Kiya was in her element. She had just finished the last of her homework about 10 minutes ago and at this point she was about ready to yell and just give up. She had gotten through it and was ready to start what she did best. She had booted up her computer and ready to loose herself in the amazing-ness of the game. A place where people wouldn't make fun of you for the way that you are and a place where you could be who ever you wanted to be. It was something that she loved about the world, and that she could say what ever she wanted to say and do what she wanted to do. It was her zone and by god was in it. It had all started when her father had gotten sick and it was their thing. They would always play games in the hospital just like they would at home and it had gotten to the point where she would want to play the more hard-core games to try and get mind off everything that was going on around her. It was her escape from the work and after a while it had just become habit.
Something that was different was the fact that she had become more of a confidant person. She even had friends that weren't on the internet and that was something for this girl. With every passing day she was finding out something new and for Kiya this was one of the most amazing things that she could think off. She had even joined the leadership program for her element and she even found that that was really fun. She had meet some really awesome people that had many different interests and it was nice to meet different people and try to actually get along with people that where so different to herself. For thinking about that to looking back to her screen all of the things that had happened recently was gone in her mind. Everything. All of her family problems with money and her brother moving out was stressing her out and all she needed was some way to escape.
You know what. That was what she was going to do. Just to get away from everything but with the way that she way, Kiya knew that she would wait for it. It would only take one small thing to change everything. By all means she knew that it might take a while but at the same time Kiya also knew that it would be the thing that would change everything. So this was the decider. This year would be everything to Kiya and she wouldn't look back on it, as far as she was concerned.

Asher smiled and laughed as he sat with his friends in the mess hall, clearly amused by whatever it was they were talking about. This was normally how his afternoon went after classes were done. At least before he had to go off to work a few hours at the shop and then make his way home to have dinner. Yep, his normal routine involved sitting in the mess hall with his friends while they ate, just so he could socialize with them before leaving campus. He was a social butterfly by nature and enjoyed doing these sorts of things with people. None of them were amazingly close friends or anything of that sort, but decent enough where he would take a good half hour to an hour chatting it up with them in the afternoons. "Are you studied up for the test tomorrow?" One of his buddies asked, diverting his attention away from one conversation and towards another. He raised an eyebrow. "Ah, no I'm not actually. I mean, I studied a little bit after the teacher mentioned it but not...much after that." Forever distracted. It did not take much at all to lead Asher onto a different train of thought or work on something other than what he was supposed to be working on. Cars were one of those things that practically erased everything from his mind. All it took was an engine and he was gone.
"Well, we're going back to the dorms to do a little review if you wanna join us?" Asher pondered over for a minute or two, thinking of all of the things he needed to do at the shop and his chores at home. Ah well, Greg had hired a couple of extra hands over the past month or so (one after Morgan left, and an extra for the days when Asher had educational duties to attend to) so he did not feel all that guilty about skipping out for a little while. Finally, he shrugged. "Sure, I can go for that." After the group finished up their meals he followed the select couple that decided to go back to the Wind common room to do a little studying. Of course for Asher that endeavor did not last long when he walked into the room and saw a familiar face. Not aware that she was playing a game or absorbed in her thoughts, the boy abandoned the two people he was previously with to plop down next to Kiya and throw an arm over the back of the seat. He smiled brightly at her. "Hey!" Asher greeted cheerfully, giving her a bit of a side hug before pulling back and briefly glancing over at her computer screen. He wasn't trying to be nosy; it just so happened to be in his line of vision and his attention had simply been drawn towards the bright light. "How have you been?" It was not like they didn't talk; they were the Wind leaders after all, but Asher still wanted to know. "...I'm not like, interrupting anything am I?" He did look a bit concerned that he might have intruded on her private time, but it was a bit late to realize this.

Kiya was in the zone. It was like those few times that she used to play ‘heads down, thumbs up’ when she was primary school. She was always ready for anything that comes her way, at any point. Like when she would play some sort of horror game and she would be ready to up out of her skin at any moment and want to close her laptop, run back to bed and hope that whatever it was wasn’t going to eat her while she slept. Yea. It was like that. Headphones on, ready to jump and ready to fight. That was Kiya for you. It was when her fellow leader, Asher, came up next to her and she knew that stuff was going to go down. These two had always worked really well together, even though she was still rather new to the whole leadership thing. As soon as she had seen up, or really heard him, come up behind him you could see her flinch just a little, you had to admit that it was a little scary to have someone come up next to you when you are trying to play game, or was it just her. “Hey Asher!” Kiya replied with just as much energy as he had done so with her in the first place. Asher was one of those people that Kiya knew that she was just able to match his energy levels. Sometimes.
“I have been alright, I guess. The usual pretty much. Gaming, no sleep, meh. What about you? Anything new happen at the shop?” Both of them worked in town and ran into each other every now again, though she hadn’t been down to Maple Hollow for a couple days and you never really know what goes down unless you are there to see it, or at least hear about it just after it happens. She had had so much stuff happen recently that back home that she had booked a few weeks off work, though she was going back to Tim’s to work in the next couple of days. “Not interrupting anything. Not really anyways.” Kiya was the type of person that would try to talk to people if they wanted to talk. Seeing as Asher had come to talk to her in the first place she was mainly just guessing that he wanted to talk about something, though at the same time she loved her alone time, just not as much. “I am really bored anyways. It is good to actually talk to someone every once and a while, I guess.” And that was the tried, just. After years of playing games she had been able to somehow negate the effects of being sleepy but it was still pretty hard to sometimes. This wasn’t one of those times, thank god.

Kiya's cheerful response was encouraging, only making the boy smile all the more. He really was an energetic person and liked to be chipper and up beat about most things. His passions for cars and extreme sports tended to get him a little more excited than other things but that was perfectly normal. Doing the things you loved tended to do that. "No sleep is not really a good thing," He pointed out with a chuckle, clearly not bothered that her sleep schedule was practically non-existed. Asher needed his eight hours of sleep at night in order to function; of course with how busy he was during the day it did not take much to have him pass out on the bed after dinner and homework was said and done. "Nah, nothing new really. Still working on my car and stuff. Greg has still be under the weather a bit though, so I'm having to take up more hours at work."
He did frown a bit at his last statement, concerned for the man that had taken good care of him and his family when they were struggling. The move to Canada would not have been as easy otherwise. "Good," Asher said with a relieved smile. "But if I start to bug you just let me know." He was comfortable and confident enough in himself not to take offense or get butt hurt if she were to say that he was being annoying or a nuisance. Everyone could be annoying sometimes, and he knew he was no exception to that.
"Yeah, always good to socialize with people every once in a while. I mean, being alone isn't bad but I know I couldn't do it all the time." Asher was way to talkative and outgoing to deal with sitting around and not being around other people. He could chill out for a few hours in his room and listen to music but even then he was talking to someone through text or on Facebook. His social life was pretty much non-stop. Curious, the boy leaned over and looked at what she was doing. He was never that great with personal space. "What are you playing?"

Not having sleep was something that Kiya was very used too! It wasn’t that she liked it or anything, you could even say that these two had a love-hate relationship with it. It was more that she like playing games more that she really felt like she needed sleep. It was like when someone that really liked sports would train for hours and hours to get better, that was pretty much what she would to when gaming into the hour of the night, and most of the time, into the early hours of the morning. Many people may have told her that sleep was important, well if they thought that then they would be alright with her sleeping in class but apparently that wasn’t a good enough reason to do so. “You have a point there but meh.” She knew that people needed their sleep to be able to do anything during the day and even her mother though that she was a vampire at times. Well she did have a point, Kiya hated the day, unless there was photography or friends involved, and love to stay up late and stuff like that. She could really only blame herself when it came to that!
One Asher started talking about his car she really could help but smile. She knew how much how much he loved that thing, she would go and see him at the shop every now and again after work just to see him working his ass of on all the different cars that would come in to get fixed. That was what made him tick and she didn’t mind that. “I bet that your car is in pretty good shape now! But give my good word to Greg, I really hopes that he gets better soon!”
“Don’t worry, you are too cool for that; right?” She was joking but Kiya really didn’t know if he would see it that way. She knew how he was and of course she thought that he was awesome, it was more the fact that she like joking around with her fellow wind leader. They were just tight like that. Though as soon as Asher had mentioned that he really needed to get out more and talk to people she really couldn’t help but laugh a little to herself. It wasn’t that what he said was funny, because it was, it was more the meaning behind what he had said. Due to the fact that they were so close, it did mean that know a lot about each other and that he knew who anti-social they could get! “Socializing is always good, I do get that, don’t worry mate.” Kiya talked to heaps of people, all of the time. She would talk to her online friends at least once a day! Though as soon as he had leaned over to see what she was playing, she really couldn’t help but smile. It was such as Asher sort of thing to do, “Just WoW, nothing really special if you know what I mean!"
