Sandra laughed, amused when he corrected himself... or something like that, anyway. "Bad influence," she scolded, not that Sandra really thought it was that bad. There were many worse things Nurse Avery could be telling all the students, she was sure. She couldn't think about what those things might have been, off the top of her head... but she was sure they were there. She could probably come up with a thing or two if she thought about it a little, but Sandra didn't think too much about... anything, really. She just lived life. "I do know," she agreed, sighing. It was a curse, really. "Antiseptic in the eyes?" She squeaked a little at the thought, covering her eyes with her hands as if she were afraid that he would actually do that to her. "I'd never torture people like that!" she said, giggling and peeking out at him from between her fingers.
She didn't even know what to do with Nurse Avery sometimes -- they were seriously way too alike in some ways. It was almost scary. She was sure he was a little wiser to the ways of the world, though, but meh... even then, this wasn't what Sandra thought about most of the time. She just liked being happy, and it did make her happy when other people were happy. At least she was able to make him laugh, she figured. "A six pack? That's some intense laughing," she said, giggling once again, but it turned shrill and more panicked when he poked her in the stomach again. "Stoooop," she whined, crossing her arms over her belly to prevent that from happening again. Darn it all! She had to stop letting her guard down. How many times was he going to get her?! She had forgotten if this was even three or four at this point. "Ooow," she whined some more once he started pinching her cheeks. She reached her arms away from her torso to pull his fingers away from her face. "Not allowed near my face when I'm so horribly injured!" she said, laughing at the idea of these little scratches on her face being anywhere close to horrible injuries. They were really nothing at all. "Shamwow on my face." Her eyes grew wide. "Perfect! It has to be done! I'll expect this next time I come in here," she said, nodding a few times to emphasize her point. "And hey, if I have to wear pilllows all over my body I think I get to be a little picky." She really wasn't a picky person overall, at least she didn't think.
It was a joke, she knew that, but even so she smiled and said very genuinely, "I am! I don't know what I'd do wtihout you!" She really didn't, either. There were other nurses and doctors around the medical wing, seeing as it was after all fairly big, but she hadn't been lying when she'd said that Nurse Avery was her favourite, certainly the one she knew best and the one she spoke to the most. She wondered why that was, but it was the way things had gone. "Bunnies must be scarier than I thought," she said, laughing. She attempted a roar but she was too giggly to do any such thing well in the slightest, and in the end she just sighed. "I just mean, like, don't be surprised if you get a bunch of other soaked kids in here." It had started out with a couple of them and then people had kept running in and out of the fight -- no one was exempt, though, nope. "It definitely is," she argued. "You'd look so adorable in pink! All... pink. And pretty." People wouldn't think that pink was her brother's colour either, but hey, he showed them with that pink leopard print cardigan of his. (Of course, Sandra still facepalmed whenever she saw it, but mostly this was out of love, really.) "If I turn all your clothes pink you should borrow Matt's one cardigan. You know the one." She giggled. She wouldn't say that she and her brother had all the same friends or anything weird like that, but it wasn't too weird when they had a few in common -- like Nurse Avery!
She liked the nurse, she really did, but at this moment she was seriously considering shoving something into his mouth to make him shut up. "Stop, that's not fair!" she insisted, looking around to see if there was anything she actually could stick into his mouth, but there was nothing other than her own two hands, and Sandra was really not willing to take it that far, ew. "Nobody, because I don't, but you seem way too convinced that I do!" she said, aware that she was making no sense at this point, but she couldn't claim to be the most rational of people when she got in one of these situations. It made her nervous for sure, and she didn't know why because she didn't like Devin, but she didn't know what she could say to convince him... or herself... of this. "I'm serious, I don't!" she said, her voice coming out as a whine, but she really didn't know what else to say. "But no oh my god no it is so not okay!" she squealed, panicky but deadly serious, her eyes wide. She didn't even know how Devin would take that, and Sandra was really not willing to find out. She thought it was weird enough as it was anyway, considering she hadn't even spoken to him since then. "I'll do whatever you want! I swear I won't turn your clothes pink! I won't even get hurt and bother you for like, a week!" She couldn't think of anything else to say, and she bit her lip, wondering if Nurse Avery really would do that.
Sandra just deepened her pout at his retort and the way his eyes narrowed at her, but she wasn't falling for that act like he was actually annoyed with her. She was very much trusting of people, could see no reason why someone she'd always gotten along with before would suddenly decide to change tune now. "Yay!" The pout vanished almost instantenously once she caught the lollipop. She pulled the wrapper off and stuck it in her mouth happily. "Thank you, Nurse Avery," she chanted almost like a five-year-old with her mom watching her to make sure she remembered all her manners or something. Sandra wouldn't say that she was rude most of the time or anything... "Oh yeah," she said, her face falling, remembering her class all of a sudden with her teacher and all the boring math and numbers. "Do I have to go? Can I stay here? I'll help you out!" she offered with a hopeful look.

"Am not," Avery shot back, narrowing his eyes playfully. "I'm an amazing role model, thank you very much. You kids are the ones corrupted~" he said innocently though despite him a smirk appeared on his lips. It's not like he told things that could be deemed inappropriate to his patients on a daily basis. Rather it was the opposite, he swore! Teenagers these days were getting more corrupted than ever, and though it amused it, Avery felt it was necessary sometimes to give the "sex talk" while handing out some condoms. What? He was in their shoes once. Probably a lot less sexually active, but he could relate. But what he couldn't understand was the amount of them. Meh. Oh, young folks never ceased to amuse him. "Something tells me you would." Avery gave Sandra a knowing look, blinking at her slowly. He wouldn't be surprised if she had some secret dark side to her or something--thinking of that was kind of scary.
Meeting someone with the same wavelength as you can be both a blessing and a curse. The humor and jokes are similar and laughter was easy, but then again, when you were too alike, then things got weird. Like, wondering if you separated at birth...ten years apart...whatever. Thing is, they were way too similar. If Avery was the he was currently when he was back at the Academy, he was sure they'd be best friends or something. Very derpy and crazy best friends. Yes. "Fiiiine," he whined in the same tone as Sandra's. Avery teased her by sticking out his tongue, though he really shouldn't provoke her. He was just as ticklish to be honest, if not more. Any slight touch would set Avery into giggles. "Pfft, I'm sorry~" He gave her an overexaggerated pout, cooing, "Want me to kiss it for you~?" Avery tilted his head, blinking at her. He didn't think anyone wanted that from him, honestly. Giving into his affection was like death. "Ha, you ask for too much, woman!" he exclaimed, poking Sandra on the forehead. He didn't even know where to buy shamwow!
"You'd be a very sad panda~" Avery nodded for good measure. Life without Avery was like...life without any sugar or something. And sugar was amazing, thank you very much. Besides, he was the only one who actually brought life into this medical wing. All the other doctors and nurses were all boring and lifeless and stiff. Not fun at all. "Nah, that's only you!" Though he remembered reading a story about a vampire rabbit when he was younger who would suck out all the juice from the vegetables. Oh, the horror! "Heh. Knew it. But thanks for bringing in the business~" It had been boring all alone in his office before Sandra came in here. A few more students? Hell yes he'd take it. Anything was better than being cooped up in his office in solitude. That was the one thing Avery hated about being the nurse. Some days were busy, some days were slow, and some days passed without him seeing a single person. He was lonely. "I don't think pink is my color," he pointed out, craning his neck to look over at the mirror. Him? Pink? No. He was manly. And pink wasn't manly. "Oh God." All it took was for Sandra to say "Matt's cardigan" and he completely understood. Almost reflexively his fingers came to grasp the bridge of his nose. "Just...no." Words cannot fathom. He liked Matt and everything, but just...no.
Note to self: never spill anything gossip worthy around Avery. He'd flip shit. "Well if you weren't contradicting yourself, maybe I'd stay quiet!" he exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air out of exasperation. "There's no need to lie, Sandra~" he said as if he understood what she was feeling right now. He was the master of reading emotions and this was setting off radars in Avery's head. Even if he really didn't know what was going on half of the time. "Aww, I was actually kind of looking forward to, though~" Avery saw Devin pretty often in the medical wing, so it was like impossible not to bring this up. Not the topic specifically, but maybe just Sandra. He was tempted to see the reaction. Hell, he could even act as a messenger! "A week?" Avery repeated, laughing as he shook his head. Though that was probably the longest time that they haven't seen each other. "Fine. Deal." But he still eyed Sandra suspiciously. Oh, young love. He'd be counting down the days until they showed up together holding hands. Avery called it!
Avery rolled his eyes, taking his lollipop out momentarily to say, "You're welcome~" and popped it back in as he patted Sandra on the head. The things lollipops made people do. It was like magic; biggest reason why he kept them around. Okay, mainly they were for himself. But it did help with dealing with some patients! "Ummm~" Avery stared at her skeptically before shaking his head firmly. "Nope! Off to class you go~!" Avery jumped up, now dragging Sandra along by the arm as he skipped towards the door. "Education comes first!" he sang before shoving her out the door, closing the door quickly afterwards. After a moment of silence he felt bad, so he uncovered the blinds of the window near the door, waving childishly and innocently to Sandra as he taunted her by dancing.
And for good measure, slipped a lollipop under the door. Lollipops solved everything.
end thread.
