The Challenge || Write a 50,000-word novel in the 30 days of November. The Website || Here
So. Who's doing it? if you've never heard of it before, it's basically as the challenge says. Write 50,000 words in 30 days. That's about the length of The Great Gatsby and considerably shorter than the first Harry Potter book (which I think is along 60,000 if I remember correctly). It doesn't sound too hard, and for some people it isn't. It's proven a challenge for the last two years for me, but I'm determined to get it done. Third time's the charm, right? So what are you guys' experiences with NaNo, if you're at all familiar with it? Has anybody gotten the magic 50,000 (btw, I did the math today, and if you follow the daily suggested minimum, you actually reach 50,010 words)? Do you love it? Why might you refuse to do it? Is it too much work to bother? Just curious. it's only a week away, after all :3

ohhh nano. lol i actually did it for, i think, the past 4 years (i think 4 -- not 5... i think? maybe) BUT WORD i never got to 50 000 though i think one year i did super well for like 2 and a half weeks and i was ahead of the curve and then... i don't remember what happened, actually. i think school just hit me in the face like a brick wall. that was the closest i've been, though! anyway, i think i'm actually hopping out on it this year. >> just because... ugh, i have no time. i do love it though. and everyone should try.

This is like my favourite thing ever, so. XD
Anyway! Ahem. I did nano last year, I think that was my first year, and gooooood loooord did I fail at life. I don't know how many words but I got like three pages and then forgot and got attacked by school and yeah. XD It kind of sucked. But THIS YEAR! Despite the fact I'm taking harder classes and doing more stuff, I WILL GET THIS DONE! I must!
So needless to say, yes, I am most definitely doing this. YES.

I did NANOWRIMO for the first time last year. I actually got started late - started about November 17th. And I did complete it. I actually finished my book around 9:00 PM on November 30th with a final of 65,000 words more or less. I really enjoyed the experience. I took my laptop with me just about everywhere, and wrote whenever the muse took me. I intend to do it again this year, though it'll be tough. I have the IB and all of my college apps due in November so I'm hoping to get done whatever I can in my free time.
