This was a statement that Sandra heard far too frequently for it to hold any water anymore. She'd heard it from Nell, from many of her other friends, and from Matthew more often than anyone else. Her parents said that she had too much sometimes too, but considering they were the ones who must have given her anything spicy to try in the first place... well, that was just not going to mean very much to Sandra. In the end though, she just did as she liked. "Nuh uh," she said, giggling. "My tastebuds love me for getting to taste all the spice. You know how it is." She gave Nell an evil grin. It seemed that at some point or another, their conversations together always turned to food and one or both of them getting hungry. "Me too," she said, sighing. She'd even just eaten a meal before she'd gone and then come back from the grocery store, but man, this conversation was making her crave things like burning. "And dumplings are the best. I'm guessing you have lots of primary food groups, though." She also thought of the same movie and grinned, but didn't bring it up. The reference could have been intentional... or not. It was hard to tell because food was food... which meant it was awesome.
Sandra was smarter than people might have guessed, all things considered, but when it came to the sciences and memorizing all those fancy terms, she was lost. She wished that everything just had a common name that people would use for it, but that was just something that she didn't think was ever going to happen in the scientific community. Maybe she should write a letter to IUPAC and have it made into science law or something. Sandra always thought her ideas were brilliant, but many other people seemed to disagree... like everyone who knew what they were talking about, anyway. At least her friends didn't judge her (much)! "My handwriting's pretty big, though," she said, frowning a little. She liked her writing, but it definitely wasn't small enough for her to label each of her toes or anything. "And abbreviations only work if you remember what they stand for!" Sandra wouldn't. That was the problem. "And okay. But you have yet to discover the ways of the internet, just wait," she said with a long, sad nod, like it was inevitable and truly heartbreaking for people to suddenly discover what there was online. Sandra didn't live her life on a gadget or anything -- far from it -- but she had her moments.
Hey, Sandra didn't even have one job, and she was totally content with life. Then again, it was probably because she was just lazy and -- like with school -- she'd probably just get bored of doing the same thing over and over again. Hey, she did whatever was absolutely mandatory for her to do well. If she thought she needed to do those repetitive math problems, she would... and if she thought that a little more pocket change was necessary, she'd take a job. Her parents gave her a bit, though, and she worked a little bit during breaks at her dad's restaurant when she was able to. It was enough to hold her through the semesters. "Nah, school's lame like that," she said with a sigh. "Drop out! Get a totally sweet job and you'll never have to take school again!" She was joking, though. For all the (lack of) effort on Sandra's part, education was more important to the girl than she'd let on. "Dude, Mexican!" Her eyes lit up immediately the same way they had earlier when Nell mentioned spicy potatoes. Oh, the girl just liked food. "And yeah, I have Toy Story! Uh... somewhere..." She shrugged, then clapped her hands together to make the decision final. "We'll find it when we get back! Food time." She grinned and led the way out of the apartment.
