“I’m going out, don’t wait up.” Her voice was level and somewhat emotionless as she stood in the foyer, hand on the door. Her dad was lazily watching TV, not even taking a moment to glance her way. His acknowledgement to her words was a faint grunt and a “whatever”, to which she narrowed her eyes. Ever since that night with Josh, things had altered. He was even more distant, but when he grew angry the anger had increased from before. Small things blew up into big things, and big things blew up into even larger things. Lark was really struggling with her home life, and it was forever getting worse as time passed on. Am I going to survive until my eighteenth birthday? The question actually scared her. She watched Frank with disgust for a long moment before leaving the house. There was no need to be silent when shutting the door either; if only she could take out her anger on Frank the way she did the front door every time he pissed her off. She would have taken the car, but there was no way she was going to test any of that with her father home. At least she was going to go and hang out with Gale today. That was going to be a bit of a relief. She needed someone to help take her mind off of things.
Eventually Lark found herself at the mall. It was not a place she would normally go to, but figured today would be an exception. Gale wanted to have some buddy buddy time, and she was willing to oblige. Lark would do just about anything for her friends. The entrance was fairly crowded, and the smells of the food court wafted over her senses. For a brief moment her mouth watered at the thought of finding some food. Best to wait for Gale. She felt too antsy to stand at the main doors to the building, though, and so she strode off towards the shops at the other end. There were so many different places and things to buy, and thanks to her new job she actually had money to spend. Eventually her feet carried her towards Hot Topic, and decided to have a stop inside. There were band t-shirts galore, and of course the music playing throughout the store was always a welcomed thing. Everywhere else was pop and rap music, but Hot Topic was all about rock and metal. Something Lark could definitely appreciate. Quickly, the girl yanked out her phone and shot Gale a quick text message. “In Hot Topic checking out their t-shirts and Converse. I’ll just meet you there.” It would save them both from searching the mall for one another, and it would give Lark a chance to browse their sales. Maybe she could get a little something while she was here.

Gale was a bit of the typical male stereotype. No, he was not gay, or anything of the sort, but he did enjoy shopping. Oddly enough, he also enjoyed female company more, usually. He had some male friends, like Josh, but for the most part he just got along with females better. Gale thought that sometimes it was because he was almost too friendly. Some people where okay with that, some people weren't. It was usually those in his own element that he got along with real well. They where usually as open and outgoing as he was. Occasionally, he did find somebody who he got along with outside of his element. Being the water leader, he was painstakingly loyal to his own element. Although, Lark, who he was actually going to meet at the mall now, was a fire, she was just on the same alliance as him. She had joined the side of Earth and Water, and despite the rocky first meeting, had grown to become pretty good friends.
Gale had been at his parents house in the hollow, so he decided to just ride his bike to the mall. He wasn't one for exercising a whole lot, but he liked to go for a bike ride every now and then. Plus, he - unfortunatly - didn't have his license yet, so he was stuck walking or biking everywhere. He had his permit for quite a while, he just hadn't yet went in to take his test. Mostly it was just because he was a slacker, that and he didn't have a whole lot of practice. He rode up to the front of the mall on his bike and put it on the bike rack, putting the bike chain on it to prevent it from getting stolen. That didn't happen a whole lot, but there was always that possibility. He looked at his phone before going in, and saw the text from Lark. Right- O. Just got here. I'll come find you. He replied back quickly.
He made his way into the mall, shoving his hands in the pockets of his dark blue jacket. Hot topic was actually a store he didn't mind shopping in. Most of his clothing was made up of dark clothing, and he enjoyed the band tee- shirts. He actually bought a lot of clothes from there. He just didn't buy the jeans for the most part. Gale and skinny jeans just didn't go together. He didn't like wearing them. His hands where shoved in his pockets as he made his way into the mall, his grey and white vans not really making a sound as he walked. He had recently gotten a hair cut, and it was already starting to grow back out. He wanted his hair long again, he missed it. But the short look made him look older, he thought.
Gale walked into hot topic, and took a moment to glance around the store, before training his eyes to look for Lark. She had said she would be in here, and he knew her well enough now to know she wasn't going to just ditch him. He walked a little deeper into the store and saw her looking at the t-shirts. "Hey girl hey." He greeted, in a purposely girly voice as he walked up next to her, and hip-checked her lightly. "How are you this fine, fine day?" He glanced up at the wall of t-shirts, and took in the music that was playing. He rather enjoyed this type of music, and found that by spending more time with Lark he was starting to enjoy heavy rock a whole lot more. "So whats the plan for today? Burn holes in our wallets or just try everything on and leave?" He smiled over at her, raising an eyebrow.

Lark bobbed her head to the music, hands shoved in her pockets as she perused the clothing racks full of t-shirts. Some bands she recognized, others she didn't, but the temptation to buy a few was most certainly there. Her lips moved as she mouthed the words to the song playing overhead before receiving a text back. She checked her phone and smiled before returning to the shirts. Just as Lark picked one up to examine the artwork (and possibly buy it), a familiar voice reached her ears and she felt the bump on her side. Lark smiled and bumped him back lightly. "Hey, girl, hey," She replied with a chuckle. Seriously, Gale was practically like the gay best friend. He wasn't gay, but that sort of friendship existed between them. They could do things like this and Lark felt more comfortable doing it with him than with other people. She supposed it was his personality, the way he acted that gave her security in being a little more...stupid than usual. "Doing pretty decent I suppose," Lark replied with a nod. "How about you?" Ashton was slowly working wonders on the girl; before her silence was the norm, questions left unanswered, but now it seemed rather simple to answer and receive answers in return. Sometimes Lark would shut down and give roundabout responses if the question became too personal or someone was prying too deep (which normally resulted in anger instead of silence), but she was improving.
"I say we do both. It can't hurt to try on a bunch of shit and then buy a few random things here and there." Now that Lark had her own money to spend, it made sense to buy something. Long it had been since she had been able to say 'I really want that' and actually be able to buy it. Her parents--before the divorce--were not unwilling to get her things she wanted but now only the basics had been offered her. Even then, it was a struggle. Lark grabbed a few t-shirts she really liked and walked towards the cash register. Once bought she glanced back to Gale with a smile. "So, where to? Have any ideas? I'm really not all that picky so..." She shrugged and stepped out of Hot Topic, glancing back and forth to see all of the shops that lined their path. So many options, so many opportunities to goof around and cause a little trouble. Lark liked the prospect of that. A good distraction. That, and she would be less inclined to go and spend a bunch of money as well. She motioned for Gale to follow as she looked at one of the mall map directories; it really proved how little she visited the place. She tapped her chin. "Hmm...clothes, music, food? I know we'll have to stop at some point so I can stuff my face. No choice on that one." Lark allowed her finger to run over the map as she tried to figure out what places were where, so they could see what places they might want to go to. Being one to normally avoid the mall, she did not want to wander into every single store.

It was almost funny how close he felt to Lark, beings how they hadn't know each other for very long, and that she was a fire. He hadn't ever really liked fire, the elementals and the actual thing. He hated all of it. But he had a legit reason, I mean, if your father burned alive in a fire, you probably wouldn't enjoy it very much either. Lark though, was different. They got along swimmingly. He was a silly person as it was, but she was somebody he could be silly with. Stupid, even. They acted like complete idiots together, but that was alright. He rolled his eyes at her comment, before laughing. "I'm alright. Lookin' forward to going shopping." He said, his smile brightening a little. Most guys wouldn't say that. "Y' know. Gettin' our nails done, and sitting around talking about all the latest gossip."
He was obviously kidding, but it was still funny. He was secure enough with himself to act completely gay and be comfortable with it. A lot of guys did that, that much he knew. Although, unlike many, Gale knew he wasn't gay. Not that there was anything wrong with it, it just wasn't his cup of tea. "Sounds good to me. Just don't drag me into Victoria Secret..." He stopped, and paused for a moment, obviously pondering something. "On second thought, go ahead." He smirked a little. There where always hot girls in there. Besides, the giant posters of half naked women all over the walls? That was enough reason for any guy to be willing to go in there. He was a guy, what could he say. He cleared his throat for a moment, shoving his hands back in his pockets as she went up to the check out stand and bought a few things. He wasn't going to buy anything in the first store he went to. Number one rule of not spending all your money when you shop.
"Hmm..." He said, tapping his chin dramatically. " I have no clue. I say we hit Zumiez, before we go. Or whatever." He wasn't into shopping at the mall too much, but it was still one of his favorite stores. He looked at the map with her, and bit his lip a little in thought. "We can get food now. I'm starving." He said, patting his stomach, smiling a little. "But I am always hungry so, I guess I'm not the best judge for that." And it was true. he had the typical stomach of a teen aged boy. He nodded to her, and smiled a little bit, before linking his arm with hers and starting to drag her off to the food court. "Off we goo... into the wild blue yonder..." He sang a little, as he drug her off into the food court and inhaled deeply. "Now comes the hard part. What the hell should we eat?" He said, dropping her arm and glancing around. "Everything smells so delish."

Hanging out with the guys was so simple; although she was capable of doing the more feminine things she merely enjoyed other things in life more. Getting her nails done, fussing over her hair, shopping for the latest fashions and guffawing over fancy purses and high heels simply did not offer Lark much (if any) satisfaction. Even so, shopping was not out of the question. She could enjoy it. A smirk played on her lips. “Oh, oh yes,” Lark agreed, nodding her head with a faint roll of the eyes. “I mean, I was just telling my girlfriends the other day how eager I was to finally get my nails done. Did you hear about Suzie and her most recent breakup? Hoooly shit. And I really should do something with my hair…” She flipped her hand down to add a dramatic flair. Someone wandering by them glanced between the two students with a raised eyebrow before wandering on. Lark laughed. Slowly but surely the girl was emerging from her shell. She had always held an air of confidence around strangers but it was even easier to display it now. The Earth and Water students (including Gale) really drew her out. “I wasn’t even planning on going into that store.” Lark replied, and then added when he changed his mind, “You are such a guy. But whatever makes you happy. I suppose that means I get to force you to try on a bra.” And she would. It simply had to be done! There was no way around it now. And she could use her phone to take a picture and hold it against him for any future blackmailing needs. She mentally rubbed her hands together in eagerness.
“Zumiez? I guess we can go there if ya want. I’m up for hitting up just about any store. Unless it involves lots of perfume because that burns my nose.” Lark wriggled the tip of her nose at the thought of inhaling all of those intense scents at once. They clashed and mingled into one big blob of nose hair disintegrating fog. She honestly did not understand how other girls were able to pinpoint which scent was their favorite when all of them were in one confined space. Maybe it was a talent she did not inherit? “I’m always hungry too brah,” She agreed to his suggestion. Lark had a high metabolism and did not mind stuffing her face every now and again. “So we can do that first. I’m ready to go and fatten myself up on food court delicacies.” Lark allowed Gale to link arms with her and move onward towards their food-laden destination. Already the scents of the court were drawing her mouth to water and almost everything looked appetizing at this point. She laughed as he sang; his humor kept her light hearted and at ease, even among a huge mass of people at the mall. Her eyes skipped from one sign to the next to take in her options. “Hmm. That’s a good question.” So much to choose from, and only one stomach to feed! She snapped her fingers as her gaze met with a familiar sign. “I’m thinking I’ll do Subway. You?” She wandered over to the line at Subway and grabbed her favorite sandwich: ham and Swiss cheese, toasted with pepper and oregano. Once paid for she sat down and waited for Gale to join her. Then, they could begin their shopping escapade.

That was one thing Gale had to say he liked about Lark. How easy she was to get along with. He tended to get along better with females anyways, but she was not a typical female. She wasn't afraid to goof around and have fun. And he was pretty sure she wouldn't cry if she got dirt under her fingernails. No, he knew her well enough at this point to know she was a tom boy and he liked that about her. If she wasn't , well , she may not be as easy to get along with. He was just that kind of guy though. "No way girlfriend. Please, tell me more." He said, in his most girly voice possible, and flipped his head, before running his fingers through it. "I know my hair looks terrible. I think I'm ready for a perm." He said, in the same tone, trying to act serious. A few people gave him a weird look, and he too returned it. If people wanted to look at him funny, he would look at them funny back. That usually made peoples heads turn pretty fast and walk away. Through a bright smile crossed his face as he looked back at Lark. Always the joker, this boy was. He laughed and shrugged at her comment. "What can I say? Can't deny the chance to stare a beautiful woman." He smirked and winked at her, before sighing, and placing his hands on his chest. "Well okay, if you insist, but I don't think I've quite outgrown my training bra yet." This time he managed to keep a fairy serious face, and leaned towards her a little and lowered his voice almost to a whisper. "I'm a late bloomer."
He was a total goofball, there was no doubt about it. Probably why he got along with everybody so well. He didn't care what anybody said about him, because he was always making a fool of himself, and bringing himself down on purpose. If you thought lowly of yourself, if everybody else did too, it wouldn't matter. At least that was the way he saw it. He had fairly high esteem, and everybody knew that, he just didn't act like it all the time. He nodded a bit at her. "Thank GOD. I can't stand those stores that just feel the need to jump you with purfume as soon as you walk in the door. It's like, excuse me! I don't want to smell like I rolled in a rose garden for eternity." He rolled his eyes dramatically, though his comment was real. He wasn't using his valley girl voice, which truthfully just seemed to make him sound more gay. "But really, I'm glad you don't want to go into those stores. Because I wouldn't go with you." He shook his head and laughed a little bit, rubbing the back of his neck slightly. He nodded and patted his own stomach a little bit at her mention of the food court. " Yes, let's gourge ourselves and get fat for winter. Like chipmunks. Better start stuffing your pockets too, Lark." He said, raising an eyebrow at her as they made their way to the food courts. "Mmm, I'm getting pizza. Peace." He said, smiling a little as he made his way to the line, ordering a slice of pepparoni - since the slices where pretty much gigantor, and went and sat down across from Lark. " Mmm, Junkfood, what would we do without it?" He said, laughing a little as he took a bite. "So where you wanna go to first, captain?"

Lark reached over and ruffled his hair, laughing. "You would look absolutely gorgeous with a perm," She teased with a bright smile. She watched as Gale and a passerby exchanged a glance and that only made her laugh more. Really, people were far too concerned with other people. Lark did not see what was wrong with them joking around and having fun. It was a good day to do so, and say 'fuck it' to everyone else. She needed a mental reprieve from everything she was dealing with at home, and being with friends like Gale was an excellent distraction. She rolled her eyes and nudged him to the side. "And you have to go into Victoria's Secret to do that? You could just...get a magazine or stare at the ones walking by." That's what guys did right? Watch pretty girls walk by and rate their asses silently between one another, or some shit. Whatever floated their boat, she supposed. Most girls probably did the same thing. It was still amusing to know that he was willing to go into a store full of underwear and bras simply to see the women there. No shame! "Aww you poor thing. I'm sure they have something for the flat-chested girls that still want to buy expensive bras." She smirked and chuckled, the image incredibly amusing. Lark was not exactly a size D herself and refused to spend a shit ton of money on a bra that didn't need to support much of anything. She patted him on the head at his confession and refrained from laughing even more. Really, if she did she might start crying and it would just be a mess. I don't even know what to do with this kid! She enjoyed his company though.
Mall shopping was probably the easiest way for someone like Lark to actually enjoy shopping. You did not have to go into every store, or get stuck in one of them without any other options. She had free reign. It meant she could avoid the shoe stores (unless they had her Converse, in which case fuck yes) and the accessory stores with purses and things she rarely used, and perfume. Fortunately Gale agreed with her. "I'd much rather roll in a rose garden than get sprayed in the face with that shit. I don't mind one or two smells but seriously they go overboard." She would have to walk out of the store, test the perfume, and walk back in just so she could smell the one she was interested in. Good thing perfume was not something she bought on a regular basis. It saved her poor nose a lot of grief. "Actually I could probably convince you to go in with me," A mischievous glint flashed in her eyes. "I would just have to come up with a way to do it. Money? Food?" Speaking of food she was growing more and more hungry with each passing second and figured it might be best to find some sustenance before wandering the mall for the next however many hours they were going to go around being ridiculous and having fun. "At least we'll be bad ass chipmunks. Maybe not as cute and fuzzy but still bad ass." She parted ways with him to get the food and met up at the table. Lark took a bite and did not hesitate to talk with her mouth half full. No manners. "Miserable. Gotta love the junkfood, brah." Although she had to admit her subway sandwich was quite a bit healthier than a pizza slice. After all, that one guy managed to lose a bunch of weight on a Subway diet. "I'm seriously hung up on the bra thing," She said, taking another bite. "I want to see this. And take a picture. So maybe we'll hit up one of those stores first."

Gale placed his hand on his chest dramatically and scoffed as if he was offended. "As if I wasn't absolutely gorgeous anyways?" He said, raising an eyebrow at her and laughing before dropping his hand. He was being a drama queen on purpose. But it was hilarious. " Well nobody said I wasn't doing that. But have you seen those victorias secret girls? Those are the girls every guy dreams of landing with but knows that we will never get." He said, shrugging a little bit. That made him sound like a man whore, which was not what he was going for, but oh well. Lark knew him well enough to know that he wasn't like that. But it was true. And those Victoria Secret models where pretty damn hot. He was pretty sure just about every guy fantasized about them. "But hey that doesn't matter I've got a beautiful woman with me now." He said, smiling warmly at her. It wasn't really in a flirtatious way, but he was being nice. He really did think that Lark was pretty, but he would feel strange flirting with her. He couldn't help but laugh with her. He couldn't figure out his own personality sometimes. "Well I sure hope so. God knows I want to spend $120 dollars on some sexy lingerie or something."
Gale actually didn't usually go to the mall to actually shop. While he liked wearing nice and fairly expensive clothes, he ususally went to cause trouble. Hey, what could the boy say, he enjoyed causing mayhem and making people stare. Although he had an idea that today was going to be more of him embarassing himself and that was how he was going to have his fun today. But Gale, Embarassed? That wasn't in his dictionary. "They probably all reek from being in that stuffy space all day, that's probably why they do it." He offered, as if it was the most obvious answer in the world. Although he was being sarcastic, it would make sense. I mean, why else would somebody spray a butt load of purfume? He laughed at her next comment, and smiled brightly at her, before placing a hand on his hip. "Lark. Darling. Show me the money and I'm your man. Pay me enough and I will go just about anywhere." He laughed again, and shook his head. Would he do anything for money? Yep. Even a stupid dare. "Hey, speak for yourself. I am cute and fuzzy." He said, pointing at her. He too didn't have the best manners, so waiting to swallow first, esspecially when in Lark's company, wasn't exactly on the menu. "We're gonna die and get fat off this." He swallowed, and blinked for a minute. "Only, you know, in reverse order." He laughed a bit before taking another bite, and raising an eyebrow at her. "Well I don't think my boobs are impressive enough to draw much attention in a bra. But if it's what you want, it's what you will get!" He said, nodding, before finishing off his slice of pizza. "When your ready, we will continue in our journey on stealing my manhood." He laughed, obviously joking. He wasn't afraid to show a bit of a feminine side. Even if it meant wearing a bra, just for shits and giggles.

Lark snorted a laugh and shook her head at her friend. Seriously, Gale was so ridiculous she could hardly contain her laughter and smiles around him. It was easy to be herself around Joshua, Ashton, and Nell too but this guy was so incredibly quirky there was not much else to do but go along with him. "Oh, you're such an egotistical ass," She teased with a smirk, nudging him hard in the ribs. It was not meant to hurt though. "You realize...that I'm a girl, and I'm straight. I don't particularly take to standing in front of Victoria's Secret and drooling over other women." While that was fine for some girls if they were into that sort of thing, Lark would feel so incredibly awkward doing such a thing. Hell, she felt weird going into the store in general. She never went out of her way to buy anything sexy or lacy so there was no point in spending all of that money. They did have decent sales on regular underwear though. She could handle that. Flirting or not, Gale's complement caused Lark to scratch at her cheek and grow a little warm with embarrassment. She did not get complemented like that very often. "If you say so. I have a pretty beautiful woman tagging along with me too." Anything to take the heat of embarrassment off of herself. She had a hard time swallowing complements at times. If she received them more it could be different but as it was she only heard them on rare occasions. Not that she fished for them either. Lark wanted people to give her complements when they saw fit, not because she wanted to hear them. She laughed again and held her stomach; it was starting to hurt. "Oh god yeah. I mean, what better way to spend a hundred and twenty bucks? Fuck buying food or paying rent. Bras are where it's at."
Just the thought of those women spraying themselves with the perfume to cover up their body odor really did make her cringe. That was absolutely disgusting. It was, of course, a joke but now Lark would never look at them the same way again. She would automatically glance down to see if they had pit stains or if one smelled stronger than another to hide their scent. A mischievous glint flashed in the girls' eyes. "Oh is that so? You'd go into a gay strip club with me then? To see all of those men strippin' in down on the tables?" Just the image made her feel embarrassed but Lark was not going to display that to Gale. She was trying to see how far he was willing to go, not her. She would be screwed if he actually said yes and made it a mission to go. Can someone say awkward? Yes. Lark can. She smiled at him and patted his head affectionately. "You just keep thinking that my little chipmunk friend. Unfortunately you're not chubby enough to be one. Gotta fatten you up a little." Their chubbiness probably came from the fact that they stuffed their cheeks with seeds and acorns but even so being to literal would ruin the joke. And that would be boring. She really could not stop laughing! Gale was now officially tying with laughter as the best medicine. "No no, I think you had it right the first time," She teased, trying to fight back more bouts of giggling. Lark made a fistpump and made a silent 'yes!' before finishing off her sandwich and standing up. "We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of bras!" Lark sang, bobbling her head back and forth as she did so. It actually rhymed. She would definitely have to use that later.

Gale knew he had a bit of an ego. However, it was more of a cover up than anything. The boy didn't have very good confidence in most of his abilities. Pretending like he was confident, however, was the best way to go about things. At least how he saw it, it was. He laughed a little at her comment, and then dramatically cringed and brought both hands to his ribs where she had nudged him. It didn't hurt at all, but he was just being a drama queen. "But alas, you've slain me. Farewell, cruel, cruel world..." He said, his voice cracking purposely, as he smirked at her. He shook his head at her comment. "Right, all you have to do is stare in the mirror for that!" He smiled brightly at his friend. That was just the thing about Gale. He was always showering his friends with compliments. If he could make somebody smile, that was all he needed to make himself happy. He really wasn't flirting, as he was pretty confident that Lark had her eyes on somebody else, but telling her she was pretty wasn't going to hurt anything. "Well thanks. I try hard to be beautiful. Beauty like this just doesn't come natural you know." He was such a joker, he found it hard not to laugh at his own jokes. "Exactly. Who needs food or a roof over their heads? But everybody need's expensive fancy bras!"
Gale had a problem with ruining perfectly good things for people just by his comments. It wasn't something he did on purpose, but hey, it just happened. He couldn't think he would be able to stand working in the mall. Because now all he was going to imagine was a bunch of sweaty people running around trying to sell you clothes that where too tight, anyways. "Well... that might be a stretch. But if it's what you really want..." He smirked and shrugged his shoulders. He may have been in touch with his feminine side, but he was really not too keen on seeing a bunch of men get naked on a stage. In fact, the thought almost made him cringe. "On another note, unless it's me stripping, people aren't going to want to pay to see that." This time he shrugged his shoulders and managed to keep a straight face. It was not his forte to be serious, but Lark probably knew he was kidding. This kid was always kidding. Gale puffed out his cheeks before patting his stomach. "Come on girl, I'm plenty fat. You could probably feed a third world country with me." He was joking, obviously. He was almost too skinny. His fast metabolism worked for him, even though he rarely seemed to get off the couch unless he was swimming. When they both stood up, Gale hooked his arm with Lark's and started skipping a little bit. "Lions and tigers and bra's, oh my!" He said, jokingly, as they made their way towards the store. He was silently hoping Lark wasn't going to make him put on a bra.

Lark rolled her eyes. "You are such a drama queen," She pointed out with a humored chuckle. It could be worse; Gale could take the title seriously and cause a bunch of actual drama all over the place. Lark never coped well with that sort of thing though. She was sure that their friendship would not be quite so strong if he were anything but himself. She glanced over at him and smiled a little. There was an appreciative glow in her eyes. "If you say so. I don't normally keep a mirror on me though. Unless you can magically turn into one." Forever dodging the complements. She was grateful for them though, because she did not receive them but every so often. Gale was a good friend and Lark had a feeling that he would not be offering up these comments if he did not believe them to be true. There were not many people placed in that category. "It could be natural beauty," She replied, hands in her pockets. "But I mean...if you're admitting to having plastic surgery..." That would be so incredibly awkward. To suddenly have him come up to her and admit that his face was not actually his own? Not that people could not do as they wanted, it would simply be unexpected and not really something she would be able to respond to. "I would sell everything I own just to have a stash of fancy bras. I could make a nice bed, and a pillow at least." She found it incredibly amusing that they were discussing undergarments; one of them was a guy and the other never really spent time buying fancy bras or underwear. They seemed a bit unnecessary.
There were very few people Lark felt comfortable joking around like this with. Gale was one of them. Josh she might be able to but he was like her big brother and could potentially be the most awkward discussion ever. Nell, possibly could have a few fun giggles. Ashton...she could not even think about it. "You are so cocky." Lark nudged him again. That was fine though, his confidence was definitely not a bad thing. It was probably helpful, if anything. "But I'm pretty sure those guys make perfectly good money without you there. Besides...I wouldn't want to watch you strip. No offense." She put her hands up and shook her head a bit, though she was still smiling. The girl had only seen men partially naked (shirts off, obviously) and had no intent on willingly going to see a bunch of them dance around. Brett did not count, because she was drunk and she could not even remember much after the kiss. "Okay okay, so you're big as a whale. I didn't want to tell you...but I figured it might hurt your feelings." She smirked at him, clearly joking. Gale was far from being fat and he probably knew that. Besides, this entire conversation was entirely random and hilarious anyway. If he were to take offense now she'd have to wonder what was wrong with him. She laughed and wandered into the store; even though she was a girl being in Victoria's Secret it was still not something she was accustomed to. She did not show this to Gale though. Instead she pulled a random, black lacy bra off of the rack and handed it over to him. "Absolutely gorgeous my friend. You should get a pair of lacy underwear to go with it."

Gale waved his hand as if waving off what she was saying. "Hey hey, I am not a drama queen." He looked at her sternly for a moment. "I'm too pretty for that." He tried to stop the smile that cracked over his lips, but he couldn't. He laughed a little bit and shook his head. Only his friends would probably know that he wasn't gay. But hey, he could dull that down, but that was the reason his friends loved him wasn't it? He was only the best thing since sliced bread. "I might be awesome, but I'm not magic, darlin'. Sorry." He laughed a bit, and ran his fingers back through his hair. It was starting to grow back out again. He wasn't sure if he wanted to make it long again or not. At her comment he ran his hand across his face and sighed. "You caught me." He shrugged, and smirked a little. "This face is made of porcelain. Like.. those dolls. That's why I'm so sexy." He stopped for a moment and thought. "Actually I take that back because those dolls are creepy as fuck. Used to give me nightmares as a kid." He shivered a little bit. Lark would know he was joking about the plastic surgery. Not that he would ever be able to afford that as it is. "Oh me too. I'd love to sleep on bra's all day. That's pimp status, homie."
Gale was always good for making his friends laugh if nothing else. He felt that was his one purpose in this world. Just to brighten everybody elses days. He put everybody ahead of himself. He wasn't sure that was actually a good thing or not, as he would neglect himself just to make somebody else happy. He would give his life to save somebody if he had to. No, he wasn't the bravest man out there, but he was probably the most selfless. "Is cocky bad?" He asked, with a small smirk on his face as he nudged her back. "Don't deny it. You would love to watch me strip." He laughed at her again, now it was obvious that he was joking. Lark was probably one of his very best friends. So even if she asked, really, he probably wouldn't ever strip for her. Not that he thought she would ask, anyways. Being naked in front of people certainly was not one of his most skilled areas. He nodded and sighed, patting his stomach. "That's why they don't me swim in the pacific ocean. They think I might scare the fishermen. Think I'm a whale coming to capsize their ship." He nodded, trying to stay serious. He shoved his hands in his pockets and walked into victoria's secret with her. He got a few looks from girls, to which he just gave some sideways smirks. He didn't want to seem like a creeper wandering around in the store checking girls out. He jumped a little as Lark handed the bra to him, and took it from her, holding it up against his chest. "Not sure I've got the credentials for this one. Unless we are going to stuff it." He took it off, and didn't care that people where watching, as he tried to clip it around him. "How the hell do you do this?"

Lark knew for a fact that Gale wasn't gay, but he was definitely comfortable enough in his sexuality to act as though he was. It was always amusing to deal with people who did not care if they acted of a different sexual orientation around other people, because you knew that they were straight, but other people probably didn't. The looks and raised eyebrows made everything that much more hilarious. "Oh oh right...my apologies. I didn't mean to offend your beautiful-ness." She rolled her eyes and chuckled, allowing him to have his glamour moment. Really, Gale was enjoyable to be around simply because of his attitude. Made her feel comfortable acting like an idiot. It was always more fun when you didn't go it alone. Lark stomped her foot and looked indignant. "And why not? You should be magical. With like...a wand and shit." She waved her finger around in a circle as though she wielded a wand, bobbling her head back and forth. If someone could actually be magical that would be awesome, but unfortunately she didn't believe in magic. All illusions. Tricks. "So if I punch you in the face you'll just...shatter? That would be pretty intense. Especially in slow motion." Lark tapped her chin, as though imagining what would happen should she actually film her shattering Gale's face in some sort of slow motion type deal. Kinda creepy now that she realized she was imagining this. Not that she would do something like that but still. "Eh, they aren't that creepy. Not like they come to life or anything." Oh she hoped that they wouldn't. That would change her outlook on them entirely. She laughed. "So now you're a pimp. A pretty pimp."
Being cocky wasn't always a bad thing, she thought. It at least meant you were confident in yourself, right? There were different levels of arrogance though. There was the basic, "I know I'm good at such and such" and then there was "I'm beast and no one can surpass me. Period." Gale did not seem to be the latter and so Lark shook her head and smiled. "Nah, I don't think so." If he were overly stuck up she probably wouldn't hang around him as much as she did. She had an ego too but sometimes too much was too much. "Sorry brah, but I think I'll continue to deny it." That would seriously be awkward to watch her friend strip. She did not think she could do that and say she felt the least bit comfortable. Not because she thought him to be ugly or unattractive but because they were friends. She supposed he would feel the same about her. "Ohhh," Lark appeared to have realized something. "So that explains why they were having those ship disappearances I had been hearing about. At least I know who to blame." She smirked and shrugged. "But hey, your secret is safe with me." In all seriousness, Lark was actually good at keeping secrets; she did not like people to babble away about her life and the things she confided in others so why would she feel inclined to do the same? She laughed and covered part of her face as Gale tried the bra on. Oh my god. She was expecting him to do it but at the same time she wasn't. "Hmm. Yeah we should stuff it. I think the color looks good on you so it would be worth it." She reached out and poked it, not noticing that other people were watching this all unfold. Lark sighed and rolled her eyes, now feeling slightly awkward. "Turn around and I'll show you."
