Aramina couldn't help but laugh a little to herself, Nell was defiantly a funny one, that was true. She seemed to know how to make the wind girl laugh no matter what the situation and that was something that Aramina really admired about the earth girl. It was something that not very many people had and in her mind, that was one of the greatest qualities in the world. "That is defiantly true, Scooby" she said laughing a little to herself. She really hoped that Nell knew that Aramina would never let that down, in her mind from now on, they would be Shaggy and Scooby. Even though it may be a little bit of a joke between the two of them, in her mind, it was defiantly going to last quite a bit.
As soon as Nell jumped into the small lake in the cavern Aramina began to laugh her ass of. Being the type of girl that Aramina was and also coming from a place where she when swimming all the time in, even though half the time it was really cold where she lived. She had really gotten used to swimming in cold water, even though it seemed like Nell wasn't really used to it. Putting her head under the water for a couple seconds and as soon as she brought her head back up she wiped her eyes and looked back over to Nell and smiled when she saw the girl in front of her shivering. Swimming over she wrapped her arms around the girl and laughed, "You really are cold, aren't you?"
Gaining a little bit a air she put her head up and started to dive down a little until she saw something that really made this trip interesting. As soon as she came back up from air she looked over to Nell with a shocked look on her face. "You would never guess what was down there!" she said with a little bit of nervousness evident in her voice. You could tell that whatever she had seen was something big. "You have to come down here, there is some pretty old looking drawing on the wall under water, you should really see them!"

Nell had never swam a day in her life before coming to Canada. In fact, the first time she ever swam was in spring, when she mastered her dog-paddle. Even if she did have a chance at a childhood, she lived in the city, and a bad part of the city at that. Not only was there no ocean, not a lot of people had poos. The only real form of entertainment they had in the summer was the fire hydrant, and she remembered watching the kids play around in the spray from her window. She had wanted to be a part of that. But when she went down and saw her mother with her ironing board, doing work for the neighbors, she knew that she couldn’t even slip out to play with the other kids. The best times where when her mother passed out in the day time, usually to sleep off the alocohol in her system, and Nell would sneak out while there was still light out.
Because of her lack of childhood, she really wasn’t used to water in general, let alone cold water. And yet, Aramina seemed perfectly content. Nell almost stared in wide-eyed wonderment at the girl. It was always strange, two people being so different and yet getting along well. She thought of Josh, and the fact they they were each other’s antithesis. Holding onto Aramina’s arms as they wrapped around her for support—even though she didn’t say why—Nell said through her teeth, ”I’ll be fine, really.” She would never concern someone else with such a petty thing anyway. Even she thought she really wasn’t all right, she’d get up. Then again, the girl believed it impossible for her to get sick, and so she didn’t see a reason to get out.
Treading water as best she could, keeping her head above the surface, she watched Aramina dive down and wondered how she could hold her breath for so long. When she popped up, she seemed excited about something, and Nell blinked as she registered the words. ”You for real?” Now pumped to see whatever it was that her friend had, she did her best dog-paddle over to Aramina. When she reached the girl, however, Nell gently gripped her wrist and said in a low voice as if sharing a secret, ”Uhm…I actually can’t swim that good.” She was almost sheepish to admit this, since it was something that a lot of people learned when they were kids. She never had the oppurtunity though. There were a lot of things she didn’t know about, how to do, or…anything really. She had her mother to thank for that. ”Like…okay, I can dog-paddle and all, but…” She looked over at the deeper water and said, ”I wouldn’t trust myself to go deep underwater.” Usually she wouldn’t receal something like this about herself, but she felt it was necessary, because she tried to think of what would be weirder—chickening out now after exploring a cave with this girl or admitting that she was the best swimmer?

Aramina couldn't help but wonder just a little to herself. She had always been around water and loved to swim, which is why her brother had been confused when he found out that she was a Air Elemental, though all the people that do live in her house 'back home' like doing stuff in the water. Looking over to Nell, she could tell that she was having a little bit of trouble so she decided to at least try to help her as much as she could, even though she would really would have liked her to see what was on the wall under the water at this point in time. Thinking over it for a second she though to something. "You can't go under hey," she began when she try to think about where she had hid it, "I have a water proof camera back in my dorm, if we ever come back remind me to bring it so that I can take a picture for you." She finished with a smile on her face. She though at due to Nell being a Earth Elemental, that she may be at least a little wondering about this type of stuff and it was evident that she was. 'Something like this would be really good to analyse..' She began to think to herself as she swam back to the where the water meet the earth.
As soon as she reached the rock, she quickly brought herself up so that she could sit down for just a little bit. Hearing something go off in her shoes she quickly ran over to see that she had missed a few texts from her brother. Getting out the application she brought up the Picture App and quickly took a nice one of Nell while she was swimming up to get back to where she had just been sitting. Laughing a little she brought up the photo so that she could look at it just for a second. As soon as Nell got to where she had just been seating she sat down next to her and laughed once more. "I have something that you might want to she." Aramina stated while smiling toward the Earth girl sitting next to her. Looking at her phone one more time she quickly turned it toward Nell so that she would see the picture. All that she could hope for now was that she might like it.

Nell always hated admitting weakness, as she was sure many others did. And she considered not knowing how to swim a weakness. It also made her feel…ignorant. Most people learned to swim as kids, and so she felt like she was childish. And in a lot of ways, she was. There were many things others experienced in their childhood that she had yet to learn about. However, she proven herself mature in the fact that she could take care of herself. Her parents raised her little, and she had to figure things out for herself a lot of the times. It could be detrimental, but there was nothing she could to change it. She couldn’t turn back time and somehow learn to swim. It didn’t work that way.
Blinking, her face split into a wide grin at what Aramina said. To anyone else, it might not have been as big a deal, but for Nell, she felt honored that the girl would do something so kind for her. She had great faith in humanity, and she always loved it when that faith was confirmed. ”That’d be great,” she said, her voice hitching a bit with wonderment and excitement. Yes, she did have some childishness about her, but was that such a bad thing? In any case, she was glad that Aramina had come up with such an idea. Nell loved history, after all, and what her friend had found could be a big piece of it.
Nell ambled her way out of the water as gracefully as she could. Why can’t swimming be like climbing trees? She had done a lot of that in her childhood, at least, trying to avoid getting into trouble with the thugs that couldn’t climb trees. She looked at Aramina, but didn’t think anything of the girl having her phone out. Finally, she hauled herself back onto dry land and sprawled out on the ground, giggling a little. Picking herself up and half-crawling over to the girl as she tried to wring out her shirt, Nell arched an eyebrow when she said she had something the Earth girl might want to see. Immediately after looking at the picture, she snorted, and was giggling again. ”Dear lord, I look like a water-logged dog.” For emphasis, Nell shook out her hair and body, getting water droplets on Aramina. She wasn’t one of those people that hated having their picture taken, though, so she definitely didn’t mind it. Even though she looked like an idiot. ”You know what, I think I should be on Sports Illustrated.” She struck a pose before quickly taking out her phone and snapping a picture with the button on the side with ninja-like speed. ”Now I have one of you!” she crooned, giggling and waggling her eyebrows. ”Wanna see?”

Aramina couldn't help but just feel really happy that she was making a real friend at this point. Over the years she had had a few here and there but never really one that she knew she could trust, well, other than Sam and a few friends back in England. After a while she had gotten used to just having friends every now and again then losing them because something happened or they suddenly became bitchy. But, you know, while a friend would knock on your door, a real friend would enter and say 'I am home!'. After spending this time with Nell, Aramina could really tell that they were going to be friends for a while and to her, she really didn't want it to end. "Awesome." She said with an enthusiastic tone of voice as soon as Nell had agreed to come back here again. By the way the cave was set, she could tell that not to may people had really been around here before, or at least not this far into the caver.
The two of them were just sitting there and Aramina was trying to to laugh so hard that she would fall of the ledge and back into the water, mainly because she had her non-waterproof phone in her hand. Hearing what Nell had just said about the photo that she had just taken, she really couldn't help but smile to herself. Stuff like this really didn't happen when you were around a group of people in a school yard. This was something that she could remember for a while to come and have the good memories for a lifetime. Though she stopped laughing once she heard another camera go off. Looking back at Nell she was just a little bit worried. It wasn't that she hated having her photo taken it was that she just hated having photos taken when she didn't know that they were going to take it. As soon as Nell had asked her if she wanted to see the photo she couldn't help but agree. Though she really couldn't help but laugh at what had been taken. "Oh my," Aramina started, trying to find the words, "I look like a wet stray cat!"

Nell liked to see Aramina happy. Well, she liked to see people happy in general, but especially her friends. She had to think of it as the most wonderful feeling in the world, and pondered if other people felt the same way when they saw everyone around them smiling and jovial. That’s all she wanted from the world—happiness all around. ”Now what should I do with this picture?” Nell teased, looking at her phone. ”I’m thinking about framing it, sending it to the Smithsonian for studying.” Thinking of the museaum, she wondered if it was a place that Aramina would actually like to go to. Nell knew she would, be interested in…well, everything, but especially history. And it seemed the other girl had an inclination toward history, as well. There are so many things I need to see. She knew a moment of hope and prospect, and just as quickly, she felt that fear gripping her in its cold fingers. She may never see the Smithsonian, or anything else she wanted to. Her future was now invisible, and so she didn’t try to have too many hopes for it.
Shaking herself out like the dog Aramina described herself as, she tried to wring out her shorts and shirt. ”We should head back and dry off again so we don’t get pneumonia.” Even though she was grinning wide, Nel l was only half-joking. Illness was top on her list of things to worry about. Dummy, not like you’ll ever get sick. She knew she was fine, but she was more concerned about Aramina. She took a lot of pride in her immune system—besides, she didn’t want to entertain the thought of possibly falling ill. Nell stood and looked out into the darkness of the cavern, then at her phone. ”The flowers have probably died, but they’ll still be there.” Unless there was some wild animal eating them or something. But that’s the kind of thing that happens in movies. And as cool as that would be—since she considered herself a cinephile—she’d rather not get lost. She didn’t have a great directional track record, and so if there were no flowers….well, they’d be very screwed. That is, unless Aramina was good with directions unlike her companion.

Aramina couldn't but smile when she heard what Nell was 'planning' on doing with the picture that had been taken of her. If there was one thing that she really liked about Nell, up to thins point, was the fact that Aramina, herself, couldn't help but smile. She was either laughing and mucking around or she was smiling and having a really good time with the girl that she had only meet a few hours before hand. As soon as she realized this fact she help but realize that something like this had never really happened before, getting a friends this fast that is. She had been really glad that she had met Nell, that was for sure! "What ever floats your boat." Aramina said with a joking tone of voice. She couldn't help but just try that little bit more to try and be funny. It was just something that she wanted to do for the earth girl. "Maybe I should do the same thing. They might like to look at this one." She continued, laughing just a little bit.
Standing up she quickly grabbed her shoes and slipped them one, knowing that it was time to start heading back to the academy, as it seemed to be getting darker in the already dark cavern. As they two of them began to walk back Aramina began to wonder what was going to happen as soon as they got back. It had been all to familiar to the wind girl for her to have friends one minute and for them to walk away the next and she was hoping that this wouldn't happen with Nell. Flashing the light, from her phone, toward the girl she wondered if the flowers had died, like Nell had said, or if they were at least a little bit more alive then the seemed to be. Looking down she found that Nell was right, most of the flowers had died but you could definitely tell where they had been originally. "It's a good thing that I remember most of the drawings on the walls, hey." Aramina said with a proud tone in her voice.
