For Kiya it had just been one of those mornings that followed an amazing night of killing mobs and saving people and whatever else she did in her game that night because she really couldn't remember half of it because she was up that late. By late she meant early, like 3 or so am early, though she did have a really good reason for this. She finally bet that annoying boss that she had been having trouble with for the last couple of days and that was something to celebrate. By playing more of that game, because that is the way that she is right? RIGHT! It may have been something that she may have thought was a good idea at the time, but that was also that she did all of the time. Just because something seems good at the time, doesn't mean that it will be good for her when she has to wake up in the morning after only a couple hours of sleep and her online friends say that it was her own fault. Even though it was.
After it had taken at least half an hour just to get ready, which was really long for her on an average day but this wasn't an average day, and it had also taken what felt like forever to get a double shot espresso coffee to try to wake her up, which it did. Only just though, unfortunately! At this point it seemed as if she was never going to get awake enough to be able to do anything at school today and Kiya was really beginning to wonder whether or not she should even go today. On the other hand, she was a leader, so skipping school to sleep wasn't really a good idea because she didn't want to get kicked from her post! It have only been a few weeks in the position but it was really awesome to meet other people without having to never meet them, like in her games, or having to actually to a sport of some kind!
It wasn't like she had any good subject during the day anyway, at least she thought she didn't. At this point she really didn't to remember anything because who knows what homework she had forgotten to bring or even do in the first place and with what could happen during the day in her mind she just decided to leave this world. With that she grabbed her PSP out of her messenger bag and decided to play Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and with only a few level to go before she would be able to play another story, you could stay that she was just a little excited. After a few minutes it finally hit or you could say that she hit something and as soon as Kiya looked up you could say that she wasn't very excited, though she wasn't very excited when she bumped into full stop! "I am so, so sorry about that!"

Altair had been in a foul mood, as of late. Fouler than usual, actually, considering the conversation she had had with her boss. As much she tried to stay on her best behavior so she would not get fired from her job, she couldn't always reign herself in when it needed. So when she had found herself in the office, wearing the clothes she had been told to wear, a sheer blouse over a tanktop and very short shorts with strappy heels, she had not let her anxiety show, tried not to shift uncomfortably as she looked around at the framed magazine covers on the walls, the women she hoped to be. She was only eighteen, but one could only exist in the modelling world for a short amount of time. It was transient, really, and so she only had that small frame to fit her entire existence into. The girl would make it count.
She had listened to the woman go on about flights she would need to take, layovers, and this is what she wanted but Altair was learning something else: responsibility. She could not leave her sister for that long, could not leave school for weeks at a time without coming back and being buried under work. After listening to the woman go on for a little while, she held her hands up and said, ”I have school and a sister to take care of, I can't leave for so long,” she protested. Protesting was not what you did in this industry, and in some cases it could get dirty. She knew the underbelly, she knew what it took to move on up, and it was complete compliance, even if it was a man who wanted to take full advantage of everything you had. The woman narrowed her eyes. ”Don't expect to go very far if you cannot make time for your job,” she said coolly, and Altair instantly regretted her words. Still, in her stupidly stubborn nature, she had to bring up what she believed to be a good point. ”I spent two weeks away from home, and I'm still catching up in school because of that.” Nails tapping against the desk, and then a cold dismissal.
Altair had not lost her job, not yet, but she feared it. She feared she may have pushed too far, asked for too much, but what could she have done? She never figured that it would be this hard, returning to life like this. Somehow, when she was working as a dancer and living off tips, it seemed easier. Then again, back then, she also had Syria around. She walked through the courtyard with a frown on her glossy lips, looking for all the world like the temperamental Fire leader she was, particularly antagonistic that day. So it did not help when she was oh so rudely bumped into by a random chick. ”You're fucking gonna be,” she said wryly with a light smirk, her eyes not as humorous as her tone. Not at all. And to prove she was far from joking, she expelled a wave of fire from her body all around her, a warning for the damage to be done. ”Really should watch where you're going.”

This defiantly wasn’t how Kiya had planned on starting her day, not at all! She knew that she had the whole sleepy thing coming but it was the fact that she hadn’t planned on running into Altair this early and when she this feeling in the back of her mind that Altair wasn’t in the greatest of moods this morning. Kiya knew what her fellow leaders was like, her and her sister, when it came to anger and rage and all of the above but her person life was something that she had tried her best to stay out of. Though, she tried to stay out of most peoples personal lives all together to be completely honest. It wasn’t like she didn’t care or anything and it wasn’t like she didn’t her the rumours that went around every now and again but it was more the fact that Kiya had always tried to see the best in people and hearing about that wasn’t really helping the situation. Though, running into while she was angry wasn’t the best thing to do either way and it didn’t help that she had lost the battle that she was in because of it!
It was the look on the other girls face that really gave it away in the end and in Kiya’s mind all she could see was steaming coming out of the girls nose and ears with her face turning as red as the fire that she was able to produce. That wasn’t very good. It wasn’t like she was going to cry or anything, seeing as over the years she had learnt not to cry because all you are doing is giving them a reason to give you even more crap and with someone like Altair that was all she needed to have to run back to her room and just play something else to get her mind off of it. That was went it had clicked in her mind. It wasn’t really like her to get so low when talking to come one like this. She may have only been a leader for a couple months but she was still able to stand up for herself, most of the time. “I will make sure to do that.” It wasn’t like she was trying to ‘sas’ the elder girl but at this point all Kiya really wanted to do was run into class and continue playing. She was in way to deep now to go back on what she had said, though the fire that she had currently had in the form of a wave around her body was just a little scary! All Kiya could do was just try to think of a way to get rid of the flames before they were to catch on something and then they would be screwed.

The girl didn't want a fight. Altair expected that. She really loved people who did fight back, though, especially physically. That's where the challenge was, in the person who could stand up to her and not back down, not turn away from her because she wasn't worth it, or they were scared, or whatever it was that backed them out of any confrontation. That's why Earths couldn't keep her attention for too long. They were pacifists, pincushions in all honesty. In her eyes, the lack of desire to fight was a weakness. It made sense. The fighting spirit, the drive, that was where character lied. It showed strength and power, and eve though she did not admire anyone, it could come close if a person would show that they were willing to face her. That, and she fed off violence.
Altair was primal, entirely so, all the things that most people kept buried brought to the surface. And some may call her a bitch or a slut or what have you, but she couldn't see why they would have a problem with the fact that she was more in touch with her base desires. She didn't try to sugarcoat anything with society, didn't try to click with it. Fighting and fucking was part of Darwin's whole idea, it was natural selection.
And so she wasn't going to back down when this girl seemed to sass her, or that's how she interpreted it. Such words just spurred her on. "Will you?" she asked, looking quizzically at her. There was amusement in her gaze now, not just the cruelty and sharpness in her gaze that was always there. "Because I really fucking doubt that. Maybe I should show you why you should watch where you're going?" The flames grew. Only a short time ago, none of this would have been possible without a lighter. She didn't miss those times, how weak she had been. Now she was a leader, and she didn't even recognize that this girl was, too. There hadn't been a collective meeting since the one with Ashton and Asher that ended up in a war. It had since died down, which she found rather unfortunate with how much she loved war.
The girl cocked her head to the side, looking almost like a puppy. But she wasn't cute enough in that moment to pull it off. Always sexy, she reminded herself. Always sexy. "Or you can just tuck your tail in-between your legs and run, in which case I'll just have to laugh at you." She raised her eyebrow, and she was sure she would be making a scene right now with all her fire. She hoped she intimidated the girl, scared the living shit out of her. Altair enjoyed that kind of power over another person.

This was just one of those time when she really wished that video game character could just jump out of her game and save her. Sora would probably thinking that the leader in front of her was a heartless and would defeat her with his awesome keyblade and then she would laugh and have fun and Kiya would be able to realise how much of her imagine was able to be able to come up with these sorts of things. It was a little scary at times. Seriously, here she was, in front of Altair who currently had a massive amount of flames around her body and was going to probably kill her with it if she was to let her guard down at any point during this. At the same time Kiya did feel like she had had a little bit of an advantage for two reasons. She was really good at dodging and Kiya had a little bit of a feeling that Altair didn’t even know that she had taken the role of the female wind leader. It was funny for herself and she could help but just laugh a little to herself. It wasn’t like she wanted to get into a fight but she also knew that she kinda wanted to push this girl to the ground and laugh her ass off. That would probably get her kicked out of her leadership position but it was still be really funny, either way.
“Oh really?” Kiya did know that messing with a girl that was a year above her wouldn’t be the best thing to do, considering that this one just happened to be a fire girl and it was another leader. The last thing that she needed was for this to end up in an all-out war, that was for sure. There was also so much fire that one girl could dodge before getting burned and that was another thing. She really hated this sort of thing, it was the worst thing about actually being a leader at this school. There was always one fight that would have to be broken up! It sucked, but this time she was the one in the fight and it was just something a little different.
“You know what,” this was going to be a first time thing for her, but it wasn’t her fault, she was over this and was about to snap, “Or you should just do the same thing. Wouldn’t that be just as funny darling?” Okay, maybe the ‘darling’ had been a little over kill in this situation but it was one of those things that always sounded better in her head!

Was this little shit going to start something with her? It was terribly like Altair to make incredibly fierce first judgments about a person based on her own ego and beliefs. Kiya was just...tiny. Unassming. Not someone she would imagine holding her own in a fight. Maybe she just liked to believe these things to help boost her confidence before a fight. It certainly made things a lot easier on her part. But she didn't really need help, did she? Altair's jaw set, before she opeend her mouth and said, ”Yeah, really.” The lack of pure sarcasm showed just how irritated she was, an animal disturbed too easly after slumbering. She started a lot of fights, she knew that, yet she always found ways to blame the other person. It was Kiya's fault for bumping into her when she was already pissed off. It was her fault for Altair not liking her. Even if these views simply weren't true, it was what went through that blond head of hers as the fire circled and whipped and stretched in her open palm like a sentient being.
The attitude back certainly had not been what she'd expected. She half expected the bitch to bug off, to go somewhere else, anywhere so that Altair just didn't have to curb stomp her. She loved to fight, but she didn't like one that was already won. Seriously underestimating her opponent, she believed Kiya to be like that, someone who would crumble easily. ”I'm sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of me kicking your ass.” Altair flicked her fingers, the fire shooting out in a thin, spear-like attack aimed for the Water leader's chest. She didn't mess around, and did not care too much for verbal warfare when she could just kick ass with her element. Her eyes narrowed coldly, obviously intent on doing more damage if Kiya wanted to talk some more. She was not one who would back down or tuck her tail between her legs, so the Wind girl will probably be sorely disappointed. She didn't care, as long as she was the one who came out on top.

It wasn’t like she did like fighting or anything, she was a leader after all. It was more that fact that she was about a get into complete on bitch session with another leader and from past evidence she know that that was never really a good thing. As much as Kiya just wanted to go up and turkey lap the bitch’s face, the last thing the school needed was another war and all because of the two of them. It wasn’t like she was trying to blame herself for even starting something, it was more the fact that she had gotten herself into this situation and in all honesty it really was her own fault for doing that to herself. Though, now that Kiya began to think about this, all of this started because she bumped into Altair when she was playing her game. Who knew that this would have been the outcome right! “Well, maybe you shouldn’t have been such a slow one and moved out of my way!” Okay, maybe one more insult wouldn’t hurt, hopefully.
You want to know something, at this point Kiya really couldn’t care about what would happen after this fight. A part of her really didn’t want to fight the fire leader because if something was to happen than the aftermath may not be the best thing but the other part of her is telling her to just punch the bitch out. Should she leave it to chance it was this something that she should be a little more controlling about and just go all leader on her ass. The comment wasn’t really help the fires case at this point but as soon as the fire was aimed and fire she knew that this was going to be a go big or go home situation. This would be the point that things really did change. This was when her leader side came out and wanted to stop the situation. “You know what, this needs to stop.” To be honest Kiya didn’t even know if she knew that she was a leader. They hadn’t been to any meetings together since she had become a leader, so it wouldn’t surprise her if she didn’t know. “The last thing the school needs is for two leaders to get into a bitch fight……. Bitch!” Okay, that was the last one…. Hopefully.

It was very hard to insult Altair. In her mind, she couldn't even be insulted. For one, she had her head so far up her ass she couldn't even see the hater. For another, she just didn't listen to other people. And Kiya calling her a "slow one" was at the bottom of things she'd been called in her lifetime. She had had worse things said to her, by loved ones and by complete strangers who wanted nothing more from her than her body. Altair had seen her fair share and it built her a tough, impenetrable skin. That was one thing she could be thankful for with having so much shit in her life. "Oh wow, thanks for your advice," she said, and the sarcasm did not have to be noted. It was always there, and it was clear by the way she stood confidently and unchanged that nothing Kiya could say would ever affect her. Save for making her even more angry than she already was. The Fire leader may not have let things get to her, but she did get pissed off easily, if this day was any proof of such a thing.
Altair blinked when the girl said that this needed to stop. "Don't tell me you're going to go all freedom fighter on me," she said dryly, not amused by this new development from her. If she had some self-righteous bullshit she needed to spout, the Fire was getting out of there. She did not have the time or the patience to deal with that kind of thing. To deal with Kiya if it wasn't with her fire itself. It was all she could do not to roll her eyes, and it amazed her that she actually did not. Then, when the Wind leader spoke her part, Altair laughed. "Wow," she said slowly at first and then, "Wow! You have got to be shitting me. You don't want to fight and then you go right ahead and call me a bitch." She took a moment to shake her head with that wry smile on her face. "Your obviously great at these peace agreement things." She didn't like peace. She did not even want it, as a matter of fact, which was why she thought it was rather unfortunate that the war had to sputter out like it did.
Altair was sure the other leaders appreciated it. Kiya's partner Asher had been a mediator between Ashton and Altair, but the two had gotten into a back and forth spat that gotten them into the war in the first place. It was obvious just from that that Altair did not really care much for 'keeping the peace'. It wasn't in her agenda. "I'll tell you what," she said smoothly, the lax smile still on her face, though it was still lacking genuine intent. "Why don't we gather all the leaders and have a little discussion about our problems. And then we can be a big, happy family." The sarcasm wasn't strong, it was spoken as if she were saying that this was exactly what she wanted. She frowned then. "It doesn't work like that, honey. You pissed me off and now I'm going to hurt you. Clear?" It was obvious as day and night. She wasn't just going to disperse the fire and laugh it off simply because Kiya said they shouldn't fight. That was one of the worst things you could say to an angry Altair.

If you ever knew Kiya, privately that is, you would know that at times she had just a little bit of a big mouth. She would say things that she really didn’t mean to say out loud and sometimes it would get her into just a little bit of trouble. Of course, her big mouth had never really gotten her into a fight before, that was something that she had a really bad feeling was about to happen. On the other hand, she knew that she wouldn’t be able to fight back. It wasn’t like a game or anything like that. She couldn’t die and then just re-start the level because she forgot to buy heaps of potions from the moggle that was just outside of the battle. This was real life and she didn’t really want to think about what she had gotten herself into because that was the hardest thing for her to imagine. That and the fact that she had been able to talk her way out of fights for the past couple of years when this sort of thing happened but with this girl, Kiya really didn’t think that she would be able too. She had heard the rumours and they weren’t the best in the world, which was for sure. On top of that she also knew that the fire girl was ruthless in a fight.
“Ok, big mouth, got it.” She said to herself, she would have to keep her mouth shut to be able to get out this with only minor injuries, which was always the better option. Even though she did realise the current situation, she also know that there was no way of getting out of this little tip-toe thing that they currently had going on and it was only at this point that she realised that the fire girl that she was currently arguing with was a full year older than her. It wouldn’t be like the elemental training that she was used too, that was for sure and with the difference being pretty high, she was now a bunch load more worried than she was just a new minute ago! She knew that her family wouldn’t be happy if she were to fight the elder fire student, but it also the fact that she really didn’t want to have to miss out on this wonderful day because of third degree burns! That would scar and that would be the last thing that she needed if she was ever to see her family again! “Peace agreements, I haven’t gotten to that part of the leader stuff yet. Still new, remember!?” Well, she probably didn’t even know that Kiya was a leader until today and she really wasn’t the best at the whole ‘peace agreement’ thing because she had never really need that sort of skill..
As soon as Altair had some up with the whole ‘discussing our problems’ thing, she really couldn’t be happier and was about to jump up for joy because she would have to fight and lucky she didn’t. She big mouth would have gotten her into even more trouble and that was never a good thing. The last parts of the conversation weren’t exactly the best things that she wanted to hear and Kiya knew that either way she was going to get hurt by the elder fire leader. Kiya knew that she had said some things that had gotten her into this situation and that is was all her fault, that didn’t mean that she actually wanted to make things right. Of course her first thought was to just let her have her way and just attack the wind girl, that was how they did it in the movies and everything always ended right. It should be the same here, maybe? A breeze was all that she needed to create a small shield around her body but there was no telling how long that was going to last. As soon as Kiya had felt a little bit of a breeze she knew that this would be the only way to get out with minimal injuries, “Okay then,” Kiya said as she started to move the wind around her to make a bit of a shield, “have it your way..”

Altair gave the girl a withering glance. Smart asses. She could not deal with them. Anyone who thought they were funny and clever, she simply wanted to punch them in the face. And she did, a lot of the times. She didn't know restraint, what that meant, what it looked like. She supposed it was in the way Earths turned the other cheek, or Thunders bottled up everything and waited to carry out their vengeance. She supposed it meant not going off the handle whenever someone said something that angered her. But she had a temper problem, one that she never bothered to control. Why should she restrain herself when there were so many idiots out there who didn't control themselves and what came from their mouths. Kiya should have just shut up with that comment, but she didn't, opting for whatever would piss Altair off more. It wasn't the wise choice, and why should Altair take the high road now? Why should she just walk away?
It was this style of Altair's that got her into the most trouble with other people. She didn't believe in holding back for anyone else. Let alone an obnoxious Wind leader. Of course, she was just obnoxious to Altair for simply breathing the same air as her, but Altair believed every opinion she had of other people to be fact. The Fire girl lifted her eyebrows as if Kiya's words were something completely new and mind-blowing to her, opening up a whole new field of existence for her. "Wow, really, you're new to this? Holy shit, I would have never guessed." She remember the old Wind leader, Asher, how he had tried to mediate the meeting between she and Ashton. But Altair was a provoker, she did what she could to piss people off. Actually, in that case, she had spoken how she felt. The fact that she really did not care about his element and her own could do what they felt was right. She ran her group with a Laissez-faire policy. She was not her police, she was the queen, and she could not control every single person in her element.
She grimaced as the girl created the shield of Wind. Though she knew that luck wasn't on her side. If she truly tried an attack, wind was like a buffer to fire, it fed flames and grew them, spread them out. Altair felt like she had the upper hand, but she always did, even in fights with Water elementals. She always found some sort of excuse, something that would make her feel more confident in an altercation. She fed her own ego, she built herself up, and therefore she was the only one who could tear her down. So she gathered more flames in the palm of her hand. "Don't think that you're going to even come close to touching me," Altair warned, noting that there was no fear in Kiya's voice. "You got nothing on me and you can't defend yourself forever." Altair held out her hand, and it was like a flame-thrower, full blast. Her style of fighting exhausted her quickly, but she liked to subdue her opponent from the outset. It may have been different when it came to fisticuffs, but right now this was elemental-to-elemental combat. Two leaders causing a scene in the courtyard, not the beset example to be setting for the school. Though this was the usual for other students.

Sometimes Kiya really had to think about why she got herself into these types of situations because it seemed too happened almost all of the time she had to talk to anyone from the fire or thunder element and she apparently just really didn’t like those people. Well, it happened all of the times that she had gotten into an argument with either of those two elements and she really didn’t know it happened. She had friends from all four elements and just seemed a little weird that it only happened with certain people and this was one of this moments when she really didn’t want this to happen. Considering it was two leaders that were in the fight and if something was to go wrong it would end up in just another war and that was the last thing she needed at this point in her leadership career. Though, with the way that they were acting she was hoping in the back of her head that no one would recognise her as the female wind leader at all, considering she had only been in the role for a few months and was still pretty new to the job. Even though you could tell that we was just like anything else like that at this academy seeing as all of the past leaders had either stepped down or gone on to the college part of the academy. Which was what half the current leaders were doing at the end of the as well.
It was one of the easier things that she could think of doing at this point in time, considering the fire leader had had a few years more experience than herself, which was something that she was really dreading at this point. On top of that she also know that she would be able to get out of this fight with minimal injuries if she played her cards right and used the current breeze to her advantage, which was something that she had been just a little good at considering everything. It was something that she really had to concentrate on but it was also something she knew how to have had a little bit of experienced with, thank god. Being in her grade and having the amount of time to herself was really something that was going to come in handy at the moment because is always time that she had taken to practice in the gardens and around the academy where she was able to practice somewhat. Though once Altair shad said what she had said Kiya just got a little worried but who wouldn’t be worried if you had a person holding out there and just spamming you with fire, it wasn’t fun and it was taking out her shield faster than she had originally hoped, that was for sure. And as soon as small flickers of flames had gotten through her shield she decided to move away which could go one of two ways. She could either get away or have a chance to knock her over or she would move and get burned, literally! Moving it was.
Starting to move was the hard but as soon as she had been able to use the breeze to make her move fast she was able to send a somewhat gust of wind toward the fire leader and momentarily knock her over. It was a small victory but the war was still going and it was something that she now really wanted to win. “You sure, because I have a feeling that the turning of the tides is coming!” It was something that she knew that she really shouldn’t have said because it was going to fire up Altair just that little bit more but it just felt right. It wasn’t every day that she was able to do what she was doing and even though it was something that she really never wanted to do again it was also something she was happy about. She was holding her own against a twelfth year and that pretty hard to do when you where against the mighty Altair! But once she saw the fire girl begin to regain her balance she knew that she was in for hurt and she was not looking forward to it. Re-creating her past wind shield she was getting ready for anything that was going to come her way, “oh no!”

Honestly, Kiya could have been a saint. She could have had a halo above her head and could have shone so bright it was blinding, and Altair still would have hated her. Maybe even more so, because blinding light was just obnoxious. And while Kiya seemed like a nice girl to anyone who was not Altair, the Fire leader considered herself a cold, hard realist. She did not see anyone as being a saint or a good person. Only one person in her life had ever come close to being a wonderful human being, and that was Syria. She didn't know all of the damage, how bad it had gotten for the girl, even after her sister overdosed. But that was family. She always held her sisters in high-esteem, they were her better halves. And now it was down to Rowena, a girl she protected as fiercely as an alligator defending her nest. She knew that the Thunder did not need that protection, but Altair never took any chances -- if she lost Ro, she lost everything. She didn't want to imagine a life without her sister, because she knew how hard she would fall. She knew that without her sister there to hold her up, she would end up where she had been first coming to the Academy. Worse. As a matter of fact, what life was worth living without her sister to protect and to support, because it was a fact that they supported each other.
It was awfully strange that she could be so passionate about her love for Rowena, when she was about to flat out destroy another girl who could have very well been a sister to someone. Altair didn't care about that, she could be best described as having tunnel vision. The gust of wind did a good job at knocking her back, disrupting her, but she recovered quickly. The Wind elemental's attacks were like getting uppercut by rock, the gusts as palpable as any Earth students. She may have been impressed were she capable of being impressed. As it were, she just got more irritated. Well, pissed might have been the better word because she flicked the loose strands of hair that had fallen out of her bun behind her ear. She didn't like her hair down in general, but especially not when fighting. It didn't stop her from getting into confrontations even with loose hair, however. She rolled her eyes at Kiya's words, drawing in a breath. "Please, shut up," she said, because really, who cliche could you get? This girl must have played too many video games or something, because that shit was not cute.
The girl threw up her shield again, at least as far as Altair could tell by her stance. She couldn't see the wind, but she had learned that when fighting against the element one had to pay close attention to the opponent's movements. As much as she was a very offensive fighter, she could be very observant. That was the purpose of the Academy, after all, to make sure that the students learned how to handle other elements, as well as their own. No matter what, she'd always appreciate the education she received here. "Playing the defensive game again?" Altair sneered, working up another blast of fire, hoping it could force the shield down. She wanted to get closer, to go around the girl, to find some way to get through the defense but she was wary. She wouldn't be quick enough before Kiya caught on, would she? In her mind, she calculated her next move, trying to figure out what to do when, predict the Wind girl's actions. It was relatively unsuccessful, so she dropped her hands. It was not a battle worth waging if Kiya was not going to fight back, like she had when blasting her with the gust of wind. But she was not going to let her defenses completely fall.
