BEST MEMORY changes on a daily basis, but most prominent one that’s stuck with her was when she first realised she was ‘special’ when she accidently used her powers.
WORST MEMORY finding out that her adoptive parents were sending her to the academy, not just because she was trouble but also because they didn’t know how to deal with the fact that she was ‘different.’
LONG-TERM GOAL she doesn’t think too far ahead, but for now – she aspires to be able to find a way to use her powers to make herself fly.

HISTORY
the days are an upper-class, british family who live in london; andrew and elizabeth both have high-paid jobs and since they couldn’t have children themselves and really wanted a family, they decided to adopt a child. as far back as erica can remember, she’d been a part of the day family. she had been adopted by them shortly after birth and had proudly called herself a day even after she found out that she was adopted. they had always loved her like she was their own and always given her the world, therefore even when she overheard them talking about the fact that she was adopted at the age of eight and confronted them almost immediately about it, their reassurance over the fact that they loved her no matter what was enough to comfort her and allow her to live her life normally because even though liz hadn’t been the one to give birth to ricki, she was the one who had bought her up and she was the one ricki really considered to be her mother. the fact that she was adopted wasn’t a detail that was bought up a lot after the day she found out that she was actually adopted.
she went to a primary school in london and then went on to go to a private british high school. despite the fact that her parents had raised her right, once she hit the age of eleven and went to high school, she started to hang out with a slightly more elite and spoilt crowd and despite her young age went through the rookie phase of parties and trying out drinking. she had never been all that inclined academically, despite being an intelligent girl – up until she was eleven, she’d always done well in school without having to try, but as the work load increased and her disinterest towards work grew, her grades slipped and she started to be branded a trouble maker at school. her rebel streak was certainly a cause of worry for her parents and though they tried their best to reign her in, they didn’t really get very far.
it was when she was at a party at the age of thirteen that she first realised she had ‘special’ abilities. it was close to midnight at a christmas party at her friends’ house, and everyone had been drinking the alcohol they had sneaked in from her friend’s parents’ liquor cabinet: ricki had been kissing a boy she had started to get close to at the time and as her emotions and hormones started to run high, a freak wind caused the window to shatter caused everything in the room to fall apart. given that there had been little to no wind blowing outside at the time, the freak storm was definitely cause for concern and as her friend’s parents came running in to check if everyone was okay, ricki couldn’t help but feel as though she had been the one to cause this. when she got home that night, not only was she crying because she was busted for drinking – and kissing boys – when she shouldn’t have been, by her parents, when she insisted that she felt as though she had been the one to cause the freak storm, her parents were partially convinced that she had perhaps been taking things stronger than alcohol because she sounded hysteric and as though she had been hallucinating. but their refusal to believe her only made her angrier and another freak wind blew through their living room window this time as ricki lost control of her emotions and didn’t stop until her parents somehow managed to calm her down.
after that night, her parents came to the conclusion that they could no longer look after her on their own: not only was she doing poorly at school and doing things that could get her into legitimate trouble, she was starting to change in ways that they didn’t understand since they weren’t her birth parents and therefore not elementals. scared and panicked, ricki swore that she’d start to clean up her act so long as they gave her a second chance, but contrary to her protests, her father learnt about the academy and at the start of the new year, ricki was shipped off to canada so that she could learn to control these powers she was developing.
ricki, however, saw this as a form of betrayal and couldn’t help but feel like she was only being sent away because they couldn’t possibly love her anymore since she was different. when she arrived at the academy, her self-esteem had hit rock bottom and she cared little for what anyone thought of her since evidently the people who she actually wanted to have a high opinion of her didn’t anymore. her rebel streak came through a lot stronger and despite having a clean slate, she didn’t try to turn over a new leaf. instead, her grades remained medicore to poor even though she was capable of doing much better and she got into trouble more often than not at the school. she has underage drinking on her criminal record and she has little to no ambition for the future. despite her reckless and indifferent attitude towards life, she was still a relatively decent person. while she emotionally closed herself off to most people because she didn’t want to be hurt by them the way she was by her parents, she still got on decently with the students at the school.
in her three years at the academy, ricki didn’t ever really form a niche or a tight circle of friends. she was the kind of girl who was seen hanging out with a new person every other day and kissing a new person every month. the only thing she really cared for at the school was learning how to control her powers because she thought it was interesting. she also picked up the nasty habit of smoking somewhere along the way at the academy and even though she goes home to her parents every summer and winter break, she’s distanced herself entirely from them. she decided she wanted to learn how to play the guitar in tenth grade, and she’s currently working on fixing that. despite having been in canada for almost two years – she still hasn’t shaken off her british accent.

SECRET WORD correct
RP SAMPLE”No fucking idea,” she muttered darkly as the idea of working a nine to five and having little brats haunted her mind; ugh, that was disgusting. Honestly, she really would much rather off herself than ruin her body by having cranky little needy midgets. A smirk appeared on her face at Beau’s supposed “joke.” It was more of an innuendo, and that was definitely something Kaz could appreciate; she shot him an approving, glance. ”I’ve seen your to-do list, Ollie.” she said, her smirk deepening on her face as the sarcasm in her words made itself known,”You’re not fooling anyone; the only thing on that bloody list isme.” She winked at him, flashing him the briefest of grins. ”It’s alright, I don’t blame you.” Her own tone sounded incredibly amused as she gave Ollie an appreciative once over, looking ahead again, breathing out a bit of a laugh at her own words. To be fair, she’d be a bit worried if she was the only person on Beau’s to-do list: because fuck, that guy was sexy as hell. It wouldn’t be fair to deprive all the other girls out there of someone as good looking as him. And someone had to be around to pick up the slack since most of the other hot guys at Hogwarts seemed to be doing shit like getting into relationships. She could only imagine how the number of girls who threw themselves at Beau had increased ever since the wedding news had come out. Good for bloody him. ”I think you’d be alright surviving, if I’m honest.” she said easily, shooting him a slightly mischievous glance. ”I’m pretty sure there’s a fucking fan-club for you somewhere, Ollie. I know none of those bitches even compare to me, but hey… you’d be occupied.” Kaz winked at him again, knowing full well that he had to appreciate this. While most girls seemed to be really on edge about talking to guys about the other girls they slept with, Kaz frankly couldn’t care less. If anything, she thought that was healthier than just sleeping with one person. Fuck, that had to be boring – and monotonous. No, she appreciated variety, and she hoped for his sake that Beau did too.
She matched his grin, unable to help herself. Ah, this boy got her better than her own supposed “best mate” did these days. ”Oh you have my bloody word,” she assured him, which really was something since Karin Blake didn’t really make promises. Then again, for the most part that was because she knew she wasn’t above breaking them, but the funny thing was, she actually intended to see this one through. To see someone like Beau throw away his glory days for some chick and a briefcase? No, it couldn’t be allowed. ”Well, thank fuck. It’d be a proper shame to lose you to the I-fucked-up-my-life-club.” She nudged him playfully, rolling her eyes. Just about every guy who scored more than a eight out of ten in her books was going ahead and fucking their lives up: Beau was one of the few left who could still score thatwithout drunk-goggles. No, he couldn’t cross over to the other side: all of humanity would pay for it in the form of girls having to sleep with freakinghufflepuffs. Eugh. No. Never-mind. Kaz shot Beau a pointed look at his statement, ”Have you seen me?” she smirked, ”Changing just isn’t an option when you look this good.” She sounded like she was carrying the burden of a thousand souls on her shoulders when she said that, but some days, it really did feel like being good looking was more of an occupation.
But her incredibly large ego was put aside for the time being, as more pressing matters made themselves known. Kaz drew her wand out, a grin lighting up her face as she glanced backwards to roll her eyes at Beau. ”I’m so glad you approve,” she said almost sarcastically, unable to help herself. She knew she was bad- hell, she was probably the worst. Actually, no. Madi was worse than she was, but then again… it depended on what you were talking about. Madi was more the ruin-people’s-life kinda bad. Kaz was more… steal-liquor-and-piss-people-off-with-sarcasm kinda bad. She sneaked up to the window, casting a quick glance around the hut to make sure no one was actually there, before she looked over her shoulder once and crept up to the door, whispering a quick, ”Alohamora!” and hearing the click of the lock unlocking. She smirked, triumphant as she eyed Beau, an almost dangerous gleam in her eyes. Sniggering under her breath, she cracked the door open and snuck in, allowing Beau to do the same and left shutting the door on his hands. Why sneak in through the window when the game-keeper was daft enough to not protect his front door properly? ”Wine, Sherry, Whiskey, Firewhiskey…” she mused, reading the bottles from the cabinet as she strutted up to the place. ”What will it be, Ollie?”
