Pacey liked to shop and buy new things, for real -- or maybe he just liked to have new things in general, because honestly the kid had way more things than he was pretty sure he ever actually used or that he had ever needed. He just liked... things! It wasn't always clothes and things either (he'd gone and raided game stores before) but those were, by far, the easiest. Still, Pacey just liked malls because they provided everything all at once, and it was pretty awesome. In the end though, he'd learnt that the one thing he actually did like more than having new things was... buying new things for people. Pacey wasn't sure if he would even actually call it generosity, because no, that just made it sound so... so weird somehow. He didn't think he was a bad person or anything, but he was just kind of shameless -- and he liked to do whatever made him happy. "Generous" wasn't a word he was sure described that perfectly, but hey, he did like it when people enjoyed the gifts he got them, though not all of them went over that great.
Today he was off to the mall (surprise, surprise -- it seemed to Pacey that he spent half his life there lately) to meet up with Gale, a pretty decent friend. Pacey... just liked to buy things! Before he could do this he had a driving lesson, though, and actually he was pretty excited. It was May already -- in September he could actually get that license and, uh, no longer have to have a fully-licensed adult around when he was driving. Aw, yeah. That was going to be the life, even though Pacey wasn't sure he was actually going to go much of anywhere, besides heading from the Academy to the Hollow and all that. He'd get a car, though! He didn't know what that car was yet, but his parents had said something about it and the kid was pretty excited, and of course this just went back to getting new things. He drove up to the mall parking lot and parked, nodding as his driving instructor told him a few things before he got out, waving his bye and then heading inside to the food court where they'd decided to meet up. When he got there Gale was already waiting. "Yo!" Pacey grinned as he approached. "You weren't waiting long, were you? I had driving lessons," he said as an explanation.

Gale probably wouldn't outwardly admit how much he liked shopping. He liked shopping about as much as he liked swimming. And food. God, the boy had too many weird hobbies. Well, weird for somebody like him anyways. At least he thought they where weird. He always got criticised for always being in the water. He was like a fish. Or an otter, in the fact that he came on land when he had to, but would prefer to be in the water. That was his favorite place in the world to be. Whether it was just in a pool, or in the lake, or at the beach... you could damn well gueruntee he would find a body of water somewhere to be swimming in. But shopping was a close second. Esspecially because he loved to cause trouble in the mall. He probably did that more than he actually bought stuff, but that was always nice too. He did enjoy buying new clothes. And shoes and what not. He tried to stay fairly dapper.
So today he was at the mall to meet up with his friend Pacey. He was an earth kid that was a pretty decent friend. Not one of his best, but of course, Gale was friends with just about anybody. Well, anybody in his alliance, of course. He shied away from the fire and thunder students. Except for Josh and Lark. Both of them where pretty awesome people and they where both fires. Traitors, but that was alright to him. The water/earth alliance was better anyways, or at least he thought so. But of course, he was the water leader, so he was supposed to think that. It was like group representation right? He had agreed to meet Pacey in the food court. Of course that was where he would be - it was the best place in the mall. He wasn't that hungry right now though, so he figured he would wait until later to eat. He was sort of zoning off when he heard a familiar voice, and turned to see Pacey. "Yo." He responded back, nodding to him a bit. "Nah man it's alright. I haven't been here that long." He said, smiling. He had his arms folded across his chest, and glanced around. "So where you wanna go first?"

Pacey had to say that Chinese food from the food court was seriously terrible (not that he was an expert or anything, but he did have tastebuds) but when he walked past one of those places, he did get immediate cravings. Ugh, food was just the best. He could pretty much eat anything actually, now that he thought about it... okay ew, actually, he'd read some pretty terrible stories online about gross foods that were eaten across the world and some of those he wouldn't touch. Most everything else he would, though. For now he wasn't hungry though, and he knew that the mall wasn't so big that it'd be a hassle for them to return back here later for food, so he ignored this. "Man, that smells good, let's grab food later," he said instead, actually kind of excited to get on with shopping. It wasn't the most manly of activities to enjoy... but that was okay because Pacey wasn't the manliest of dudes. "But good! Still though, sorry," he said, flashing his friend a grin.
"Uh... what do you say we just wander? I'm sure something will grab us," he said, gesturing off in the direction opposite from where he'd come and heading off that way. He figured that Gale would follow, and so he continued on as he walked, just making conversation as they went. The kid could get pretty talkative when he got excited, though it wasn't like he blabbed all the time or anything, but he figured that there was no harm in this case. "Dude, I can't wait for my license though, it's gonna be pretty sweet not having to like... take the bus." Having taken the public bus for the very first time back in his first week or so at the Academy, Pacey had thought it was pretty weird, but at this point he was fairly accustomed to it. It definitely wasn't his preferred way to travel, though -- he was going to enjoy getting to drive and having his own car and what-not. It was worth getting excited over, he thought. "Oh dude, shoes. Sale. Let's go." His eyes lit up. People wouldn't think that sales were a big deal because the kid really did have so much money, but hey... hey, if he could have two or three pairs instead of one new pair, then he was going to be all over that.

Gale figured that one reason he and Pacey got along was because they did have similar hobbies. It wasn't that common to find guys who really enjoyed shopping. At least not straight ones anyways. Despite how .. not straight he could act, it was all just that - an act. Gale was perfectly straight, but he could totally convince somebody other wise. It was sort of like a super power. It made people laugh though - and that was of course the best thing in the world. If he could make somebody laugh he knew that he was doing his job right. Not that being a class clown was technically a job, but he sort of looked at it as one. Es specially if somebody was having a bad day - he needed to cheer them up. "Oh of course dude, I could eat all day long. Me and food are like, best friends." He said, patting his stomach. Although, that was obviously exaggerative. He was extremely lean - even if he didn't have most muscle. He really did love to eat. And really - he had very unhealthy eating habits. He would choose a greasy burger over a salade any day. As Josh had said before, his poor arteries where probably crying.
"I agree... let us.. go.. find something." He said, laughing a little at himself before walking after Pacey and shoving his hands in his pockets. He had a bit of a bad habit of walking with his hands in his pockets. It just sort of happened. It didn't mean he was ignoring anybody, it was just comfortable. "Bro, just call me and I can come pick you up. I promise my car smells better than a bus." Well, at least he thought so. Maybe not all the time, but for the most part it did. He wasn't a huge fan of the little honda civic but it did the job. Eventually he hoped to get something better. Something more... him. He just didn't think the beat up grey civic was really him at all. He could see himself in something more like a BMW or a Lambo or a Porche. Although he knew he would never be able to afford one. Unless he found an un tapped oil fill. He was a bit lost in his thoughts when Pacey found a sale. "Oh, perfect." Gale mused, and turned and walked into the store - immediately heading for the shoe section.

Pacey's love of food was even better than his love of shopping and buying new things, and this was saying something -- he really did like having new things. Shopping was fun, too. There was always something new and shiny to catch his eye. It was amazing how many times he could wander through the mall, and yet each time there was something new. He wondered if he'd yet to make a trip shopping without buying anything. "Hey, don't come between me and food, okay? You don't understand, man, my love for food burns with the passion of a thousand white hot suns," he said dramatically and a little too loudly. Hey, declarations of love were the greatest, even when they were for inanimate objects. Food was more satisfying than any other inanimate object. "But if there needs to be an altercation..." He said it loftily and defensively, eyeing Gale as if he suspected that the other dude was about to steal his girlfriend (or in this case, food) or something.
He didn't mind at all when Gale shoved his hands in his pockets -- it was a pretty comfortable way to walk honestly, and Pacey did know how terribly awkward it was sometimes to just walk around holding nothing. Giving his hands something to do was always nice. For now though, Pacey was alright -- and he knew that the chances were that he was going to be carrying around tons of shopping bags in a second anyway, so he might as well carry on as he was. "Eh, the bus isn't so bad." This was really saying something, considering Pacey was used to living in luxury and all the finer things. Being at the Academy had grounded him spectacularly -- as had a handful of his friends, whether at school or back home in Toronto. "Though yeah dude, I'll remember that. It's cool though, in a couple months I'll have my own car and then it's all good from there." He intended to take the test as soon as possible when he turned seventeen, and that would be in September. As for an actual car, well... money was rarely if ever an object for his parents. "Look, they totally suit you!" He held up a pair of particularly vibrant pink, sparkly girls' sneakers and snickered. He was just making fun -- he was sure Gale knew that. Gale's outfit wasn't nearly that colourful!

When it came to shopping, Gale was more into the actual shopping than he was into buying things. He didn't have a whole lot of money, so the point of going to the mall was more to hang out with friends and cause trouble than to actually buy things. Gale laughed a little at Pacey's comment and placed a hand on his chest, putting his other hand up defensively. "Whoa bro. Whoa. I'm sorry to tell you but I think she's been cheating on you." He shook his head and dropped his arms, sighing dramatically before looking at him. "We have a pretty heated relationship, man. We're together every day..." Anybody who was listening in probably did think that they where talking about a girl. But hey, food was better anyways right? He really did love food. Who didn't, though? Food was pretty wonderful. A shopping mall, a swimming pool, and food, was all Gale really needed to be happy for the rest of his life. Well, and somebody to talk to. He was a chatter box and could rarely shut up.
Gale raised an eyebrow and shook his head a little. "Every time I've been on the bus I am pretty sure I come off smelling like an old hobo. Or better yet, an old hobo's socks. And that's probably really bad." He snorted in disgust, and also in agreement with himself. He really thought the bus was gross, and hated riding on it. If he had to he would, but now he had his license. He didn't have his own car yet, but his mom let him borrow hers sometimes, so that was always nice. Either that or he would ride his bike. He tried to avoid the bus at all costs. "I still need my own car too. So I know how you feel! But really, it's no big deal. Anytime. Just call!" He said, flashing a bright smile at his friend. And when Pacey pulled out the hot pink shoes, Gale couldn't help but smile. "Oh yeah! They totally bring out my eyes!" He said, batting his eyelashes, before shaking his head. After a moment, he pulled out a pair of four inch high black heels, and held them out to Pacey. "You should try these on, Bro. I'm sure you'd look fantastic in them."

Pacey was very much the type of dude to just go with whatever was going on. There was no point to getting all worked up over nothing, he figured, and as long as this was the case he didn't think that there was much of a problem. It let him get along with a whole mess of people, at least, though there were things that annoyed him too. Things weren't always black or white! For the most part, even when he disliked people, they tended to get along anyway, unless they had any reason to pick fights with him specifically, or if they were most any Fire or Thunder. In essence, Pacey was just a very easygoing kind of guy, but if there were things not to be messed with, it was his love for food and for shopping. Luckily, this was just all a joke, or else Pace would have been very annoyed. It really did sound like it was about a girl, though -- if that were the case he might legitimately be angry. Thankfully for everyone involved, it wasn't. "How dare you, she would never do that to me! Nobody loves her like I do!" he argued, very aware that he was causing a scene and kind of amused by it, in fact. "Dude... you don't understand, man." He was a little impressed by his own ability to sound heartbroken, but Pacey was no brilliant actor or anything. "You don't know how much she means to me, bro. I make time for her like, at least four or five times a day. Usually more." The kid liked to eat!
Despite his upbringing, which was (if he'd be one hundred percent honest with himself) anything but modest, Pacey had gotten pretty used to what was essentially normal life. For teenagers who weren't yet able to drive for whatever reasons, "normal life" generally meant the bus -- or so he was pretty sure from what he had learnt over the past couple of years at the Academy -- and Pacey hadn't had any particularly bad experiences taking public transportation like it seemed so many other people had. He did, however, make a face at Gale's explanation. "Dude, seriously, that's kind of gross. I don't need to imagine the smell of an old hobo's socks." Then he laughed. "Anyway, how do you know what that smells like?" He was pretty sure that it wasn't so bad, though, all things considered -- Maple Hollow was too small for there to be any particular trouble with that kind of thing. Big cities did always seem to be dirtier, grungier. "Yeah, but I think I'm probably gonna have one when I get my license." He said it pretty nonchalantly. His birthday was in September, and that was when he was planning on getting his license... It seemed the type of thing that his parents would do. "For sure! So fitting, see." Pacey handed the shoes over to Gale for closer inspection and then laughed at the heels presented to him. Those were fucking tall. "I don't know man, from past experience I'm pretty sure I can't walk in anything that high..." He was kidding -- there was no past experience -- but no, he probably would be awful if he tried to walk in those.
