EYE COLOUR Brown
HAIR COLOUR Brownish blonde
HEIGHT & WEIGHT 5’7,
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES Very distinguishable eyebrows, thick and dark. He hates them. He’s quite short for a guy, which is somewhat distinguishable, and another thing about himself that he hates. He also has a scar across his stomach from when he got into a fight with his brother and came out last.
CLOTHING STYLE
Samuel likes to dress quite casually. He’s the type of guy you see walking around in a pair of jeans or chinos with a tee, cardigan, shirt or jumper, nothing too dressy.

POSITIVE TRAITS
- Samuel doesn’t allow just anybody to get close to him but when he is attached to them, he’s incredibly loyal, trusting and even loving.
- Some would call it arrogance, Sammy prefers to term it confidence. He’s very good at coming across as confident and proud even if he’s not feeling it. He always walks with his head held high, especially in the face of adversity.
- Intelligent. Samuel has always been intelligent and quick to learn. He thrives on learning new things, although often he likes to put up an impression that he doesn’t really care. Nonetheless, he’s obsessed with harnessing his powers and becoming powerful.
- Samuel believes in everything he does, he wouldn’t do it otherwise. Even if what he is doing is wrong or bad, nobody can say that he doesn’t truly believe it’s for the best. His idea of what the best is might be somewhat tainted however.
- He isn’t afraid of doing something because somebody might think it’s uncool. He’s only made a fool of himself when he recognises that he’s made a fool of himself, it’s another part of him being obnoxious only it allows him to speak and act freely.
NEGATIVE TRAITS
- He acts upon his emotions without much thought
- Because he acts without thinking, he’s often seen as selfish and thoughtless, especially when it comes to girls. For example, if he likes a girl at that moment in time he’ll go for her, and maybe tomorrow he won’t like her as much, and he fails to take her feelings into consideration.
- Samuel has a very short temper which often gets him into trouble. He’s very irritable and picks fights often with people who are above his weight, so to speak.
- Grudges. Samuel is notorious for holding grudges. If anybody has wronged him or a friend in the past, he will hate them for a very long time and he’ll let them know it.
- Bullying. So Sammy doesn’t see himself as a bully but he certainly can be. If he doesn’t like somebody, even for the most superficial reason, he’ll be relentless in going after them, and he’s only usually content if he’s defeated them or gotten to them in some way. It’s a part of his personality that he doesn’t like to recognise or deal with.
- He doesn’t like to admit he’s wrong and can be obnoxious in arguing that he’s right, even if he knows inside that he is wrong, whether it is about a person, trivia or even a movie. If you do receive an apology then it means he actually cares about you, although it’s rare that he swallows his pride.
- Samuel can be naïve when it comes to those he loves and cares about. He’s too trusting and so he can be taken advantage of and manipulated very easily. He kind of sees himself as invincible, he doesn’t believe that anybody would bother trying to hurt him so when it happens it really knocks him down.
- Self destructive. Samuel is very emotional. As previously mentioned, he acts upon his emotions so when he’s especially angry or upset he can become very self destructive, and sometimes reverts to self harm. He doesn’t think he has a problem because it’s not like he pulls out a blade that often, only occasionally and he helps him feel better as opposed to making him feel worse. It’s a release for the pain he feels.
LIKES
- His family, especially his big brother. He really idolises him.
- Girls. He has a rather large sexual appetite.
- Fights. Samuel loves to fight people, especially the adrenaline rush that it produces. He loves it even more when he wins.
- His element. Fire is something that has always intrigued Sammy, he’s incredibly passionate about learning to control, manipulate and create it.
DISLIKES
- His appearance. Sam wouldn’t admit this to anybody but it’s the truth. He thinks he looks weird; his eyebrows are way too defined, he absolute hates his nose and his smile. On top of that he’s only 5’7. He wishes he was taller, if anything else.
- Being humiliated.
- Liars. Sammy is too trusting of people. If he trusts somebody he won’t question what they say, this is somewhat problematic when they lie. He views lies as the biggest betrayal.
- Being reckless. He kind of hates the fact that he’s so reckless and that he acts upon his instincts so much, especially when it comes to girls. It has happened before that he’s liked a girl, but then got with her friend because in the moment, it felt right. He has an ability to screw up any relationship because he just doesn’t think.
- Earth elements and water elements. First off, they’re entirely lame elements. He views them as kind of being weak and inferior to the stronger elements of, firstly fire and secondly thunder. Although that’s not entirely true of water, he hates water because well water trumps fire.
- Whilst he idolises his big brother, he hates how Sawyer makes him feel. Sawyer is the golden boy of the family and Samuel always feels the need to prove himself, which usually back fires since Sawyer is talented at putting his younger brother down.
STRENGTHS
- Self control. Sam has good control over his powers. He has to be really quite emotional before he does lose control of them, however the same cannot be said for his mouth or fists.
- Pushes himself. He’s determined to be better, to be something more. He wants to make his family proud and live up to their high expectations, so he rarely gives up.
- Passion. He’s incredibly passionate about a lot of things.
WEAKNESSES
- His emotions. He’s victim to them, they rule him, they rule what he does.
- His naivety.
- His brother, Sawyer. Sawyer has the ability to crush him with only a few words.
FEARS
- Falling in love. It’s such a big commitment.
- Never making his family proud.
- Being exiled. This fear is kind of irrational because he’s done nothing that would result in exile but he’s always afraid of it.
- Not achieving anything with his life.
BEST MEMORY
Getting high with a couple of really good friends. It’s amongst Sam’s best memory anyway, if not his best. He just remembers feeling so free and happy, and giddy. He’s never felt so relaxed in a long while, nor have his friends ever been so hilarious.
WORST MEMORY
Samuel’s worst memory turns his complexion a bright shade of red. Basically it was his first year at the academy, and he was in an argument with some guy a year older than him. It had gotten pretty intense, and there was quite an audience developing. Samuel felt on fire, metaphorically of course, he was really in his element. The adrenaline was rushing through his veins, and he was sure that it would get violent, at least he was hoping it would. He was so in the moment that he didn’t realise his brother had snuck up on him. Instead of being crowned king of that argument, he became laughing stock of the academy for at least a week, all because Sawyer had kegged him. It was the most publicly humiliating thing that’s ever happened to him. He couldn’t even pretend like he didn’t care, he wasn’t able to play it cool.
LONG-TERM GOAL Samuel somewhat agrees with his parents, that they, the elementals, are of a superior race and therefore he hopes that sometime in his lifetime he’s a part of the elementals that take over the world. This is ambitious but it’s what he wants to accomplish in his life. A less ambitious goal in theory, in practise probably more ambitious, would be to make his parents and his brother proud of him.

HISTORY
Samuel was born to two thunder elements, Maria and Jonathan Brenston. By the time that Samuel was born, they had been married five years and already had a son, Sawyer. They had only ever intended to have one child, and so far Sawyer had been everything they had wanted in a child. He was smart, happy, well behaved and every day reminded his parents of a younger version of themselves. Samuel was the child that they weren’t meant to have, the mistake. Nonetheless his parents didn’t believe in abortion, and so nine month later they had a second child. It wasn’t such a disaster, especially if he were to take after his brother. The parents were a couple of elitists, they believed that elementals shouldn’t be hiding, that they should be out there ruling the humans, a race that they considered to be inferior. This was the reason that they aimed to get powerful jobs in government and law, they believed that if they had an inside position they would be in the best place to mount an attack. They wanted to have a child because they could train that child and make him or her a good warrior, a soldier for their cause. They wanted to dedicate all of their time to this child so that they would excel at controlling their element and become powerful quickly, hence their desire for one hundred percent commitment for one child. When Sam was born however, they tried to see it as a positive; they could train another child and have another, stronger elemental for their army.
The early years passed as they would with any other child; extreme discipline from the start, and a strong, healthy competition between he and his elder brother. But unlike most children Samuel didn’t detest this. He enjoyed being pushed from the start and thirsted to learn. His parents taught him a lot in the early years, he was introduced to the basics of language, math, science and history, in particular history of the elementals. He was encouraged to think of himself and his family as better than they were, and furthermore encouraged to treat humans, those without the powers of the elements, as though they were scum. It was clear from an early age that Samuel wasn’t as cool or controlled as Sawyer was. He didn’t follow instruction very well, often having a tantrum before doing as he was told, especially if the required job was chores. And then when he lost to his brother in a competition, he would always get really upset and aggressive. From a young age, it was obvious that he was controlled by his emotions which wouldn’t do good on the battle field. He needed to be entirely in control of them. His parents tried to beat this out of him, sometimes literally but usually just with put downs and lectures. Samuel was always emotional though, and their words just made him more aggressive. True he felt the need to impress them, to make them as proud of him as they were of his brother but these goals were all lead by his emotions, and they have continued to be throughout the years, so his parents didn’t really succeed.
He and Sawyer had an interesting relationship as they grew up. They were quite close, in the sense that they spent a lot of time together, but Sawyer was the golden boy. He made his parents proud and he was all too aware of the problems with his brother. He had a habit of putting Samuel down, a habit that got worse as he aged but Sammy didn’t hate him, if anything he hated himself for not being the little brother that Sawyer had hoped for. He absolutely idolised Sawyer and often tried to dress like him, even try to be like him, although without much luck. Sawyer enjoyed the fact that Samuel was easy to wind up, he found his extreme reactions quite hilarious, as well the fact that he could get Sam to do pretty much anything. Despite the way he treated his brother, Samuel never lost faith that Sawyer had his best interests at heart and therefore if Sawyer told him to go something he shouldn’t or say things he shouldn’t, Sam would do it believing that it was the right thing to do. Sawyer often got him in trouble this way. Things got a little bit worse for Sammy when he was about ten and Sawyer started to develop his abilities. Of course his element was thunder, just as his parents had hoped. Sawyer was about thirteen or fourteen at this point, and he soon went off to the Academy. Samuel was extremely jealous. He wanted to be just like his brother, he wanted to be at the academy with him but he was too young. Still Samuel became obsessed and he did a lot of research about the academy and the thunder element. He really hoped he’d be thunder, just like his brother. He had to be, it was in his blood line.
A few years passed and Samuel’s parents were eager to see another of their child go to the Academy. They started to train Samuel to reach and connect with his element, constantly pushing him to develop this. Eventually it happened. They were having a candle lit dinner and lecturing him about how he wasn’t as good as his brother, about how he needed to work harder, about how disappointed they were. Well Samuel was pretty disappointed too, or rather he was distraught. He tried really harder, he really wanted to be who his parents wanted him to be. He started to cry, and his dad shouted at him and continued to do so because men weren’t meant to cry, or at least not men in his family. He wouldn’t shut up, he just kept going on and on. Samuel began to get angry and the candle light began to flicker. His father continued, his shouting getting louder and louder. Sammy wanted to attack him, it was like his entire body was on fire. And then the candle flared before extinguishing, and his parents stopped their shouting, they stopped everything. Samuel hadn’t realised what had happened or what it meant. The next thing he knew his parents were cheering, fire was his element. Samuel protested to this at first because his brother was thunder and so should he be if he was to be just like Sawyer, he hadn’t bothered doing much research into the other elements, but it pleased his parents and so he supposed it was alright. After all the more elements the better the takeover, they thought.
Shortly afterwards Samuel enrolled in the Academy. It was everything he’d hoped for and more. There were girls there for one, and by this age he’d started to get quite the appetite for the opposite sex. And then there were the other elementals, people he was meant to have a rivalry with. It suited him perfectly because he’d been used to bullying the other kids in his neighbourhood, the kids who didn’t have elements, and he’d been slightly worried that he wouldn’t be able to feel superior over anybody there. He was wrong, he was still able to strut around, acting as if he owned the place. The Academy became his favourite place, and he worked hard to develop his abilities, especially since his brother was so talented at this point, a real overachiever what with his parents constant pushing whenever he went home. The same occurred with Samuel, they insisted he work in the holidays to push himself, often trying to get him to do things beyond his level. He wasn’t as good as doing this as his brother was and it caused his parents to get frustrated easily. Nonetheless, he worked hard when he was at the Academy in the hopes of impressing them. It was at the Academy that he really came into himself, both with his element and his personality. Being surrounded by other fire elementals encouraged his recklessness and arrogance, but brought out a loyalty in him that he’d only ever shared with his family.

RP SAMPLECaine had prolonged breaking up with Roxy because he didn’t want to do it. He enjoyed being with her, the way she made him feel. She had been the only person who stood by him when all that drama went on between he, Cameron and Cameron’s army; she had rebuilt him, made him feel okay about himself and even happy. She was the type of girl who was always herself and usually herself was funny, at least that’s what Caine found. He loved how open she was, how goofy they could be together, how they could pretend to be King and Queen and keep it up for days on end before any one of them openly admitted that they were not King or Queen. Caine didn’t want to lose that but even so, that part of their relationship could survive into friendship, it was the other parts that he was less eager to lose. He loved having a girlfriend; he loved being able to make her feel special, to hold her and feel how her body met his, the shape and feel of her petite, feminine form, the way it should be. He loved kissing her because her lips were so soft and girly, there was never any stubble on her upper lip as it was with kissing boys. And she had boobs, Caine was a big fan of them, he was a big fan of girls. Before he’d met Cameron he’d never actually imagined that he’d be able to have feelings for a man or want to be in a relationship with one, and even now his choice of porn would certainly be feminine. It was just difficult to have to break up with Roxy when he craved her so much, when he liked her so much. He kind of wished he could be a bigamist, have Roxy and Cameron, or maybe merge them into one person, or better yet just have a three way relationship. He didn’t want to lose either of them but he was desperately in love with Cameron and Cameron would not be happy if he knew that Caine hadn’t broken up with Roxy yet, so there it was, he had to break up with Roxy.
But he felt like such a dick. He hadn’t meant to use her but no matter how he thought about it, he was clearly using her. It was like he was in a relationship with her until things got sorted out with Cameron. He didn’t want to be the guy who did that, who hurt people that he really liked. It wasn’t fair how things could be so perfect with Cameron yet he’d have to hurt Roxy, to break up with her even though he wanted to be with her too. It was late at night, and the sea was coming in rough, smashing against the sand. It was a bit dramatic but beautiful to watch, relaxing. There was nothing more chaotic than the sea, no matter how crazy Caine’s mind was right now, no matter what he had to do to Roxy. He shivered beneath his thick parka coat; the beach was not the warmest time in January but it was still beautiful. He didn’t want Roxy to hate him, so why not ask her to meet him at the beach? It was the kind of place that he’d take her for a romantic stroll as opposed to a break up but he wasn’t exactly experienced when it came to break ups. His break up with Cameron for example was still giving him grief all these months later. He pulled his knees up to his chest, hugging them tightly as he looked out beneath the fur of his hood. He hadn’t exactly prepared very well for spending winter here in Florida; he’d packed for a much colder season, he’d packed for snow, yet this was the first time he’d had to wear his coat and he supposed it was from the cold breeze that came from the sea. Caine missed the snowy winters from his home, in fact he missed home. He was still stranded in Florida; he even had to spend Christmas there because apparently he had yet to learn his lesson, his father had said. Caine translated that to mean that his father was working on a campaign that he didn’t want Caine to ruin; it was always easier for his dad to keep him someplace else, he supposed he was an easier son to love from a distance. Caine sighed miserably, the heavy weight of what he had to do boring down hard on his shoulders. He pulled out his phone, glancing down at his lock screen. It was a picture of Roxy, as much as he loved Cameron he wasn’t yet ready to change it. He supposed it was an interesting turn of events, like he was trading one for the other. It wasn’t fair. He pouted, frowning as he sent Roxy a text message, asking her to meet him at the beach. He’d probably be easy to find, he was the only one on it. He dropped back against the damp sand, allowing his phone to fall free from his hand and land on his stomach.
