and so instead of assuming Justin was joking, her mind went elsewhere. She looked irritated for a moment but brushed it off. She had a temper but she was no Fire. "My ex, actually. Fucker deserved it." That was all the explanation she gave, figuring that Justin knew her well enough that it would be enough. "Who even drinks tea any more?" It was more common than she made it out to be. In Rin's mind, tea was for British people and hipsters who thought it was cool to act British. Not for her. "Coffee's fine. We going off campus or are we trusting the school shit?" It was hit or miss. Sometimes it was good, other times it was bad. Most of the time it depended on how you liked your coffee. Can't please every crowd. "Could always get us into the staff room. You're not supposed to be in there but who gives a fuck?" What were they going to do, slap her on the wrist and tell her not to let students past the door?

Post by JUSTIN DANIEL DUVAL on Dec 25, 2012 18:18:58 GMT -5
WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives Both of them defiantly had the desire to win the last word. Justin wasn’t highly competitive in that portion, he supposed. If he were, they would be trying to top each other with every little discussion they might have had. Justin liked to play if he could, but with Rin, that was like trying to put up the dominate card on a god. Or goddess in her case. Justin would have figured she would have made a good fire element. Interestingly enough considering that Justin would have made a good water element. It was a wonder why they got along so well. But he was reminded once again why the pair always seemed to get along and laugh, joking around. Justin burst into laughter when she made her wonderful vulgar comment. ”I’m sure society will be too surprised you have a dick to do anything else.” He said, trying to keep back his amusement. That phrase had always been interesting to him. Guys didn’t go around saying ‘lick my pussy’ but suck my dick was very acceptable. Course, the sound of the other one made his stomach turn, and he made a note never to think of it again.
Rin did have a point of the whole marriage thing. It was a written contract that could be broken apart if one of the parties wanted it. That was one of his biggest problems. Justin was just so easily bored. Something- or someone- that seemed so wonderful and interesting within a couple of months would start to lose the fascination he had. He supposed that was the problem with most couples. Couldn’t blame him for doing something that everyone else did and may not have had the guts to admit. As it was rather harsh for someone to tell someone they had liked ‘I got bored’. Another reason Justin wasn’t so famous among his ex’s. ”I suppose it’s the contract. The same last name. Sharing every little bit of thing that you own.” He said, looking at his hand and picking something off of it as he did so. ”That’s exactly why you are tied down. Who wants to go through that shit?” His facial expression changed to one he might have made if he tasted bad food. It did leave a bad taste in his mouth he supposed.
Once a cheater always a cheater. Justin thought that line was a little unfair. He had cheated before, yet, he had also refrained himself. Of course, that ended up as being hell in a hand basket because she thought he cheated anyway but the thought was the same. She should have known that if he did, he would have admitted it. It was like those ‘once a liar always a liar’. Also a stupid line. ”And marriage is… you know, that forever kind of thing.” Marriage had always intrigued him. It really had. The concept of it was interesting. His parents had been married all the way to his father’s death, but what would have happened after that? It was an answer that he didn’t think he would ever be able to answer. One of his friends- Nell- had just gotten married. Justin was very weary of that. He didn’t want his friend to be hurt, but what was to say that she was going to be the one to have her heart broken? As opposed to the one getting that way. They seemed rather in love. It will be a small little experiment for him to see what happens next in this scenario.
Much like Justin, Rin was quick. Without hesitation. He wondered if she just had the habit of saying whatever first came to her mind or if she had used some of these lines before. Though he supposed being a teacher required some of those special little quirks in order to keep a classroom in order. ”At all seems to cruel of an explanation.” He said cooly. There was no doubt in his mind that he was able to do it somewhat. At least act like it. If he had to put on a show, perhaps he could pull out some of his magic tricks for old times sake. The thought of those cards back in his hand made him shake his head a little bit. Rin could tell his bullshit from a mile away. One of the attributes that wasn’t found in many people. Although, the two way street worked out well. ”I’m sure your peers love you tossing rotten students to them. Like a brand new Christmas present every time.” He mused softly, not acknowledging the fact that she had a pretty good point. He wouldn’t have to though. Him not mentioning it was enough.
Justin was not at all offended. He started laughing, his breath being swept away from the wind in a puffy white smoke cloud. ”Bullshit, you love me.” Being very close to Caterina, he knew when to back down and when to not care about what was being said. It was a little task that he had to learn to master over time, but with everything, practice did make that little hint of perfection, didn’t it? When she went on and he saw that she was starting to get irritated, he didn’t backtrack and try to gain her confidence back. He didn’t ignore it either. He just replied in a very cool and calm manner. Man, the guy would have made a great bomb exterminator. ”Kidding. I wouldn’t know you to attack Christmas objects placed on someone’s front lawn. Another thing to be frowned upon.” He had a very hard time not saying ‘my dear’ as it was just something he called everyone. But calling Rin that seemed somehow wrong. ”Most ex’s do.” Whether it was himself or the other person, Justin agreed one of them at least deserved to get something. Why anyone would let Rin go, he would never understand. Fools thought they were crazy enough to handle her, they should be crazy enough to stay.
He sighed, ”Obviously people who don’t like coffee.” Though why someone didn’t like that taste, he would never understand. Perhaps they had a bad experience with a cheap coffee that was mostly watered down or something. That generic brand that didn’t have many actual coffee beans in it, but all kinds of other foreign objects that didn’t belong in coffee. He opened his mouth to reply off campus, but then she continued on with it. There were many people who wanted to do something just because it wasn’t allowed or it was new and exciting. Justin was one of those people. This was going to be an advantage he wanted. ”Staff room? Now that interests me. Is it as exciting as everyone says?” He teased, remembering some of the amazing rumors that came around. So amazing, they were probably false. For example, he doubted they had a teleport within these walls. Crazy kids and their imaginations. Rin snorted and rolled her eyes as if this were a serious conversation. "Please. They've seen worse." There was a lot of weird shit going on in the world at any given time. It was part of what Rin loved about the planet. She might not have liked a whole lot of people for conversation but they fascinated her all the same.
She'd never much liked sharing her possessions and she scowled at the thought of it. Being in love only changed her slightly in that she was slightly more tolerant of the other's faults but she would always be a selfish person at heart. "It's fuckin' ridiculous," she said, shaking her head. "If I marry an asshole and decide to call it off I don't want the prick making off with half my assets. Who decided that was a thing, anyway?" She hated the laws sometimes. Sure, she understood that it was 'wrong' for her to beat the shit out of her ex because she was in a bad mood but how was it right for said ex to turn around and take her of half the stuff she had because she had a ring on her finger? Hell, she was glad they'd never gotten serious enough for a wedding. "Not me, that's for sure." What was the point, anyway?
She dipped her head. "Till death do us part. I think homicide should count for that, to be honest, but since they're bent-set on that being illegal..." She was only kidding, mostly, but didn't sound it. "Divorce is an absolute ass-pain if the other person won't call it off, too." It couldn't be finalized without both parties signing and the court would get involved and it was all a big mess that she didn't want to deal with.
Justin was an actor but playing pretend could only get a person so far. She'd have loved to chase the cold away with Fire powers but no matter how much she waved her arms around in the air, nothing was going to happen. "Oh, suck it up." Her smirk was unsympathetic. She was never gentle with her friends. He was probably used to it, being her best buddy and all. She appreciated his tolerance of her. "Present? Sending you over would be like the equivalent of a flaming bag of dog shit on their front porch. It's a wonder they still talk to me." Not all of them did but there were always rivalries in a workplace. Rin didn't let it bother her. There were quite a few people among the staff that she'd love to catch in the streets. Solving problems with violence wasn't allowed on school grounds but they didn't say anything about what happened in the city.
She didn't look at them as they walked, flicking her hand in his general direction to signify dismissal. "You keep telling yourself that." There was never any fear that Justin would take something she said the wrong way. Even if he did, Caterina was of the sort that could shrug it off and move on. She'd lost plenty of friends in her life. She was a transient person. She'd miss the guy to death, sure, but it didn't mean she'd ever admit it or come crawling back. It wasn't her style. "Hey, now, I wouldn't say that. If I don't like my neighbours they're in for a surprise if they leave anything lying around." None of them had lawns since Rin lived in an apartment complex but she had jumped down to a lower balcony once to fuck their shit up. They'd complained about noise when she was blasting music and she hadn't liked that. Thankfully they'd never been able to prove that it was her. "You'd probably frown on a lot of shit I've done, not that I give a fuck." Another sugary smile was shot in his direction.
She made a face. "Again, who the hell doesn't like coffee?" She stressed the words heavily, seeming exasperated. Coffee was the best liquid to grace the Earth and she refused to believe that there was anyone out there who didn't like it. If they said they didn't, they were lying. "Exciting? Pfft, it's boring as fuck. But there's a couch and a coffee machine which is a hell of a lot better than standing around in balls-below-zero weather on the front lawn." She wasn't a big fan of the outdoors. "Come on, maybe we can get there before the crowd." She sped up her pace to a brisk walk and didn't slow down until they'd reached the door, pulling it open and heading inside. A couple of her coworkers were hanging about but she paid them no mind as she made a beeline straight to the coffee machine and dumped out the contents. Ignoring an irate exclamation from someone else, she turned to Justin and asked, "No one in here can make coffee right." And by 'right' she meant 'the way she liked it'. She started to brew a new pot, leaning against the counter casually.

WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives It was easy to ignore most of the insults coming out of Rin’s mouth considering that he knew she didn’t mean half of it. She may have told herself that she meant every single little word of it, but Justin liked to believe somewhere she knew how much she didn’t mean it. For all he knew, she could have meant every word from deep within her heart. She only hung out to see how much she could possibly torment him. However, between his attitude and knowing hers, he highly doubted it. If he were one of her enemies, he was sure that he would be able to know. There would be nothing in his head to be pondering ‘gee, was there a sign she was giving me?’ The giant sign might have been her trying to run away and perhaps smacking him in the face a couple of times. Something that a couple of women had done to Justin, but still hadn’t made the boy give up hope.
Still, there was a small shake of his head after she made a snorting noise, ”Yes, but they will be surprised none the less. You don’t exactly look like a man. If you chopped off all your head, it would be the slightest chance, but still a ‘no.’” She shrugged, wanting to take his hand out to emphasize her hair as a point, but he wasn’t going to put his hand out of his pocket in this weather. Ha, no thank you. Whoever thought that was crazy. Justin could only take so much. The fact the pair were walking somewhere inside actually made him excited. He didn’t care if it was in the detention room- which he found himself in on occasion. He just cared that it had a function heater. Now to think of it, the idea seemed more and more pleasant. A smile appeared on his face as he thought of the feeling when someone walked in the room from cool to warm. Ears having feeling and the way a body just relaxed and shoulders became less tense. If only he didn’t have to experience the cold of it first.
The woman seemed rather passionate about not marrying. Justin wasn’t going to share that most of the time, when someone was dead set on not getting married, they found themselves in the knot eventually. That little rumor saying was something that also terrified him- as he too was part of the subject. Which was why he tried not to be overly passionate and opinioned about it, but he was Justin. He had a passionate opinion about everything. Even those he knew nothing about. He just talked like he did know. Which wasn’t hard to do when he was surrounding by those who didn’t know about it either. ”I think the cure for that is not to marry an ass.” He suggested calmly also of course having an answer for her, ”Women, I imagine. They got a divorce and got nothing. They figured they should have some. So, it’s your fault.” A fact he in fact, didn’t know if it was true or not. Not a single clue. Justin was just to guess because that seemed like the most logical answer. See? He was good at talking about things he didn’t know about while sounding as if he had known much about it. It was how he got through his papers. Although some teachers saw right through it- many didn’t.
Justin pretended to be unamused and annoyed, but the expression on his face didn’t last very long. His current expression was pretty much frozen solid on his face for how cold it was out there. The middle of December. He just wished that there would be some type of warmth reaching him soon. Justin didn’t like having to deal with this weather all the time. As soon as he graduated, he was going to take a vacation to the Caribbean and perhaps not come back. Though that would never happened. As much as he hated the cold, he hated the bloody heat even more. Why couldn’t places have a nice middle? ”No, I think you’re confusing me with your average every day students. If I’m going to be anything- it’ll be the biggest challenges of their lives. And they’ll learn and grow just as they ask us to do the same. Do you have to take a pledge on that or something?” If it weren’t socially unacceptable, perhaps Justin would take a moment to laugh at his own jokes. However, laughing at what he said often resulted in people thinking they weren’t very funny. So he refrained. No reason to give the haters something to complain about.
He did laugh at her saying that she didn’t somehow love him. If she was going to choose one person to die with, he was convinced it was him. Whether that was true or not was up in the air, but even if she told him differently, he wouldn’t believe a word of it. Everyone wanted to be with him and be his friend. One of the things he liked about Rin the most was that she didn’t let that get in the way of being herself. Most people liked to change and divert personalities, which was one of his biggest pet peeves. Do whatever you wanted, but be yourself? No one liked a faker unless it was up on the stage for entertainment. Whoever said life was a stage wasn’t too mistaken under those terms. ”Lying around is one thing, but attacking a Christmas decoration doesn’t seem to be your style.” He shrugged with a small glint of humor on his face, ”Frown upon? I would never!” He gasped. Justin was all about learning experiences. She would have to know that out of everyone. Her not giving a fuck was the greater thing about that statement. Even if he would have cared. It was one of the small attributes of Justin that made people not want to kill him.
The teacher’s lounge was just as he expected it to be. Nothing like what any of the rumors of silly children had informed him. Just a room. A couch. There was a smell of coffee that was filling the room. It was hard to believe that they went here to escape. He would be there to freeze or something. Only going in there if he absolutely had to. ”What a charming place.” His eyes looked from corner to corner as he felt himself thawing out, ”They’re teachers, what do you expect?” He teased. He did have to admit that if he had to deal with students like himself, he probably would have gotten fired a long time ago. Though he didn’t know what the criteria was like in Canada. He was only familiar with the United States because that’s all his old teacher would talk about. Oh those days. AND WE WOULD LAUGH AT ALL THE douchebag guys chasing down desperate wives

She had to agree that she wasn't very masculine, no matter how tough she tried to act in bars when hanging around her male friends. She was glad of it, really. She didn't have to whine about having manly shoulders or a complete lack of a chest. Not that she was well-endowed but it was better than being a stick. "With these curves? There's no doubting that I'm a chick." She put her hand on her hip as if to accentuate the curves that didn't really exist. She thought she was the hottest bitch on the planet, curves or no curves, and so she had no issues with calling attention to herself.
She snorted, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. As if it couldn't be more obvious that she disapproved of what he'd said, Rin scathed, "If it were that easy to pick out an ass in every crowd, I wouldn't have exes." It wasn't like she wanted a negative love life. There had been a time when Rin had what she now considered to be naive hopes and dreams for her future. She'd wanted a guy that truly cared about her. Now she'd given that dream up for dead. She dated on and off but she was cynical about it and nothing really lasted long. "If you're such a fucking spectacular love guru, where's your perfect little arm candy? Hm?" There was a challenge to her tone, Rin absolutely certain that she'd gotten him with this one. He didn't have a girlfriend that she knew of so who was he to talk? "Oh, fuck you. Chauvinist pig." Her blue eyes glinted.
She made a face. "Ew, you sound like a cheesy hallmark card. Stop." She hated those cards. Send her one on her birthday or Christmas and she wouldn't know what to do with it, or you for that matter. "God no, we're just expected to love all our students, treat them the same and all that bull. It's a load of shit." She didn't care about the vast majority of her students. Contrary to popular belief, though, she did have some that she liked. Ms. Raine Ellison was one such student. Mr. Lovejoy had been another but he'd long since faded into the background. Justin, good at acting as he was, would not have been one that she favoured. She had a feeling that she'd absolutely abhor him in a classroom setting. She was glad they'd met elsewhere. He was a good friend even if he did get on her nerves sometimes. Everyone got on her nerves.
Rin laughed. "You have too much faith in me. Damn right I'd destroy their shit." She liked to enrage people. Being an antagonistic person wasn't exactly a positive thing but she was proud of it. Perhaps more than she should have been. "I don't care if their fuckin' kid made it, if they bitch at me it's going down." It was not surprising that she had a lot of enemies. The people she liked were the people that shrugged off her cruelty and coldness. "Ha, we'll see." There was mischief in her smirk but she said nothing else.
She had been thoroughly unimpressed by the teacher's lounge upon acquiring the job but she'd grown accustomed to the place over the years. It was a place to get free coffee and to avoid the students that crowded the rest of the Academy. Good enough for her. Then again, some of her coworkers could be just as bad to be around as the students were. "Uh, excuse you," she said, a scowl touching her lips. "I am a teacher, or did you forget? I'll have you know that my coffee is fantastic." One of the professors didn't seem to think so, glaring at the sink where she'd poured the near-full pot of coffee with a mutter of "Such a waste." Rin didn't know whether she'd been meant to hear or not but she ignored him either way.

WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives It seemed the pair both loved themselves to the ends of the earth. Both of them together walking was like the example of what every perfect man and woman should look like. If someone disagreed, they were mistaken. Justin was pretty sure that he was the model of every person’s dream or fantasy. It just showed whenever he spoke and opened his mouth. That was one of the reasons he was such good friends with Rin. She really didn’t have that look in her eye. Justin liked the look in the eye, but when it came to his strictly friends, it always bothered him when they had that. It was a different relationship if the look was there. A deal he made similar to all of his friends with benefits. Good enough deal to have. ”My point. Though I think your feminine features would give it more away than your curves.” He challenged, giving a small smirk to himself.
Justin was able to pick an asshole out of the crowd rather easily, but it takes one to know one he supposed. In more of his humble times, he would have admitted that was among his biggest flaws. However, at this moment he believe his flaws didn’t exist. If anyone else thought differently, that was their problem. ”Maybe I should start meeting them. I’ll let you know.” He said with his ego spreading far and wide across the board, thinking he would be able to look at them and decide. Whether he would or not was up for debate, but as long as Justin thought he could, any steps could really be taken. Looking over at her and not being able but to chuckle lightly to himself. She did have a point. ”If I found one, I’d have one. None at the moment have my interest.” Justin was a pretty big snob when it came to picking things. He wanted the finest wine. The finest dine. The finest women. Was that too much to ask for a poor drama boy? That’s why on stage he was a bit of a diva. At her insult, he just chuckled.
Yeah, he saw her being the teacher to play favorites. It shocked him how much she seemed to dislike ill-behaved children and yet was a teacher. Being a teacher was like throwing yourself into the haven of the ill-behaved kids. Least she was going to be the one to teach them something in the end. It bothered him to no end when he was in a useless class. ”My speeches are beautiful.” He persisted, ”Do you like any of the children that walk into your class?” If she said no, he wouldn’t be completely surprised. It was what was expected, but all the same, she had to enjoy someone’s company. Probably not the one that was like her. She probably liked the ones that never talked and paid attention. That way they were like an invisible force to her. Justin wasn’t sure how one could possibly stay that attentive during class without saying a word. Whenever he wasn’t saying anything in class, he was taking a well needed nap. If it wasn’t well needed, he wouldn’t’ have fell asleep.
The mental image he was grasping from this was hysterical. The redhead just giving a running start and leaping. The snowman probably cushioning her so that she was basically running into a bouncy castle. That was one of Justin’s favorite things to do as a child. Just run into the thing and fall to the ground, laughing and feeling silly and childish. His father shaking his head but laughing along with him. The good days. He wasn’t sure what happened between all of that, but it seemed that Justin had to grow up sooner than expected. ”Oh come on, try me. You’ve already announced you’ve beat up on several people or things. What else has there been?” He asked curiously. Hearing about these experiences about anyone really got him excited. Sometimes the greatest stories came out of it. Justin would find it impossible for him to share all of his wonderful tales, but she was sure she could care less. Justin, however, was a curious little cat.
After all the student cracks, one would think that Rin would have been expecting a teacher crack to escape his lips. The greatest of enemies the pair would be in the classroom environment. ”How could I possibly forget?” He laughed with amusement. He would have pointed out the student thing, but the other professor in there might have had to do something about it. Justin was a lot of things, but knowing when to mouth off or not was one of his qualities. ”We’ll have to see.” He challenged, placing both of his hands behind his head as he saw the other professor mutter something under his breath. Perhaps the thing mentioned about keeping his mouth shut earlier didn’t apply to all cases. He didn’t particularly like having someone muttering under their breath. ”Excuse me sir?”

The redhead gave a snort, shaking her head. "I think you'll have more luck if you pull your head out your ass first so you don't go bumping into any walls." He really thought he was all that, didn't he? Not that she could talk. Her own attitude was half the reason she could tolerate other egomaniacs, the other half being that she didn't care. It was easy to irritate her but hard to push the buttons that truly mattered. She arched her brows, looking unimpressed. "Excuses, excuses." If he didn't have the hottest bitch on campus (besides herself) licking his shoes, she wasn't buying it.
Settling for playing deaf when he continued to toot his own horn, the drama teacher focused on the question instead. She was used to answering it by now—a lot of people were curious. "The rare few. Maybe one or two a year." Considering the amount of students she taught, it wasn't the most flattering of numbers. She viewed the majority as immature, lazy, unmotivated brats that took the class on the premise of an easy credit and that lacked any true passion for the subject she felt forced to teach. Even those that had a real talent for theatre had to work to impress her. They tended to be drama queens, the lot of them, and it took a special kind of student to win her over. "It's the idiots like you that make me want to kill myself. My retirement plan's a shotgun." It would come as a shock to some that two people so self-obsessed could get along like the two Winds did but Rin chalked it up to the fact that they understood each other in a way that most could not.
Rin looked contemplative as she shoved her hands into her pockets, her gloveless fingers like ice from the cold outside. She could tell him about the drama with her neighbours, or perhaps the fight she'd gotten into when she'd kicked a friend's dog for growling at and then taking a snap at her. She could fill him in on all the times she'd gotten on the wrong side of the law or the stuff she'd gotten up to on school grounds that a teacher shouldn't be doing. Where was the fun in that? "That's for me to know and you to wonder about." Passing him a too-sweet smirk, she pushed open the door to the staff room and revelled at the rush of warmth upon stepping inside. Though having Fire elementals around certainly helped, the wide halls of the castle were often chilled and drafty during the winter months.
Inhaling deep, Rin let out a long, exasperated breath as Justin called attention to himself. Digging her elbow into his ribs as subtly as she could, her jaw shifted as her coworker responded with a wary, "Who's your friend, Caterina?" The woman made a face at the use of her full name. As a long-time friend of hers, she was sure Justin knew how much she loathed it. "It's Rin," she corrected, "and he's shadowing." It was the first excuse that had popped into her head and thus she went with it. "Not that it's any of your business." There was a tension between the two that was unmistakable. Rin either liked you or she hated you and this man fell on the latter half of the spectrum. As a naturally vicious and confrontational person, it was hard for the redhead to keep her temper in check. Not here. At least she wasn't a Fire. He wasn't, either, from what she could recall. Water, maybe? He's certainly irritating enough.

WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives This wasn’t the first time that Justin had been accused of something simply because he didn’t have a girlfriend. He didn’t understand. Most of the time, a guy got huge shit for having a girlfriend because no matter what Justin liked to think- he was always whipped. Though he supposed the grief from not having one came from women, so perhaps it was just a gender difference. Justin had the bad habit of grouping and assuming from first impression of people. It didn’t help that about eighty percent of the time, he was correct on that theory. Whether it be because stereotypes were real or if he just got lucky, he was unsure. It didn’t matter to him as long as he appeared smart and like he knew what he was talking about. ”It’s a sign of desperation for me just to jump into a relationship for the sake of having one. Who would you recommend? Since you know most of the students.” Maybe not in his generation, but surely she would know more twenty year olds than him.
Yep, he figured as much. She answered if as if he would have asked her the color of her hair. He laughed to himself. No, wait, that wouldn’t be her response. More than likely, she would have probably looked at him and said to look at the color of hair himself. Well- then that was the response he’d get from most other people. But that was just it. That’s what made her such a good friend. Justin disliked the people that were exactly like all the others sitting in a row and smiling. He wanted the colorful characters. And lord knew that Rin was one of the most colorful characters on campus. There was never a boring moment with her. Not so far at least. That was a quality that would keep Justin coming back no matter what. Unless the entertaining part was making fun of him, which he didn’t really approve of. ”You say it as if I’m common. How offensive.” He told her, though joking, also not liking the prospective of being like everyone else. If anything, Justin really was a rare complicated piece, wasn’t he? ”I’m curious then. Why teaching? Can’t tell me it’s for the few that capture your heart.” He placed both hands on his heart as if being a dramatic drama queen. Which in many ways one might be able to categorize him in, but he thought of himself as a relatively calm person. It was hard for him to care about much.
Of course she wouldn’t tell him, and it was going to be his job to pry a little bit. Justin didn’t really like prying when it came to people like Rin. It just seemed wrong somehow. She knew it too. He made a very loud groan and titled his head up to the heavens as if he couldn’t believe he was hearing this at the moment. ”Oh come on. Bring that up and leave me with nothing? It’s cruel.” Must be a teacher thing. They just loved to drag people in and at the very last moment, turn and leave, snickering. Justin was sure that if he were a teacher, he’d be pretty terrible to his students just to have fun. He would become very bored, having to repeat lessons- teach the same thing every year with only so much updated information? It would be too much tedious work day after day having to deal with the people were who were basically the same. As much as he gave teacher’s a hard time, Justin could never do it. However, he also wouldn’t pick to at will. That was their fault, which brought him to his earlier question for her. It was a curious motion. What little Rin was thinking when she hit the college life in order to teach.
The teacher’s lounge apparently was always going to have someone in it. He should have figured that much. It also didn’t surprise him that Rin wouldn’t get along with one of her coworkers. She didn’t really like much of anyone, so watching her treat someone that way just made him amused. He acutally snickered softly to himself when he got the elbow in the ribs (half expecting it anyway). Justin wanted to open his mouth for something, but she beat him to it. Oh, he could have had so much fun with this. Surely she wouldn’t get fired over something as small as this, but of course, he also didn’t know how they worked. He looked over at Rin and wait until the man completely left and closed the door before laughing lightly, ”You have the most delightful coworkers.” Not even able to contain himself and laughing through his words. Again, why teaching? AND WE WOULD LAUGH AT ALL THE douchebag guys chasing down desperate wives

Letting go of things was not always easy for her. Oh, she could have dropped the subject a while ago and let him have his way, but where was the fun in that? The sense of victory? She liked winning as much as anyone with a bit of pride to their name and so she set her jaw. "Just a minute ago you were saying you'd be able to pick 'em out of a crowd. You telling me that was bullshit?" Then she scoffed, a look of disdain overtaking her features. "Besides, I'd sooner throw them all off the cliffs than see them in relationships. They already drive me mental, god knows what becomes of anyone that has to tolerate them on a day to day basis." Besides, she taught high schoolers, not college kids. She somehow doubted that Justin would want an irritating little niner hanging off his arm. If he did, she'd overestimated him.
He liked to believe that he was special, Justin did, and Rin wasn't in the business of feeding egos. Oh, they were friends, but that didn't mean she was going to hold out on him. Nah, why should he be spared her award-winning personality? "You're, ah... what's that saying?" She made sure to look him dead in the face as she smirked. "Common as muck." She took pleasure in the back and forth banter they shared. That was how friendship worked for her. How on Earth would she be able to simply be around someone without somehow putting them down or tossing out a few errant insults? Sensitive folks were, therefore, not her type.
The question was one of the few that could catch her off guard if asked by the wrong people, and as a friend, Justin was one of those people. Rin bristled internally, tensing for a moment and not looking at him so that he wouldn't see the look on her face. God damn it. Keep forgetting that I never told him. It wasn't surprising. She didn't tell a lot of people. Though the woman liked to pretend she had no shame and no regrets, there were a few wrong steps she'd certainly love to double back on. "Because I'm a masochist, why else would I teach?" It was a blatant lie but it was better than telling the truth. Because she was a failure and she'd given up on what she'd really wanted to do? That sounded pathetic. That sounded weak. Rin wasn't weak.
Glad to be on a different subject, she said, "You've known me for this long and you hadn't figured that out yet? How sad." Though she was only messing with her friend, anyone that could be around Rin for longer than an hour without recognising her true nature must be incredibly oblivious. She didn't make an effort to hide it.
Glaring down the back of her coworker, Rin pressed her lips together in irritation. "Don't I?" She hated the lot of them (well all right, most of them) and wished more than anything that she could be doing what she loved right now instead of what made her money. She refrained from making this comment to Justin, however, as it would mean revealing more about herself than she cared to tell. "He'll get over it. Feel free to raid the fridge, I'll cover for you. They won't question it... probably." She shrugged. She might get into a bit of trouble if they were caught but who really had the time to rat her out? She hoped none of the serious brown-nosers were around.
[Sorry for the abnormally long wait D: I only noticed you'd posted a short while ago!]

WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives Perhaps one of the reasons he was able to have a conversation with her without her biting off his head was because the pair were way more alike than they thought. People thought that all the drama kids were the same. That’s why sometimes they were surprised by Justin’s hobbies. However, it seemed that the irony came- two of them that were unlike most drama kids were alike. There was more types than outsiders really knew. All together at the end of the day, they would come together to perform. That was all that mattered. It wasn’t a matter of how they acted outside. In fact, most of the time, Justin could really care less what kind of person you were if you did your job. That was probably the only thing he put all of his effort into that wasn’t socializing work. Couldn’t be the best without working a little bit. ”No, I very well could pick them out of the crowd. You just seemed like you had a better suggestion that I wasn’t aware of.” Combat for everything. Without missing a beat. One of his many talents. ”Point taken. I was double checking.” Honestly, Justin wouldn’t set any of his friends up with her either. She’d probably beat the shit out of all of them.
Also, he wouldn’t have expected her to feed his ego. If she were one of those people, she would have been like most of the other people around him. Justin tended to surround himself who also thought highly of themselves or those that would boost his ego. Rini was just a special case all around the board, and she probably knew it. Or she didn’t know it, but wouldn’t have cared either way. ”Not even a little bit. You wouldn’t find someone like me within a hundred yards. Men close to being like me? Possibly, but there’s no comparison.” He didn’t believe other people were like him. Justin did understand there were many guys out there that tried to get women as he did, but the rest of it? No. All of those types had something different on their hands. He was a special kind of special. Which was once said to him, and even though he knew it meant to be an insult, one couldn’t deny how it could be twisted easily into his favor.
If it would have been anyone else, they probably wouldn’t have even noticed how much the question really tripped Rini up. Justin saw. He knew her too well. Yet, ironic in all that fact, since he really didn’t know the story behind it. Seemed like it was something the pair had a mutual thing not to talk about. Justin would be able to tell her anything, sure, but none of them really asked. He’d be glad to explain his dad’s death. Just as he was sure she might be able to spill to him if Justin ever did, but since the question was never asked, he never knew. It wasn’t something he liked to talk about. It wasn’t something she liked to talk about. Simple enough. In that moment, he did wonder. It seemed to really bother her. At her answer, it cracked a smile, but it didn’t keep any curiosity and concern from disappearing. ”I thought an accountant might have been a wiser choice. I suppose this is more interesting.” That was just strictly because Justin found number boring. That would be painful hours of your life wasted away.
She just loved the fact he wasn’t able to do very much about her not telling him. Justin huffed a little bit, not truly offended, but pretending to be. Not wanting to come off too awful sassy, he perched his eyebrow, ”Well you can see why. The numbers and possibilities could be endless.” One of the wonderful things about her. Predictable and knowing although she was an open book became rather boring. Everyone that even heard of Justin knew how he felt on things that were boring. Going, going, going, gone. Wouldn’t even stick around to see if it got interesting. Probably also one of the reasons he didn’t like romance novels. All of them had too many slow parts of staring into each other’s eyes or some madness. Only edge of seat things were worthy of his time.
At the mention of food, he did indeed raid the fridge. As it seemed, her co-workers weren’t the biggest fan of her anyway, so it really didn’t matter if he took anything or not. He did take the advantage and grabbed the thing that looked tasty. It wasn’t as if he exactly had time to taste every one and find which one he wanted. The thought of that actually made him make a face. ”Ah, I doubt it. With the size of the guy that just walked by, I’m sure you could convince him he already ate it.” What? Justin was judgmental, sue him. It was in all aspects, especially those that people were probably most sensitive about. AND WE WOULD LAUGH AT ALL THE douchebag guys chasing down desperate wives
