“It’s possible, isn’t it?” he chuckled, looking at his friend with raised eyebrows. Kai was a calm person who rarely ever portrayed emotions other than those that are positive. “You have to let out all the bad feelings out eventually.” Whether that be in a healthy or violent way, Emmett wasn’t going to stop him… unless it ended up with more violence then the Thunder would be there in a heartbeat. He didn’t like the image of Kai being bullied or getting into fights. It was just so uncharacteristic and absolutely infuriating. It may not look like it, but Emmett cared more than he let on. So what if he ended up with a few cuts and bruises because of it? It’d be worth it. He’d protect a friend and save the guilt for another rainy day. Emmett rolled his eyes, finally cracking a smile at the Wind’s comment. “Cute? You wish.” He shoved away his friend’s face playfully, adding, “Though I gotta admit; your puppy dog eyes can soften up a psychopath.” Compliment? …compliment. Just in a odd, Emmett kind of way.
Emmett’s smirk suddenly faded and he glowered at Kai. “… fine. We’re even.” Isabella would just have too much fun with teasing one of the them—both on the other hand… well, fuck, was all Emmett could say, really. There was only too much teasing that he could handle, and when he lost his temper it was pretty. And he’d feel immensely guilty afterwards, so he’d rather do without that. “You don’t mention that to Bella, and I’ll do the same. Deal?” Though, Emmett knew eventually Isabella would find out and it’d just be an all out war between the three of them.
He nodded as Kai spoke, focusing his attention on his ice cream cone way too much to be considered normal. The Thunder had to admit though—he was just a teensy bit jealous. Having been abandoned at a young age, he didn’t really have a lot of memories of his parents. “That sounds nice. How is she?” he asked nonchalantly, though he was entirely curious. Kai’s mother was a lovely woman; probably the closest thing he’s ever had as a mother, to be honest. He sighed, shifting in his seat, before finally blurting out what’s been on his mind for weeks, “—girls.” God, Emmett probably sounded stupid right about then. And there was no doubt in his mind Kai was going to jump onto the subject, especially since Emmett hadn’t brought anything up about girls—romantically—since his… thing with Karlee, which ended pretty badly. He figured Kai was much better at these things than him. “… how do you deal with them?”
