Takeru grabbed his stuff on his way out of the Music and Video store. He technically would have had another hour to go but being that he didn't take his lunch hour as to cover for one of his coworkers. Takeru didn't mind it. He was able to eat some energy bars to keep him satisfied for the time being. Now though he got to technically leave an hour earlier. First stop, get some real food. His brother wasn't going to be home and he was really lazy to go home and cook something so the next best thing would be too just buy some food. Burger King was the closet so it was really a no brainer.
The walk wasn't long. The streets were bustling then again it was a Saturday night so it made sense. If it weren't for the fact that he just got off of work he'd probably be out too, especially since times have changed recently. He walked into the place and got in line. He was taking this home since he was rather tired. He texted Matt and asked if he was up for some food. They hadn't gotten the chance to talk in a while. Both them being busy with other responsibilities. He got the front of the line and placed his order. Didn't take long. He paid, got his food and was out the door. The apartment complex that both of them lived in wasn't far so it was a easy walk. The air was chill and the night was cool. The stars were beautiful in the sky.
Takeru walked up the stairs and walked straight towards the Chang's door. He knocked a few times and just waited for Matt.

Matt had been on the way home from his university when Takeru texted him with offers of food, and he agreed readily for a variety of reasons. One, driving and texting was probably a bad idea even though he managed it just fine. Two, he was hungry. Three, his paycheck would be deposited tomorrow into his bank account and he really had no groceries at home to cook anything. He wasn't sure where Sandra was -- probably out with Devin or something, but even then, they usually did their own things on the weekends anyway. It gave Matt a bit of a break from having to cook, and also gave Sandra some freedom since they both tended to spend weekdays lounging around. For Matthew, it was mostly because he had to wake up early and drive to school. For Sandra...she was probably just sleepy or something.
He had been home not ten minutes when there was a knock on the door and, assuming it was Takeru, he merely pulled the door open, not bothering to check out who it was first. "Hey man," Matthew said, smiling -- he hadn't seen Takeru in quite a bit, though it was just a byproduct of being so busy all the time, even despite them living in the same apartment building. "Thanks for bringing food! How much do I owe you?"
Matthew gestured to the Burger King bags in Takeru's hands after he shut the door, taking the drink tray off his friend's hands, trading it for a few napkins. His stomach growled -- he hadn't had fast food in a long time, and he usually shied away from it, but sometimes his stomach just wanted it. Once in awhile couldn't hurt, right? "Pop a squat, tell me what's been going on? I haven't seen you in like, two months or something ridiculous." Had it really been two months? Actually, it might have been more than that, considering Matt was in Japan for the summer and had only come back a week before his classes started, and he had spent that week cleaning the dust off the apartment and picking up after Sandra, as she had been here by herself since classes at the Academy started earlier than his own. So maybe it was more than two months. Crazy.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Takeru didn't eat out on a daily basis. A dancer couldn't be eating fast food all the time after all. It was just days like these where he was just too tired to make something and thus just caved in. He didn't do this often and he'd work off the calories later so in his eyes it was okay and it was his turn to cook dinner which always resulted in something healthy. At least the majority of time.
Takeru didn't have to wait long before the door swung open and there was Matt, Takeru's best friend since forever. "Yo." He said with a smile and small two finger salute. Takeru walked into the familiar apartment. It had been a long while since he and Matt had just hung out. They had both been busy with school and with the difference in school schedule it wasn't like they could see each other whenever they wanted at the Academy. On top of that Takeru had his job so despite living in the same complex they didn't have the luxury of seeing each other whenever they wanted. So the fact that Matt had accepted Takeru's offer was great. "No worries dude. This one's my treat." he said as he handed over the drinks and took the napkins.
Takeru took a seat next to Matt. "Something like that. It has been forever." he said. "Life's been the same. Well, sort of." he said softly. Takeru's summer had taken an interesting turn. It had definitely been something he hadn't expected to happen but was overjoyed that it did. "but first how was your trip? I haven't been to Japan in ages." Although he and his brother were born in Maple Hallow most of their relatives were in Japan but he hadn't visited them in forever. "By the way, I haven't had a chance to ask. How are things with Shakespear girl?" The last time Matt and Takeru had a real chance to talk Matt had just gotten a date with some girl from one of his classes. Takeru never got the chance to ask how things were going between them.
