The steps creaked and moaned whenever she stepped on them. God, I'm not that heavy. She thought to herself. She wished they would stop making so much noise. If there was anyone else down there then it totally gave her away. She wondered if that was the reason why the kept the noisey stairs instead of purchasing new ones. When she reached the bottom, she was pleased to find no one here except a few skeletons.Gross. Angie was all about the color black and creepy stuff like this but, the smell was awful down here. She sat down in at the one table in the middle of the room. Yet again, crappy table. But, the chair didn't creek when she sat on it so it wasn't too bad. She put her feet up on the table and leaned back in the chair a little bit. Remembering how she used to do this at her uncles' house all the time but, she almost never fell. She was wearing boots today, black boots. They were kinda clunky but, they were very comfortable and they could withstand the heat that happened in her classes. She sat there and took out her phone. It was new-ish. It had a slide open instead of a flip and she could get internet and facebook and send emails and of course text and call with it. She was scrolling through it and checking her text messages. She had gotten one from her uncle, asking how her day was. She never saw him since moving from Ireland to Canada. When she first arrived she was in culture shocked and her english wasn't all that great but, she adjusted like she always had and learned english quickly and got over the high drinking age and other cultural differences. She texted him back saying that everything was fine and that she was glad that it was friday. She sent the text and then started scrolling through some old pictures that she had yet to delete. Sitting in the solitude was nice. There was no one around to bug her and she could actually hear herself think. It was nice. Most of the time she had to deal with people fighting and arguing about stupid shit that she didn't care about. There were even fights in her dorm between other fires. She was a bit more interested in those but, barely. Then there were the freshman who ran around with their cool powers thinking that they could dominate the world. No. If anyone was going to dominate the world, it was going to be her. |
