Dayone had almost forgotten how warm the sun felt against his face. It had been almost four years since the last time he'd visited a beach and it felt good to be back. It always felt good to hit the beach again when the sun was nice and warm and sunny. If it was a bit overly warm, the water waited for someone to jump in. Nice, soothing, beautiful waves awaited. He couldn't help but feel he was missing something as he walked across the sand barefoot. A backpack hung off his shoulder and one of his hands was occupied by his flip flops. Soon, as the large body of water seemed to be coming closer, he realized the last time he'd spent as much time outside on the beach as he planned to do this afternoon, he had been with his family. His mother included. It'd been a few months before her death.
The memories of that day seemed to linger in his mind. He could remember everything that had happened as if it had just happened the day before. He had such a good memory, he could even describe what his teacher had been wearing as she answered the phone that clung to the wall. A few minutes later, she'd asked him to gather his things and go out into the hall. As soon as he took a step out into the hallway and she'd closed the door behind her, she gave him a big caring hug. He could remember the scent of peach perfume she'd been wearing. He knew teachers weren't really suppose to get in contact with their students, so he knew something was wrong from the gecko. Either something bad happened or she was a very naughty teacher, breaking rules. He remembered his attempts to wipe all the tears from his eyes as they became watery after hearing his mother had died.
Blinking a few times, Dayone made sure no tears fell as he found himself a quiet spot on the sand. Thinking about sad memories like that, would always make him want to cry like he had back then. What's a boy's life without a mother? The reason he's the way he is now is because of how he was raised and who'd gone missing in his life in his most vulnerable stages. His backpack fell to the ground as he let his sandals fall out of his grip. He bent down and pulled out a towel. He stood back up and took his shirt off revealing a mouth watering sight. Now, all he had left was his shorts on. The wind elemental walked closer to the water and sighed. Being blind is obviously one of his weaknesses, so when a volleyball came flying at him from his right side, he didn't see it and had no time to dodge it.
Bam! The volleyball hit him right in the side of his face and oh did it hurt. That is the big disadvantage of being blind...in his right eye...It feels like someone just placed their hand over his eye and blocked out all the light, and all he wants to do is be able to rip the hand away. A lot more worst things could have happened because he'd lost his vision in his right eye, but he's just happy it'd only been a volleyball. Actually he was very pissed off when it came in contact with his face. He shot the hardest death glare he could in the direction that he guessed the volleyball exactly came from. Somewhere to the right. A guy came over with an apologetic smile on his face. "Oh! Sorry, man. Didn't mean for it to hit you," he apologized, before grabbing his ball and walking away. "Is sorry all you're going to fucking say to me!? You probably didn't mean to hit me with you dumb ball, but I still got fucking hit in the face! I'm blind you asshole! Who the hell hits someone that's blind, then only says sorry then walks away!" he growled, watching the guy quickly retreat away from him.
Dayone muttered a few smart words and turned around before something smacked into him again. What the hell! Just my luck! Not something, but more like someone.

Arianna was a frequent visitor to the beach and today was a particularly nice day out. She loved the warmth on her skin and the sand beneath her toes and could spend hours laying out under the sun. She also liked the fact that no one bothered her here as she wasn’t exactly the friendliest person when it came to interacting with people she didn’t know. Growing up without many real friends as a child had made her more independent, and although she had good friends now, she still liked to get away from anything and have some peace and quiet for herself. The water always seemed particularly peaceful and she enjoyed watching it for hours. It was certainly no ocean like the ones she visited back home, but it was the closest thing she had.
She missed being at home with her little brother. They talked everyday but being away made her feel like she had missed the most important moments. Every time she did go home he seemed to be three inches taller and much smarter than he previously had been. It was also hard to see him becoming less and less reliant on her. Years ago he would refuse to go anywhere without her, but now she was lucky if he asked for advice on homework. She had known it would happen eventually, but she missed being depended on in that way. Those words would never be uttered aloud though, god forbid her hardass image be taken away. Only those who were close to her knew she had a brother, if anyone else found out how she doted on him who knows how they would react.
Arianna ran her fingers through the sand, tracing designs all around the towel she was laying on. She watched the people around her and she rolled her eyes behind the aviators she was wearing. Some of them just tried too hard to impress others. To her it wasn’t worth it, especially if it involved sports. Sure she liked watching them on TV but actually playing them was a whole different story. She could only imagine the countless bruises and/or broken bones that would result. No, she was content to lying in her light blue bathing suit and watching people make a fool of themselves in whatever game they were playing. It was quite amusing actually, and it helped pass the time.
She glanced at her watch on her wrist and sighed a little, she didn’t want to go back yet but she was starting to get hungry. Not to mention she was probably going to burn if she stayed out much longer and that could be ugly. She carefully stood up brushing the sand off her legs before slipping a pair of running short on. Then she gathered all her belongings and neatly put them back into her backpack before picking up her sandals from the sand. After shouldering her bag she began walking off the beach running a hand through her hair and trying to keep it from getting in her eyes. She honestly didn’t see the kid in front of her until he turned around and smacked into her. The force knocked her to the ground where she sat in shock for a moment. As her butt remained in the sand she felt herself become more and more angry. “Why don’t you watch where you are walking. You aren’t the only person on this beach. I could have broken my ankle. Idiot.” She huffed before dropping her backpack on the ground. She picked herself up and started dusting the sand off that seemed to be everywhere. “Now I have sand everywhere. I bet you aren’t even sorry.” She mumbled before grabbing her bag once again and turning her attention back the guy and shooting him a glare. He looked familiar but she didn’t know where from nor did she really care. He was cute, but she was pissed.

Dayone came to the beach for one purpose, to relax in the sun, and he got exactly the opposite. At first, everything seemed to be working out fine. It didn't seem like a lot of people were at the beach, so he didn't have to worry about being surrounded by noisy people. The only thing he had to watch out for was sun burns, which he could temperarily aviod with sunscreen. The wind elemental had positive intents that afternoon and he was just minding his own business about to jump in and take a swim, when a volleyball came in contact with the right side of his face. It wasn't a soft tap either. There was a lot of force pushed into the ball and he had felt it. Out of all the people in Maple Hollow, he had been the lucky one to get hit on the side that he couldn't even see with.
To add on to it all, the person responsible for hitting him only muttered a sorry before walking away. He acted as if the volleyball hadn't left a red spot on his cheek from the hard inpact. When he'd confronted the guy, he run away! Again, he tried to mind his own business and ended up getting smacked into again. Dayone could have sworn all he'd done was turn away, but the person he'd smacked into thought different. He almost felt bad when he'd watched her fall onto her butt. Remember, he was almost sorry for her rough landing. He would have helped her up or at least hold out his hand to pull her up, but he was in too sour of a mood, especially since this was his second time getting knocked into by something or someone. Me, watch where I'm walking? Dayone raised his eyebrows in surprise at the girl.
"Excuse me? I'm pretty sure you were the one to bump into me. So why don't you watch where you're fucking walking. I'm quite aware that I'm not the only one on the beach, but I don't think you are," he spat back, a little annoyed. Who did this girl think she was? It was quite obvious, he'd only turned around and she was the one to smack into him. It wasn't his fault he had a hard body and she was the only one to fall back. "You're right. You could have broken your ankle, but that isn't my fault. You're just so weak that when you're body hit into mine, you fell. Don't call me an idiot when it's quite obvious who the real one is." Dayone watched her stand up and dust herself off.
His gaze couldn't help but check her out as she got the sand off of her. Mentally he took notes that she had a nice little figure, but he made sure to be careful enough that she wouldn't notice. Of course he had to turn his head in different angles to get a nice view of the whole thing. A smirk appear on his face as he responded to her comment. "Oh my gosh, you have sand all over you. How tragic! Honestly, I'm not. Like I said, you ran into me. You're just too embarrassed that you're the one in fault to admit it, so you keep blaming me. Blaming a blind man..." he said, while holding his hands up dramatically before dropping them back down. He pretended to be frozen into stone at her glare, striking a frightened pose and staying completely still.

The beach was her sanctuary. It was a place of peace and quiet and she was actually having quite a good day until she ran into this… this frustrating asshole. As much as she loved this place she hated sand. It left her feeling itchy and gross after a few hours and annoyed her to no end and now she was covered in it. Sure she should have been watching where she was going but it wasn’t her fault really. The wind was blowing her hair in her face, and she had been too busy worrying about walking without tripping that she didn’t realize anyone was in front of her. But she would never admit this to him. She had too much pride to say she was in the wrong. Besides he did plenty of things wrong after. The more she thought about it the more she convinced herself that it was in fact, not her fault and entirely his.
As she took in his actions and appearance a little more she wondered if he was as cocky and self-absorbed as he made himself appear. She hated guys like him, guys that seemed to think they owned the world and everyone else should bow before them. It was a shame really, because the more she stared the more she realized how attractive he actually was. She hoped he didn’t notice her staring, but if he commented on it she would find some way to play it off. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that. His ego certainly didn’t need the help. As he spoke she zoned out a little, not catching the first part of what he said. Probably something mean by the way his face looked. She only snapped out of if right when he started insulting her and she felt herself growing more and more annoyed and angry. She knew her face was getting a little red from the combination of the sun and her anger; it could almost be mistaken for a blush until the words started pouring out of her mouth.
“First of all Mr. High and Mighty, it would have been your fault if I would have broken my ankle. But I didn’t fall because I’m weak. Generally when you smack into someone taller and larger than you, you tend to fall down.” She began trying to stay as calm as she could. But it was hard to reign in the anger. It just kept bubbling over. “Second you are an asshole. Seriously where did you learn your manners? Generally when you knock a girl over you are supposed to at least say sorry or help her up. I’m not a piece of trash. Even if I was in the wrong you could be a little more courteous.”
Arianna then realized he was mocking her with his pose and felt like screaming in rage. Instead she settled for leaning down and picking up two large handfuls of sand. She threw them both in his face feeling a little satisfied as he probably hadn’t seen it coming and smirked a little. “I’m not embarrassed. It was your fault, like I said before. But anyway you can obviously see me glare and then mock me for it. So don’t try and make me feel sorry for you.” She finished crossing her arms and giving him a fake smile, trying to play it off like she hadn’t done anything. She was proud of herself she hadn’t screamed at him like she normally would. Throwing sand like a seven year old wasn’t much better, but it was definitely a start in the right direction.

There was only one to blame for Dayone's lack of manner and he would never be able to admit it. Actually, there was more than one person responsible for his lack of manners. This would be his mother, his father, and himself. In many families the mothers are the ones to teach their children proper manners and make sure they kept those manners, but after his mother's death that is when all his manners sunk down into the drain. When a mother wasn't around because she couldn't be or she never was, the father had to make sure their children learned their manners if they hadn't already and keep the manners system alive. In his case, his father was so busy trying to pay bills and make sure there was enough money to put food on the table, he stopped paying attention to if they continued to practice their manners. Being the oldest in families, the oldest children were looked upon to watch over their younger siblings and make sure they kept on track, but Dayone had other plans.
He was about to get ready and spill the beans out to a complete stranger about why he had such horrible manners, but he'd lost his guard. Two handfuls of sand came in contact with his face and he was truly blind for a few moments. It would have felt more painful if he wasn't blind in his right eye, but good thing he could hardly feel a thing. Painful is actually a bad word to describe how he felt when the sand flew into his eyes. It wasn't like there were any rocks in the sand, so he couldn't really say it felt painful. It felt more irritating. The sand was making his eyes itch as he balled his hands up into fist and he began to rub his eye, attempting to get the sand out. He knew he was being a little harsh and he deserved what was coming to him, but he didn't believe he deserved getting sand thrown into his eyes. Of all the things he'd gotten sand thrown into his eyes and they were the most sensitive spot on his body. Actually, the eye area is suppose to be the most sensitive spot of everyone's body.
This girl is nuts and stubborn.... If she hadn't taken such a low blow that even he didn't see coming, he would have continued to say that he was in the right and it was all her fault her butt ended up on the sand. He guessed she would have probably continued to deny it. After he was able to get the sand out of his eyes, at least most of it, it was his turn to glare at her. The difference between his glare and her glare is that his seemed more chilling. He had a more deadly look in his eyes. That's what he gets for being part Thunder. "You're proud of yourself aren't you? Well, are you finished having your fun? 'Cause I'm going to get you back when you least expect it," he growled, before closing the space in between them. He grabbed her by the waist and threw her over his shoulder. "Think you can fucking mess with me?" he asked with a grin.
Dayone started walking towards the beach water and on the way slapped her butt. As he reached the water, he let the same waves roll over his toes, then as he got deeper into the water he waited till it reached over his waist before he threw her off his shoulder and into the water.

A small giggle made its way from her mouth as Arianna watched his face scrunch up. It made him look adorable and not nearly as intimidating. She knew it was a mean thing to do, and it probably hurt like crazy but he deserved it. Besides it was only sand and it would go away after a few moments. She was probably being a bitch and blowing this way out of proportion but he got under her skin. It was also kind of amusing to start arguments and he seemed like a challenge. She was always drawn to challenges, and she was determined to best him. She felt a little bad because she hadn’t realized that the sand would get into his eyes, but it was too late for that now. The damage had been done and she would have to deal with the consequences. She was actually extremely relieved that he hadn’t seen her checking him out, because she was sure he would make fun of her to no end if he had seen. It was a very rare thing for Arianna to meet someone she was interested in, but of course this guy had a horrible personality to go with his good looks. Not that she had a great personality either. He glared at her and she guessed it was supposed to be ‘intimidating’ but it had no effect. It wasn’t the first time someone had sent her a deadly look and it wouldn’t be the last.
She had been completely off her guard when she was suddenly in the air and over his shoulder and she felt her mouth widen in surprise. She hadn’t thought he would actually retaliate and she knew where she would end up, it was only a matter of time. She hurriedly slipped her backpack off her shoulders and threw it to the ground so that all of her stuff wouldn’t get wet and then wrinkled her nose in anger. She beat her fists against his back hoping it would have some affect but deep down she knew it wouldn’t. She tried shocking him a little but he didn’t budge and she saw her time was running out. When he slapped her butt she shrieked in anger and surprise and tried to kick his face but she wasn’t able to get her feet to go back quite that far. “You jerk! What are you doing to me! Let me go!” She yelled drawing the attention of several people nearby. She knew they were probably thinking they were some kind of flirting couple, which made her even angrier. She didn’t want to be associated with this jerk. He probably went for the easy girls and she definitely did not want to be classified as that. She had standards and so far he did not live up to them.
Arianna watched the ground, still squirming the best she could, and saw the water getting closer and closer. Finally he threw her off his shoulder and she shrieked as she went under the cold waves. She pushed herself up to the surface and glared crossing her arms across her chest. “What if I hadn’t known how to swim?! You are such an asshole!” She yelled before wading up to him and then attempting to push him. She didn’t even care if her force didn’t do anything, she was pissed and she wanted to punch him or something but she knew it wouldn’t be worth it. Her shorts were now completely wet and they would take forever to dry, making walking back uncomfortable and definitely not worth it. She walked out of the water and took her shorts off arranging them nicely on the sand near her bag so they would dry before looking back at the guy. “I hope you’re happy now!” She called stamping her foot in the sand a little. She probably looked a little childish but she didn’t know what else to do. No one had ever done anything like that before.

Dayone has always been the type to mind his own business than get into others, unless he found it necessary. There was always the saying, stay out of other people's business and they'll stay out of yours. As he carried the girl on his shoulder, he noticed her squirming and yelling was starting to attract the attention of some people surrounding them, and he just hoped no one would question him. If he were to be stopped, his revenge for the sand in his eyes would be ruined. His brain knew better and he told himself they probably looked like a normal couple playing around. Nothing more threatening than that. If his plan didn't work out as well as he wanted it to be, he'd have to act like he was playing around with her. He couldn't help, but chuckle to himself as he got closer to the water. Little did everyone know, these two didn't even know each other and this was an act of revenge.
He believed throwing her into the water was the best revenge he could get in terms of being stranded on a beach. Actually, he had two ideas in mind, but throwing her into the water popped into his head first. Oh, and would you look at that the water was just a few feet away! The other idea of revenge he'd thought of doing was burying her alive. It wasn't the smartest idea beings she probably wouldn't hold still long enough for him to dig a hole and bury her neck and down in sand, and it would probably look way more violent and threatening than what he'd first planned. Dayone had always considered himself highly intelligent and he had the grades to prove it, but he also thought the chick on his shoulders was pretty smart, too. While making his way over to the water, not only did he notice people watching them, but he noticed she'd dropped her bag. Oh, a smart one, huh?
In a way, he was happy he'd met this complete stranger. She didn't seem like other girls. For one thing, she didn't seem to care that he was part blind. That has been one of the biggest things he's hated since he'd lost his vision in his right eye. Almost every girl he'd run into would claim they felt so sorry for his right eye. The last thing he needs is pity from anyone, especially from girls. To make the pitying even worst, after learning his mother died around the same time he'd lost his vision, some would use that as an excuse to try to be his friend. He was well aware he was a complete asshole and he found nothing positive about himself that could possibly attract a female, so there was only one thing left to believe. They pitied him, felt sorry for him. Though he knew this girl didn't pity him, he was too stubborn to believe she didn't hate him. Well, it was obvious he'd made her bad side, but that's how he sees everyone. Either you pity him or hate him. He's always been to stubborn to believe anyone would fit anywhere in between.
Satisfied, Dayone watched her make her way back up to the surface, and there was that glare away. He didn't know why he found her glares amusing, but they just did, and he couldn't help chuckling. He didn't even care if he seemed even ruder right then. "Well, good thing you do, right? Plus, if you didn't know how to swim why are you wearing a bathing suit and why are you here at the fucking beach alone? Don't try to act like you're not here alone. If you'd came with someone, they would have been trying to rescue you by now," he shot at her, sighing as she trying to push him. He moved back a little bit, but that was about it. "You're even more weak in the water." He watched her exit the water and pull her shorts off to dry. His eyes lingered on her butt, but quickly snapped up to meet her eyes as she turned to face him. "I'm quite please, yes," he answered, slowly getting out of the water.
She looked kind of adorable as she stomped her foot in the sand, but also looked childish. He shook his head with a grin in her direction as he walked passed her and to her stuff. He picked up her shorts and ringed them out. "They won't dry quicker if you don't get any accessed water out of them. Don't your parents teach you anything right?"

Her day was definitely not going how she had planned it. Arianna had wanted to spend a lazy day at the beach for a few hours to just think. Then she was going to go grab some food and maybe a good book and then maybe go for a run. But this was throwing off her schedule. She liked schedules and being organized, disorder gave room to things going wrong. Not to mention she loved to be in control; as soon as control was lost it made her anxious and even more closed off than usual. Her few close friends were constantly trying to take her to parties or get her to let lose, but it didn’t happen often.
As soon as she hit the water she began thinking of ways to exact her own revenge. She still couldn’t believe he had the nerve to do it, and he didn’t even think twice about it. He was going to be tough to beat, but no match for her. She knew she was much more clever than he gave her credit for. She couldn’t wait to see his face when she did retaliate. It would come when he least expected it too which would make it even more satisfying. She wondered what he thought about her. Maybe if they had met under better circumstances she wouldn’t have been so mean. But the more she thought about it the more she shook away that thought. She probably would have been just as hateful, it was in her nature. Plus he didn’t seem like Mr. Sunshine either so he probably would have acted like his same assholey-arrogant self. “You do realize some people come to the beach just to layout right? Some don’t have any intentions of going in the water. Especially with their shorts on. Plus what if I was here with someone like my boyfriend and he went to go get something to eat? He could come back and beat your ass.” He wouldn’t know if she was single or not. Although she didn’t need a guy, not to defend her anyway. She was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. “Better be glad I’m too much of a bitch to have one.” She muttered half hoping he wouldn’t hear her. Hearing his comment about her being weak she rolled her eyes a little. “Sorry I’m not strong like you are. I’m just a girl though so it would be a little weird if I was stronger than you.” She pointed out, wrinkling her nose a little at the thought. All the girls that were body builders with weird amounts of muscle always bothered her. She thought it wasn’t worth it in the end. Sure being that strong would be cool, but clothes wouldn’t fit the same and body proportions would be all thrown off.
She watched him approach curiously, wondering if he would actually attack her again. But instead he rung her shorts out, making her eyebrows shoot up in surprise. But of course and insult followed making the surprise vanish from her face. She knew something like that would follow his nice gesture. She grabbed the shorts from her hand, setting them back on the ground to dry. She then turned away and squeezed the excess water out of her hair, tying it up into a bun on top of her head. “Either way they probably won’t dry. Now I have to wait here for who knows how long before I can go get something to eat. Thanks for that.” She said plopping herself on the ground and looking out over the water. Her anger had subsided somewhat, leaving her annoyed with the situation.

Yes, Dayone is the type to mind his own business in exchange for others to mind theirs, but something the girl had said caught his attention. Something she had said echoed in his head and he just couldn't seem to shake it off. It disturbed him so much he just couldn't move on from it. Here with someone like your boyfriend? Just that phrase seemed to disturb him so much and he didn't know why. He couldn't explain why. He'd been around a bunch of girls before and they've said similar phrases, but why did it disturb him so much when she said it? It wasn't like she was anything special. She was cute and smart, but that was about it. Why on earth had her mention of a boyfriend disturbed him so much? He then realized why he felt the way he was feeling and just couldn't admit it. He was experiencing jealousy for the first time. Well, this wasn't the first time he had felt jealous, but it was the first time for him to feel that way over a girl and someone who may be her boyfriend.
No, no, no. There is no way I could be jealous. Again, what in the world made this girl so special that her words made him feel so jealous? Not only that, but there went the stubbornness again. He wasn't willing to admit that he was jealous even when all the facts were there in front of him. He would come back and beat my ass? He felt like laughing at her and replying,"Alright. Well if you were with your boyfriend and he came back to beat my ass, I would let him. I'd give him a free shot before I'd start beating his ass." That's what he wanted to say, but he held himself back. Most of all, he wanted to ask her who the lucky guy was, but that would have revealed that he found her the tiniest bit attractive and it would look like he was trying to spy on her personal and private life. Luckily for him, she answered the question for him. So, you are single. That's a shame. Even as a bitch you're not that bad.
Being part blind has inhanced his other senses, in this case his hearing, so he had no problems hearing her when she mentioned that she was too much of a bitch to have a boyfriend. Honestly, even if she was a bitch, he would have took a shot at her if he wasn't who he was. Besides being blind, he believed his personality and her's were quite similar, and having two people with very strong personalities always equalled a big no-no. Sometimes it would work out, but he wasn't too positive they'd make a good couple. Maybe, but he wouldn't put much faith into it. He was too stubbornly to believe they'd work out and it was obvious she didn't like him. That's what he thought anyways. Dayone tried to make sense of what she said. Did she say it as a treat? That she didn't need a man because she could do just as fine without one or as an invitation? An invitation for him to ask her out. He shook his head at the second option.
He watched her ring her hair out and put it up into a bun. He couldn't help but mutter,"You look nicer with your hair out..." As he watched her plop back down onto the sand, he gave her a half-smile. "You're probably right, but at least you can enjoy the rest of this beautiful weather with me until they do dry." He walked back over to his things, picking them up; his towel, backpack, and shirt; then made it back to her side. He laid his towel down next to her and sat down on top of it. He found his eyes trained on her face. "you could wear my shirt till your shorts dry. Do you eat carrots and tomatoes?" Getting his things wet was never an issue of his, so he let the water from his hair and body wet his backpack as he opened it and pulled out two containers. He laid his shirt in between them and looked back up at her.

Arianna felt her cheeks heat up and looked to the side, pretending to watch the ocean. He had complimented her, well sort of, and it confused her. His personality had seemed to do a total one eighty and she didn’t know what to make of it. Sure he still seemed a little cocky and arrogant but now he also was exhibiting nicer traits. She wished he would just stick to one side; it was freaking the hell out of her. The thought of him trying to seduce her crossed her mind, and she realized she would have to keep her guard up. She didn’t want to be taken advantage of; she refused to be the dumb little girl that got hurt. Sure it had never happened to her in the past, but that was because she had never let anyone in close enough. She saw enough people get hurt because of dumb boys and she didn’t want to be just another number. Despite her frosty appearance she wanted someone that actually cared about her. That would put up with her and challenge her. The flings she had been involved with in the past had eventually bored her, or showed they couldn’t deal with her attitude. But she didn’t know how to not be a bitch and she was perfectly fine with that. It was easier. But she found herself removing the hair band from her hair and letting it down, running a hand through her hair. She hoped that he wouldn’t tease her for the action, but she couldn’t help it.
She only turned her head to watch him walk and grab her stuff, once again thoroughly perplexed. Here they were perfect strangers who had traded insults multiple times and he was offering to spend the day with her. Well not really offering more like demanding but it was all the same really. She didn’t know what to make of it, what to do really. She didn’t even know his name. He could be a serial killer for all she knew, though somehow she doubted he was. And now he was offering her his shirt? She looked at him for a second thinking he would pull some sort of joke but it never came. She picked his shirt up carefully looking at it like it might explode or something before she carefully slid it one over her head. She knew she was getting a little pink from being in the sun for so long, and she definitely did not want to deal with the peeling that came with being sunburnt. She then looked at his container and titled her head a little wondering why he had containers of tomatoes and carrots. That was an odd snack choice for a guy going to the beach but she wasn’t questioning it. Carrots where her favorite vegetable and she had skipped breakfast thinking she would just grab an early lunch at one of the local places. But that certainly wasn’t part of the equation anymore. “I like carrots.” She admitted quietly, her mind still turning.
She had so many questions whirling through her mind. Mostly centered around what the fuck happened in the last ten minutes to change his mood. She couldn’t stop herself from blurting out the few main ones. “What’s your name? Also while we are on that subject what the hell happened that I missed to make you actually be nice to me?” She asked unable to reign it in. “I mean it’s not that I’m not grateful. It’s just really random and really weird. I mean let’s be honest you don’t even know me. Why offer me snacks after I just ran straight into you and acted like a bitch?” Her eyes widened as she realized what she said. She hadn’t meant to include the part about it being her fault. “Damnit.” Her and her big mouth.

Dayone is as open as a book can get. Honestly, if anyone wants to know anything about him, he will tell you what you want to know then and there. The only time he won't give you an answer is if you have scratched a very touchy topic and it is just too personal and private to share. That rarely happens and so is being asked questions. Of all the assholes at the academy, he is one of the most hard to approach. He is too stubborn for his own good that he will confront anyone that comes up to him. Being hard to approach leads to not making any friends. No friends leads to no one taking time out of their lives to ask this wind elemental questions. Being that's said, no one really gets close to him long enough to know what the true Dayone is like. Everyone just sees a guy with some personal issues and a bad attitude. Nothing special there, right? In reality, he has a pet pig he loves and adores more then anything in the world and his own little garden that he grows all sorts of vegetables in.
This guy never was ashamed with what he had a dying passion for. Who should be? When you love doing something why be ashamed of it? Why not embrace it with dignity? Either way, Dayone never panicked at the thought that someone might catch him gardening. When he first started gardening that thought of being discovered frightened him, but he got over it real fast. Now he's proud to be a gardener. When the girl sitting beside him claimed she liked carrots he kept that adorable smile on his face. "You like carrots? That's cute... If I'd known you earlier on and I'd knew you'd come to the beach today, I would have gotten you a bag filled with carrots from my garden. Yeah, sounds odd doesn't it? I own my own little garden," he said while reaching for the container with the carrots inside. He quietly slide it her way. "You can take that and I'll eat the tomatoes."
As much as an asshole this wind elemental can be, he could be just as good as a gentlemen when he really wants to. For some odd reason, maybe it is just his attraction towards this girl, he feels a lot calmer and he doesn't exactly feel the need to be such an ass. Maybe it's the waves soothing him or the small breeze passing by, either way he feels at ease. For the moment. The sudden blurt of a question made brown eyebrows rise. My name? "My name is Dayone and yours?" he asked before pulling a tomato from the container and taking a big bite out of the juicy vegetable. Some call it a fruit, it could go either way. The sudden ask of his name didn't rise any questions within him, but when the girl went on to ask why he had a change of heart towards her the questions being to pop up. What? She prefers me to be mean than nice? Can't I be nice for once? I guess this is a crime...
If he hadn't been in a calm state he would have commented on her statement, but he decided not to. He just nodded his head and sighed before finishing his tomato and turning his full attention to her. Oh how badly he wanted to call her out for admitting it was her fault, though he choose a calmer way into this situation. "You know the phrase 'treat others the way you want to be treated,' right? Well, if I act nice I hope you'll act nice to me in return. It's fine if you don't want to... I do realize I seemed random and weird when I started acting nice and I apologize, but is it a crime to attempt to be the bitch's prince charming?" Dayone's eyes wondered out into the waves and he just sat there in silence. It took only thirty seconds before that cocky smile was back on his face and his mouth opened to let out laughter. "What the hell was that? I know I did not just say that! Ha! I'm going crazy! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but that was not me. Prince charming, do I look like someones prince charming? You know what's even funnier? I got you to admit you were the one to bump into me!"

He was charming. She’d give him that much. Usually she tended to avoid guys like him, the ones that exuded arrogance. She knew people that had been burned and she never wanted anything like that to happen to her. She didn’t like to be vulnerable and love and relationships made people vulnerable. It was why she put off such a cold exterior. Somewhere deep down she had feelings but no one ever really stayed long enough to tap into them. But this one, this guy was obviously different. He liked gardening. “I didn’t know males under the age of forty liked gardening.” Arianna commented grabbing the container with the carrots and taking a few. “That’s kind of cool though I guess. I’m not very good with plants. I tend to kill them on accident.” She still couldn’t believe someone like him gardened though. He seemed like the type of guy to be too busy hooking up with girls to do something so time consuming.
She let her eyes flicker over to him to watch his movements. Arianna had always enjoyed people watching, believing it was the best way to see what a person was really like. But he just had her feeling more and more confused. She looked away again once he told her his name and instead let her eyes look out over the water. Dayone was a nice name, it was unique and a lot like him actually. “My name’s Arianna.” She said simply after a few moments. She still had hundreds of questions, but wasn’t one to actually voice her thoughts unless she had too. She briefly wondered what kind of element he had, but he seemed to abrasive to be on the other side of the alliance. He was a mystery, this one, and it bothered her because she didn’t like not knowing things.
His sudden shift to caring still threw her for a loop. He was actually being kind, and she could feel a little bit of her cold front melt away a little. She certainly hadn’t expected those words to ever come out of his mouth. He wants me to be nice too? Prince Charming? Is this actually happening right now? Right as she was about to apologize, something that never ever happened, he had to ruin it. She felt herself getting more and more embarrassed as he spoke and her cheeks burned bright red. How dare he! He was just messing with her feelings like they were nothing. She glared at him fiercely, unable to form any coherent words for the moment. She really should have seen something like this coming, and internally she chastised herself for letting him get to her.
After a few tense seconds on her part she grabbed a handful of carrots and then threw the empty container at his head. She stood up quickly and grabbed her bag off the sand and then looked back at her current flow of hatred. “You are an asshole. And I hope you learn how to treat people better. And if I actually could I would so punch you right now” She muttered bitterly, wanting nothing more than to crawl up and hide. Damn kid. She turned on her heel and began to walk away, but didn’t get more than a few feet before realizing she had forgotten her shorts and shoes. At this point she didn’t even want to turn around to face him knowing she probably looked like an idiot and she would rather walk back to the academy barefoot than talk to him again.
