Alina was bored. She had been going to this school and had only been there for a few months of her Senior year, and already she was getting cabin fever. The students werenât really allowed to leave the school unless they were going to go and visit family in Willowdale. Alina had no family in Willowdale, her Nana lived farther away. She didnât really have any need to go into town â sheâd honestly already done that. The school was big, there were a lot of places to go. But Alina wasnât in the mood to explore. No, she was just in the mood to be sociable. TALK TO SOMEONE. She had been sitting alone in her room trying to do math and the numbers had been jumping all around the page, driving her nuts! Her head had started hurting her and all of her numbers had just turned into little doodles. She honestly didnât know how these teachers expected her to pass their classes if they didnât realize that Alina had no idea what to do. Or how to focus. Even in their class, she would daydream more often than not. She tried to listen to what they were teaching, but it was like a foreign language to her. It was time for an outlet. Alina could not sit here and look at this homework anymore. Time to do something else.
Walking out of the Windâs Dormitory, Alina took in the day. It was bright, and starting to really warm up. The sun was lovely upon her skin, and she took in the breeze, smiling a bit to herself. She moved her fingers up slowly, playing with the wind, using her power to weave the breeze through her fingers like it was dancing. She wasnât the most powerful wind in the twelfth grade, but she was learning. She caught on how to do that a lot faster than she caught on how to do algebra and physics and chemistry. Oh, definitely chemistry. That had been the death of her. She swore mother nature had revived her on exam day and she had still BARELY passed that one. It was hard. Her teacher understood. She was sure the teachers here cared more about their abilities anyway. Walking around, Alina found herself in the courtyard. Fitting really. She didnât want to be cooped up indoors so sheâd stay outside. She just hoped sheâd find someoneâŚoh! Right at that moment, a familiar head of blonde hair went by. Alinaâs eyes widened, running after her friend. âCarrie! CARSON!â She had met Carson during her Freshman year, and the two had hit it off right away. She was Alinaâs closest friend, and Alina knew she would be absolutely lost without the girl.
Finally catching up to her, Alina caught her breath. âHiâŚâ She hugged her, leaning against her a bit, her head resting to Carsonâs shoulder. âWhere were you going? Can I come? You wonât leave me behind, will you? I was bored, I couldnât really grasp the math homework very well. Mayhaps you could help me. When and if you have time and want to, of course.â She looked up at the girl. âI havenât seen you very much this week, whatâs new with you?â Alina smiled brightly at her. She loved this girl. She was just glad her day was turning up, now that she had the possibility of hanging out with Carson.[/blockquote]

OUTFIT.
The afternoon turned out to be so glorious! The first portion of the day had been spent sitting in class, her gaze drifting in and out of focus as the teacher talked on and on about the subject at hand. Some of them were okay--Carson was good at math and because of that her focus tended to be a bit higher--but overall she spent time doodling in her notebook and staring out the nearest window. The grounds looked so enticing; maybe a good game of hacky sack could be in the near future! That excited her and, with something to look forward to, her eyes shifted back towards the teacher and tried to listen as best she could.
When freedom was finally exacted upon her and the rest of the students, Carson slowly gathered up her things made way for the front doors of the Academy. As eager as she was there was no need to rush; the rest of the afternoon was still open and available for fun. It wasn't like she was going to be late or something. Not that that ever really stopped her from managing time without a watch. The satchel on her shoulder bumped and made a few jingly noises as she walked, pushing the front doors open and taking in the day. She could smell rain, but it wouldn't be around for a while yet. She still looked forward to it.
As she happily passed through the courtyard, her name reached her ears and the smile on her face grew brighter. There was no mistaking who it was. Carson turned around to see her close friend Alina, who seemed to be catching her breath from a run. "Ali!" She replied cheerfully, returning the hug. It was nice to have someone who was equally affectionate and clingy. The question 'Hey, how are you?' almost passed her lips before Alina began talking, asking a bunch of questions and rambling all at once. She chuckled, amused. "I was just taking a walk. I was going to go and play a game or something if anyone was interested, but we can do something together if you want!" This was one of her closest friends and she would stop whatever she was doing to spend time. "And of course, I'd be glad to help you. Maybe later this week we can set up a time to get together? My house, maybe." There would be plenty of space and they could hide away in Carson's room to escape her siblings for a while.
"Not much! Just homework and leadership duties and family stuff, the usual." Nothing new ever really happened, but that was okay. Life was good and that was all that mattered. "What about you? Anything new?" They talked quite a bit but there were times when things distracted and got in the way. She was glad that Alina always made efforts to be around, though.

Alina was one of those people who would completely live outdoors if she could. Of course, she loved the indoors and all the comforts it had to offer, but there was just something about the outdoors. The over abundance of fresh air, the beautiful scenery, the wild life. And that could be said for the people who walked around too. They shouldâve been considered wild life. But still. That, and outside you didnât need a TV. The sky was constantly changing, and Alina wouldâve much rather looked up at the night sky to find constellations and shooting stars then to watch some program. The things on TV nowadays were loads of trash. Alina either got lost very easily or just turned them off. She didnât want to see killing or a bunch of sex and swearing. How was that entertaining? And you didnât need a radio â you could listen to the birds and the crickets and just oooh, Alina really liked being outside. If she hadnât been a wind, she probably wouldâve been an earth. She just had more earth tendencies. Of course, Earth elements were some of the nicest people you could meet. Alina had her moments. She was reallyâŚdifferent from all the other people she had met here at this school. She was a wind and that meant she was all her own. And one day, sheâd be able to prove herself. She just had to get through the difficulties of studying and schooling first. Same classes â different experiences.
She had never really wondered what it would be like to be a ânormalâ human. She didnât know if elementals were considered human or not; they resembled them, anyway. But she had always been different, and solitary, even if she would FIGHT any social awkwardness to try and make friends. She had been used to being looked over and passed on to the next person. Finding out she was an elemental the summer before her freshman year had changed her life, really. It made her feel like she had a new sense of purpose. It made her feel more important. And coming to this school to find out about her calling and how to use it had been so helpful. And making friends â wonderful friends! Friends like Carson who accepted her for how she was and who she was and wouldnât take it any other way. That was amazing. Alina couldnât really think of her life without Carson. It would be lonelier, that was for sure. So seeing her friend today was just the cherry on top of the sundae. It was just nice to see someone who was actually happy to see you for a change instead of just someone who was putting up with you or using you for something. Thatâs why she missed Nana so much. Carson helped with the homesickness. And the loneliness. And everything. She was the bomb. Only not reallyâŚbecause Alina would never want Carson to blow up.
Alina took a breath as Carson laughed. She had the tendency to get excited quickly. She smiled a bit, âI was taking a walk too! What game were you thinking of playing? If you wanted to play a game, we could play a game together. Even if I donât know how to play, I could always learn.â Even if learning didnât come easy â games were fun, not so hard. Unless it was a card game â some of those had funny rules and it just made no sense to Alina to complicate things more than need be. Alina rested her head to Carsonâs shoulder, thanking her with a half hug. âThank you. I donât know how I keep magically passing these classes. They just keep getting harder.â She pouted, sighing a bit and moving a strand of presently blonde hair out of her face. It was her default color â her natural color. Though she was sure sheâd be going back to pink soon enough. Or maybe lilac. She wasnât sure yet. âYour house sounds fine. As long as Lucas lets us get anything done.â Alina was an only child and lived in the dorms, she wasnât used to having siblings who came in to annoy you for fun. Going over to Carsonâs was always interesting. Alina nodded, âThatâs good, so not much change.â Alina wasnât fond of change. At all. She thought a bit, âUhmâŚnope. Not really. Just staying here at the school. Thinking of seeing my Nana soon, whenever I get a chance.â She looked to her friend. âWhatâs sounds good to you? We have the rest of the afternoon, letâs make something of it!â She linked her arm with Carsonâs.[/blockquote]

OUTFIT.
Carson was a chatty, over eager, easily excitable person and had the capability to talk someone's ear off, but even she felt quiet compared to Alina. That wasn't a bad thing though! She liked people who were peppy and upbeat, because they gave off a cheerful aura. The world was full of negativity and negative people so she found happiness where she could and embraced it. "Taking walks are good!" The girl chirped in response, smiling. It was good exercise if nothing else. "I'm not quite sure what game I was going to play...I guess it all depended on who wanted to join me in doing something. Volleyball could be fun, or maybe find a way to play dodgeball. Or hide and seek. Oh oh! Or tennis!" There were so many options and Carson wasn't quite sure which one would be the best one; she figured it would be based on the number of people and what they voted for. All of it could be good fun. Some options required fewer people though, like tennis.
"You're welcome! And they do keep getting worse, don't they?" Being one to naturally do things for herself first, it was a testament to her closeness with certain people when she chose to offer up her time and resources to help with school. It was not something she focused on--her focus wasn't really that great anyway--so stopping to aid a friend with something educational was a much bigger deal than, say, offering up fashion advice or something silly. At least she liked math; if it were history Alina would be out of luck. A brief sigh passed her lips as she shook her head and chuckled. "He should be fine," Carson reassured her friend before stopping to think. "I hope. I never know with him or Seth. Or Janessa." Her siblings were unpredictable. Her sister was fairly decent with personal space unless they were already fighting, in which case she might have to deal with a grumpy Thunder student.
She shrugged and shook her head, smiling. Change never really bothered the Water; she had been uprooted from Saskatchewan, her parents divorced, her mother was with another woman, her father remarried and had two more children to add to the Garroway brood, and who knew what lay in store for the future. Things were unpredictable. "Well that's good I suppose," She replied with a nod, then smiled wider at the mention of Alina's Nana. "Awww, hopefully you can see her soon! And when you go you should tell her I said hi. I hope she's doing okay." Her grandparents were back in Saskatchewan and briefly wondered how they were doing before being distracted by her friend's tugging at the arm. There was a small giggle. "Okay! Well, we could go shopping or just walk around the grounds and talk, or go to the mess hall to eat, or whatever!" The world was their playground today and anything was possible.

Alina wasnât always chatty, but honestly, lately she had been having enough quiet to never want to hear it again. Well , okay, that was over exaggerating, but really â Alina had to much energy pent up right now to be quiet. So she could potentially talk someoneâs ear off. In reality, she would probably start to cry if that happened because she never wanted to hurt someone on purpose, but that saying wasnât realistic, it was just a saying. Thank goodness. Besides, the world already had enough people hurting each other â it didnât need to add HER into the mix. Alina grinned, nodding enthusiastically to agree with Miss Carson. âThey are! They kind of clear the head a bit, and let you get a good breath of fresh air. If theyâre outside walks of course â walks can be anywhere, I guess, right? Outside walks are best though, I think.â She nodded to herself. It seemed like all in all, she was just confusing herself today. Maybe she needed to have some quiet time. Possibly later this week, because she was MUCH too hyper right now. She laughed a bit, âSo if I was joining, what would the game be? Who were you planning on running into before?â There had to be someone. And of course, Carson had to have some GENERAL idea of what she wanted to get out of her day. And that wasnât a selfish way to think â didnât everyone kind of outline their day a little bit? Alina sure did. She thought a bit, âDonât all those things include more than two people?â Alas, the life of high schoolers whose school were broken up into cliques. âHide and seek is fun! Or tennis. I donât think Iâve ever actually played âfollowing the rules by the bookâ tennis. I just like to hit the ball back anâ forth like itâs ping pong. OH! We could play that too.â She giggled lightly. Her eyes widened, âThey do! How do these teachers expect me to pass and move on to college! The only reason Iâd go to college is to learn more about my elementâŚand all of this includes more homework and things of the like.â She slumped against her friend exasperatedly. âIâd appreciate all the help I can get.â Because sheâd need it, for sure. Though a smile appeared back on Alinaâs lips as Carson actually had to stop and think about how her siblings would behave. âYou have so many siblings, I donât know HOW you grew up with so many people. It sounds like a lot of fun.â She giggled slowly, reaching up and playing at the ends of her friendâs hair. âYour hair looks nice today.â Thatâs what friends were for. Compliments out of the blue. Why not. As a wind and a water, the two girls were bound to take changes in life easily. The breeze never blew the same way, the ripples on the waterâs surface were always changing, it was just in their nature. But still, Alina wasnât fond of it. There were a few things that Alina would beg to keep the way they always were. Of course, she didnât have a genie and a magic lamp. If she did, she would never have to do math again. She nodded, âIt is.â She smiled a bit, âShe called the other day. Told me she missed me, asked how you were. Next time I see her, I will give her a personal hello from you. She says sheâs doing fine, sheâs just lonely is all.â Which was sad, but Alina would be able to fix that when she saw her. Thinking a bit as Carson named off the options, Alinaâs brows raised. âWe could go shopping! And grab a bite to eat while outâŚdid you want to do that? I think we both need to get off campus for a whileâŚdo something not on schedule.â Not that schedules were bad, but Alina didnât like the thought of being regulated â it kind of caged the imaginationâŚthe free will. Alina could never be a pet bird, in that sense. She looked to her friend to see what she thought. Sheâd let her lead the way.[/blockquote]

OUTFIT.
She giggled at Alina's bubbly personality, thoroughly enjoying it. It was so nice to have a friend like her! "Well, walks can be anywhere, but they aren't nearly as nice if you aren't outside. I think those are the best walks." She had a little bounce to her as she stood there, rocking back and forth on her heels. Boundless energy. "I mean, we're stuck inside all the time anyway. School is like jail sometimes! So you gotta go outside and love the fresh air when you can." Her hand moved through the air as though creating a little air for herself before smiling brightly. The weather was so invigorating and good for everyone's health and gave her an all over happy feeling. Probably one reason she felt distracted when inside the classroom, staring out the window and wishing they could hold their classes outside on nice days. Carson shrugged. "I honestly don't know. We could always do something just the two of us so...some of those would be harder to play, but we could manage!" Ever the one to try and find a silver lining in most situations, at least if it could call for one. "Oh, I dunno! I was just hoping that someone familiar would be around and we could set something up." She never did pre-plan these things, really. Spontaneity was something she really enjoyed.
"Some of them do, but like I said we can manage! We can make up something if we wanted to." There was nothing set in stone, they could do what they wanted and it wouldn't be a big deal. It was more depending on what they were in the mood for. She could even try playing cards if Alina felt so inclined. Carson simply wanted to hang out with friends and pass the time with fun. "We could play 'no rules' tennis if you want," She offered up with a bright smile. "We'll just play ping pong, only with tennis rackets! Though we'll need to go to the rec center or something like that in order to play..." That would require leaving campus and without a car that would be difficult. Unless Alina came prepared with a vehicle? Then they would be set! "Yeah, school can be so ridiculous sometimes! But some people like it, so I guess it won't change any time soon. At least you can still work with your element, homework aside." Even if homework was yucky. She patted her friend on the arm and gave her a tight side hug. "I don't know how I did either," Carson admitted with a giggle. "They're all so crazy, but fun sometimes. It depends." It depended on who wanted what and when and where. Arguments could happen at any time. She giggled again when Alina played with her hair. "Thank you! Yours looks nice too."
She liked to take things in stride and let things happen as they happened, though sometimes there were things she didn't want. There were very few people in this world that could be perfectly content with every twist and turn. Water was definitely a suitable element for Carson, though Alina didn't seem as eager for the changes life offered. "Aww well that's sweet of her! I'm glad she's doing okay, and thanks for sending the hello. Maybe I can go with you to visit sometime." The woman was nice and she didn't like that she felt lonely. No one should feel that way. It wasn't very happy. Then again, not everyone felt lonely when they were alone. Everyone was different. "Shopping and eating sounds amazing! We can always play a game later." She exclaimed with happiness, forgetting then remembering that she still had no transportation. "Are you able to drive us? Or should we walk or...maybe the bus?" There were other options. It did suck to be without a vehicle.

Alina nodded to agree with her friend. âExactly.â She loved how she and Carson were on the same pageâŚmost of the time. Not all the time, because not everyone could be thinking the same thing at the exact same moment, but other than that, they were golden. Alina smiled at the girl. She liked how they were kind of like the fizz in a soda pop bottle when they were together. So much energy it sometimes exploded. âI think we both got in an outdoor walk for todayâŚâ She nodded quickly to agree, âNo one should be stuck inside all the time! Itâs unhealthy. And youâd think withâŚhow we areâŚyouâd want to be outside more often.â She thought a bit, playing at her friendâs sleeve just a bit before asking lightly, âDo you ever find yourself just studying your element? Closing your eyes and kind of picturing how it moves and thinking about all the wonderful things you could do with it? Iâm excited.â She found herself wanting to ask about how Carson came to be an elemental, but maybe the girl didnât even really know. Alina had no idea, but of course, she didnât really know much about her family, now did she. She grinned, âWell if you ever need a little more air, just let me know.â She giggled. Someday sheâd be able to do just that. Thinking a bit, Alina nodded. âWe could put them on the âcome back toâ list, think about them a bit and THEN make a decision.â She smiled, holding her hands up, âIâm familiar!â She was in a goofy mood. She thought a bit, looking back to Carson, âMaking up something would take more time, and weâd have to set up rules. Rules arenât any fun if you write them.â She followed rules, but she didnât like to make them, it just made her feel bossy. She giggled, âNo rules tennis, I like it. Tennis ping pong. OrâŚoversized ping pong.â Though as Carson mentioned the rec center, Alina frowned a bit, âAwâŚyeah. Hm.â She didnât have a car. She didnât really drive â walking was her main form of transportation. Or biking. It was a nice day, maybe the two could find some bikes orâŚtake a bus or something. Alina twirled a strand of hair around her finger, looking up at Carson. âYeaâŚI donât know why the people who donât like it HAVE to go. Well, no, I mean, I know whyâŚbut itâs still not fair.â She had to admit she was glad that she understood her element homework. Otherwise, sheâd just be a lost cause all together. She took the hug her friend gave gratefully. It seemed there was a shortage of those EVERYWHERE lately. Alina smiled a bit, âWellâŚyouâve lived through it, at least. Iâm hoping theyâre more fun than crazy. For your sake.â She grinned, hugging the girl and continuing to walk any old way with her. She shook her head, âIâm thinking of dying it again soon, what color should I do next?â She valued Carrieâs opinion, so naturally sheâd ask her. Alina would always trust in Carsonâs council. It was just something she knew would help her. She brightened, her eyes widening, âYou should. Iâll have to see when we have some kind of a break or a weekend thatâs not so busy, and you can come with me to visit her. Sheâd love seeing you again.â Nana had met Carson on one of their get togethers when Alina had been picked up from Carsonâs house. Nana was just happy Alina had a friend. She smiled, âYes! And it will be a fun game. But for now, we need to hang out and shop first!â Alina needed some new little knickknacks to sew onto her clothes. âIt depends where you want to go. I can drive but I have no car here right now. We can take the bus, or walk if itâs not TOO far, since it IS nice out. I have a bus card soâŚâ She thought a bit. âMaybe I could get a bag together so that later I could just spend the night at your house and that would save us a long trip backâŚâ[/blockquote]

OUTFIT.
She nodded a little bit, smiling brightly. They walked to and from class and around the campus, so she supposed that they both got their indoor and outdoor walking in for the day. It was still such a nice day out and she could certainly go for more wandering around! "Pffft, no way! I wanna be outside more. If I could be outside all the time, I probably would be. Unless there's a really bad thunderstorm or something, then I'll be inside." She didn't have an innate fear of lightning but it was dangerous and she wasn't stupid enough to stand in the middle of something like that. Well, maybe for a dare, but it wouldn't be for very long. The smile was still there even as Alina played with her shirt sleeve, tilting her head at the question. "...hmm..." That was a good question, actually. Carson never took a lot of time to truly sit down and focus on the water droplets after a rain, or the ripples in the lake, or the tide at the beach. She was good with managing her element but her focus was so scattered sometimes it was hard to direct it all on one particular thing. "I don't think so, though I think I should! Maybe go sit by the lake one day and just...watch the water for a while." That might make her sleepy, but oh well. "Or maybe go on a hike and sit next to the river! You could always join me if you wanted." The light breeze that came from the cool mountain streams could be something, right?
"That sounds like a plan!" She replied, pointing a finger at her friend for emphasis. She giggled when Alina said she was familiar; she definitely was, and was glad that she had a chance to see her today. "Well no...that sounds boring. And I'd much rather spend my time actually playing a game than making up rules." That would take up far too much time and seemed boring. There were plenty of games that already had rules that they could play. "Over-sized tennis ping pong!" The girl concluded with a laugh, amused that they were trying to create a name for something that already existed. She frowned when Alina frowned; they could easily take the bus but just for the rec center? What if no one else wanted to join? One on one could be fun she supposed but the more the merrier. "No, it's not fair, I agree. But oh well! Nothing we can really do about it. One day we'll be free from school and we can do whatever we want." Which could be right after high school if they wanted, though Carson wanted to go to college for fashion design if possible.
There was a little shrug to her shoulders, clearly not bothered by her family life. They weren't perfect but at least things were happy overall. "Sometimes it's good crazy too, but yeah mostly it's fun I guess," She replied. She and Janessa were the most different but they managed well enough. "My brothers are easier to get along with I think. Speaking of which I should call Wesley soon." He wasn't around much anymore because of college and life. Carson missed him. "Hmm. Maybe blue? Oh oh! Or you could do a few different colors. Like blue and orange. Or pink and purple." There were many times Carson was tempted to color her hair but held back. She was far too jumpy in her decision making to feel comfortable switching from color to color. "Okay! That'll be fun. I'd love to see her, too." It was neat to be able to spend time with the family of your friends. To her, it meant that you were close. She liked that there were a few people at the school she considered that close. "Well, it's too far to walk, I think," She thought, knowing it was quite the trek on foot. "But we could take the bus, sure! I have my card too and we can just stop in the middle of the city and go from there." There were a lot of options they could have that way, and they could be more spontaneous. At the suggestion of spending the night, she clapped her hands and nodded eagerly. "Yeah! Yeah! We can do that, and we'll have a slumber party tonight after our shopping spree. Though if you want, you can just borrow stuff to sleep in so you don't have to run back to the dorms." She was just excited and eager to go and hang out.

Alina giggled, âThatâs just what I was thinking!â She thought a bit, looking to Carson, âIs it bad though that Iâd still want to be outside when itâs storming? I know it sounds scary, but I think it would be kind of cool to watch and feel.â She was just wondering really â she didnât really have a lust for things dangerous or untouchable. If she did, sheâd probably spend a lot more time with fires, and that was NOT something she wanted to do. Not after the run in with the fire elemental sheâd met the other day. Alina waited patiently for Carsonâs answer. Maybe the fact that her element made her special made it that much easier to learn it and study it more than any other class she had to take. She actually cared about knowing about her element. She didnât really care one way or another if she couldnât find âxâ. She nodded slowly, âThereâs no one saying you have to, I just wondered if I was the only one who did.â She thought, looking to Carson, âWhen did you find out about being an elemental? How did it happen?â Though Alina was sure she knew most everything about Carson, she knew she could still learn new things every day about the girl. People were complex that way. She grinned, âI would join you. We could keep each other accountable.â That orâŚget completely distracted together and have fun some other way. Either one worked. Grinning slowly, Alina nodded. âAt some point we should write them down so we donât forget.â Because that happened. Alinaâs mind filled with different things every passing second â remembering things was hard for her sometimes. Though Carson was smart as a whip â sheâd probably never forget. Nodding matter-of-factly, Alina agreed. âMe too.â Rules were limiting. Why did some things need them in the first place? âYes! All together! WellâŚhm. Thatâs a little long. Over sized Ping Pong? Because isnât Ping Pong and Tennis almost the exact same thing? Maybe? OhâŚI donât know.â She gave up. Sheâd only played tennis maybe twice in her life, and she always tended to just count how many bounces to a paddle she could get with her ping pong ball than actually playing against someone. She wasnât the biggest competitor. In fact, sometimes she even cheered on the winner if they were against her. Encouragement for everyone was nice. âYeaâŚâ Alinaâs mind wandered a bit, looking back to Carrie, âI think I might go to college. I mean, I know weâre kind of expected to, but I need a little time to see what I want to major in besides my element. Something that comes naturallyâŚeasily. Something like making clothes orâŚdying hair.â Alina laughed a bit, just joking. But it was something to think about, anyway. âThatâs good.â Alina actually had a question for Carson, but sheâd ask it in a minute. She nodded a bit, âTheyâre twins right? If I remember? They look so much alike, they have to be.â She pointed to Carson like she was going to help remind her, âCall Wesley!â She laughed lightly. Alina twirled her hair around her fingers a bit, looking down at it to consider the choices Carrie was giving her. âIâve done Blue before, I thinkâŚOH! What about likeâŚa little bit of everything in pastel colors?â That way it would go with everything and still stand out. Alina was never begging for attention, she just liked to change things up that didnât affect her life too much. âActually, I was thinking. I know we have Summer break coming upâŚwhat if I stayed with you for the first week at your house and then you came to see Nana with me for the second?â Just because Alina needed a place to stay for the first week anyway. Listening to Carson, Alina nodded, reaching the school with her, âThatâs our plan. We have one now.â She smiled, thinking, before her face brightened even more, âThatâs perfect! Then I wonât have to carry things around either. Oh, Iâm excited, letâs go!â[/blockquote]

OUTFIT.
Not being one to turn down a dare, or avoid trying something new, Carson didn't think that Alina's desire to go stand out in a thunderstorm to be particularly bad. Dangerous, maybe, but that didn't mean everyone fell victim to lightning strikes. She shrugged. "I think it would be neat to watch the lightning," She said, a wistful expression on her face. Her element was weak against it but that didn't mean that natural phenomena weren't cool. "Just don't stand out in the middle of the field! You don't want to be the tallest thing around." If there was one thing she learned about storms, it was just that. How scary would it be to be electrocuted? She didn't even want to think about it. "I guess between us, you were the only one. But I'm thinking about it now!" She chuckled, now reminding herself to go and enjoy the lake for a while. To feel her element in its natural state. Her train of thought was completely derailed at the mention of her powers, the moment in which she realized she was no ordinary human being. With a smile, she said, "Well, I was at the beach with my family several years back when it happened...Wesley tried to tug me under the water, and when he did I freaked out and started throwing my arms around, and I actually managed to use the current to pick him up out of the water." Her hands were up in the air as she spoke, emphasizing her story. It was the last time she had done something so powerful but it was merely an outburst that happened through fear. Maybe one day she could do it again. Carson smiled and nodded. "Sounds good!" It was fun to hang out with Alina so she looked forward to hanging out later. Not that they weren't hanging out today, but whatever. She just liked being with people.
"We probably should, yeah! Though I can't really remember most of the ones we talked about..." She wasn't stupid, but her memory was not up to par with most. Her focus truly did need more focus. She simply tended to drift from one thing to the next, sometimes quick enough for her mind to practically delete what was there moments before. She thought on the whole ping pong versus tennis thing until her friend was done speaking before jumping in. "I...think they're the same thing? I don't know. The rules are probably different. I mean, one is on a table and the other is on a tennis court. Then again that doesn't change much." So much thinking and the rules and ugh it made her head hurt. She loved tennis but never really experienced ping pong so she could not really make much of a comparison. Carson gave her friend an encouraging but gentle pat on the shoulder. "You could go into beauty school! Or something like that. You're good at hair and you like fashion stuff, so I think you'd do great." It was always good to find strong points and work with them, because usually happiness was much easier to find. At least, she thought so. She liked doing things that made her happy above most else.
She gave a small nod. "Yep, twins. Double the trouble!" She held up two fingers and laughed. "Oh, thanks for reminding me," Carson joked with a giggle. She would certainly call her older brother very soon, though maybe not today. Hanging out with Ali was important, too! That was priority number one for the afternoon. She clasped her hands together in approval and smiled. "That sounds like a fantastic idea! That'll be pretty and very spring-like. Can I go with you when you get it done?" She asked sweetly, batting her eyelashes. It would be fun to watch them turn her hair into a pastel rainbow. The smile broadened considerably, eyes glowing with excitement at the thought of traveling with her friend and having her stay the night for a week. "I'll need to ask my mom, but she probably won't mind for either of those." Achelle was an easy going woman, never paid much mind to the friends Carson brought in and out of the house nor the trips she took with them. So long as they were safe, that was all that mattered. "Yeah! Going to shop~ Going to shop~" Growing more excited about the day's activities, the Water eagerly shuffled towards the bus. When they arrived in the city, she stepped off of the bus and stretched her arms. "Where should we go first?"

Alinaâs eyes widened, looking at her friend. âRight? I think it would be pretty. Thunder elementals have all the luck, they probably get to see lightning all the time.â Alina knew that being a wind just meant that she was kind of the leftover element, and didnât fit into any set category. The element who wasnât as important as the main four. But she knew, without the wind, a lot of things would cease to exist. SoâŚshe reminded herself that she was special in that way. She thought a bit, and she came to a conclusion. She stomped her foot with determination, looking to her friend. âYou know what I think?â She leaned in closer so it would be more like a secret. She wouldnât want to get in trouble since she was sharing this new blasphemous idea ON campus. âI think the elements fighting against each other is pityâŚand stupid. We should think about how we can help each other out, instead of scorning the elements opposite of ourselvesâŚâ Maybe she was allowed to think about that, since she was a Wind, and Winds were neutral. But then againâŚit would be a better world if all the elements went along with each other, wouldnât it? She liked to think so. She laughed a bit, âWell of courseâŚIâll stand where there are trees. Iâll be safe, donât worry.â She wasnât one to deliberately go out and SEEK danger. NoâŚshe rather shied from it. âWell, good then, now weâre on the same page.â Alina listened closely and attentively to everything Carrie had to say. She was good at that, as long as the conversation wasnât going on for TOO long about the same thing. She blinked a bit, looking at Carson in surprise, âHow did you feel when you did that? Did other people in your family see? Your wholeâŚfamily is elemental, am I right?â As much as she knew about Carson, there was never a time where she felt she stopped learning something new about the girl. She led out her pinky for a promise, before smiling at the girl. She nodded slowly, âWellâŚâ She dug around in her bag for a pen, pulling out a lavender sparkly gel one. âIâll write down what we can remember now. And when we think about them again later, weâll add onto the list.â She moved her fingerless lace gloves aside, writing down ping pong, tennis, hide and seek, all the things she could remember, before showing Carson. âThere. Iâll just have to transfer them onto paper before they wash off.â Alina giggled. Gel pen didnât stay on the longest, but Alina and Carson were bound to find paper before all the ink wore off Alinaâs skin. She waved her hand lightly, âWe should just call them the same thing and call it good.â As Carson built Alina up like a good friend should, Alina beamed almost as bright as her hair after a moment. She nodded, âIâll look into it! Something creative over somethingâŚeducational.â She laughed. If she could just get away from letters and numbers, sheâd be fine! Especially reading. Though it was unfortunate, it was the hardest thing for Alina to do. âAwâŚthank you.â Alina hugged Carson. The girl just made Alina feel so much better about a lot of things. Thatâs what best friends were for. âAre they very hard to tell apart? I would imagine so. I donât think Iâd be able to keep them straight in my mind at all!â Alina had only met the twins separately, and each time, she mixed them up. Even in pictures. She figured sheâd just have to study the photos beforehand and pick out as many differences as she could find â besides shirt colors, obviously, because clothing changed. She smiled, âYouâre very welcome.â She curtsied to her friend, grinning up at her. Alina was only 5â1â, so Carson was probably just a bit taller than her. She spun a bit in her excitement! âYes! Yes, you can come with! You can make sure they do it amazingly!â She laughed, taking her friendâs hand and walking with her, bouncing as she walked, âToday has made me so incredibly excited, you have NO idea!â She laughed. She was looking forward to spending more time with Carson, spending a week with her and her family before seeing Carson meet up with Alinaâs Nana again. It would be a good time! After the walk and getting on the bus, the ride went by so fast as the girls talked over plans and the like, and Alina stepped off with her friend, thinking a bit, âAre you hungry? Do you want to eat first or shall we eat and relax AFTER shopping?â She linked her arm with her friendâs, letting her agree or disagree.[/blockquote]
