Anna certainly loved spending time at the park. It was a nice, quiet place full of solitude. Perfect to get in a bit of guitar practice. It wasn't that she was shy to play in front of other people - she couldn't be, of course. She had a demo out, even. It never really made it big, but it was out there floating around somewhere. She was majoring in music in college, and she hoped to make it a career someday. To be able to pay the bills on nothing but what she loved. Music and art. It was pretty much her life, really. Actually, not even pretty much. Music, art, and literature was her life. And she wasn't really good at much else in school. She was good at math until the alphabet decided to mix it's way in there. She didn't even get anywhere past algebra two.
She was sitting in a part of the park that wasn't very populated, with her acoustic guitar on her lap. She really only played acoustic, she didn't like playing electric that much. She didn't like the sound of it. But she was more laid back and almost.. hippie like. She wasn't really a hippie at all, just the way she looked at life and music was. She preferred the older music over any of the modern day music. She couldn't really stand rap at all. She couldn't see how people considered Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj to even be music. It was more like people who wanted to scream to be famous. She wanted to bring back the older style of music - back to a more modern day audiance. That was the kind of music she tried to play. However, there where some songs that she enjoyed in the more modern era. But they all had a similar style.
For example, today - while she was tuning her guitar, she decided on playing something simple. Wonderwall by Oasis was a pretty well known tune to people nowadays, and the guitar was easy to remember. She could play just about anything that was thrown at her, but she wanted to start out with something easy. Once her guitar was tuned, she started strumming the chords. After a moment she started to quietly sing the lyrics. She knew she was a good singer, so it wasn't like she was shy, but she didn't want to disrupt the peace aronud her. People probably wouldn't be real happy about that. Once she started playing though, she sort of got lost and didn't really notice anything around her.

"go do something far away," yeager told his sister, and she gave him a dirty look before walking away. why did his parents treat her like a child that still needed someone to look after her? she was a teenager, in fucking high school. and then he remembered that she might be in need of some help on a professional level. it was never a good idea to leave her unsupervised. maybe, though, he was just letting his paranoia take over. was she this bad with other people? probably not. but he did imagine that she was dealing drugs at her high school by now, maybe her grandmother's pot. he had never done that, but then again, she was smarter than him in evil ways and would be one to do that.
he decided to take a walk, hands in his pockets. he was glad that it was finally spring, finally warming up before summer came. it still felt like a far way off, even though it was already may. he just wanted to be able to swim and play and do all those wonderful water elemental things. he also wanted break, because school was just a pain in his ass. he was doing better this year than he had last, at least, but he was still not putting in as much effort as he should, which was something his fathers would complain about.
he heard the familiar cords of a song that everyone on god green's earth should know, and noticed he was coming up to the very familiar player. lieanna. she was an earth girl, in college, all grown up and shit. but they were friends, and so he was not shy at all when approaching to join in. "maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me, because after all you're my wonderwall..." he sang rather obnoxiously. he did not have as good a voice as lieanna, so the only way he was going to get away with singing was if he did it ridiculously.
yeager plopped down next to her. "hey, i think we should get a band together. do oasis covers. you know how to play champagne supernova?" this, of course, led him into another lovely musical rendition. "where were you when we were getting high?" he looked at her with a charming smile, ever the jokester. maybe he should feel a bit bad about crashing her solo party, but that was another question. why was she out her playing all by her lonesome. "did you get ditched by the boyfriend you were serenading?" he joked, actually wondering if she had a boyfriend or not. wonderwall would be the perfect song to serenade him with.

Anna wasn't unsocial. No, like a lot of earths, she was social. Just maybe not so much as some of the waters. She was a pretty friendly person though. So it didn't really shock her that much when she heard a voice - a familiar voice - singing rather obnoxiously. She kept playing until she saw Yeager plop down next to her, and stopped singing, placing her fingers across the frets of her guitar to stop the sound. "Wonderful idea. You are a gorgeous singer. And of course I know champagne supernova. Who doesn't?" She said, with a small eye roll, and a smirk. Oasis was one of her favorite bands, so she knew just about every one of there songs by heart.
"Slowly walking down the hall." She almost sang back to him. It had actually been quite a while since she had spent time with Yeager. She saw him around school occasionally but it didn't seem like she saw him quite as much since she graduated. College was a whole new level of stress. But she figured it was worth it. Her parents weren't happy about her major, but she figured they would get over it. At his next question she nodded dramatically. "Oh yeah. My non exsistant boyfriend and all." She smiled at him a little bit. It wasn't a huge deal to her. She never really spent time looking for a boyfriend. She didnt' feel the need to. If somebody came along they would come along. In the meantime, she had all of her guy friends - who seemed to all be getting girlfriends - to keep her busy.
She leaned back against the tree, running her fingers along the steel strings of the guitar. "So what are you doing out here this fine, fine day?" She asked, looking over at him. "Besides showing off your wonderful singing voice, of course." She smirked at him a little. She wouldn't doubt he could probably be a good singer if he tried, but his obnoxious singing a few moments ago could hardly count as something people would pay money to see. Unless, you know, it was in a play or something.

yeager rolled his eyes up like a modest 40's actress, or at the very least Bill Cosby. yeah, he couldn't sing, but that didn't stop him from doing it. "thanks, means a lot," he said, and he actually didn't sound sarcastic. because he did sarcasm without the sarcastic tone of voice, and that could sometimes be confusing. well, whoops. "i don't know, someone not born in the nineties?" was that a nineties song? he wasn't too sure. it might have been in the early millennium. he just wasn't good with keeping track of songs and years, but he figured that anna would be better with al her musical talent and appreciation.
"faster than a cannonball," he went on, laughing a little afterward. "you should teach me how to sing. i feel like i have it in me, i just need to figure out how to utilize it." he was only half joking. it would be interesting to learn how to sing, he just didn't know how good he would be at it. he'd already proven that he wasn't very good with it now. "sucks, bro. non-existent boyfriend didn't deserve you anyway." he patted her arm as if to pretend console her for the loss of the boyfriend that never was. he had been stunningly free of relationships lately. he did do the whole one-night stand thing, but he usually found himself hooking up with girls for longer than that. even still, they ended. he didn't get too bitter about it.
he watched as she ran her fingers along the guitar, before thinking how much of the truth he should tell her. "weelll... i ditched my sister. she's probably off hanging small animals from trees or picking fights with biker gangs. one of the two." his little sister was badass and kind of frightening, but he was chill with whatever she did as long as he did not get injured as a result. he would like to live to the age of thirty, but she seemed deadset on preventing that from ever happening. "here, here, give me the guitar, i wanna see if i can play something." a lot of people were rather possessive of their belongings, but he wasn't going to go jimmi hendrix on it and set it on fire. he didn't even have a lighter on him, so he was completely safe.

Lieanna was not horrible sarcastic. She had her moments, but didn't everybody? It wasn't like everything that she said was sarcastic, but when she was sarcastic it was evident. Unlike Yeager, who she knew was being sarcastic, but his voice tone surely enough did not suggest that. But hey, that made it all the more worth while didn't it? The point of being a sarcastic jerk sometimes was just to confuse people. Find out how stupid they really where. "Well it's still a pretty popular song. I hear it on the radio sometimes." She mused. But of course, half the radio stations she listed to, nobody else probably listened to. But she was okay with that. She didn't really care about what people thought of her, though. She was just unique.
Anna laughed a little as he continued on with the song, and rolled her eyes. "Teach you how to sing?" She said, raising an eyebrow. She couldn't tell if he was being serious or not. "Well, if you're serious, I wouldn't mind. I bet you could be an awesome singer." She said, smiling brightly at him. She hadn't ever taught somebody how to sing before, so it would be a bit different. But she wouldn't turn him down. That would be like turning somebody down for guitar lessons. Those she had done before, but never singing lessons. It was harder to teach somebody to actually sing well than to play guitar she thought, though. It was a lot different than just belting out lyrics and praying that they sounded well. "Aww. You're too sweet." She said, laughing a little. Anna hadn't really had many relationships lately, but it wasn't like she went around hooking up with random guys either. She had met a few guys she had been interested in, but never really acted on anything. She could be a flirt, but she wasn't a huge flirt.
"Oh, well that sounds exciting." She said, almost dryly. She hadn't really heard about his sister before, but she was now assuming she was a little different. What she did know of his family though, they all seemed a little different. Not that anybody was exactly normal, but some people where just a little bit further outside the spectrum. "Picking fights with biker gangs sounds like the funner thing in that situation, though. I mean, maybe she'll light their bar on fire or something." She laughed a little, thinking back to a movie she had seen recently. Wild Hogs was the name of it, and his comment had made him think of it. The way her brain worked, nobody would really ever know. As he asked for guitar, she looked over at him slowly, raising an eyebrow. She never let anybody touch her guitar. "If I let you see this, know that if you scratch it, you will fix it." She said, eyeing him carefully for a moment, before sliding it over to him. It felt like she was handing her baby over to somebody else.

Yeager scratched the back of his head, smirking a bit at her reply. She was just too nice, wasn't she? ”well yeah, I am serious, but the question is how does someone go about teaching another person ot sing?” he never really got what the whole vocal training shebang was, and never did choir. He had enough gay rumors circulating about him, he didn't want to encourage them. Actually, that wasn't the reason he didn't do choir. He didn't care what other people thought of him. He just didn't have an interest in synchronized singing. Yeager snorted at her cooing. ”like fucking sugar,” he agreed, though one could argue against that with that mouth. he wasn't a complete gentleman all the time, but he did have his kindness at heart. somewhere underneath the jerky exterior. but it was there!
Yeager nodded his head slowly at her words. His sister was a little bit psycho. Or rather, she was a lot of psycho rolled up into a tiny, dark-skinned package. Looking at the two of them, you wouldn't guess that they were siblings thanks to her being adopted. They still behaved like siblings. Oh, did they act like siblings. "probably," he agreed calmly, as if completely sure that his younger sister would do that. because he was just half-joking. the other half, not so much. "then she'd beat all of them up. she's kind of kick ass." at least he could be proud of her, too, and not only bitch about the girl all the time. she hadn't done anything too bad as of late, so he was giving her a little break. he gave her his best smile, which actually wasn't the usual goofy grin. "i love you?" and it seemed he charmed his way into letting her hold the instrument, which he was very careful with, because he wasn't a complete asshole all the time. he respected other people's things because he knew how much he hated it when people didn't respect his.
He strummed his fingers in what was a surprisingly good cord progression once he placed it in his lap. But it fell flat when he actually did try to play. ”lieanna, you are so awesome-anna,” he crooned, lightly running his fingernails over the strings without any rhyme or reason. ”and you're in a park-anna....oh lieanna!” with another strum, he was finished his beautiful song, and he bowed his head for a moment. ”song and lyrics by elliot yeager.” he gently handed the guitar back to his friend with a silly grin on his face. nope, no damage, just him being the dumbass he usually was. but it was completely endearing, in good ol' yeager fashion. ”so how was that? Great right?” he got all the girls with his guitar skills. In all honesty, he wouldn't try to seduce a girl with the guitar. It was too cliché, douche bag stereotype.

Anna blinked a few times, trying to figure out the answer to his question, herself. She really didn't know. "Well uhm. I imagine it would just be building on your strengths. Focusing on improving your strengths, rather than your weaknesses." That sounded about right. She had taken vocal coaching for quite a few years, but it was pretty much just voice exercised. Learning how to use the different ranges of her voice. But as Yeager was a male, he wasn't going to have to access the higher pitched parts of his vocal range - which he probably didn't have. "Oh yeah, just like sugar. Better not get water on you or you might melt." She said, smirking at him a bit more. He was a sweet guy, but their sarcasm could be shared.
Anna was somewhat thankful not to have any siblings. It did get lonely sometimes, though. She wished she had somebody to share all of her rants and ramblings with when she was growing up. But some siblings where better than others, she supposed. "Well at least a kick ass sibling is better than a boring sibling, right?" She said, smiling brightly for a minute. "I don't have any siblings so you should count yourself lucky. At least she's entertaining." But on the plus side for her, she did grow up kind of spoiled. She imagined if she would have had siblings her parents wouldn't have been so willing to spend all that money on her musical career. Well, her musical 'career' wasn't really taking off yet, but it would someday. "Well okayyy." She said, smirking a little at his proclamation of his love for her - even if it was just a joke, a ploy to get her guitar. She could trust him with it she figured.
And then he started strumming, and at first sounded okay, but the fact that none of the notes he was hitting seemed to be discovered chords, made he want to immediatly start teaching him how to play. But then he started singing, and a smile crossed her face. He wasn't a professional, that was for sure, but the gesture was pretty much adorable. At the end of it, she clapped her hands together a few times and smiled. "Beautiful. I love it." She did, actually. The thought was pretty awesome, even if it was all last minute. "You should write it down and get that published. I bet it would be a big hit." She took her guitar back from him and placed it on her lap, resting her arms gently over the top of it, and leaning back against the tree again. "So do you wanna do something? Or just sit here and watch squirrels?" She said, her eye catching a squirrel scrambling around for some kind of nut she assumed. She looked over at him and smiled. "I really don't care either way, but I don't want you to be bored. And I can be kind of.. boring."

Yeager thought about his friend's words. His strengths certainly did not lay in the creative arts. They resided in sciences, and logic, and being infinitely lazy. Music was something he enjoyed, but having no real passion for it, he knew that he would not be one of the people who used it to make something great. ”My strengths are being awesome, so I think I'm off to a stellar start,”
|
[/color] he said, not being able to take anything seriously for long. It was likea calling card for him, the inability to remain serious in any situation. He pretended to blush when she complimented his sweetness, covering his face with his hands. Dropping them, he said, ”I just can't help it, I'm too cute.” Yeager didn't even think he was cute because he was too...annoying? He'd go with annoying. He was much too annoying to be considered adorable. But Lieanna seemed just fine with him, as she should be. They had a puzzle-pieces personality, ones that clicked together and matched. Always trying to make a situation sound better, like most people who he bitched too, she offered what may have been the glass half full outlook. This girl did not know his little sister very well, so there was that. ”I don't know, I think I would like her more if she kind of just sat around and did nothing.” He thought that's what every sibling wished for. He didn't know whether Lieanna had siblings or not. It may have been a kind of situation where she'd told him and he'd simply forgot. No one was perfect, and little details like that often had to be reminded of. Luckily she did remind him, and it turned out that she didn't have any. ”Half the time I don't consider myself so lucky. She attempted murder, you know. That's not okay.” It was stated with his usual sarcastic drawl, but it was true. Of course, she probably didn't think she would actually kill him, but it made him wonder. He would have been much safer had his parents decided not to adopt. Yeager was glad that he wheedled the guitar away from her, even if it may have been reluctantly. With what he was going to do, there was no way he could break the thing. Though it could be disrespectful to take someone's instrument and play such a craptastic song. All in good fun. It was nice to have a compliment from her, and he smiled, a genuine expression. At her comment, though, he had to snort. ”I don't know, I think I want to keep that one between us. I'm not gonna capitalize on my art, yanno.” His art, like he had any of it. What he wanted to be was an engineer, something that sounded strange coming from the mouth of a five year old playing with legos. But that's how it happened. She took the guitar from him which he supposed was a good thing. Never knew what could happen with that in his hands. ”Hey, I like squirrels. They're very...squirrely.” Yeager leaned back and observed them. He was chill with squirrels, pretty much because they were not moths. That's the real problem. The boy swiveled his head toward her, a look of shock on his features. ”Lieanna Carver, please, if I was bored, you'd know. Because I'd tell you.” That was true enough. ”Well, we can go to the playground at the entrance. As long as Gloria hasn't found her way there.” He didn't want to deal with her more than he had to. Yeager had a bit of an ego, but that didn't bother her. She had one too, so it wasn't like she could just go be a hypocrite about it. "Perfect. That's where I started too! Been awesome since I wore nothing but diapers and ran around naked all day." Which she didn't make a habit of, anyways. Not since she was like, a baby. Which was the time she was referring to. Being awesome was a great quality in her minds. And she got along well with Yeager, so they could joke around like that and not have trouble. "Yes, totally adorable." She said, smiling a little bit, before flipping her her. "Almost as cute as me."
She really wasn't that conceited, nor did she think she was that cute, or pretty, or anything of that nature. But that didn't mean she couldn't joke about it. " But then she wouldn't be her. You know you love her in some way, shape, or form. At least for entertainment purposes, right?" Anna was an only child so she figured she probably didn't really have much of a say in that. But hey, she knew if she had a sibling, she wouldn't want them to be as... evil, as Yeagers. His adopted sister kind of sounded like the kind of person who tortured kittens because she thought it was fun. That thought made Anna shiver in her mind a bit, and shake her head. "Murder huh? Well, that's never good. Maybe she should be locked up!" Anna said, joking. She figured he was joking, after all. Didn't take it seriously.
One of the best qualities Anna found in somebody was their ability to make her laugh. She wasn't one of those girls who fell for anybody, though. But being able to make her laugh was the most important thing to her. She wasn't shallow, and she knew how to look past looks. Though Yeager wasn't a bad looking guy, either, though. " Alright. Just between us. It'll be our little song, then." She said, smiling at him. Anna knew everybody had their own dreams, and she wasn't one to judge about anything. Her art and her music was all she had going for her, she imagined. She wasn't that smart. She enjoyed writing poetry but that was about it outside of drawing and singing. "Squirrels are pretty squirrely, I suppose." She said, nodding, keeping her expression fairly serious. At his next comment she was almost shocked at his tone and turned around to look at him. "Okay, okay." She said, smiling a little and putting her hands up. "Let's go then. I'll race you." She said, hopping up to her feet and raising an eyebrow at him.

So the diaper thing definitely was not attractive but it did not stop Yeager's mind from straying. He didn't grin or give any other sign, but he did say, "And I wasn't around for the beginning of your awesomeness? Damn." He did think the girl was pretty awesome, but he held all his friends in high esteem. Even when he made jabs, they knew that he loved them no matter what. He stuck with them, supported him when they were needed. He liked to think he was a strong guy and someone to come to when there was a need for a shoulder to cry on. He did grin when she flipped her hair though. "Oh man, I've got some competition." Then he lowered his voice to a serious near-whisper. "But not if I kill you." Like Yeager could kill anyone. He was actually a softie. Like a teddy bear, actually.
Yeager blinked at the girl, fake serious, as per usual. He didn't know if a serious word ever left his mouth, if that was even possible. He didn't think so. "She tried to murder me," he said calmly. "I think that's just past the limit of what is okay." Of course he still loved her, and if Anna didn't think so then she didn't know him well at all. He loved all his family, he was a family kind of dude, and he knew that if his sister was in trouble he'd help her. That was the thing, though, she looked for trouble, all the time. When the Earth said his sister should be locked up, Yeager lifted his head in an acknowledging sort of nod. "That is a really good idea actually. Maybe reform school, at the least. Might be good for her." She really was a little devil. Anyone who met her might not be able to say the same because she usually targeted him, but it was true. He had a feeling she was going to turn out to be the worst kind of high school. And yes, he was worried about her, but he knew he couldn't change her. She'd proven that long ago.
He gave her a small little smile, one of his 'I know I'm cute and you want to do bad things to me smile'. Maybe cocky would be a better word to attribute that too, actually. "Best conversation ever," he said when Anna agreed with him about squirrels being squirrely. "I'm pretty sure this is how it went down at the Geneva Convention." Some of his hidden smarts shined through with aside references like that. Yeager certainly didn't seem smart with how much he slack in school but his brain was there. He just didn't like to put the effort in, and that's what English teachers would call his fatal flaw. Not that he listened much to his English teachers, either. It was actually one of his worst subjects. He stood, leaning from side to side and cracking his back. The boy nodded as he listened to his friend speak. "I don't know if I feel up for that, kind of a--" He stopped there and bolted, running as fast as he could toward the playground he parted ways from his sister at. He sat on a swing when he got there, rocking back and forth with a wide grin on his face.
