THREE IS A CHARM Her dad was going to kill her. Stood at the foot of her bed, dressed in nothing but her underwear and an old football jersey that swamped her slim shoulders, Ridley stared down at the two boys laying in her bed. They were fast asleep, sprawled across the bed, their limbs tangled in the thick duvet. So she took that moment to study their faces, which were relaxed and smooth and peaceful. It was true what they said, people really did look so much more innocent and vulnerable in sleep. He's going to kill you. Biting back her lower lip, she tiptoed over to where her drawers were and, using the light from her phone as a guide, rummaged around until she found a pair of shorts. Grabbing the first pair she saw, she quietly slipped them on and then moved to her stairs, peeking over her shoulder one last time before she climbed the stairs out of the basement.
It was early, just gone 7 am and although she knew the house was empty, she still checked each and every room to make sure her dad hadn't come home in the middle of the night. Chances were he was still at Renee's and would be for the remainder of the weekend, but she checked anyway, just to be sure. Having him pop up from his room when she had two boys fast asleep in her bed was an unsettling and daunting thought. So it was with bated breath that she creaked open his bedroom door and peered inside. Empty. "Thankgod." Releasing a heavy breath, she blew a wisp of hair from her face and then turned and made her way down the stairs, pushing any worries about her dad to the back of her mind. Sure she was going to have deal with it eventually but right now she had more important things to worry about. Like Felix and Jareth.
The kitchen floor was cold and she wished, idly, that she'd thrown on some socks. She considered going back down into the basement to grab some but the thought of going down there and facing them had a flurry of butterflies whirring up a storm in her stomach. So instead she busied herself about the kitchen, making herself a coffee before she attempted to start breakfast. The butterflies were merciless and as she stirred the batter for the pancakes, she paced across the kitchen, agitated. She was nervous and she hated it. They made her nervous. And it wasn't because she was scared of them or the relationship that they'd all agreed to enter. She was scared of how they would react now, the day after, now that they weren't on a buzz from the alcohol they'd been consuming the night before.
They'd had a few drinks last night. Ridley had been tipsy but sober enough to know what she was doing, to know that this was what she wanted. But maybe Felix and Jay had been drunk. Drunk enough to agree to something crazy like a three-way relationship. People did stupid things when they were drunk right? Ridley knew that better than anyone. What if they woke now and realized what a stupid and huge mistake it was. Maybe they'd think it was too much trouble. Or that they liked being two better than three and left her out in the cold. Or maybe they'd think that the whole thing had been a joke and they'd go on like nothing had happened at all.
Quit it, Frey. Ridley was pretty sure she'd never felt so vulnerable over a guy, or guys, than she did right now. It wasn't something she was used to and it wasn't something she liked and as she moved about the kitchen, grabbing plates and flipping pancakes (the only food she was actually pretty good at making) she worked on calming her nerves; repeating over and over in her head that, Whatever happens, happens. If they were to wake up and pretend nothing had happened then fine, it would suck, but fine, she could deal with that. And if they woke up and remembered and decided that it hadn't been a mistake, that they wanted it too- - she bit back on a goofy smile.
I hope this is okay. || outfit || felix and jareth

He awoke to the smell of pancakes. Felix was asleep next to him and as he came to full wakefulness he blinked a bit. The night had been a bit of an impulse but boy what a good one. He loved the feeling of security that being with his two favorite people brought. With his home life falling apart he needed this.
He sat up slowly and was careful not to wake Felix. He looked around and found a pad of paper and pen. He jotted a quick note for Felix.
Hey handsome,
Breakfast is upstairs if you get this before we get you breakfast in bed. Thanks for an awesome night. It was amazing.
Jay
and then slipped his briefs and pants on before he padded downstairs, "Hey, Riley. Aren't I supposed to be the one cooking for you?" he called gently as he padded over to her. When she wasn't burdened by the pancakes he snuck a quick hug, "Thank you for last night. You are amazing." he said as he hugged her gently. His eyes closed as he took a moment to savor it before releasing her and looking about, "Want me to tackle the eggs while prince charming sleeps?" he asked as he tried to find something to make himself useful.
He felt amazing. It was like he'd gotten a new lease on life and a second chance to live it. He hoped the others would feel the same. They might not but he'd do his best to let them know they were special to him. He finally felt like he mattered to someone.

Felix kept his face in the pillow as he roused into consciousness. Rather unpleasantly, as well. If anyone ever claimed him to be a morning person, he would laugh and then probably choke and die. As a matter of fact, he didn't even want to keep his eyes open for longer than ten seconds. The only thing that gave him reason to stir and shift positions was the smell of food cooking. He dragged his hand down his fast, letting his arm flop next to him. Feeling the paper on his skin, he picked it up and read the note with as much of a smile as he could muster.
Then, looking up at the ceiling, he was disoriented for a moment before realizing where he was and what he had done last night. And he didn't mind at all. It's not like he entered this expecting something else, and he certainly didn't hate either Ridley or Jareth. Just the opposite. He hoped that neither of them saw this as an experiment or something, a fling to test out but then he thought ... what was it? The Fire boy decided that it must have been something he was meant to find out on his own. This relationship business was pretty new to him in general, and with three people? Do I have enough money for them? he thought with sleepy dryness. No doubt it would be more difficult than his first girlfriend in the seventh grade who he kissed once at her house. They held hands in school and that was it. Flings, now he was a bit more familiar with those. But what he had with his partners...it wasn't the same.
As much as he cared about them, he was a little miffed that the two were apparently bright rays of sunshine getting up in the morning. What was that? Pulling on boxers and boxers only, he headed downstairs with half a mind to call them out on being weirdos. But he didn't really have much energy to make an effort for...anything, really, besides collapsing in a chair at the kitchen table once he got downstairs.
He held up his hands, as if starting in on something huge. "Don't be fooled, I'm not actually conscious right now," he said, dropping his hand to scratch his bare stomach. The drowsy tone of his voice was fairly convincing. As was his hair, marginally more curly than it usually was thanks to lack of a brush to comb through his steadily growing fro. "What's cooking?" He stretched his arms out with a yawn, clearly not intending to help them. C'mon, he was technically still asleep, he wouldn't be able to help them out.

THREE IS A CHARM It had taken a long while for Ridley to realize that maybe she wasn't such a good cook, (terrible, according to her brothers.) Ridley hadn't thought she was all that bad, not until she'd started to find bits of left over food stashed in the craziest places - in the plant pots, behind the bread bin, under her brothers beds. She remembered how red faced she'd been when she'd collected the rotting food and had shoved it before her family. She'd been angry and embarrassed and annoyed that they hadn't even bothered to at least put the food in the trash. They had sat with their heads slightly bowed, like scolded children, before Callum had joked that he was glad they wouldn't have to pretend to like her cooking anymore. He'd gotten a face full of three day old lasagne for that one but in the end Ridley had let it go.
Pancakes were about the only thing she was good at making and the only food her brothers would eat that she cooked up so she was pretty confident that Jay and Felix would like them too. She stacked them onto the plate at her side, one after the other so that they formed a nice little tower. The sight and smell of the pancakes had been so tantalizing that she had placed a pancake on the other side of the stove so that she could settle the hungry growl tearing at her insides. She pulled it apart with her fingers and popped bits into her mouth in between pouring the batter and flipping.
She was slipping a pancake onto her tower, wondering how much the boys would want and if she should make more, when the stairs creaked and she heard her bedroom door closing. For a moment she tensed and then immediately shook it off, scolding herself again. Jay spoke and she turned her head back to greet him with a smile. "I couldn't sleep." she admitted, biting back on her lower lip lightly. Pouring some more batter into the pan, she turned the temperature down for a moment and then spun on her heel to face Jay "Good morning." she grinned and pushed herself up onto her tip toes to give him a hug. The butterflies were back and attacking her insides at his mention of last night and she had to bite back on her lower lip again to stop herself from grinning like a goof. "Ah, it was nothing." she waved it off playfully, as if being with two others guys was the norm for her.
"Yeah, you probably should." She grimaced, because she'd probably butcher the eggs too, if she attempted to cook them. "If you don't mind." she added quickly, because he was still her guest and she didn't want him to think he had to do anything he didn't want to. "Did you sleep well?" Speaking through a yawn, she turned her full attention back to the pancake on the stove. Flipping it, she shuffled it off onto the plate and then poured what was left of the batter into the pan. She turned her head to look at Jareth, catching a glimpse of Felix from the corner of her eye.
A smile pulled at her lips at the site of the other Fire, as he slumped into the kitchen chair, clearly still half asleep. "G'morning sunshine." she grinned, unable to help teasing him. She felt his pain though, Ridley might have been the first one awake but she was not a morning person at all. Hell, she was a complete monster if ever woken up earlier than necessary, her brothers could vouch for that. The only reason she'd woken so early this morning was because she'd had two boys in her bed and when she'd remembered how and why she'd had two boys in her bed - she hadn't been able to get back to sleep. "Pancakes." she replied over her shoulder. "You want some coffee?" she grinned again at Felix, who looked like a sleepy little puppy, and shoveled off the last pancake onto a plate.
