Amusing, that's what it was. Tatyana hadn't been able to figure out what she felt about it beforehand. First she'd thought ridiculous, then annoying, then hilarious...but she really hadn't felt enough about it for any of those terms to work sufficiently. So, she finally decided it was amusing. Ace Lupus was a very talented and hard-working fighter, she had to admit. He did the best in PE, and she was secretly thankful to him that he was one of the only people in the class who didn't complain about anything they did. Push-ups, running, weight lifting, dodge ball. He was good with them all.
Still, it was amusing that he'd challenged her to a sparring session, proving himself to be the only person in the entire school with the balls to do so. Seeing as the only times she got to really fight anymore were the time she got drunk and got into bar fights, this was a good thing for her. Tatyana hid it well, but there was something inside her that always itched to just punch something. Not out of a malicious, angry intent, but because it felt really, really good to feel limber, to feel the rush. Huh. Maybe she was cracked, like many of her students thought.
The young teacher had given him detailed directions to a clearing she liked to use to train in, and then gone on ahead when her classes for the day were over. Slung over her shoulder was a back-pack with a first aid kit, several water bottles, a couple towels, and some power bars. It was the standard she brought to every session, though the power bars were mostly for the other person, once they'd been thoroughly whipped. Yana smiled a bit as she stepped through the wild. She was getting cocky. When she reached the clearing of choice, she set the pack down and started picking up rocks, sticks, and other harmful debris.
Looking upward, Yana gauged the weather. It was clear for now, but it would start raining lightly within the next hour. Which was good, because it would help with keeping them cool and hydrated. Ideal. Once her work was finally done, the woman lounged next to the pack, fiddling with the handle of the bowie knife she always kept strapped to her back beneath her shirt. There was a certain way she could do it without making it show too much, so she normally got away with carrying it wherever she went.

Ace was a normal B+ student. In all of his classes except maybe one, That one class was PE. He honestly was one of the best in that class. And he didn’t complain because he liked to do all that physical stuff, it was his strong suit. He liked dodge ball the best because he was really really good at it. He got a little annoyed when people complained about something in that class. It was PE they were supposed to do physical things. At least it wasn’t like his old school where they had t o learn Health class alongside with PE. Bad memories that class is.
Ace was surprised that Tatyana, or Teach, as he called her for lack of better nicknames, had accepted his challenge to actually spar/fight with him. HE was pretty sure he was the only one who ever had done so, mostly because most kids didn’t fight teachers and there was a rumor that Teach was a killer fighter who fight evenly with Chuck Norris. He didn’t believe them of course, he did think she could fight, just not as good as the Cman himself. You had to be able to fight to become the PE teacher of the Academy didn’t you?
Ace looked down at the piece of paper where his quick written direction notes were. Turn left once you get to the big rock, head straight and you should be there That was what was written on the note, he thought shrugging staring up at the rather large rock in front of him. He turned left and headed straight. Over his shoulder he had a back pack with only one strap, the other had broken from repeated use, in it were his Medical tape to protect his knuckles somewhat when he punched, a few water bottles and an apple that he forgot he had put in from the last sparring session with Elaine, so it was rather bruised.
Ace entered the clearing and looked around spying his white haired rather hot but still slightly scary PE teacher playing with a rather large knife. “Hey Teach you always carry a knife around?” He said a little apprehensive about her and that knife. He placed his bag down next to hers and wrapped up his knuckles with the blue medical tape. “So you sure you want to do this there’s no backing out.” He said as he finished wrapping up his fist.
“Do you want to set up some ground rules like no crotch shots, if you fall then we start over, etcetera etcetera?” He said remembering how he nearly forgot the rules to him and Elaine’s first sparring session.

Tatyana was just tossing the knife up and catching it dangerously when Ace walked into the clearing. Though she wasn't in any sort of angry or especially aggressive mood at the moment, she was aware of what the presence of a knife did to others. She could just be sitting around doing nothing and she might be unapproachable, but add in a bowie knife and she'd be actively evaded. It was like a little bonus. Really, she kept the thing around her as a sort of obsessive compulsive deal. Since she'd obtained it, there had been only one night that she hadn't had it on her. That...had no been a good night.
He came up to her, eying the knife nervously but otherwise unafraid. Yana nodded to herself, twisting the knife in her hands so she could easily sheath it in the leather behind her back. ”Yes, I do, for the most part.” She answered, standing and watching him wrap his knuckles. A light smile hovered over her features, ”How hard are you planning on hitting me?” She very much doubted he'd get more than one or two shots off, anyway. At least that connected. Still, she didn't interrupt his work. She'd already strengthened her bones enough to be safe without the cushioning.
Tatyana was hard put not to snort when he asked if she'd like to back down. She looked at him sharply, her expression inscrutable. Did he really think he could beat her? Even if they took their powers out of the equation, she'd still have the upper hand by...a lot. She'd heard about his reputation, the least defeated boy of the highschool grades, but that wasn't everything. Ah well. She smiled to herself. She could definitely teach him a few lessons here.
Finally, she said, ”Yes, I'm sure.” There was the barest amount of amusement in her tone as she looked him over. She listened to his few cursory rules, and she shook her head a little bit. ”No crotch shots, but if you can get up before you're pinned, go ahead and continue. Go ahead and go for my face, I'll go for yours. Say uncle if you need a breather and some water. No weapons other than hands and and feet, and, for your benefit, no powers.” She smiled at him, already starting to feel her blood run from the thought of sparring.

“Ah.” Ace said with a bemused answer as she sheathed her knife. “Umm, It’s only a sparring session so, not to hard to hurt you but hard enough that you feel it.” He said only guessing at how hard he should punch her. He didn’t know really he just punched and if it was against a friend in a sparring session he wouldn’t hit hard. Of course this was his teacher so he might hit a little harder.
He thought to himself how the hell would he go about fighting her? He had no idea how she fought but with the way she handled that knife he guessed pretty well. Well Ace was no push over either and he heard rumors that she had once been the fighting champion back when she was in school. It was only natural for Ace, The one who was least defeated out of the school, to fight the ex champion of the school. He had no idea how out of his league he was.
He smiled, face shots and if you fall so long as you don’t get pinned it was still a go? That sounded like a lot of fun to Ace. Ace nodded to her rule of no powers he sucked at using his powers, the only few moves that he thought he was good at was his water jets and his bullets. Controlling powers for Ace was manageable, not difficult but not easy either. He preferred to use his fists when it came to fighting.
Ace stood up and rolled his shoulder and took ten paces away from Tatyana. “Alright Teach rules are set up, we’re both ready. Now Bring it.” Ace said with a very big smile, he was going to have fun in this match. He took his fighting stance and bounced on the balls of his feet. He opened his palm and did the ‘Come here’ motion teasing her.

”So, harder than you plan on.” She corrected him. It was a little game she liked to play, not really telling the other person what a crazy good fighter she was and utterly confusing them with her comments beforehand. This one had to do with not hard enough to hurt you. If he wanted to do damage that she would actually care about later, he'd have to throw some pretty heftly blows. Yana fought rough, and enjoyed the feeling of scrapes and bruises on her skin. Yeah, she was little weird.
He seemed to be happy with the rules she'd set out, not disputing any of them and even smiling. She raised her brow at him, but said nothing. Maybe he liked it rough, too. Albeit, he was a fighter, so he had to have at least some backbone. Tatyana just hoped her was good enough to give her some sort of a workout. She followed his example, humoring his ten paces away thing, and fell into a usual army knife-fighting stance. Only without the knife, obviously.
He spoke, and she gave him a rare smile. She waited for a second, sizing him up, his balance, his extraordinary self confidence, and decided that yeah, she could hold back. Wouldn't he like being able to fight back for a minute or two. ”Alright.” She said, pulling herself out of her stance in order to stretch her neck a little bit. ” I'll start of slow for you.” She started walking toward him normally, as if she was just closing the distance in order to say hello. Then, at three paces away, she flashed him a grin and rushed him.
She flew forward, aiming a right hook at his jaw and then two quick jabs at his gut with her left hand. Afterward, she slid around him to the left, twisting in a slower but very powerful roundhouse with her right leg. Sure, it lost her some balance, but when she didn't have a knife in her hands, her legs were her greatest asset.

“Erm yea?” He said shaking his head. Even out of school she was still a teacher. Geeze. He decided that good strong blows would be okay since she seemed like the type who could take them. And she was older and probably stronger than his usual opponents so strong hit’s shouldn’t be bad.
Oh shit, she smiled. Ace thought to himself as he saw her teeth. She never smiled , ever. Never in class never when they did something without complaining, she always had that stone cold emotionless look, or was it more of a glare? Either way Ace dropped his smile suddenly realizing how much crap he just dove into. But he kept a grin because some part of him, the animalistic instinct driven part thought that this was going to be a lot of fun.
There it was another smile, but he didn’t have time to think on this one. She flew at him, he had no idea to expect this. She was very very fast, and he only got out of the way enough of her punch that he felt her knuckles brush his skin. However he couldn’t dodge the two jabs to the gut and he nearly got the wind knocked out of him. She slid to the left and Ace only got one arm up in time to block that roundhouse. Damn his arm hurt but now it was his turn and he wouldn’t be showing how much it hurt.
Ace ducked as she completed her round house and sprang up with a right uppercut, followed by two hooks to the gut. He was close to her know close enough that he attempted to wrap his leg around hers and throw his body weight so that he toppled her. It was a risky move because she could get a pretty strong hit with him being so close, but he couldn’t risk backing away to guard from another barrage of hits.

The boy blocked her kick, causing her to gain a smirk and pull it back into a more balanced position. No sooner had she gotten her feet than he was upon her, throwing out his own barrage of hooks and punches. She only had to take a step and lean to the side to avoid the uppercut, but she brought her hands up and together to block the jarring blows. He was going all out on her. That was good. She actually felt the reverberations up her arms, keeping her from making the move the punch until it was too late to make a move.
He stepped very, very close to her and brought him leg around hers. Trying to get out of it at this point would make her balance even worse, so she just situated herself for the fall, landing in a barely-painful way. Almost before her back hit the ground, Yana's leg was kicking upward into his...tenders. Only not. She stopped an inch before she hit. Not because she'd feel all that bad for him, but because it was against the rules of the fight. Still, she smiled at him sweetly, winking once and saying, ”You should be careful who you use that move on.”
Then she rolled out of the way and got to her feet, turning on him without another word. This round hadn't ended, because he hadn't pinned her. So there was barely a pause before the young woman was off again, gaining her kick-boxing stance and throwing two front-kicks at his torso. After she did this, she hop-skipped forward to close the distance and feigned a punch. Then she stepped around to his side and gave him a shove on the the back of his shoulder, one which was meant to turn his back to her.

Ace felt her block his punches and was impressed she could, but then again she was fast, probably faster than him. He was fast too, he was working on his speed with Elaine but he was on par with her so there wasn't much speed training the two did. IT was more balance and technique that the two had decided to train. His speed just could barley match up to hers.
Ace felt the leg nearly hit his, parts. Danm that was close, and he guessed if he hadn't said that one rule she wouldn't have stopped. He gave her a mock smile " You know Teach, Your very very scary." He said. Holy crap wasn't she scared him alot. Like alot alot especially when she smiled. It was scary because she hadn't smiled before. If she wasn't so scary Ace might have ventured to said she had a cute smile, and she was pretty hot.
Ace had only gotten up when she kicked him in the chest. He was able to block the second kick but barely, Ace blocked his the punch only to realize to late that it was a feint. He felt her push and it made him turn so that his back was wide open to her. HE knew what was happening so hed droped to the ground to try and dodge any attack she made. He rolled over trying to trip her up. He pushed himself up and went with a round house kick to the chest. Once his foot landed back onto the ground ace hopped backwards. "Geeze Teach your fast."he said catching his breath.

”I know.” She said this in the sort of way she might have said the sky was blue—it was like and inescapable, irrefutable fact of life. But at least she embraced it, and enjoyed that about herself. Back at the military academy, she'd once been told it was what made her hot. When he'd gotten him turned around, he actually did exactly what she'd been planning on making him do—he fell to the ground. She was just reaching out her hands to push him over when he dropped and tried to trip her.
Yana deftly jumped over him and landed a couple feet away. Seeing as he didn't wait long enough to gain proper stance before he sent the roundhouse kick at her, she went for style rather than efficiency. The woman basically did the limbo, bending backward until she'd reached behind her and put a hand on the grass. As soon as his leg passed over her, she pulled herself up to a standing position and dusted herself down a bit. Mmm, that was satisfying bend. It took much more effort than most of her other moves, so she liked throwing it in everyone once in awhile.
She took a breath, looking at him as he bounded away from her and took a little breather. ”Say uncle if you need a break.” She said, her tone as hard to read as always. If anything, it was overly patronizing, and ever so slightly amused. Yes, she was breathing heavier than usual, too. But she wasn't breathing heavily. No, she'd barely gotten started. Tatyana faced him completely, looking him over once and narrowing her eyes. ”Alright, no more holding back.” It could easily have been interpreted as though she was telling him to bring it, but no. In reality, she was warning him that she was no longer going to go easy.
Tatyana fell back into her stance—knife fighting, not kick boxing—and gave him a very similar beckon to the one he'd used at the beginning of the spar. She tilted her head a bit, her expression clearing into one with the barest hint of a smile, and said, ”Come on, squirt.”

“Hah alright Keanu Reeves! I’m not saying uncle until I’ve gotten you on the floor!” He said at her then instantly realized what he said. “I mean when I’ve pinned you!” Ace took a deep breath and exhaled slowly catching his breath once more. “What? That’s you holding back!?” He said a little unsure of himself then he regained his confidence, and composure “Well I’m not going to hold back either!” He said stretching the truth a little, as he regained his fighting stance.
Damn she was limber, he was pretty sure she just did that Matrix dodge for show more than anything. He was more than sure she could have dodged that. That wasn’t fair now she was just showing off. Now Ace wouldn’t hold back, he knew she could easily take the blows and she said no more holding back. Oh if only he could use his powers he thought as he started to feel a drop of rain. The environment was curving to his advantage and he wasn’t allowed to use it. He would have used his water jets or maybe even some of his water bullets. But it was against the rules and Ace was one to go with the rules.
“Squirt really?” He said to himself comparing height differences, he was pretty sure he was taller than her. “Fine Teach I’ll bring it.” He said and he was off exerting more energy making him sprint faster. He feigned a punch and instead he slid into the dirt trying to get close enough for his next move, he sprung up with a punch aiming for her chin. That punch was followed by a double strike one fist aiming for her face the other for her chest. As he moved he began to take on Elaine’s flowy kind of fighting style. After another attempt to punch her in the chest he sidestepped to her right and went with a roundhouse kick. Ace wasn’t pulling punches anymore he knew she could take his punches and maybe even Elaine’s notorious power punch.

Grey eyes turned from amused to something akin to interest when he spoke. They narrowed a bit, waiting for him to realize what he'd just said. Yup, there it was. Her corrected himself and she let out a silent chuckle or two, her eyes moving to the side before glancing up at him with a bemused light. ”Ace, if there is something you want from me, that's great.” She didn't every try to hide the teasing tone, ”But you may want to wait for a more opportune moment.” Nothing in her demeanor hinted at whether she was actually being serious or not.
Yana cocked her head to one side, ”You're what, nine years younger than I? Ten?” She nodded, her point made. ”Squirt.” It was a rather funny nickname, seeing as he was taller, broader, and much more imposing-looking than she. He was a built fighter, and though she was as well, it tended to show better on the male physique. Which could either be a good thing or a bad thing for her, depending on the occasion. Ace then fell for the taunt, giving his teacher a nice little smirk. Then, she face went disturbingly blank—now she was being serious.
Blocking a barrage or punches was easy enough—just imagine your opponent with a knife in his hand. Then it changed from pain to death, and that was much better motivation. Tatyana knew to be ready for anything, so when he charged she waited until the last moment to block. Which was fortunate, because it meant she was not committed to her movement when he changed directions. The young woman shifted her feet and swatted his uppercut away from her face. She had to totally spring out of the way for his next move, knowing she couldn't match his brute strength in any sort of a grappling match.
She had to admit, he was suddenly a bit more on his game. If he hadn't suddenly switched fighting styles, she would have been able to take him down with a counter to his next move easily. But he did, and she was stuck for a few moments figuring out how this one worked. She deflected his punch, but it was unexpected, so he actually did managed to catch her on the hip. Damn. She bit her lip, her face turning even more stony. He started on the roundhouse kick, and she gained a little determination.
Yana set her feet, twisted, reached out with both hands, and raised her head to look him straight in the eyes as she did so. His leg slammed into her open hands, but she levered her whole body into it, resulting in them both, suddenly still, his leg caught firmly in both of her strong hands. Granted, the blow had hurt both her hands, but it was worth it. She started stepping toward him, pushing on his leg to make him lose balance. Then she shoved him over entirely. He landed on his back, and Tatyana was instantly standing over him, putting the heel of her boot lightly against a vulnerable part of his neck. She applied enough pressure for him to feel it and be unable to move without making it worse, but that was all. No pain.

Ace totally blushed when she teased him, he was not expecting that and thus was a little flustered. "H-HEY!" He shouted. "I-im not into old ladies like you alright! I prefer nice young women thank you very much." He said defensivly. That wasn't fair how could she flirt with him, they were in a middle of a session. Granted he flirted with a few of his opponents when they were of the opposite sex. Wow that was wierd, did she just tease him? Was something wrong? Was this a trick of some sort? What the hell was going on?
"Excuse me I'm six years younger than you and have more experience where it counts, if you know what I'm saying." If she wanted to tease him hell to it he would tease her back. "Shush old lady." He said in defence of the squirt comment.Oh great whats worse than her smilig, when she goes from smiling to dead fricken serious. Ace knew he was in for some great big trouble now. Oh great, he migt as well have let loose and went animalistic on her. Geeze this was really pushing his limits.
Fuck! Ace mentally cursed as she blocked his uppercut. He needed to figure out how the hell to land something. It was taking a lot of effort to throw the punches and only to have them blocked or avoided. Great he was running out of energy. She jumped out of reach and he knew he could beater if he could grab a good hold on her . Now how to get close enough to grab her.
Hell he nearly laughed out loud when he felt something connect. YES! he shouted inside his head he got a hit. But now danm it was going to be alot harder to get another slight connection. How the hell was he going to do that now? HE managed to get her what seemed to be a little off gaurd by switching fighting styles. He decided he would switch styles again and maybe throw her off his game, maybe.
Ace cursed as he fell onto his back. What! How?! Ace thought as she stood above him. How had she been able to grab his leg? Was he not fast enough, strong enough? Ace's head glared up at his pinner, He wanted to squirm get out of it somehow. "Your a totall dominatrix aren't you." He said trying to distract her from his left hand. In that hand was a fist full of dirt, hey it wasn't against the rules and it might be a little dirty, hah funny pun. He took a deep breath and threw up the handfull of dirt, hoping it distracted her from that boot on his neck he pushed the boot off with his right hand. He coughed as he looked up "Well this is a little compramising isn't it?" He said as he pushed himself away from those boots which were connected to those legs and.. well the rest of her. He crouched away from her changing styles again, this time he was more or less relying on his instincts and more, animallistic behavior.
Ace sprinted in a zig zag pattern, and aimed a punch for her stomach then he jumped back. He was going for a hit and run tactic sorta like gurilla warefare. HE ran at her and did a flying kick his second in a while. That kick was followed by a low sweep to try and trip her and turn him towards her at the same time.

”Good luck on your final years of being a young man, then.” Was all she said to him. If she was an old lady he was at least middle aged, and that didn't leave him very much time. To do anything. Especially find a young lady. Tatyana followed his movements and attacks well, continuing until she took a second to breath with her heel on his throat. He was more a of a challenge than anyone else at the academy, she had to give him that. Given a fair fight, he could do pretty well. If they were ever fighting for real, though, he'd be screwed. Her boot on his windpipe was a testament to that.
”Mmm.” She considered, then shook her head a bit, ”Only to those I don't know very well.” Tatyana was powerful, and when put in a place of authority she doled out discipline with a will. But she was far from the type of person to control another's life. Unfortunately for her, she was cocky enough not to expect Ace to try anything foolhardy while he was in such a vulnerable position. So no, she was not ready for the dirt that flew into her face, making her start in surprise. At that point she was actually glad that he immediately pushed her boot off on him, because she had lost her balance enough that a second later it was carrying most of her weight.
He spoke just as she was getting the last of it out of her eyes, and she looked down at him with a blank expression. One corner of her mouth tugged up a little bit as she answered, ”Not as much as it could be.” This was amusing. As a rule, Tatyana didn't make a habit of flirting with her students. But Ace was getting himself into all sorts of uncomfortable positions today, and she really couldn't help herself. She never could.
She allowed him to roll away and pull himself up into a crouch without any problems, though his position had been vulnerable for most of the movement. Then she stepped back, watching him closely to make sure she didn't miss anything. Then he moved. He was switching styles on her again. That would only work on her a number of times before it prove ineffective. He could only have so many styles of fighting up to par, so she just had to learn them all. After all, she was the better fighter. She could easily keep up her stamina to see them all. Hit and run hadn't seemed his style, though.
Yana rolled with the punch, allowing it to connect in order to keep herself from stumbling out of the way. Instead of taking it head on, however, she did step back some and also the impulse to turn into a more prolonged contact, weakening the damage. There was pain, but it hardly knocked her off of her feet. She was about to step forward and make use of the proximity, but he danced away like a damned butterfly. Emotionless, The teacher tracked his movements until he tried a flying kick.
Then she ducked, rolling under him to that he would pass overhead and she would be on her feet already when he landed. She turned toward him just in time to see him sweep at her legs, and instinct kicked in, She jumped in the air with both legs, one of them kicking out at the side of his head. Unlikely he'd be able to dodge this, seeing as he was just finishing his own kick. When she landed, she backed away a bit and then looked to see if she'd done any damage.

"Well you could be wearing a skirt." He said with a laugh. She was flirting with him and somehow he felt more relaxed. It was like he was fighting someone his own age. He was a lot more loose and relaxed at the moment. He laughed wow he really was relaxed. "C'mon Teach you haven't seen anything yet." He said as he had gotten away.
How many styles did he have left. He thought to himself, then he realized he had one left and that was his boxing style. One he hadn't really used in a while mostly because he worked on his mixed martial arts style instead. He liked to think his boxing style was one of his best styles mostly because he worked for years on it. How much longer could he hold out? Probably not very long, he was getting tired from exerting so much effort against her.
Crap! he wanted to shout if her foot hadn't connected with his face. He took the hit squarly not being able to move without getting hurt worse or getting hit somewhere else. He stumbled backwards and wiped blood that dripped out of his mouth. "That's the best hit you've landed." He teased as he spit the rest of the blood out of his mouth. Suddenly he was focused and his stance changed to his boxing stance and he was really serious. He felt something start to fall and he stole a quick glance towards the sky. The rain started coming down and man how he wished he could use his powers right now.
He was bouncing on his feet as he edged his way towards her. Suddenly he struck left, right, right, left, was the order he threw his jabs. His jabs were fast and the rain seemed to make him faster. Then he backed off as if the ding of a boxing bell had gone off signiling the end of a round. His face was serious no teasing grin or joking smile adorned it just pure concentration

There was a moment during which Tatyana felt she might actually feel bad for hurting him—she'd almost hit him straight in the temple, though she'd tried her hardest not to. Broken noses and the like were one thing, but concussions were not, and she tried very hard not to give them to random students. But he seemed fine, not disoriented at all as he made his way back to his feet and spat blood from his mouth. Still, the teacher was more prudent than she was not, and so she took a second to check on him, ”If you need, we can take a break.”
You don't fuck with head injuries, as her grandfather had always said.
She looked up at the sky with slight annoyance as the rain came down harder than she'd imagined. Soon, it was one step away from a downpour, and she was glad she had outlawed powers. Even though hers were likely better than his anyway, this would be ideal conditions for him. Now, it just meant that the person with the grippier shoes—probably her, since she had her army boots on—was the person with the advantage. She hadn't looked at his shoes, though, so she wasn't sure.
Ace switched one more time, and she arched a brow at him before entering a state of dead focus. Three? He couldn't possibly have another one learned well enough to fight her with at his age. Three was more than enough, anyway. At this point, Tatyana knew three, but only two of them well enough to fight seriously with—Knife fighting and kick boxing.
