CLOTHING STYLE Ivy has a somewhat varied style, but strays from "girly" things - you won't ever find her in a dress and heels. Her favorite and most common outfit consists of combat boots, skinny jeans or leggings, old (or "vintage") band tees, and a cardigan. During the warmer months, she trades her jeans for fishnet stockings and shorts, but the band tees stay.

WORST MEMORY The worst memory Ivy has is of the day her parents - after much screaming and yelling and throwing of things - finally admitted to one another that they did not love each other and had not for a long while. Their divorce was imminent.
LONG-TERM GOAL Make a positive impact on the world. Exactly how, she does not know.

HISTORY Ivanna grew up in a financially challenged family, and often had to go without new clothes for the school year and things to play with so that her family could keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. Ivanna's home life throughout her early childhood years up was something of a verbal war zone - hardly a day could pass without her parents finding something new to fight about. Because of this, Ivanna spent as little time at home as possible, choosing instead to spend her free time at the library or in the park by herself where things were quiet.
One cool spring day after a blowout fight with her mother over her suffering grades, Ivy escaped to a pond near her father's house (as she had begun to do when she was feeling particularly emotional) and noticed that as her anger dissipated, the still-blooming wildflowers began to flourish right before her very eyes. Erick found her not long after, and Ivanna nervously explained what she thought she'd just made happen.
Only a few days had passed since the strange incident when the scouts came knocking on their front door. At first, they wanted to speak privately with Ivanna's father. Erick and the two scouts disappeared into the den, closed the door and talked in hushed voices for at least an hour. Even with her ear pressed firmly against the cool wood, she couldn't pick up much - a few words reached her here and there, and by the end all she had pieced together was something about Earth, and an Academy up in British Columbia. She worried she was in trouble, and went to wait in the living room for these strange people to come and talk to her. Eventually the scouts appeared from her father's den, and sat her down to introduce themselves and explain what was going on. By the end of the conversation, Ivanna learned she was what the scouts referred to as an Earth element and was being asked to move to an Academy where she could develop her talents further. Grateful for a chance to escape her less-than-pleasing home life, she accepted and within a few hours had said her goodbyes, packed and was ready to go.
Her first year at the Academy went by too quickly for her liking, as she had come to love her teachers and the things they taught her. She picked up on the lessons quite quickly, discovering that she did far better in school here than she had back home. She did not acquire many friends during the school year as she was too intently focused on her studies - she hopes that this year, that will change. Things have been far too lonely for her liking.

RP SAMPLEWith angry tears streaming down her face, Ivanna flees from the dining area where her mother sits fuming over yet another disappointing report card and runs out the back door, taking the three steps in one giant leap. Her combat boots slap hard against the cement sidewalk as she runs, heading towards the pond behind her father's house. Stupid child, can't do anything right. Her mother's harsh words repeat over and over again in her mind, fueling the stream of tears continually cascading down her pale face. Finally, Ivy's feet hit grass and the loud slapping of her boots becomes a muffled rustle in the tall greenery. She skids to a halt at the edge of the mirror-like pond, sinks to her knees and puts her face in her hands, her breathing labored. She takes a few deep breaths as the tears begin to cease and her anger dissipates; wiping the wetness from her cheeks, she raises her face to the warm sun and lets it's warmth wash over her, relaxing her.
A soft rustling sound makes Ivy open her eyes and watch in amazement as the flower that, just moments before had been curled up tightly, begins to unfurl, showing off bright shades of electric blue. Then another, and another. "What the..." She wonders aloud. The flowers continue to unfurl, one by one, until the bright splash of electric blues and deep purples go still. Her forest green eyes scan the spattering of flowers to the left and to the right - they remain closed. Ivy realizes with a start that her anger has completely gone and she feels nothing but a sense of extreme calm.
"Did I just...? No... That's not possible..." Or is it?
