When Pacey was bored, he tended to wander. When he wandered... well, he tended to get bored again, wandering around by himself like that. It wasn't really a very productive way to get through life in the slightest, but he always did as he liked. Pacey was like that. Right now, he was extremely bored, and so he was wandering. Well really, he was putting off doing some homework, but he would get around to it later or something -- just after dinner, he decided. For now, classes were over for the day but he didn't want to do anything else. He had an essay due in a week... All his notes were together already. It was doing the actual writing that'd be a problem, because he really was pretty bad with words, but hopefully it wouldn't come out so terrible. He would start that tonight if he got through with all his other homeowrk. Oh, the woes of a student, they were so... so woeful. No... Pacey knew that it wasn't really that terrible.
The sky was light outside still, a sure mark that winter was over -- winter was always very long here in the mountains -- and that spring was well upon them and summer... hopefully approaching. He liked summer. There were no classes, no obligations! All he had to do all day was sleep and eat and play video games and go out with his friends, and that was always a very nice thing. Pacey sighed. It was May, but not summer yet. He had time yet to wait... and he wasn't sure he liked that too much. He wanted to go see his parents again -- though he'd gotten used to the Academy for sure in the time he'd been there and he really did love it, there was something about home that was very different. For now though, he didn't think about this, just wandered the hallways at random. There were a couple of people about, but nobody that he really recognized, or at least no one he spoke to often. That was a shame -- Pacey would have really enjoyed having someone to talk to... He turned a corner, though, and was very glad to see that there was in fact someone right there that he knew.
"Hey Jasmine!" he greeted, waving at her kind of like a maniac before bounding the few steps over to her. "What're you up to?" If she wasn't busy, maybe they could hang out. He wouldn't say that she was one of his closer friends or anything -- for... various reasons, actually -- but she was welcome company when he was bored out of his mind.

Today is that day again. That one day every month that starts the whole pads and stomach cramps situation, and Jasmine just wasn't feeling her bubbly self. Earlier, probably an hour before classes, she wasn't feeling too sunny either. Her stomach cramps were getting so bad to the point that she wasn't sure she could even leave her room. She was going to have to stay in her bed all day, but a quick glass of water and Ibuprofen, helped ease the pain. In about thirty minutes she was up and about with enough energy to attend her classes. Now that classes were over, Jasmine felt slightly better but the cramps were still there are she made her way to the empty classrooms.
Ever since Jas started attending school here at the academy, every now and then after classes she'd sneak off to the empty classrooms and hallways, though nowadays their not so empty. Discovering them by easedropping her first year here, Jasmine grew alittle curious and wanted to see what they were all about. Jas calls it her mini paradise after her first visit here. So many empty rooms she could practice her water abilities in without anybody disturbing you. Oh, that was the best part about the empty classrooms and hallways. Jas loved how quiet it was when there wasn't a near by fight going on. Other than practicing, she enjoyed sometimes doing her homework down here or just sitting in the peace and quiet, but today Jasmine came down here only to get something she left the day before. Her headphones.
Jasmine reached the classroom she'd used the day before in just a few minutes. She walked in and grabbed her headphones, then walked out. She was about six classrooms down from the one she left from when she heard someone call her name. Her eyes weren't focused on anything in particular but the floor infront of her, so she wasn't quite paying attention. As soon as her name came ringing in her ears, her eyes shot up to see who was calling her. Oh goodie, it was Pacey. He was waving wildly at her and she finally noticed they were just a few steps away. Normally when her friends waved and called her name, she'd smile and wave back, but she just didn't have the energy. She watched the space between her and Pacey shorten. "Hey Pacey." she said barely paying him much attention.
Jasmine hated when she was like this. All her fun and sillyness felt like it was sucked out of her and she just wanted to lay down. She was so unfocused she didn't hear a word he said. "Huh? What did you just say?" she asked. "I'm sorry...I'm just not feeling the greatest today."

Jasmine seemed distinctly different from her usual self. Whenever he saw the girl she was bubbly and happy, and... alright, sure, there were aspects of her personality that Pacey sometimes found grating, but it was nothing that he hated so much that he couldn't stand to be around her. All in all, she was a nice girl -- nice, lovely... pretty too, but these things tended to wear off after a pretty short time for Pacey. He was glad to be able to say that at this point, they were friends... sometimes. There were times when he was pretty sure she wanted nothing more than to be rid of his company. Today it kind of felt like that judging by her rather lackluster greeting, and he might have just fallen silent and walked away except that it didn't seem like she was actually annoyed at him. She didn't even look annoyed actually, maybe more unfocused or tired or something.
When she asked what he'd said, he knit his eyebrows together. It wasn't like he was the type to mumble, so it was pretty unlikely that she hadn't heard him. She really did look tired or something. "I just asked what's up," he answered, still looking kind of confused, but he calmed down a little bit now that he was closer and it wasn't necessary for him to go shouting down the hallway anymore. "Hey, are you feeling okay?" he asked then, genuinely concerned. He wouldn't say that he was always the most observant of people, but when she'd straight-up told him that she wasn't feeling well... that was a pretty blatant way of answering that question before he'd even thought to ask it, actually. "Well I guess not really, huh," he mumbled to answer himself. "Are you sick or something? You should be in bed then!" When Pacey was sick... actually, that was pretty much all he did, lie around and whine and try to get his friends to bring him food and the like. That was if he didn't have classes to be at of course, but classes were over for the day now anyway!

Jasmine was finding it harder and harder to focus. While Pacey seemed to be saying something about just wondering what was going on, she was zooming in on his lips. Jasmine never really looked carefully at his lips before, so this was a first for her. 'Wow...He has some nice lips...' she thought to herself, admiring them. Jasmine could remember the first time she met Pacey. Beings she's boy crazy she thought he was the cutest guy she every saw. So what if he may look young, he was still looked cute in her eyes, but those feelings slowly faded. Yeah, she had a mini crush on him once upon a time, but now their both just friends. Literally, just friends nothing more even if she still finds him cute.
Jas zooming out and noticed his confused face, then the words that were streaming out his mouth. When he asked if she was feeling okay, she was going to replied but decided not to. Didn't she already tell him she wasn't feeling well? She watched him continue talking and she simply nodded her head picking up his mumble. He started asking if she was sick or something and that's what brought a smile to her face. She knew they weren't the greatest or closest of friends, but she was glad he cared somewhat about her. She knew what ticked him off about her, her being judgemental, and it kinda made her sad because that was stopping them from being close besides him being alittle annoying sometimes. Though she wasn't feeling well, Pacey managed to get a giggle out of her. "You could say I'm sick...It's actually the time of the month for me... Heh..I was about to head to my dorm to get some rest. I went to class today feeling this way and I only came down here to grab something I left yesterday...But since I've ran into you I'm in no hurry." she said, still smiling.
She shook her body, trieing to shake off the sleepiness and bring back some fun, then took Pacey's hand. "Let's have some fun, shall we? I'm not going to let my period get in the way of me being happy and having fun with a friend. Pacey, do you have any food on you? I didn't eat anything today." With that, Jas turned around and started walking the way she'd just came. Energy suddenly vibrating off of her.

All things considered, Pacey considered himself to be... well, maybe not mature or anything, but he wasn't so much of a kid either contrary to what people might have thought judging by that babyish face of his. He was, however, still a sixteen-year-old boy in every way and um, okay, he couldn't deny that his face dropped considerably and he couldn't help but let his mouth fall open a little when she answered him. He jumped a little as if shocked... and he kind of was, if not in a literal sense. His face was growing warm and it was probably red and oh my god -- with his blonde hair his entire head was probably clashing with itself. Oh god. He just stood there and bawked, unsure what to say for a second. "Oh. That's, uh..." Hey, Pacey had girl friends and the like but he was just a hopeless teenage boy, alright, all he knew about girls and their times-of-month was the very basic scientific reasons (ahem) and, from hearing various complaints throughout the years, that it apparently felt like being punched in the uterus. That would be great if Pacey knew what that felt like, but no, it really wasn't helpful at all.
He tried to come up wtih something half-intelligent to say. Nothing came to mind. "I, uh... Dude, I'm sorry... That must suck," he finished lamely. "Do you need to go, like... lie down or something?" What was a dude supposed to say in times like these? He guessed that it wouldn't help if he actually asked her this question so instead he just quieted down, looking at her with wide eyes still as if he were afraid she were about to explode or something. Didn't girls get really moody in these cases? Urgh... Pacey didn't even know what to do at all. He imagined that he wasn't being very helpful but really, there was only so much he could think to do or say, and each of them seemed just as awkward as the next one. Her sudden change of topic threw him for a loop though, as did her taking his hand. "Oh. Okay. Yeah, yeah, fun I can do!" He grinned. At least she was being happy and friendly again. That was good! He could deal with this! He hoped she didn't bite his head off or something in the next few minutes was all. "And food... Yeah, I usually have food!" He'd ditched most of his stuff back in his dorm but still had his more or less empty backpack on him, and now he reached into it and pulled out an orange and a yogurt bar. Meh, he hadn't even remembered them, but he had stolen the orange from the mess hall at lunch... and the yogurt bar was just because he liked to snack throughout the day. "Sorry it's not much! Why didn't you eat all day?" Pfft, because... Duh. "Actually never mind, here, just go ahead!" He cleared his throat. "Uh... So what's up, anyway?"
Okay. Pacey was pretty much hopeless, but at least he was trying. This was a departure from his comfort zone though, to be sure.

Jasmine was surprised by her own actions and feelings. She wasn't planning on being all energetic and happy today especially since she'd started her period, but here she was. Happy and filled with energy like any other day she wasn't on her period. What shocked her though, was that the reason for her sudden and unexpected happiness, was Pacey. She couldn't explain it and she found it odd, but all she knew was he that he was the purpose she was smiling right now. Like said before, they arn't the closest of friends and Jasmine never shows her fun side when she's down to just anyone. Maybe she still had a crush on him but didn't know it. Jas found herself questioning all of this. 'Do I still like Pacey? He'd probably think I'm weird if I told him....' she thought to herself.
Jasmine laughed at his remark,"Oh. Okay. Yeah, yeah, fun I can do!" She could see he was alittle freaked when she brought up that she was on her period and now he was slowly recovering. She actually found it alittle cute. Who would have thought Pacey felt uncomfotable around that topic? Well, most men were, but Pacey still seemed to amaze Jas. Jas's smile widen when she heard he might have food. She looked back and watched him pull food out his backpack. Jas thanked the lord that Pacey had something for her to snack on, even if it was only an orange and a yogurt bar. She slowed her pace so they were walking at the same speed and besides each other, as he asked why she didn't eat. When he quickly replied never mind and told her she could go right ahead, she practically ripped the food from his hands.
While she opened the wrapper to the yogurt bar and started munching, she heard him clear his throat before going on to ask what she was up to. She took another bite before answering. "Well I was fine yesterday until this morning, but I'm more happier now. I'm just worried I might fail because of my period. Well, you know. I'd probably get a bad mark for today because I lacked energy..." she said, side glancing at him. "So. What about you? What are you up to?"

Pacey seriously had no idea what it was like to be a girl, let alone a girl on her period, so this was just... extremely weird for him, like being asked to imagine that he was giving birth or something. Ew, what? That was so not going to happen. Okay, it wasn't really like she was asking him to do anything of the sort, but Pacey didn't want to take his chances or anything with being insensitive, and the best way to understand people's problems was to put himself in their positions and oh god there was no way he would be able to do that. Pacey shook off the awkwardness (god, he was such a fail with this kind of thing) and smiled anyway. "Happier is good! Sorry you had a... not-so-good day, I guess," he said, and he meant it even though he was still feeling incredibly awkward. Such was the life of a teenage guy, he thought in an almost melancholy way, but he knew that it wasn't really that serious.
He shook his head, though. "Nah, you can't fail just for one off day." He was pretty sure, at least, not that Pacey was much of an expert on... anything, actually. He knew that he'd had off days in the past before, though (even if he wasn't sure if it was the same or not, considering of course he never had... exactly the same problems) and his grades had yet to suffer so much, even in his elemental classes. 'The bad grade for the day, though... I mean, maybe. But you can always pull it back up, don't worry!" He smiled brightly. Hey, everyone had a lousy day sometimes where they lacked energy. He watched as she bit into the food hungrily, and eh, at least it could make her day somewhat better. Pacey had kind of wanted that stuff... but dinner was coming up! He'd be peachy. "Me? Not much! Was looking for something to do. But hanging with you will be just fine." He grinned cheekily. "Got plans?" Admittedly... admittedly she wasn't his favourite person to be around or anything, but she was pretty friendly and (for the most part) nice, which was a bonus.

Jasmine hadn't really realized how hungry she was until she got her hands of Pacey's orange and yogurt bar. Even if she disliked the food he had on him, which she does actually like, she would of still ate it. Right before she went in for the kill on his yogurt bar her stomach let out a loud roar. Though, once that yogurt bar hit her tongue the taste of heaven exploded in her mouth. Jas was never a big fan of yogurt bars but they were a good snack, you know? Anyways, right then that yogurt bar tasted like the best snack on earth, even better than chocolate. Anyone who knew Jas knew she's obsessed with chocolate.... That yogurt snack was so good, if Pacey wasn't right next to her she would of moaned. Seriously. Jasmine was actually alittle embarrassed. She's practically tore the food from Pacey's hand and shoved it into her mouth, of course after she unwrapped it. She wondered if he was planning on saving the yogurt bar or/and orange for later on. If he was, Jas would buy him something.
Jas nodded,"Yup. Happier is good, but don't apologize. You didn't arrive at my dorm early in the morning to give me my monthly gift...." Jas kept side glancing at him, and listened to every word he said. She knew you couldn't actually fail your classes because of one off day, but it made her even happier to hear it from Pacey's mouth. She simply nodded her head and let him continue without inturpting. Jas also knew the possiblity of getting a bad grade for the day for possible but she could always bring it up. If you know Jas, you know she's really stubborn and determined to pass with flying colors each grade if it means helping her master her powers quicker, so she was definitely going to do whatever it took to bring it back up. Jasmine stopped walking and looked straight at Pacey. "If you find hanging out with me uncomfortable, feel free to wonder off if you want...." Jas said, the smile fading. She really didn't want him to pretend to enjoy her company and she definitely didn't want to keep him from doing other things more important, even if he said hanging out with her was fine....As quick as the smile faded, her smile reappeared. "Um...Plans..Oh! I'm moving back home." Jas said, finishing the yogurt bar.

The discussion of this "monthly gift" made him feel awkward again, but he didn't let it show this time, just smiled a little. "Yeah, that'd have been kind of impossible." Still, he didn't see the problem with a sympathetic "sorry" every now and then -- it wasn't like he was legitimately apologizing because he felt bad for doing anything. That would just be silly. He wouldn't do anything that mean even if he wanted to and had the means. That shit was definitely all science and reasons and... um, Pacey would just stop talking. "Huh?" He blinked. Had he made it sound like hanging around with her was a bad thing? It wasn't! Well... Jasmine had her moments, but many people did, and it wasn't something he was going to hold against her until she actually showed these colours. "I won't wander off for no reason, don't worry." If something came up, he'd at least let her know what it was before leaving -- it was rude to leave her there without any reason.
He watched a little wistfully as she finished off the food, but it wasn't like he'd been super hungry or about to eat it himself in the next couple of minutes or anything. Plus there would be dinner later! He could always grab something at that time... and "grab something" obviously meant, in this case, stuff his face. "Moving back home? How come?" he asked curiously, frowning at her. She probably dormed then, if that were the case -- he didn't really know much about her, had never thought to ask about this kind of thing. "Where is home, anyway? Maple Hollow?" He'd guess that this was the case considering there was nothing else really nearby enough.

This time Jasmine was unaware that bringing up her period again made Pacey...uncomfortable and awkward. He was doing a good job at hiding his discomfort when you think about it, and his quick thinking to smile was a true work of art. Jas just assumed he was used to the topic by now and her use of words related to it. She wanted to giggle at his comment, 'Yeah, that'd have been kind of impossible', but just watched him. When she stopped and he noticed, his response sorta lightened the mood, though she wasn't sure what he meant by no reason. So if he wanted to wonder off he'd give her a reason? Is that what he was trying to say? She didn't feel like confronting him and questioning his meaning, so she just left it be. "I'm glad to hear that..."
Jasmine put the wrapper to the yogurt bar in her pocket and started peeling the orange. Throwing the peelings into a random trash bin. Oranges were one of Jas's favorite fruits, but she like them more when they were made into creams and stuffed into dark chocolate. Dark chocolate and fruit creams tasted the best together....They really do and just happened to be one of Jas's favorite kinds of chocolates.... Jasmine watched Pacey's cute smile turn into a frown and wished he'd be happy again, just to see his smile, as she chewed on a slice of the orange. He started asking her a bunch of questions about her home and she didn't mind answering. "Nothing serious. I just don't think I can stand being in a dorm anymore....And yeah, my home is here in Maple Hollow. Born and raised...." Jas said, grinning.
Jasmine started getting alittle nervous when she thought about telling Pacey her phobia. She never really told anyone before that she was after of closed in spaces and her nerves were making her lose her appetite. She held the rest of the orange slices out to him. "I'm sorry, Pac. For wasting your orange...Um. Could I tell you something personal?" she asked, using a nickname instead of his actual name. Not everyone was able to just blurt their phobias out like it was nothing.

Pacey smiled a little -- the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air came to mind when she said the words "born and raised". "Yeah? The playground is where you spent most of your days?" he asked, hoping she'd catch the reference. He was just being silly, of course. That was... pretty common for him, actually. "That's cool though," he said, a little more seriously this time. Maple Hollow really was a pretty nice place -- there were certainly grungy parts of town, but for the most part it was almost kind of picturesque, a well-kept city. He thought there was more charm to it than there was to Toronto, at least, but the city was... just not home. It was obviously home for Jasmine, though. "It's a nice place to live, for sure. Do you like it here?" He liked being back at home but he definitely wasn't complaining about spending most of the year at school.
There seemed to be a sudden shift in mood, and he eyed her warily. Girls could be so unpredictable sometimes. Actually, all people could be so unpredictable, he corrected himself in his mind -- but considering Jasmine wasn't, er, her usual self today, he didn't really know what exactly to expect. He did, however, blink confusedly when she handed him the rest of the orange. "Huh? You can eat it!" he insisted, not really understanding. He didn't reach out a hand to take the slices from here, just shook his head a little. "I mean, if you still want it that is. You can't be full after just a yogurt bar if you haven't eaten all day." Pacey definitely didn't think that giving food over to his friends was a "waste" by any definition of the term. His confusion only grew as she kept talking. "I... sure?" He blinked.
