Sugar we're goin' down
Summer time. Normally this was Andrew's least favorite time of year, crazy right? Any other kid his age would love summer time, no classes, no homework, no responsibility for three solid months. Awesome! Not for Andy. Summer meant going home, which was bitter sweet for him, because when he went home he had to be his father's golden boy. Work hard, be respectful, be all up tight like he'd been raised to be. Everything that he'd grown to hate in his time at the academy. Here he was allowed to cut lose and be himself, and not have to worry about his strict father breathing down his neck every hour of the day. Or at least that was his usual feelings toward summer break, this year was different. He'd gotten a call a week before break had started saying that his mom and dad were going to be taking vacation, which meant that Andy didn't have to go home. He was defiantly going to be doing some hard core breaking in of his new apartment, but first, a summer job.
Andy sat up in the little bungalow that had been built for the life guards of the lakeside beach. He kicked the metal chair back on it's back legs and put his feet up on the rail in front of him. This job was gonna be sweet, and easy! For one, he got to stare at half naked chicks all day, and two he got to save them if they drown. A huge smile crept over his lips at the thought, but he was quickly brought back down to earth at the sight of the rather large man lumbering down the beach toward one of the big umbrellas that were set out for people to use. His smile faded and he shook his head a little, not wanting the thought of that man floundering around in the water needing saved to even cross his mind more then it already had. Yep, this is gonna be a fuckin sweet job. He thought to himself as his eyes scanned the beach from behind his sun glasses.
It was only his first day on the job and already he was a little more comfortable then he probably should have been. And he probably shouldn't have been just sitting in the look out lazing about like he didn't have a care in the world, or if he was going to he should have at least been paying attention. Propst! He knew that voice, even though he'd only heard it for the first time this morning. It belonged to Pam Armstrong, a rather unpleasant, and very tall woman. She was also his boss, and already he couldn't stand her. She stomped up the ramp at the back of the bungalow and Andy just rolled his eyes and waited for the verbal lashing he knew was to come. So you think you're just here to sit around and gawk at the pretty girls huh?! She slapped his feet off of the railing which made the chair fall forward back onto all four legs. He glared up at her, but somehow was able to keep his mouth shut. Get up off your lazy ass, get on that ATV and go patrol that beach! She took her job, and his, very seriously apparently. But he didn't complain, it would get him away from her.
As soon as he stood up she sat down in the little metal chair, it creaked and groaned under her weight and he just shook his head as he grabbed the life preserver and jogged down the ramp to the 4-wheeler that was parked behind the life guard station. He turned on the key and pushed the button to start the machine and with his right knee on the seat under him he took off down the beach, careful to fling as much sand as possible up at Mrs. Armstrong. He laughed and glanced back at her to see her shaking her fist and calling out his name, though he couldn't hear it over the engine beneath him. Now all he had to do was look hot as fuck riding around on this thing, yeah, he could handle that.

She felt like it was her fault that they hated her, and if she could, she could stop controlling plants and dirt and stuff like that, all to go back to making her mom and dad happy again. But after a few years of thinking about it, she realized that the way to make them happy was to not see them again. There was simply nothing she could do but that, so that’s what she did, even during the breaks she had off from school. It made her feel lonely to be one of the few that stayed in the academy while everyone else was off with their families, but Ella had thought of a few positives, as Ella always did. One of them was that she was able to explore the town of Maple Hollow.
Exploring was something that her parents had strictly forbade her to do and prevented her from doing so. But now she was sort of her own boss, and that feeling of independence was both relieving and scary at the same time. Stella knew that she didn’t know much about the world, so she didn’t know what she would expect every time she went out into Maple Hollow. Ella carried a beach umbrella and a backpack with a few things in it: sunblock, a water bottle, a sandwich, her cell phone and a towel. She was heading toward the beach on this lovely summer day to just relax by the water and maybe play around in it a little bit. She wouldn’t go too deep, because one of the many things Ella lacked to know was the ability to swim.
The blonde go to the beach and automatically felt very awkward about her appearance. All the girls here were in bikinis and running around with friends or family. She looked down at herself, in a one piece bathing suit hidden by a flowery sun dress that covered most of her thighs. Sometimes she wished to fit in, but she knew she would feel bad if she started revealing more skin for that sole purpose. Stella found a nice place a little ways away from the lifeguard tower, where some guy was hanging out like her owned the place. It made her feel creeped out to be watched from someone who ust have had a lot of authority to have that attitude. She placed her towel down on the sand, and put her back pack on top of the towel. Now was the umbrella.
It was one of her friend’s umbrella, because hers broke last summer when someone had been playing volleyball and it got stuck by a rogue ball. So when Ella went to open the umbrella, she didn’t know that she would have to battle it to get it to merely open. She pressed the buttons that felt like they were purposely resisting her push and tried to push it open, but the thing would not budge. ”Come on, umbrella, please?” she begged, but the thing was so stubborn and wouldn’t budge. She pushed really hard and it finally open, which gave her a bright smile of relief. However, that was short lived- the umbrella closed up again, this time engulfing her arm. ”Ow! Ah ah!” she gasped, waving her arms, including the one the umbrella was eating, around in pain.

Sugar we're goin' down
Andy had made his patrol across the beach, riding from one end to the other on the ATV with little to no excitement. This was defiantly the job for him, it didn't seem like he'd ever have to actually do anything. Which he could totally live with. As he rounded a corner heading back to his life guard post he squinted his eyes to peek ahead and see if the bitch was still stalking his post. A deep sigh of releaf escaped him when he was sure he didn't see her there. Even though it was only his first day working with his new boss, he hated her already. Who did that whale think she was anyway? Talking to him like he was some sort of little kid. He parked the ATV and walked up the ramp, hanging his life preserver over the rail before he sat himself down. He scanned the beach lazily and began to day dream. It had been weeks sense that party where he'd met that bombshell of a girl and for the life of him he hadn't been able to get her out of his head, and that was extremely annoying. Normally he would have been lounging in this chair eyeballing every hot pair of legs that walked past him, and flirting back when the girls flashed their pretty smiles. He was finding that difficult to do today, because of that girl.
Something caught the corner of his eye rather quickly, though, as he was just getting himself comfortable in the hard plastic chair. It was a good bit away from his post but he could swear he saw an umbrella waving around off in the distance. What the hell?.. |
He stood up, turned around and grabbed the binoculars, then looked through them back in the direction of the waving umbrella. Through them he saw what was causing the comotion, a pretty little blond with what looked like an umbrella attached to her arm. Andy burst out laughing as he looked on through the binoculars. What the hell is she doing? It never occurred to him that she might be having a problem putting up the big umbrella, it wasn't rocket science to put those things up after all. Right? He strolled back down the ramp and stopped when his bare feet hit the hot sand. Glancing around to make sure it was safe to leave his post, he began to stroll down the beach toward the damsel in distress. Every now and then he would stop when he spotted someone he knew or when some girl in a barely there bikini called him over to rub sun lotion on her back. God I love this job.. Finally after several minutes he made it over to where the girl was fighting with her umbrella. He looked her over quickly, she looked vaguely familiar. Not from seeing her on the beach but somewhere else, school or around town maybe, defiantly not a party though. She didn't look much like a party girl, what with her one piece suit and innocent face. He crossed his muscular arms over his broad chest and simply watched for a minute, wondering if she'd notice him standing here and fighting off the urge to start laughing again. After a minute or two he cleared his throat a bit to get her attention. Having some trouble there? As he spoke a wide grin spread over his handsome face and he couldn't stop the little chuckle that crept out with his words.
