Well, I'm sorry to hear that! But at least the glory of roleplay is that there are tons of sites to choose from that will suit what you're looking for. Some people like certain forms of roleplay, and others don't. It doesn't make it any less fun, it's just not your preference. Good luck in the search~

So you consider it restricted that we won't let you play prodigious characters or those that are completely different from what the role-play allows? In all fairness, the character you originally wanted to play had no place on an elemental forum where they control elements. That's not restricting, that's what the site is all about.
From an objective standpoint I can understand the desire to play a character that has strengths that outmatch that of other characters but we don't allow that here because it's too easily power-played and held over the heads of others. It takes the fun that you seem so concerned about out of the RP for everyone else when someone is allowed to play an overpowered character.
There's a difference between not allowing creativity and not allowing a member to do whatever they want. We first stopped you from creating a character with an affinity for understanding animals because that's not a part of the Academy. That's not restricting in my opinion, as it makes perfect sense. Then we asked that you change the fact that your character was apparently "skilled in everything that she does" because that's far too broad in spectrum. You also wanted a late-starter (who are always weaker than their peers because they started late) who was apparently so above her peers that she was offered to skip a grade. That's impossible at the Academy, we deny any person who tries to get away with it.
Nevertheless, good luck with your search. The Academy has done perfectly well for itself with the rules that it has and while we're sorry they're not for you, they've always worked for us.

i'm sorry that you didn't find what you're looking for. however, it's insulting to say that we don't encourage "creativity" or that we are "unyielding". we have a lot of that here, because our members are very creatives people, but we also have rules for the world that we've created. and we also follow the rules of realism. and having a character who is apparently crazy without any mental illnesses is simply not realistic in any aspect, nor is having a very advanced character when she both discovered her powers late and arrived late to the school. creativity means being able to use the world that we have created for roleplay and molding a character from it. if you would like to have a character with a psychic connection to animals, then there certainly is a roleplay out there for you which includes that in its world. this isn't one of those worlds.
again, i apologize that we are apparently not good enough for you, however this is taylor's brain child, and just like any author would she has thought out everything that goes into the elementals and their existence. and i, for one, find it really fun to have a character in this world playing by the rules that this world has. that's the fun of roleplay, entering a different realm from the one you live in. however, i hope you find something that better suits your needs. and good luck.
